Safiya is an absolutely gorgeous unpadded half cup (2HC) bra. Seriously, this bra has to be the prettiest bra I have seen, it is that gorgeous. It is sheer purple-blue periwinkle color with embroidery on the cups. Seriously a stunning bra!

    For the measurements:

All measurements are taken prior to trying the bra on to insure no figure is obscured by the body. I also take all flat measurements before taking the stretched cup then band measurements for the same reason.

The band measures 22.5” and stretches to a max of 28.5”. It has 3 hooks and 4 rows of eye loops.

    Cup Depth as measured by:
1 Hovering the cup between the ... knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance.
    This measurement is: 13.25”
2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance.
    This measurement is: 16.25”

I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.

The other measurements are: 6” cup width, 8.5” height, with a 5” wing and 4.25” gore.

    As for fit,
It is about as perfect as I could expect to get, so I am super pleased! The band is comfortable on the tightest hook-set (which is my normal) and the gore sits 1.5 fingers off my sternum (again, about normal for me) and the cups fit practically perfect in my opinion. The only fit issue (which is not an issue for me) is that the wires do not follow the outside of my breasts. The wires do follow the center of my breasts beautifully from gore to IMF, and around the IMF nicely, as well as meeting my root at the top under the underarm, it’s just the curve between my IMF and top of the root that is different, but at least it is in a good way, curving further out instead of sitting on the breast tissue, so I really am happy with it. Seriously happy with it. It’s beautiful and it fits!! Yay!!

Also, the only alteration that was requested for this one was moving the straps in, which I do feel was done.

I don't see any wrinkling at the wire. I am impressed, I thought the 2HC were supposed to be shallow. This doesn't look like it!

    • 2

This is such a gorgeous bra and I'm so glad it fits you ☺️

    • 1

      Thank you :-)

@Sovavosi There is no wire wrinkling! I swear Comexim is my new breast friend 😍 and this one is as perfect as I could hope for.

    • 1

This bra is gorgeous and looks gorgeous on you.
That colour rocks my socks and if it had matching straps and band I'd be on that thing like white on rice. Maybe I should just get over it...I want a violet bra so badly and noone is showing them this spring except Krisline Fortuna :/

    • 1

It is a perfect color AprilGoulding :-) And implant friendly too!

    • 1

      You look great in it.:)

    • 1

      Thank you MagdaBras4you. :-)

    • 1

Oh man, I've been lusting after this bra since it came out. I should just go ahead and order it. Do you think a 2HC is sufficient in this bra, or would you suggest seeing if they'll make it as a 3HC? (The only other alterations I get these days is overlapping gore and straps moved in slightly).
      It looks gorgeous on you!

    • 1

Looks absolutely stunning on you. I wonder if you had a pair of wires that do follow your roots perfectly and replaced these with them if you'd maybe get a gore tack and the perfect wire width? Would that essentially make the cups deeper though? I wonder...

    • 1

That is fabulous! Yay for a beautiful, fitting bra! Im happy you have been having good comexim luck.

    • 1

Wilderness1 This is the first half cup I have tried by Comexim, so I cannot say how it compares. Sorry :-(

I can say it is gorgeous though!! I am considering ordering it again as a 3HC to compare, since it is so beautiful.

@brasaremean I am used to the no tack, since it is rare that I get a tack so I am not worried. As long as it's comfortable and doesn't look hideous then I'm happy! :-)

      @VeggieChic Thank you! :-)

    • I really love the look of this bra, it looks wonderful on you. Thanks for showing the pictures.
Unfortunately I doubt that Comexims unpadded models are an option for me as they are are rather minimizing and I am on the smaller side. Given by the little information around my size I would expect something like a "no boob" effect 😧

    • 1

      Sorry Leilani :-(

    • 1

So glad that it fits you! Soo gorgeous! <3

    • Thank you JulieCS :-)

      Don't feel bad, MamaPagan
We both are small band-ladies but on very different ends of the cup size range. So weare both screaming (you for having any options atall, I for not falling out of the sizes, because there is no "need") and having not the full range of options. Anyhow, I think I still have it a little bit easier, because I could wear some more bras. I also could try this one and I guess it would fit with rather high probability if I ignore my optical preferences. I simply like it if some breast shape is visible as German Matrix sizes gave me the "no boob" look for many many years. I am way not ready to go back to this just because the bra is sooo pretty.
So at least I can see pictures. Also, the lace pattern looks better on lager areas I think 😉

    • Understandable. We can't have them all, right? :-/

    Amore Mio

This is my second attempt at Amore Mio, as I had it prior in a 60P, which at the time of purchase fit perfectly. Since my breasts have grown, I opted to try it again during the Comexim Black Friday sale. This bra is an unpadded black lacy wired bralette. It is both sexy and girly. The lace has a two way stretch sideways, but not a four way stretch up and down. The outer section of the cup is lined with an opaque black for extra support.

    For the measurements:
All measurements are taken prior to trying the bra on to insure no figure is obscured by the ... body. I also take all flat measurements before taking the stretched cup then band measurements for the same reason.

The band measures 20” and stretches to a max of 26.25”. It has 3 hooks and 4 rows of eye loops.

    Cup Depth as measured by:
1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance.
    This measurement is: 12.75”
2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance.
    This measurement is: 16.5”

I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.

    As for fit,
My husband laughed and called me small boobies while taking photos of this one, since it does make my breasts look really small (in comparison to how they normally look.) Yes, he can be a jerk sometimes, but he keeps me well stocked in bras and I love him.

Aside from his opinion, I do love this bra, and feel it is a very nice fit. The band is perfect at 26.25” and I can actually wear it on the loosest hook-set! That is something I don’t experience ever, so it is a super nice feature.

The cups fit great, with the gore sitting 1.5 fingers off my sternum (common for me) and it is very comfortable.

The only fit issue in my opinion is that the straps do not adjust short enough for me, but I can easily shorten them so this is not a problem in my opinion. Just like with Safiya (and all Comexim bras) the wires don’t follow the curve of my breast on the outer part of the cup, but I don’t mind since it isn’t causing any pains within this bra. It’s not on my breast tissue so I am fine with it.

The only alteration requested for this bra was moving the straps inward, which I do feel was done.

I like a reduced profile. And they said big cups shouldn’t get it, ha. I’m going to get this one.

    • It is nice that's for sure!

    • 1

Great to hear that it fits well, it looks really pretty on you! I also really like this bra and its minimised profile, although the 80L I ordered against the recommendation that it doesn't work in larger sizes. Did you also get the same warning from Johanna MamaPagan, or did she change her mind on this topic? :)

JulieCS Yep! I received the same warning both times I ordered it. But it works for me!

    60Q

    Didn't fit

    Beatrice #577 in both 28KK (60P) and 28L (60Q)
This particular bra is classified as a mini long line, in an Orange color and plunge style. In person, the orange is far more “peachy” in color than the pumpkin orange I was hoping for, but still a nice looking bra. It is in the standard 2 lower vertical sections and one upper horizontal section, lightly foam lined.

I ordered it in both 60P (deeper at the wire) and 60Q, but requested to have labels on the bra as I’ve received them in the past without them, so Anna went with the UK labels due to no EU labels in ... these sizes being currently available. For the sake of simplicity and more information in one place, I am reviewing both bras together.

As many of you already know, after my last Comexim order from January of this year and stopped buying from them in my own personal Comexim boycott. When they released this Orange bra, I just couldn’t resist, so I opted to try again, submitting my order and requesting they contact me if any of the customizations couldn’t be done as requested. Anna confirmed all could indeed be done as requested.

I’ll first review the customizations, measurements then fit and overall assessment. It will be long, sorry!

All measurements are taken straight out of the box and prior to trying the bra on to insure no figure is distorted by the body. I also take all flat measurements before taking the stretched cup then band measurements for the same reason.

    Customizations requested: 28KK (60P)
Deeper at the wire (possibly done), wires from 60O (possibly done), wires overlapped at gore (really standard at this size), straps moved in 2cm (not done), reduced cup height if possible (done)

    Customizations requested: 28L (60Q)
Wires from 60O (not done), wires overlapped at gore (standard in this size), straps moved in 2cm (not done), reduced cup height if possible (done)

    On to the details!

The bands both came with 5 rows of hooks and 4 sets of eye loops. 60P measured 23.5” and stretched to 29”, while 60Q measured 23” and stretched to 28.5”. These are longer than expected since Anna sent me an email just before completion to ask specifically how long I needed them, but this is still better than the current trend for the 60 bands so I do feel she shortened them, just was conservative with it.

    Cup Depth as measured by:
1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance.
    This measurement is: 13.38” (60P) and 13.5” (60Q)

2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance.
    This measurement is: 15.5” (60P) and 16” (60Q)

I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.

The wire width was 6” on the 60P and 6.25” on the 60Q which was a bit disappointing as I requested them both to be the 60O 6” wires and Anna said that wasn’t a problem. The 60P in the past has been very inconsistent with the wires, sometimes being 6” and others 6.25” and the 60Q were 6.25” on my last order, which is just too wide for me in the Comexim shape and cut.

While it is recommended to lower the gore in this band/cup combo, I chose to not lower the gore with these bras, as I feel doing so increased the quadding. The gore height measures the same for both, 4.38”. I did request the cup height to be lowered if possible to eliminate the standard issue of extra space at the strap, and at 8.75” for 60P and 9” for 60Q, I think they were lowered a bit. The height in my standard 60P Comexim plunge bras is 9”. Normally this is perfect for me, allowing for coverage of my nipples while still providing so skin to show for more appeal.

The gore widths were ½” for 60P and .63” for 60Q. These figures are not bad, but not as overlapped as I’ve received in the past from Comexim. Anna did email stating they couldn’t overlapped them completely due to the wires being in the way, which I think was a miscommunication so I am not surprised that this was not done as requested.

For additional measurements, the vertical seam on the cup from the wire to the horizontal seam is 6.3” on the 60P, and 6.38” on the 60Q. The horizontal seam from the gore to the vertical is 6.75” on both, and from the vertical to the wing side of the cup it measures 5.25” on the 60P and 4.75” on the 60Q. The height of the cup from the horizontal seam to the top of the cup at the gore is 1.75” and 2” while at the wing it is 2.38” and 2.5” respectively. Since the horizontal seam ends in the wing area above the wire, the total measurement of this seam is much less than the actual cup depth, at 12” (60P) and 11.5” (60Q) but if you look at the projection photos, you can also see that the seam sits above the apex of the bra as well.

Now for fit! I am nearing low tide so how these fit in two weeks will be quite different. I will try to remember to update photos at that time.

Both bras are unfortunately a fail. The wires are much shorter than the wire channels, ¾” shorter on the 60P and a full 1” shorter on the 60Q. If I slide the wires all the way into the gore, the wires poke painfully under the arm, but if I slide them all the way into the wing, the gore goes from being 2 fingers off the sternum to a well over 3 finger full float. Neither is supportive or secure feeling.

The cup can’t sit in my IMF due to the strap placement & wing height/cup curve, and maybe that there just isn’t as much immediate depth as I need. While this doesn’t make this a fail by itself, it does insure the gore is sitting much lower than it should be, which compiles the other fit issues.

With this lower sitting cup, the height of the cup becomes an issue and my nipples have to be tucked back in after a swoop n scoop as they otherwise are completely outside of the cup. When I lean forward, my nipples do pop out. Since the cup height is perfect based on my other bras, I feel it is only a problem due to this strap/wing domino effect. The IMF issue is more an issue in the 60P, as the photos of the 60Q the bra looks like it’s almost in my IMF, but the side of the cup is still an issue and too wide.

While typically a 6” wire would be fine, Comexim wires are softer and since it doesn’t fill the channel, I think it distorts it more, so both bras end up being too wide as a result. It’s not terrible in the 60P, but is noticeable on my right profile photos for sure. The 6.25” wires of the 60Q are all around just too wide. This is clearly visible in the photos.

To compile the end result of the cup fit, I get a lot of center spillage and quadding in both sizes. Many of the photos hide this well especially front view, but it is very clear in some of the photos and painfully clear from my view, haha.

The bands still require the tightest hook setting but were comfortable. If the cups actually fit, the band would be great. I don’t like the look of the band from the back on the tightest hook settting though, as it looks like I have a big Y in the center of my back and it just looks off. Since I wouldn’t normally see this, haha, it really doesn’t matter, I know.

So there we have it, empty space on the sides, cup collapse on the bottom, center spillage and quadding in the top and center. Major East-West look which is not appealing on my frame. I do know some of you are thinking, “Why doesn’t she just do a reverse Swoop n Scoop?” Well, simply it doesn’t work. My breasts are closer set than these cups allow, so in turn, it would give even more of an E-W look and as soon as I moved my arms, my boobs would be in the way and pop out the front of the bra again. :/ Another issue, I would prefer to loosen the straps on this one as well, but again, I experience pop out when I do.

In regards to quality, as can be seen in the photos, this is another Comexim bra that has the outer material looser than the lining, creating a wrinkling on the material even though the cups are filled. I have not washed the bras so there is no possibility of unequal shrinkage or anything; these are straight out of the box. You can also see a nice crease in the foam liner on some of the photos thanks to traveling 2.5 weeks in the mail in a bend/collapsed position…This crease may go away once the bra sits flat and is washed, but I cannot say for sure. Aside for these two complaints, I don’t see any quality issues.

I also ordered the matching panty in a Small. The small range is supposed to be for 85-93cm, yet these only stretch to a max of 82cm. The other Comexim panties I have tried were more TTS to being on the larger side so I was a bit surprised that these are so small. While I can squeeze them on over my hips easier that I expected, I do get that less than idea muffin top look so these are a fail as well.

Needless to say I am disappointed all around with this order, and since this was my “give them another try” I can now be confident it will be my last. Such a bummer as I do love their patterns, and the owner of Comexim, Anna, is such a sweet and caring person. I just think the communication gets lost or ignored once it hits the seamstresses, so even when Anna puts in a lot of extra effort to insure my happiness and a great fit, it doesn’t result in getting the job done as stated. I will not be complaining to Anna about it this time, as she refunded my last order due to the disregard of customizations, and I don’t want her to do that again. She did personally put in the time to try and work through the details, and she is very caring about her workers, so stating the issues this time around I just don’t think will really solve anything so it’s better left unsaid. I just think the seamstresses have a difficult time imagining the width vs depth ratio of these sizes. ☹ I know Comexim bras work beautifully for many women, but for me at my current size, they just don’t work. I just need the more upfront and fuller coverage the Ewa bras offers. And thus my love for Ewa bras ensues……

That is a lot of extra fabric on the top of the cups. They really don't know how to make cups in this size, and that is quite sad. It's a lovely colour, I wish it had worked out better for you. :(

    • 1

Oh gosh, it's beautiful but that is a disappointing fit! I wonder if you could have asked for longer wires and such :/

    • 1

OMG IT'S GORGEOUS!!!!!! You totally know women would kill to get this kind of a look right? lol
I totally agree that it's East West look on you. And it is most assuredly as plungey as it gets!
I think you are totally right about Comexim seamtresses just not being as well informed (i dont feel thats the best word to use here, but the only one i can think of at the moment) on how a larger busted, smalled ribbed ladies proportions work.
I do wonder if you had gone through all of that with a non-padded bra if it would have fit better? Or maybe you could switch out the wires for a firmer pair that do not distort quite as much to make it more comfortable for you to wear.
Perhaps instead of emailing her about the fit not being quite the way you wanted, perhaps you could email her about possibly making a different pattern for her seamstresses to follow for the larger busted, smaller framed women? Their patterns are definitely more suited to your smaller, medium busted women.

    • 1

Btw, I'm totally in love with your tats.

    • 1

      Thank you all.
@Brasaremean given they haven't honored my requests for the narrow wires on my last two orders, I honestly don't think I would get taller wires without getting wider wires in the process. Too much off with fit to be confident with a Comexim solution for me.

I just think Comexim doesn't do large cup/small band well, at least not at this end of the spectrum. No worries though as Ewa works well for me.

@LeProfessor I have tried the their sheer in both 60P deeper at the wire and 60Q. Equal amount of issues:

      https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dis3r/
      https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dis3m/
      https://www.bratabase.com/bra/disja/

With the last order I went back and forth with Anna for days trying to work though the issues and it didn't get resolved. Comexim just isn't for me.

Hope you all enjoyed the Calluna worthy photo stock. ;-) (with loves Calluna, I told you that you weren't the only one with millions of photos!!)

    • 1

Ah, shame. Maybe there's a language barrier there even though it doesn't seem like it :/

    • 1

No one at Comexim speaks English@ brasaremean, they use a translator so yes, some things get lost in transition I'm sure. Yet Anna is really good about communicating back and forth and I tend to over explain, so I really think it's more of a not understanding the projection vs width need at this size. So many brands are stuck on larger breasts equal wider, so most bras do the same. Ewa is the only one who seems to have it down actually.

So instead of complaining to Comexim and upsetting Anna, I think I will just let it go and send Ewa a thank you for making bras that do work for me instead. Comexim is always so busy, I know Anna has plenty of other things to focus on, so I don't need to draw her attention away from other things of more importance really. Let her focus on other sizes, as there are plenty of unique combinations that need Comexim bras more than I do.

    • Another thought. I am starting to wonder if they reduced the gore height instead of cup height. That would result in a slightly lower cup at the center, explain the extreme plunge and the super tall cup at the strap......hummmm maybe......?

    • 2

Yea fickle as Ewa is I'm very thankful at least I have bras that will 100% fit without a doubt, and with each bra I get I send a huge thank you to them!

    • 1

very thorough review! That's sad that it didn't work out, the pattern/colour on this one is pretty.

But yes, at least there's Ewa

    • Thank you Frazzleberry : -)

    • Okay! So I pulled out my 60P Graffiti to compare with the new Beatrice 60P/28KK.

My Graffiti was ordered with straps moved in, an extra row of eye loops and regular band instead of long line, so closest to standard direct from Comexim

The wires were 5.88” wide, but the wires filled the channel completely, at 13”, Placing Graffiti over Beatrice at the wire, you can see that the gore height is the same as Beatrice, so the gore was not lowered on Beatrice. The wing is also the same height, but the straps are definitely moved in on Graffiti, and you can tell that Beatrice was not. In fact with Graffiti placed over Beatrice, you can see that Beatrice was actually made with a raised cup height instead of reduced, which is why it looks so off. Also, by placing Graffiti over Beatrice, I can say that Beatrice does not have deeper at the wire resulting in more immediate projection as Graffiti has the same depth at the wire.
While I originally measured Graffiti at 14.5”, it fits perfectly outside Beatrice minus the narrower wires, so I re-measured Graffiti and it now measures to 15.5” as well. I guess my breasts have stretched the cups out……With putting that one on, I do get a lot of quadding (which was why I put it into storage in the first place) but I do not get that outer empty cup space as the wires are perfect for my breasts. The quadding unfortunately is enough to be seen under a sweatshirt though, so it still isn’t wearable, but that’s expected. I had to try it though since it was out anyway, right? Haha! If I could just get an extra ½-1” on those cups without widening the cups, I’d think I would have a wonderful fit in Comexim.

Here's the compare, with bra over bra photos at the bottom of the photo page.:

:-) Does anyone else view bras like pieces to this whole "fitting" puzzle?

    • 2

The fit on their longlines is really wonky to begin with, even in smaller sizes (I mean.. I was never *small* per se but I like a 70M or so was the smallest longline I tried and that wasn't too far outside their standard range.) They're really wide and shallow and because there's stretchy fabric all around it makes the gore really widen out (part of why its so shallow). If you notice, the gore looks less plungy when you're not wearing it and I think that's in theory how its supposed to fit. I think that she just doesn't know how to make bras for larger sizes and doesn't have strong enough materials for it, but I also think that like 90% of the fit problems of their longlines overall are because the entire front panel stretches too. In general, people seem to have very limited success with Comexim's longline bras. The best fitting one I had (because I kept trying even though they didn't work) was the Florence, which uses a nonstretch fabric as the overlay so that sorta supports my theory

    • kermitdafrog21 I do agree, but after my last growth spurt, I haven't been able to get any Comexim bra to work, padded or sheer, regular band or longline. The 60Ps are too small with a lot of quadding, even when ordered with deeper at the wire (tried this on 4 bras.) Yet the 60Q is just too wide so I get center spillage and quadding (due to shallowness &/or premature cut in?) yet the outer cup is empty and wide. Not a comfortable fit or appealing look.
If I recall, you experienced the same with their regular bras as well?

Yay for thorough reviews and oodles of pictures!

    • 2

Well, I can see why you were tempted- gorgeous bra! Thank you for the thorough review, it is educational to us all (certainly me!) What a disappointment that it didn't work. There is truly crazy amount of fabric in your armpit area. The language barrier is truly an issue, but I wonder if it would be worthwhile to send her your review. Tell her you dont need her to do anything for you, but that you thought it would be interesting for her to read a review of the bra in a size that they probably dont make very frequently... for the common good and her "bra science"...

    • 1

I totally agree with veggiechic ! Perhaps instead of writing anna back to get any money or anything, perhaps writing her back and explaining things and maybe offering to work with her on a pattern for larger bust , small banded women. MamaPagan you know SO much about bras, their construction and what is required of a bra in the area of the fit table you might as well be making patterns. And I know you got spreadsheets of measurements and fit information! You are TOTALLY qualified to assist a bra/pattern maker in creating well fitting bras for bustier women. You prolly know more than most bra makers do if I'm honest!

and in my head is spinning all the reasons why women of this day LOOK for this sort of look and fit in a bra...which also coincides with why when most women start their bra journey they are obsessed with having extremely high wings and cup sides...because they're so used to all their tissue being pushed back under their arms they need the wider/taller bra to support the arm breast while still remaining comfortable and giving them victorias secret-esque cleavage....and that's just one of the thoughts going in my head.

And maybe not all is lost, lol. You now have a short-term-wear, gorgeous bra that you can put on under something very low cut or very sheer to make everyone jealous about that fantastic figure of yours. :-P

    • Thank you Calluna ☺ and Thank you veggiechic & LeProfessor. I do understand what you’re saying and it is all very valid points. With my last order fiasco, I did send an email to Anna. I didn’t ask for a refund or replacement or anything. I just voiced my issues, and she automatically refunded me. We went back and forth many times discussing the fit issues etc, with my typical 4 page replies detailing everything out and photos at every angle outlining the fit concerns. The issue is Anna takes any criticism personally even though it’s not an insult of her. She is very protective and caring for her seamstress crew, and feels they work very hard and poor their hearts into their work, so anything that could be construed as a criticism does hurt her. Add that she doesn’t speak English herself, and from our conversations I gathered it was Google translate, I think she may logically get lost in the translation of my over explanations. Add that after all the back and forth last time and still having her contact me and us discussing the customizations with this order before it was completed, they still were not done as requested, I am confident that the translation of “I need…” vs “I want ….” is lost or ignored by the seamstress crew. I can’t say it’s on purpose as in “Oh, she couldn’t possibly want or need that” and thus ignored, or just a lack of understanding the dimensions of this size and switching requests by mental default in thinking. All I know is that I got the exact same wire width in the 60Q that I complained about last time which is illogical, and the customizations that I was told were completely understood were not done. In fact based on the Graffiti comparison I really think the cups were raised instead of lowered, haha.

If I could actually physically be there, I think it would make a difference, but a trip to Poland for a bra fitting is not a possibility at this point in my life. ☺

Plus, my needs would vary from others, so even if I could get my bras perfected, a standard pattern based on my boobs wouldn’t necessarily work for other breasts, haha.

Breakout Bras stocks Comexim bras up to a 60S/UK 28M, so I can only assume they do actually have customers who buy them, so honestly they must have some experience with the range, right? As we’ve discussed on the open forum recently, the Breakout Bras Comexim vs actual Comexim direct bras do appear to be made differently, but the BB ones do appear to be made differently and smaller in the cup, so….. I just don’t know what to assume any more.

I do believe that a big part of the Comexim dilemma is that after ordering standard, changing sizes, ordering standard, changing sizes, ordering standard, then customizing, assuming the requested customizations were done, and adjusting customization requests based on that assumption, each order got further from the actual request. It didn’t help when my breasts decided to change again, adding another wrench into the mix.

With the last order in January, Anna told me that they gave me the 6.25” due to that fact that it was the same wire that was used in my order prior, even though I had specifically requested a narrower wire. So, it was an issue of not complaining from the beginning about fit issues resulted in them just using the prior specification and ignoring the new requests. I really thought that after the long discussion with my January order and the follow up with this order that this misconception would have been worked out, but it clearly was not.

As we have discussed lately about the emotional challenges during this time of year, I do not want to address an issue that will cause her emotional pain, especially when I am confident it will not get resolved. I don’t want her to incur an additional expense of returns/refund/or remake, but I also don’t want to spend more money on bras that I am not confident will work, especially when I can get a great fit with Ewa. Sure it would be wonderful to have a second brand option, but it really isn’t needed for me. I know this is a business transaction, but I still feel compassion and understanding should still be considered, even if others would see it as a weakness.

Plus, would you want Anna and her very small overworked team to be focusing on my odd needs during the busy season, or have them be focused on fulfilling orders for other sizes that they can make well? I am really okay with it. I did try, and I know that Anna did as well, so I am not mad. It just wasn’t meant to be. (I sound like we just broke up, haha!)

Seriously though, I do appreciate the support you all have given me, and the wonderful suggestions. If I can figure out a way to innocently/non-offensively ask Anna for the list of customizations done on each of my orders so I can compare the fit and adjust my requests accordingly for next time, then I will send her an email with that, but I will wait until after the holidays for sure.

And thank you very much LeProfessor for your confidence in my knowledge. <3 I really do appreciate that; I do try and see everything from all perspectives though I know I am far from an expert. Always the student, never the master of any trade! And I’ll have to do some creative alterations to allow these to be wearable, as when I bend over my nipples pop out. “Surprise!” would be an understatement, haha!

    • Oh! One more thought. Since the gore wires are sitting 3/4"-1" below the top of the gore, the gore is actually being pushed off the sternum which adds to the extra deep plunge look when on. The fabric at the gore looks more like "7C" (the 7 being fabric and the C my breasts) instead of flat due to boob resistance and lack of wire.

    • 1

I think your decision to not buy any more Comexim is very wise. You tried (over and over) and so did they, I'm sure, but it was just a manufacturer/customer mismatch and really that's all there is to it. Why waste their money and their time and resources when you have a perfectly viable option in EM!

    • 1

I did the "armpit curve surgery" (lowering the curve without moving the straps) and added a comfort pad (aka folded piece of fabric) over the wire end. New photos added to show the difference. I didn't swoop n scoop either but I think that actually helps with fit so it might be a new plan for this bra. I haven't worn it aside from trying it on post bra surgery, so I don't know if the fabric will help with the wire dig in under the arms, but the side of the cup is perfect now. The wires are still too wide but possibly wearable now, though I still don't know if I'd want to bend over in it haha!

    • 1

      Is it comfy?

    • 1

I won't know until I wear it for a few hours. I only put it on to test the "surgery" success & take a few photos. I will wear it soon though & try to remember to report back. But at least the armpit isn't pushing against the cup anymore and the resulting side wrinkling is gone! :-D

    • 2

Yea I would say it looks a lot lot better!

    • 1

I thought so too. :-) Bra salvage is always a good & happy thing!

    • I put this one on this morning, but had to take it off after 5 minutes due to the wires under the arm. Tried bending them out but it didn't help. Felt around near the wire and realize without the swoop n scoop, they are indeed sitting on breast tissue, yet with swoop n scoop, the boobs flop out if I lean forward so this one isn't going to work at all..... Bummer. But hey, at least I tried!

    • 2

A couple of weeks ago I opted for "test bra surgery" session 2, where I narrowed the gore and shortened the band as a result. I also widened the wires to a lazy J - think Ewa SF wire shape.

While it isn't perfect, I was able to wear this one yesterday without pain and if I don't Swoop n Scoop my breasts stay in the cucupI do have to have the straps looser but less support is better than pain at the moment.

It was my first pain-free day in 3 flippin' weeks.

It's ironic that my only doable bra at the moment is Comexim, haha.

    • 2

I'm glad the alterations worked ;)

    • 2

Thank you. :-) It's not a pretty alteration, haha, but it's not painful either so I'm happy with it. :-)

    • 2

Hurray! Comexim bras always seem easier to DIY than EM.

    • 1

Indeed! I wouldn't be able to bend Ewa wires like that, or attempt the gore narrowing. (Then again, usually Ewa bras are narrow enough so....) Today, as I struggle with my second Ewa bra for the day in pain, I am loving Comexim!! Unfortunately the other 60Q Comexims I have did not work, but maybe the new ones will fare better.... :-)

  4. Vogue Purple Longline (495)

    60Q

    Fits

Vogue Purple Longline in 28L (60Q)
Vogue Purple is a full lace longline bra with black light foam under-cups for support. I have tried this bra prior in a 65N, and also as a regular band bra in a 60P prior. My band came unlined, though I have seen prior versions that were lined.

I ordered this one direct from Comexim, with a raised gore (2cm) and straps moved in 2.5cm. Since I want a label on my bras I also requested they use the UK bra label, as they don’t stock 60Q labels but they do have the UK equivalents for their Breakout Bras bras. I do feel ... my customizations were done, as my Vogue Purple 60P had a 3” gore height, and this one is 4.3” and the straps do not feel like they are in my armpits.

    For the technical details:
All measurements are taken prior to trying the bra on to insure no figure is obscured by the body. I also take all flat measurements before taking the stretched cup then band measurements for the same reason.

The band measures 23.25” and stretches to a max of 28”. It has 5 hooks and 4 rows of eye loops. All but one of the hooks are below the elastic on the band, so ultimately, this bra is being supported by only one hook and reliant on the unsupported lace for the rest of the support. The lack of stretch on this one is nice for me, but quite surprising since it is unlined.

    Cup Depth as measured by:
1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance.
    This measurement is: 13.25”
2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance.
    This measurement is: 16”

I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.

The cup height (as measured on the inner black foam cups and not the outer purple lace) is 9.5” while the gore is 4.3” to the bottom of the cups and the wing is 5.55” to the elastic on the band, not to the base of the lace. Like with Chevron, this one has 6” wide cups, which is wonderful!!

    As for fit,
The straps do not adjust long enough, and you can see on the back photo that the strap area is actually wrinkled due to not being tight. I will need to shorten the straps before I can attempt to wear this for more than a few minute trial.

I feel that the hook/eye loop placement on this one (at least in my size) is of poor design, as it is not putting the support on the band at level with the cups, but well below it at the lace beyond the elastic. I am not sure how this one will fare with all day wear, but feel I will not be supported and will have back pains by day’s end. I will most likely order this one again, but as a regular bra so that the band holds the support of the breasts instead.

The black undercups actually cover my nipples (not the case on my prior attempts with Vogue Purple) which is a plus and hopefully this is help stop the cup collapse as experienced in the prior versions. The gore sits just over one finger off my sternum, which is about as close to tacking as I can get, so I am pleased with this as well. The cups feel like they are bordering on being too big, but this could just be due to the loose straps and the hook/eye loop placement. With this, I am sure it will make a good high tide bra for me, which is a difficult one for me to find.

Really aside from the strap length, I am actually pleased with this one. I did only have it on for about 5 minutes for a quick fit assessment, but it did feel comfortable for those five minutes. I will update if this assessment changes with wear.

    Chevron 60Q (28L)

This is my 4th attempt at Chevron for Comexim. I really like the colors and pattern. I have previously tried Chevron in 65M, 65N, and 60P, and you can see those reviews for specifics, but I will cover a bit of the technical details in comparison here in this review.

The Chevron is a padded standard plunge bra with light foam padded cups but no removable cookies or cookie pockets. The print is a lovely Chevron zigzag pattern of purple, green, blue, and pink, with solid black on the top of the cups. Since Comexim doesn’t stock the 60Q label, I requested that they put the ... UK equivalent as I want labels on my bras, so this one has a 28L label instead of the 60Q even though it was purchased directly from Comexim.

    Now on to the technicals!

All measurements are taken prior to trying the bra on to insure no figure is obscured by the body. I also take all flat measurements before taking the stretched cup then band measurements for the same reason.

The band measures 22.5” flat and stretches to a max of 28”. It has 3 hooks and 4 rows of eye loops.

    Cup Depth as measured by:
1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance.
    This measurement is: 13.75”
2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance.

The cup height is 9.25”, with the gore being 0.5” wide and 4.25” tall. The cup width is 6”. Yes, 6”! I did not request the 6” wires for the first time in my 60Q attempts, and I actually ended up getting them this time, go figure. Woohoo!

I requested my gore to be raised 2cm, and at first I thought it was done, until Sovavosi asked me how much they actually raised it, haha. My Chevron 60P gore was 4.15” high unaltered, so I can say that my gore wasn’t raised as 4.25” is a logical difference for the 60Q.

I also requested the straps to be moved in 2.5cm, and while I cannot say this was the actual distance they were moved in, I can confidently say that they were indeed moved in as this placement is not standard for the 60Q. Based on where they sit on my shoulders, I would guess it was moved in 2cm.

To compare the 60Q to the 60P, 65N, and 65M:
60Q Band 22.5-28” max with 3 hooks/4 rows; Cups 13.75 flat to 16” max stretched, height 9.25”, gore 4.25”, wing 5.25” Straps moved in 2.5cm

60P Band 21.5-30” max with 3hook/4 rows; Cups 12” flat to 14.5” max stretched, height 9”, gore 4.15”, wing 5.25” Straps moved in 2cm

65N Band 22.5-32” max with 3 hook/3 rows; Cups 11.5” flat to 14” max stretched, height 8.5’, gore 3.25”, wing 5.5” no customizations

    65M Band 22.5-31” max with 3 hooks/3rows Cups 11.5” flat to13.5” max stretched, height 8”, gore 3.5”, wing 4.5” no customizations

    As for fit,
Straight out of the box I was convinced the cups were too big, as they really looked huge, but they actual fit nicely. Hello mirror morph & magic boobs, haha.

Strap placement is perfectly fine, but the armpit curve is too straight instead of curving around the arm, causing the arms to push the cups off the breasts at the strap area slightly. This is still wearable as is and not as bad as with Beatrice, and I can lower the curve to prevent this fairly easily, so this is not really an issue.

Aside for the armpit curve, the gore sits 2.5 fingers off my sternum, and while I understand this would technically make this one not a “fit” especially as I would have a decent amount of quadding if I forced a tack, if I can wear this without any pains or quadding regardless of where the gore sits, then it is a good fit.

This one is also comfortable on the tightest hook-set, which is typical for me, so again, not a fit issue in my opinion.

This is the best fitting Comexim attempt in a long time. I don’t get the center spillage or flop out, and my breasts feel secure in the cup even when I lean forward which is very nice. I only wore this for about 5 minutes for a quick assessment, so if my initial fit views change with all day wear, I will give an update.

I am glad that I placed this order with the raised gore request, even if I didn’t get it, as whatever they did was practically perfect for fit. I just hope they can recreate it in the future as I would love to order some more Comexim bras now!!

I was quite nervous, as I placed this order and less than 3 days later it shipped. Yet even with the lightning processing speed, I feel this order was closest to getting a good fit from Comexim, and the first time in a long time that I feel my customizations were honored as requested, for the most part.

I think that it’s fantastic on you, aside from the armpit curve. I wonder if it can be altered to be a little less material.

    • Thank you both! I am very happy with it, and I can lower that curve fairly easily so it won't be an irritant. :-)

Awesome, I love this print too! It is great that you are already comfortable lowering the armpit curve, so that you can make this just right for you.

    • 1

veggiechic. A lot of trial and error with the armpit, haha. I used to think it was just too wide set straps, but I realized it's usually more of that damn curve instead of the actual strap placement. The car "jumping the curb" instead of "rounding the corner" thing, you know?

    • 1

MamaPagan if I simply want to move the straps inward for 2cm, what fit impact can I expect, except the comfort of straps not chafing my tail of spence?.. Please advise....

    • 1

Shrisowmya That would depend on the fit you have in their standard (no alterations) cup really. Moving the straps in will get them out of your armpit, but also remove any arm /armpit resistances you may be experiencing as well. If your arms are pushing the cups forward, moving the straps in can end up resulting in the cup being too small when that resistance is eliminated.

The best way to tell would be to put their standard bra on (no customizations) without the straps on. With a proper swoop n scoop, does the breast tissue stay in the cup or does it spill out the top? (You may need to hold the cups up with your fingers lifting where you would ideally have the straps to simulate the strap lift.) If the cups are overflowing without the straps on, you will experience the same once the straps are moved in.

I have added new pictures & do believe if I ever get around to lowering the armpit curve & shortening the band, that this one will fit without the wrinkling.

*8/11/18 update: I shortened the band to 21" and lowered the cup curve under the arms. While the wires are still too wide and the wing too tall, I can wear it. I still get a bit of quadding but it's not too bad. I will add new photos (if I remember) when I wear it.

**12/15/18 So this one was put away since I never wore it, but I pulled it out to try again. Unfortunately my boobs grew (or the bra shrunk) as there is a lot of quadding now..... https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":-(" /> Added updated photos

8/11/18 update: I finally pulled this out of storage & shortened the band and lowered the cup curve. While the wires are still too wide (& wing too tall), the bra is now wearable. I'll add new photos (if I remember) when I wear it. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" /> New band measurements are 21.5" to 29" max.
