This is another Hot Chocolate from Breakout Bras' recent final sale. BoB apparently custom orders special tags from Comexim with UK sizing, as 34K is the only size shown on the tag or label. Their recommendation is to size up two cups from your regular UK size, or one for more "vavoom." I usually wear a 34J and they happened to have one left at 34K, so I snagged it to try.
By the measurements, it looks like this would be the right size for me - it's pretty close to a 34J Elomi Morgan in cup width, depth, and height. In actuality it doesn't fit. With some ...extra scooping and swooping I *just about* fill out the cups, but the shape is all wrong for me. It spreads out horizontally and makes my breasts look like round sourdough loaves, lol. I measured the top lip of the cup from gore to strap, and it was just over 9.5", whereas the Morgan is only 6", so I think this would work better for someone who needs a lot more width on the top? The cups and the gore seemed like they were tipped forward, like there wasn't enough tension on the top of the band. The gore was far from tacking and the bra gave me a little bit of butt-crack cleavage. This is the first seamed, padded bra I have ever owned, and the other one I recently tried, the CK Day Dreamer, has a similar shape and lean, so I don't know if this is kind of how this style is typically cut.
The stretched band measured 36", but even though that is my approximate loose underband measurement, I couldn't even clasp it without an elastic extender.
I double and triple checked the cup width, because on paper it's the same as the Morgan, but the Hot Chocolate cuts across breast tissue on the sides, at least when my arms are down. If I lift my arms up, it follows the curve perfectly. Guess I'll have to walk around like that, haha. The wires slid down as much as any (all) other bras on me and the shape lost some of its lift. Despite all this, it was perfectly comfortable over a few hours wear. It's also a looker with a black mesh covered with a rich, warm rust-brown colored lace. But not to be for me. *I was not able to measure the bras before returning, mostly because t was before I was active on Bratabase*
I know Comexim is a favorite. I know a lot of people love these bras. I unfortunately was not pleased with it at all. It may have been the wrong choice for my shape, but the fit as so awkward! I took Breakout Bras’s recommendations on sizing up, but I either sized too far up or it was just a horrid shape mismatch all around.
For one thing, this bra is lightly padded. Padding and my boobs apparently do not mix. I filled the bottom okay, but the top ...gapped SO BAD. The actual bra itself is super cute, I love the little bees and that’s what sold me on trying it out.
Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for me. I’m not sure if I would try Comexim again, but if I do, it’ll definitely be one of their unlined models. I’ll have to research my sizing for the brand as well.
This review is for a Comexim Ivonne 75O custom ordered size without modification. This is my second Comexim bra, and it is a big fail in sizeing choice, much worse fit than my first comexim which was a 75N Snow , which I reviewed here: http://www.bratabase.com/chest/di4vc/review/
I have very soft pendulous boobs with narrow roots. Since my previous review I gained a bit wait and of course all went to my boobs and went up a cupize. My underbust remained the same almost 33", and overbust now is ~47-48" depending of the of the month. Which means I just broke the K ...cup barrier and I am now ~34KK/32L UK size. So the fit will be based on this size.
1. Ordering This was quite annoying. I ordered my first Comexim by exchanging emails and got the bra in January , and I was eager to get another one. I emailed them in January 29 in Polish to order an Ivonne 75O with no modification. I got a reply saying no problem in English a few days later, and I was grateful for switching language. I replied and said just send the invoice to my email as they did previously. I know they work on a monthly cycle and only charge when they ready to ship , so I was patiently waiting. After more than 5 weeks, still no shipping notice email ,and no invoice , so I emailed them that what is going on. I got an answer that I should submit an online order on the website and put the requested custom size in the comment. What a wasted 6 weeks! I submit an order online on March 14 and selected the largest cupsize in my bandsize 75K and put a note in the comment that I like a custom size 75O and paid with paypal . After 3.5 weeks I got a shipping notice and it took ~3 weeks to receive it as I live in Canada . So I got the bra 3 months after I first contacted them. Lesson learnt, I need to submit the order online so I can pay it and ensure the order actually happening.
2. Fit - Band The band is firm and much tighter than my 75N Snow, which fits me perfectly , but this needs an extender. However, their size chart on the website puts my 82.5 cm underbust at the larger end of 80 or between 80- and 85, so the band is actually true to their size chart.
3. Fit - Cup/Gore This bra is waay to small for me, like probably more than 3 cupsizes small and hence gore not tacking and fit is terrible. While my 75N Snow also a bit small in the cup, the plunge design doesn't cut into my boobs on that one and still can wear it. White this is theoretically one cup bigger than my Snow , the balcony design without stretch cuts my boobs into half leading to a terrible quadboob. While my Snow arrived with a handwritten tag, this one arrived with no tag. Since I ordered online selecting 75K in the drop box with a note asking for 75O size, I actually have no way knowing that they honored my size request, or it is terrible small because they ignored my comment, and sent my what I selected online the 75K.
4. Straps/ Underwire It has nice wide and comfy cushioned straps , great support, but still won't dig in. the underwire soft and narrow just like my other Comexim.
5. Material/ fabric/ value The color is exactly like the website , a light-medium taupe kind of cool light brown, which really disappear under clothes on me. I have cool tone skin with a bit pinkish undertone, and most "nude" color bras super yellow on me, but not this one. As far as the material goes, , it is a strong sturdy bra. It is not a luxurious fabric, but nice and would be a great everyday workhorse if it had fit me. The price is great as it is 100PLZ + 20 plz overseas shipping, so cost ~$30 USD , definetly worth it. I am keeping it for now, because my weight fluctuates and usually lose a 10lb during summer and it may fit me by the fall.
I am sad it didn't fit after 3 months of waiting, but Comexim definitely the type of bra that suitable for my type of breast( soft, very projected, pendulous , narrow root, high set).
However, I am not sure if I want to gamble again with direct order, which is the cheapest , but has the most risk getting the size wrong. I think I will look into ordering the higher end models using one of the US based ordering option. I know the Anna Pardal line is closing down, but the wellfitting seems still working , so I may give it a try. Read more 766 more words
Bra Obsessed is in Canada! Jaimie is incredibly helpful. That's another option you could try, and it would be shipped to you from within Canada (so 100% no chance of duty/taxes, which is always great!)
Just wanted to add that the thing I remember the most about the horrible fit of this bra was that it made my boobs look cross-eyed. 🤣
