Didn't fit

Well, I think that Curvy Kate is not for me. My shape is projected, evenly full between top and bottom. slightly center full, tallish average width roots with a splayed root shape. My breasts touch at the top, tissue is medium soft and I definitely need side support. This bra doesn't have that, and the cups are either too large or not matched to my shape.

I give CK props for doing plungey plunges, and the plum colorway is sophisticated and sexy. Getting the correct band size is important for this bra as the wires distort easily. The sides are typically low which is not an advantage for me but would be for a lot of people. The gore is low and the wires touch so good for those of us who are close set.

I got this for a pretty low price from Belle Lingerie on ebay. If Curvy Kate is more your speed than mine this one is worth checking out.

- dbmamaz they fit so differently across diff size ranges. But yes they used to be wide and shallow, esp. center shallow, and they've tried really hard to fix that.

  I don't think sizing down will help you. I think one of its benefits for me and detriments for you is the low sides, which won't be helped by sizing down. Great bra for the high set though!
- cupandahalf I could be wrong, but I thought she meant the low sides simply weren't something she needed--I didn't realize she meant the low sides were a problem. From the pictures I don't see any particular fit issues on the sides?

  cupandahalf wendybien I have a lot of flesh in the armpit area so I actually prefer taller wings that hold it in. And I agree the cups are too large but due to lack of side support I don't think I'd like it even in a smaller size.
- Also the band is a little tight. I can see some wire distortion in the side view pic.
- ah ok that makes sense--if you want taller wings then this one is not for you. I think you could get a cosmetically "good" fit in a sister size but it would never be comfortable due to the construction.

Didn't fit

I am close set, full on bottom and have outer fullness. I have been noticing some quading in my 30F bras including my 30F - Curvy Kate » Atomic Plunge Bra (CK4811) so I tried a size up. Curvy Kate changes more then cup size between F and FF. The band and straps are thicker and it has 3 hooks. The cups are significantly taller and wider then the previous size. The wire also is more painful then I remember my new 30F being. When I compare the wires they seem to bend the same when the same force is applied, so I think they hurt ... more because they are ill fitting. My bigger breast is able to fill out the bottom of the cup but the top is a wrinkled mess. Like all the plunges I have tried the cups are too closed off and my tall roots get in the way so the wrinkling looks even worse. The cups are too tall and the strap cuts in my armpits uncomfortably. The wires are too wide especially for my smaller breast. My ideal size for this bra would be between a 30F and 30FF.I need shorter and more open cups. I love the color, deep violet with black accents.

  Ugh this is exactly how this bra and the Cascade “fit” me too only in the 30E and even in that size the gore dug in despite it being short. I have short roots too, and I’ve given up on CKs plunges unfortunately

  I also have given up on CK plunges because I can't ever fill the top of the cup and it gives me a weird pointed look. I seem to always be stuck between two sizes. Thanks for the review. I was beginning to reconsider their plunges because there are some pretty ones, but you made me reconsider!

  Have you considered sewing the Gore together so that the wires are touching/overlapping? I think this could help make this bra work better for you.
  The wrinkling doesn't look all that bad to me and I think doing this to the Gore would position the cups better on your body. It would also bring the straps in some because they're obviously too wide as well. Try pining the Gore together, situating the bra on your body as if it was built that way and see if it helps at all.

  It's such a beautiful bra and color. It looks like you may need more immediate projection in a bra. I have close set breasts too and have gore issues with bras that are too shallow

  LeProfessor I thought about altering the gore but the cups being too tall and closed off made it seem like a loss cause, so I returned it.
  
  Brash5 and lcl0706 I wish their were more bra options out there. I need a gore less then 2 in, narrow and deep cups around 5.3 in and 10 in. CK plunges are the closest thing I have found. I wish I could wear balconette/halfcups but the gores are to tall and pokey.

- Did either of you ever try the Princess plunge? Or their new plunge, Lifestyle? Both of those are significantly more open on top than Cabaret, Dare, or Atomic, at least in the top of the size range.

  cupandahalf I haven't tried them yet. I have been looking for a non-pink Princess one at a decent price, since I heard that the princess plunge was the most open of the plunges. The price is not too bad on ebay I should just buy it. I'll put the lifestyle plunge on my list of bras to try. And it comes in nude!

- I want to try lifestyle but i was told Atomic was significantly more open on top than Cabaret was & I found zero difference between the two, at least in a 30E. But lifestyle is on my list.

Didn't fit

Very short, projected, slightly narrow, close set, even breasts....

This cup is just .2" too narrow. The wrinkles in the bottom of the cup are due to my breast not sitting at the wire. There is just a bit of empty space. This should fit perfectly in a 32FF/30G.

The cup is a good height for short breasts, narrow enough to fit very narrow breasts, and projected enough for projected breasts. I would not, however, recommend this bra for wide or shallow breasts.

Didn't fit

I'm angry about the fit of this bra. First of all it has taken a month to get to me. In that time I've lost weight so the band doesn't fit me. It's too loose. The cups are a little loose, gaping a bunch on my little side and a bit on my larger side unless I hoist the straps way up. When I do that the side of the cup is in my armpit. That's partly because the wires are about half an inch wider than my 38J Cabaret. The straps are Curvy Kate's more stupid style (shiny, stretchy, and narrower) and hurt ... because they have to be cinched so much. They are also really really wide set. Finally, when will CK put softer fabric along the edge of the bottom band? The Ellace is a good start.

The rest of the bra is supportive and soft. I would size down in the band to get a fit closer to 40 inches. If this was a 38J, the fit might be ok. I think the tops of the cups are slightly more open than the Cabaret because the embroidery of the Cabaret cuts in more.

I love the look of this bra. I've been waiting for it for 6 months. I love purple, midmod looks, and the Cabaret Plunge which felt too tight and cut in slightly so I thought it would be perfect just a size (band and cup) up. My husband was also looking forward to seeing me in this bra. I even bought matching undies, which I never do!

Now I'm kicking myself that I didn't get a 38J. I can't send the bra back because of international shipping prices. I can't find a 38J anywhere either. Edit 4/1/17: so I kept this bra, took off the band and straps, replaced them with better ones (although I know now how to fix too wide set CK bra straps so I didn't have to do that but whatever) and lowered the sides. Now that I am a cup size bigger there is little gapping on my smaller side so I took in the top a little bit on the smaller side. This is a really good fit. I have been going through my pictures and I think I have been squeezing into too-small cups for a while trying to get shorter cups for my very short roots. I think I filled this cup out pretty well in the bottom, especially compared to my 38Js which squished me up instead of allowing me to extend my breasts out the way they need to. Taking in the top basically allows me to make it a full coverage Plunge which is exactly what I need.

  If you are returning to the UK, this may ship for $3.50. At least, that is what PayPal charges for international to the UK. Frustrating the variation from the same cuts. Sincerely, I hope the 38J fits precisely the way you require.
- Too late. I got angry and altered it. Took a band and straps off a bra that doesn't fit but has a more center pull fit and sewed those on. Put in lower, narrower wires. Folded the gore over to take out the top bagginess and make it actually a plunge. Folded the wings over. It looks a little frankenbra right now but the fit is quite good actually and the plunge is perfect. I'm going to resew it more carefully when I get purple thread to make it more like it was supposed to be like that.

Used to fit

I never thought orange would look good on me but this bra is quite attractive even on my pale skin.

Curvy Kate plunges are all quite projected at wire and apex. The apex tends to be lower, which is great for those of us who are FOT. Cabaret is the most closed on top and does cut in slightly on me- would be best for even to FOB. Atomic is in the middle and I get a little bubbling in the center. I think it's best for even to FOT however. Princess Plunge is the most open on top and best for FOT ... or size down at least one cup- and even then you might get a floppy lace top.

Atomic is a "Plunge" on me. As in, it's more or less a lower balconette due to my short roots. It's a pretty close to perfect fit despite the center bubbling. I get a nice rounded shape, the wires are narrow, and the band is on the firmer side for CK.

This bra is Plum color version. I really wanted it to fit because I love the color. This bra is about 1/2 a cup size bigger then my 30F - Curvy Kate » Atomic Plunge Bra (CK4811) in orange. Besides the cups being bigger it is the same as my other atomic plunge.

Missing data in Bratabase prompted this purchase. Whoa. Look at these measurements!

Another exceptionally deep (12"+), narrow (5.6") Curvy Kate. After a few of these plunges, I can conclude they just don't fit me. But, you narrow-breasted people may love this bra's characteristics.

The wings are a blissful 3.5" tall...may be too short for some of us. The band stretches to just 30.5" before significantly distorting the wires. Straps are extremely supportive, .8" wide, and luminous. The mesh band and cups are a deep purple--gorgeous. Finally, the bra is lightweight and breathable.

Personally, the apex projection is two inches more than I need and the cup is 3/4" too narrow. Curvy Kate plunges just aren't a good fit for my wide, short, center-full breasts.

If you need a deep cup with exceptional apex projection, this may be your bra.

Hasn't set fit

Initial thoughts:

The band feels looser and stretchier than other brands' 32 bands. Even the arm straps feel stretchy. I'm going to give it a go for a few days and see if I need to go down a band size.

Seems to look alright under a shirt. Does push my boobs towards the center of my chest (my preference). The Plum version is so lovely. And most important, the gore is quite low (great for my boobs!) but doesn't have the problem of my boobs popping out in the center.
