For You is a wireless unpadded triangle bralette. Its design is very simple, like a triangle bikini top, with a singular wide strip of elastic for the band.
While I ordered this one in a 60Q (28L) they sent a bra with a 28LL label, or size 60R instead. That being said, I don’t think it is a 60R based on the size of the cups and their fit. Honestly, I’d peg it as a 60P max, or more realistically a 65O when factoring in the band.
For the measurements: All measurements are taken prior to trying the bra on to insure no figure is ...obscured by the body. I also take all flat measurements before taking the stretched cup then band measurements for the same reason.
The band measures 21.125” and stretches to a max of 30”. It has 2 hooks and 4 rows of eye loops.
Cup Depth as measured by: 1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance. This measurement is: 11” 2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance. This measurement is: 13”
I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.
While these figures are very small for my range, by nature of the open cup formation and wirelessness, these figures are a bit misleading and don’t reflect the true cup depth availability. As mentioned above, I feel this bra is more of a 65O/60P max, not a 60Q/60R for sure.
As for fit, The band feels fine on the tightest hookset, but does not offer any support due to the nature of the single elastic band with minimal attachment. This means that all the support comes from the straps. The straps are barely long enough as I have them completely let out, they feel tighter than I would prefer and force the band to sit higher on my back than it should. Yet, as mentioned, they are the only source of support so any looser and the bra would be useless for anything aside from modesty. The gore area is well over 4 fingers off the sternum (yes I can stick my whole hand perpendicular to my sternum and still not have my hand touch the bra), but this is expected given how small the cups are & their construction. I get cut in (in cup quadding) where the lace connects to the other material on the cups at the seams. Again, expected due to the size of the cups. Overall, I think I can still wear it as a reading in bed lounge bra on hot summer nights where I want my nips covered but don’t want a shirt on, though it honestly wouldn’t serve any other purpose. While I could complain about not getting the 60Q size I ordered, I would hate to think how small it would be if this one was not a mistake in sizing. Bottom line, it is not worth the complaint, as I feel a replacement wouldn’t fare any better. Read more 504 more words
This bra is still awful and is somehow better and worse than the one I got. Sorry it didn’t work.
I know! At least I can see value for it on those hot & humid MidWestern summer nights. 😄
I didn't add the back photo because it sits so high, it created back fat (or a lot of side boob?) under my arms that is not an appealing look at all. 😬
Oh, but it is SOOOO pretty. I hope you can at least wear it in bed or lounging.
As I was reading your review, I had the same thought as Sovavosi - despite it not fitting you, it somehow still sounded better than how it fit on me :))
I am determined to get some use out of it, even if just as a double sling shot for water balloons this summer 😄.
I do wonder who this works on. It has to fit someone beautifully right?
I think this one was intended only as a pretty covering. Maybe it’s only for folks with small to medium size breasts.
Yup...I have no faith in bralettes. Even sized ones. I have a custom one and after an hour I am falling out of it. Those with a lot of coverage, more like sports bra type thing work, but then I'd rather just wear a spandex-laden tank top. I'm sticking to wires.
My favorites at the moment are Decent Exposures. Wireless, comfortable, and yet still supportive. Wonderful alternative to the daily wire. Sure it doesn't qualify as sexy, haha, but better than a sports bra for lazy lounge days!
Sovavosi it could be, or maybe it's meant as a late post date night piece, for minimal wear time. It would serve well for that purpose. :-/
Sugar Plum is a purple lacey unpadded bralette. It normally comes as a Longline, but I ordered it as a regular band, assuming it would fit like my Amore Mio which I love. Like with Amore Mio, I ordered the 60Q for most days, and also the 60R for my swelling days where the 60Q just doesn’t quite work. I am reviewing both the 60Q and 60R Sugar Plum together here for simplicity and easier comparison of the data. Like Amore Mio, these also have quite the minimizing effect, which serves its own purpose.
For modifications, I ordered both of these as a regular band (as stated above,) with the straps moved in and the wire channel completely overlapped at the top of the gore to accommodate my narrow frame and close set breasts. I also requested that they use the same wires as were used in my 60Q Amore Mio which are perfect. While they did overlap the top of the gore and make them with a regular band, they did not honor the other requests, in fact the wires were over an inch wider which is beyond disappointing and completely changes the fit of the cups. My only other request was that if the 60Q and 60R labels were not available, that they use the UK 28L and 28LL instead as I wanted labels on my bras. They don’t stock the 60Q/R labels and I have received bras with no label in the past which I do not care for.
For the measurements: All measurements are taken prior to trying the bra on to insure no figure is obscured by the body. I also take all flat measurements before taking the stretched cup then band measurements for the same reason.
The band of the 60Q (28L) measures 20.125” and stretches to a max of 29.25”. The 60R measures 20” and stretches to 28.5”. Both have 3 hooks and 3 rows of eye loops. This is not the standard from what I’ve received, as most of their bras I have received come with the 4 rows of eye loops.
Cup Depth as measured by: 1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance. This measurement is: 13” on the 60Q and 13.5” on the 60R 2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance. This measurement is: 18” on 60Q & 18.5” on 60R
As for fit, With some modifications (shortening the straps and band) I think I can make these wearable, though the wires are ridiculously wide. My Amore Mio 60Q had wonderful 6” wires and a 26.25” max stretched band. These both have 7.125” wires and 29.25” & 28.5” stretched bands. As with all the bralettes, the top area above the breast is wrinkly but that doesn’t affect fit or comfort. If the wide wires become problematic, I may attempt to switch them out for narrower ones.
Oddly enough, the 60Q fits looser than the 60R, which could be due to the looser band on the 60Q. Even my husband said that the 60Q was the larger bra when taking photos, and was surprised when I told him that technically it was the smaller size.
Overall I am disappointed in all 4 of the bras in this order, but know it could have been worse. At this point I am optimistic that I can alter the bras to make them workable, but will not order any more Comexim bras due to the inconsistency of the wires and bands. I just do not find this acceptable.
Compared to Amore Mio in 60Q (28L), these are so disappointing. The 60Q Amore was perfect. The only issue was during hormonal swelling, the cups were too small so that’s why I ordered the 60R for those days, and the Sugar Plum in both sizes to cover the same. Yet the wires of the 60R Amore and both Sugar Plums are over an inch wider than my 60Q Amore. The bands are 2.25-3” longer than Amore 60Q as well. My last two Comexim orders were made with care, and Anna had insured the bands were short and the wires were narrow. This order, none of that which is so disappointing. Why can’t they just be consistent?!?
For Comparision photos, Amore Mio in 60Q can be found here: http://bra.pe/X0Ks/
As a side note for those interested in the Comexim longline bras like this one is intended to be, I have noticed that they place the hook sets too low in the back of the larger cups, which is below the support area of the band. The stock photos typically show the back as a straight line, while in the larger cups (and smaller bands at least) the back is in the standard band V shape instead. This makes them not supportive, so keep this in mind when considering them. But any longline can be ordered with a regular band which does place the support in line with the bottom of the band and wires as is needed. Read more 873 more words
They forgot about the order & when I complained about orders placed weeks after mine being fulfilled & received, they threw my order together & shipped..... That's what I figure happened at least, since it's the same as the last time I complained about shipping delays. 😬😖😬
Amore Mio 60R (28LL) Amore Mio is a dainty lace bralette in black. Only the outer lower area is lined with a thin fabric for support, while the rest of the bralette is just stretch lace. There is no padding what so ever. It is not for the modest who want to hide their nipples as they are very visible in this one.
This is my 3rd attempt at Amore Mio, as I had it prior in a 60P & 60Q (28L). My 60Q still fits on most days, but during hormonal swelling, the cups are too small. Since I love that bralette (it is truly my most comfortable bra) ...I wanted the option of wearing it on those swell days as well, so I ordered it in the 60R this time.
For modifications, I ordered the straps moved in and the wire channel completely overlapped at the top of the gore to accommodate my narrow frame and close set breasts. I also requested that they use the same wires they used in my 60Q Amore Mio which were perfect. The band measures 21.5” and stretches to a max of 29””. It has 3 hooks and 3 rows of eye loops. To compare, Amore in 60Q which was 20” to max of 26.25” and had 4 rows of eye loops. So one cup up they opted to make the band 2.75” longer……
Cup Depth as measured by: 1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance. This measurement is: 12.75” 2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance. This measurement is: 16.75”
I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands.
To compare, Amore 60Q was 12.75” to a max of 16.5”so minimal difference in depth. Additional measurements, the wires are 7.125” wide compared to the 6” on Amore 60Q. Seriously, the wires are 1.125” wider.
As for fit, First I must say again just how much I love my Amore Mio in 60Q. It is the perfect bra. It is so comfortable that I can wear it on long car rides and all day shopping trips without any pains what so ever. The bra was perfect.
This 60R (along with both Sugar Plums in this order) is so disappointing. While I can most likely modify them to work, the wires are ridiculously wide and do throw the fit of the cups & overall support off, making this one nothing like my beloved Amore 60Q. I am so, so disappointed.
My last two Comexim orders were made with care, and Anna had insured the bands were short and the wires were perfectly narrow. This order, complete opposite. Why can’t they just be consistent?!?
While I am done buying bras for quite a while (shifted my priorities) I can honestly say that Comexim will not be a contender when I do buy bras again, as such differences are not acceptable.
This bra is still awful and is somehow better and worse than the one I got. Sorry it didn’t work.
