I ordered this second Elena basically expecting to get the same customizations as I got in my previous Elena, but this is actually based off of the last Ingrid I ordered from January 2021. It is virtually the same as the previous Elena except I had asked for the arm to be cut in a bit further. Actually I can't tell much of a difference to see if this was done, but the armhole on this bra is not uncomfortable, which is great!

    Requested customizations:
    - Wire size: normal for 60H, 21.5-22 cm before gore height reduction
    - Cup depth: add 1 cm to center of cup, total depth ... 21 cm
    - Cup height: Reduce 1 cm, total height 14 cm
    - Gore: Reduce 1 cm to keep original cup shape
    - Move in straps and change angle of outer cup: I sent a picture but had wanted to reduce the upper portion of the armhole by 2 cm and lower portion by 1 cm

Styling-wise, the only difference between this new Elena and my previous one is that I had asked for the other Mimis in my order to be made with only one center bow instead of two, and this might have been why Joanna did not include bows at the strap attachments like on my previous Elena. The scalloped bow lace at the cradle is a little more pink on the new bra and more beige/brown on the older bra, but otherwise the trims are identical. Band on this bra measures closer to spec as the last one was a little snug.

The fit is identical to my last Elena bra, and the straps are not moved in as much as my last Ingrid or the Mimi Plunge from the same order, although the fit was supposed to be the same.

I've just tried on this bra and am astounded by how well it fits. I will update my review after a few wears. This is the snuggest 28 band I've experienced (measures 26 inches stretched) and it feels secure without strangling me. The wires are what I am most happy about. They are narrow and U-shaped, with a low gore. The Elena is a simple design, but prettier than it looks on the Comexim website. The foam cups are light and flexible and the seams are fairly low profile, although will show through a very thin shirt. I am FOB with tall, narrow roots and immediate projection.

Edited after ... a few wears: Although the band on Elena measures exactly the same as my Ginger in the same size, it feels a little looser and comfortable for a whole day (tested on an eleven hour drive), I think because the bottom of the cups are slightly more projected. My UB currently measures 28/26.5/25.5 so I think I could wear either a 60 or 65 band depending on the day. The top of the cups lay flat with no gaping or quadding, but I feel a little extra space on the upper and outer part of the cup near my armpit. I think I could go down a cup size to get rid of the extra space, but it is minimal enough that I'm not worried about it. I would like it if the straps were set in a little on both Elena and Ginger as they rub on my armpits a bit. This happens to me in virtually every bra I ever worn, except for Panache Clara, so it is not a huge deal. So far, I'm sold on Comexim bras and recently received a 65F Anna Pardal Lady Grey half cup from needboobwisdom and am curious to see how it compares fit-wise.

** This is a customized bra! The only non-standard measurements are CUP HEIGHT and GORE HEIGHT. **

    Customization:
This is my third round of customizations with Comexim. Basically, I need a 60H Standard Plunge with slightly lowered cup height and gore, and I need the straps moved in so they are sitting more like on a 60G.

My second round, with the Pearl Flower Mint Standard Plunge, worked out perfectly for the cup height (tip: you must reduce cup AND gore height by the same amount to maintain the same proportions!), but we still struggled with getting the strap placement correct. I basically ended up with the same ... placement as on an unaltered 60H bra, which means it is too wide for me and ends up digging into my armpits when I move my arms. After many emails and photos with Joanna, she asked me to take one more measurement: measure the upper cup from the gore to where the straps should attach. Therefore, this is exactly how I requested my order:

Elena 60H: Please keep as Plunge
    - Wire size: normal for 60H, 21.5-22 cm before gore height reduction
    - Cup depth: normal for 60H, total 20 cm
    - Cup height: Reduce 1 cm, total height 14 cm
    - Gore: Reduce 1 cm to keep original cup shape
    - Outer cup length/strap attachment area: total length 6 cm, same as 60G
    - Move in straps and change angle of outer cup: top of cup to strap attachment measure 17 cm instead of 18.5 cm

** Final bra should be the same wires and cup depth as normal 60H, same cup height and strap placement as 60G
** Outer cup angle needs to be cut in more than normal so that straps are moved in like on 60G

Note: the reason that writing "move straps in 1.5 cm" isn't clear is because once you change anything about the cup, like the cup height or depth, the placement is already going to be slightly different than on an unaltered style, and it's impossible to verify if the alteration was done as you intended. Many other people have had issues with this method of requesting strap placement changes, so to save yourself the headache, please take the measurement as I did, and provide a photo if possible.

I used the same notes to order the Queen of Hearts Plunge and the Elena Plunge, which are both basically the same bra but in different fabrications. I am pleased to say that this customization worked out perfectly! Coincidentally, Joanna was very fast with this order and shipping was also very quick. I received the order 16 days after placement, when it normally takes Joanna about 16 days to produce and ship . . .

    Fit:
Queen of Hearts is made from a slightly shiny knit fabric, and the band is single layer firm tricot. Elena is all mesh with a double layer powermesh band. Both bras fit pretty much the same, though oddly my Elena came in with wires 2 cm smaller than normal, and the cup measured .5 cm deeper than normal. I remember someone else who ordered Queen of Hearts in 2020 said that the band came in much smaller than expected, and both of these bands measure 53 cm, which is within the normal range for this size. Most of my Comexims in 60H measure 53 cm, with a range of 53-56.5 cm. They are both very snug on me, but not tight enough to need an extender. For reference, my underbust is 26.5-27" depending on how tightly you measure, but my ribcage doesn't expand much bigger than this. If you are between band sizes or have a very flexible ribcage, consider sizing up to your sister size in these styles.

Other than the band being extra snug, the cups fit exactly as expected. This gives me a really nice round, lifted shape without being too tall in the cup or running too high in the armpit. The only caveat is that now that I am a little fuller, I probably need to request the next order with +1 cm additional depth in the cups. Combined with the snug bands, the cups do look and feel a little tight on me now, but that is due to my changing size and not realizing it in time for this order.

    Styling:
OK, Elena has one of the least appealing website photos, because it is not shot on-model. I had repeatedly passed this by without a second thought until I saw this review with photos: https://letstalkbras.wordpress.com/2017/02/06/bra-review-comexim-elena-plunge-28g-60hh/

Basically, Elena is a beige-colored mesh bra. You can think of her as a solid nude Ingrid, or a mesh version of the Basic. However, if you look at the trims, they are actually very cute: the trim that outlines the wire channel and connects the cradle to the wings is actually a pattern of little bows! This is a unique touch and adds a little something extra to an otherwise basic style. Note that when it comes to elastic and bows, Joanna tends to use whatever she has on hand. I ended up with the diamond textured beige elastic I've received on many other beige bras, and my center bow is a double stacked folded square bow in beige satin. The website photo depicts a gingham bow, and the blogger's photos depict grosgrain bows. Your trims will vary . . . depending on what is in stock.

The band is pretty standard for Comexim, with a deep leotard back. Wing fabric is made of double layered firm powermesh. This is a different iteration of a nude bra, and since I really love Comexim's mesh bras for their ultra-lightweight feel, I think I like this better than the Basic! A great addition to your collection if you just want another beige/nude in a lighter fabrication.
