I like it! I definitely think this fits similarly to Marcie. The cups feel good, no wrinkles or quadboob. Open enough on top not to interfere with my tall-ish roots and upper fullness. It looks a bit small in the side pictures but I think that's because I need to awkwardly push my arm back to get that shot. The gore is low and narrow enough not to sit on my close-set boobs, but not so low that I spill out of the middle. Wires are also a good width; they're not creeping into my armpits where I don't need them.
The band feels loose to me, which makes ...sense, since it's a used 30C, and I need a 28D/28DD in Cleo. It's fine on the tightest hook, and if I need to, I can always alter it. Based on how the cups fit, I think a 28D Minnie would be perfect, so I'll be looking for the red version in that size.*
Love the cute polka dot pattern -- it has a bit of a pin-uppy feel, without being too over the top. Overall, my first impression is that this one is a keeper.
Edit: After several hours of wear, the back rides up, causing the sides to dig in. I will definitely be altering the band.
*Edit: Acquired 28D Minnie. Band is perfect but cups are more closed on top?! whyyyyyyy ._.
*Edit: altered band. cups now visibly too small. Read more 129 more words
Second that! Looks like a good fit indeed. This style looks so different in your size compared to mine! At first I thought yours had no white mesh upper cup part.
thanks! yeah they make that part almost nonexistent in the smaller sizes. same with every other Cleo I've tried. -shrug-
I'm curious as to how much of that portion there will be on the Minnie I have coming to me in the mail, and how closed it will be at the top. I feel like the scaling of this 30C is perfect. I hope they didn't decide to get creative and change things in the 28DD. The pictures on here aren't too telling. That lace portion is such a problem for so many of us that I kind of feel like this Minnie is a unicorn.
I'm so happy it works for you! I have had luck taking in the bands on two bras. I did it at the hooks and eyes. You can either remove them with a seam ripper, chop off some band, and resew them, or just fold the eye section over the band and sew. In either case, you will NEED a metal thimble to push the needle through all that fabric.
Haha, this particular unicorn works for me, even with the rather large lace section in 32G. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
that's how I usually alter my bands too. seam rippers are so useful. I don't have a metal thimble, but I find that rubber ones work okay for bras, as long as you press the needle against the thickest part of the thimble, not the side... where the needle will literally stab backwards all the way through to your finger with the blunt end because bra elastic is clearly made of steel.
Yeah, what is with elastic? Every time I have to sew elastic, there is cursing and tears.
The general consensus on this bra is that it is open on top, and I agree with that. The lower cups are shallow on me. I seem to be a bit between sizes in the Marcie. This 30C I could just barely get settled into, but I think the 30D would be too wide for me so I'm sticking with this one. On my larger side (right) I look kind of stuffed in, and from the side it looks like the wire is stabbing me, but I'm just soft there -- I swear I don't feel it during wear. The band is pretty true to size. I'm thrilled to have another unpadded bra that fits and creates a great silhouette courtesy of Cleo . I wish they would stop discontinuing these sizes!
Another really cute unpadded bra that really and truly fits! The other was my 30D - Cleo ยป Lucy (5851) , back when I could still wear a 30D. I was so happy they decided to offer a few of their 3-part cups in B and C sizes and I hope they'll bring them back.
Anyway, the Izzy is true to (Cleo) form. Short straps, tight band, excellent cup shape and lift. Truth be told, due to the band tightness I should probably be wearing a 32B in this particular model (and its clones) but I really don't want to do yet another ...return/exchange. Also, according to the measurements table here on Bratabase, the 32 bands seem to measure 2" larger on average than the 30s. This makes sense and it also means that they would probably be a bit too large for me. So I'll wear this one with an extender until it loosens up.
Bratabase will tell me this bra doesn't fit because in the fit assessment I checked off that the straps don't adjust long enough and the band feels too tight. However, I consider this a fitting bra because it's easy enough for me to lengthen the straps and add a band extender if I wish.**
** Update: Interestingly, when I put on my extender, the straps no longer seemed so constrictive. It looks like the strap lengthening probably won't be necessary. Read more 135 more words
Anyone who has the same boobs as me, run out and buy this bra right now!
Pros: The fabric is solid and sturdy, so even though this is an unlined/unpadded bra, I get no nipple show through at all. It seems like a lot of newer Cleos (Lucy, Marcie, etc) are a mesh fabric that I feel is not as comfortable as a solid fabric like this one.
This bra gives a round shape with great lift. The cups give good side coverage and are actually a little plunge-y in the front.
The black straps allow me to wear this as a "boring black" bra when straps showing is a possibility, ...without being thoroughly plain. The dotted design is cute and whimsical.
Cons: Because the fabric has no give to it, Cleo fitting can be tricky. The band runs tight and the gore always hurts for the first 2-3 wearings. Now that I have worn this maybe 8-10 times, I can put it on the middle hooks. I know I should technically wear a 28 band but I'm hesitant to try a 28 band Cleo because of the painful break-in process. I would be sad if Cleo stopped offering 30Cs and 28 bands as I have heard rumors that they are planning. Read more 99 more words
Looks great on you and will definitely keep in mind! How does it work under shirts though? Does the lace appear bumpy at all? I am realizing that I currently have too many pretty lacy bras and only one bra that works under t-shirts haha.
Huh, I haven't thought about that or noticed it. I think the lace is flat enough that it isn't a problem. It is much flatter than the Lulu Tout Coco Lace Balcony Bra (a-dd) (133514), which I definitely notice being bumpy under a thin or tight t-shirt.
I don't know if I got an irregular bra, but the 30C has slightly wide wires for that size. It would be perfect for someone who needs that! It makes the bra very shallow friendly.
It gives a great rounded shape. The fabric is thick enough to give some modesty even though the bra is not padded or foam lined. The 30C is available only in the dark blue bird print with neon yellow straps which I liked. If you think this bra might work for you, I was able to find it on Amazon and at UK discount website.
It does have the problem that a lot of people have with this style of Cleos including the Minnie etc. where the lace/mesh section collapses while being worn.
It was difficult for me to come to a decision about this bra but I did end up returning it due to the width of the wires.
This is so cute! I love the pattern. When you say that a lot of Cleo bras have an issue with the mesh section collapsing, is it due to not being able to fill the cups or the nature of the fabric itself? I recently got a Cleo Lucy bra which also had that issue but I think it's mostly because I didn't have enough tissue to fill the bra. I was hoping to get a smaller size but if the lash is always collapsing it might give me an inaccurate feel for the size and fit.
The bright mesh section collapsed a little on this bra, I think it is a combination of bra design and breast fit but not necessarily a sizing issue. The upward curve at the top of the cup seems problematic somehow, it wants to go straight and eats the mesh in the process.
I just got a 30C Minnie and the fit of that bra is totally different from this one. There is an open fit request right now about the Minnie and it has the same upward curve at the top of the cup that collapses. However, my 30C Minnie doesn't have that at all. It's weird, I'll get pictures hopefully after work tonight.
I bought this before some of my breast tissue migrated and I became a 30D in most bras. However, unlike most of my other 30C bras it still fits. I think this is because of its rather open cut at the top, or maybe the cups are a bit bigger than in other Cleo bras. In my opinion this bra is very comfortable and gives my boobs a nice, round shape. Compared to the Cleo George the Brooke does not push my boobs to the front as much, so the shape it gives me looks a bit more natural. So far the band on my Brooke hasn't stretched out, and it is so tight that I wear it with an extension. I have not worn the bra very often yet, though.
I loved this bra while it still fit me. It's very comfortable, and it gave me a divine shape. The top of the cups shows through thin shirts (because of the ribbons and other decorations), but that's the only fault I could find with this bra. Because the cups are cut so open at the top I could still wear it when I became a 30D. I'd say if you have wide root shallow breasts and you can still find a Charlie in your size, grab it. I wish Cleo still made this so I could get one in my new size.
I haven't worn my Harry much before it became too small. It gave me a very nice round shape, however, and I think it's beautiful. It's a really good unpadded bra for wide root shallow breasts. The centre gore is narrower than in the Cleo balconettes, although the measurements don't show this: It stays pretty narrow all the way down.
I loved this bra, as it was the first unpadded bra that fit and looked good on me. I wore this bra until my breast tissue migrated and I have now bought two more in my new size. It's a great bra for wide root shallow breasts, although the thinner part of the cup usually wrinkles a bit. These wrinkles disappeared after I had worn this bra several times, and they didn't show under shirts at the beginning. In the time I wore it the band didn't stretch out.
Looks really nice on you! Cute bra :)
