I believe this bra is meant for people with more fullness on top and projected as I think I am fuller on bottom and shallow, this bra does not work for me 😩

I have conical breasts that act more like full on bottom/projected/short roots. Therefore, I don't fill out the tops of the cup! There is some wrinkling on the sides as well. The bottom of the cups are filled out pretty well (by my bigger side). Everything else is pretty comfortable. The band is snug, the underwire is the right width, and the center gore feels comfortable.

This bra is great for FoB but BAD for my short roots. The cups are tall and very closed on top, which makes me wonder who can wear this--the person who can wear this cannot have typical tall roots (will cut in) or typical short roots (cup will be too tall), so maybe average root height? And her breasts have to be extremely full on top and bottom, but there has to be a significant distinction between breast and chest at top, maybe like implants? Perhaps it is just scaled all wrong in my size and the shape is better in a different size? Looking at the pictures, I also think Curvy Kate may have redesigned the bra because the SS2013 pictures look much more open on top. I don't think the current version of 28DD will fit anyone.

This bra is good for projected short roots, which sounds like me, but the volume distribution is all wrong for me. The cups are inner-full and a little shallow on the bottom and outer sides, whereas I am projected at the bottom/sides but lacks inner fullness. As a result, the bra is gaping in the center and cutting in at the top, and I cannot quite pull it to my inframammary fold. When worn at the right place it feels very compressive. The fabrics of the cups also are way too stiff. The band runs tight, which is good for those with 26" ribcages.

This is great bra, just not for me. The gore comes up very high and then presses on my sternum to the point that it's hard to breathe. I tried it on and took some photos and in the time it left red marks everywhere it was against my body basically. Also, my nipple was almost falling out on one side so it is unwearable. The bra itself is cute, but all the lace on the top may be a problem for some shirts.

The wires fit great and would suit anybody with forward, narrow rooted breasts.
The gore isn't too high, great for anybody with close set breasts although I've noticed the gore does get higher as cup size increases.
The colour is a very vibrant, orangey pink, its gorgeous.
My only problem, which is quite a big one, is the band was incredibly stretchy. Laid flat is was 22 inches but once stretched it was 34"! This means the band rides up my back horridly and I can fit a fist or more underneath the band.

A very lovely bra with short cups, which is good for short roots. I love the violet color, it looks unique and elegant compared with the bold and bright red/blue/yellow/pink bras out there. The fabrics are sturdy, and there are a few small details (embroidery, charm) I like. I was so lucky to get the last one on Amazon.

I have grown slightly out of the 28D - Curvy Kate » Ellace Balcony Bra (CK4401) so I tried the Ellace one cup size larger, and also the 28DD - Curvy Kate » Jewel Balcony Bra (CK3401) , which is said to be a similar cut as the Ellace.
The 28DD Jewel fits great, but the 28DD Ellace does not work well. The cup is too tall, cup height is about 5.2" or 13.2cm, which is a great increase from the 28D Ellace (4.4" or 11cm) and also a lot taller than the 28DD Jewel (4.5" or 11.5cm). Why would the cup height increase ... almost 1" in the next size up? Ellace is known for being good for short roots, but this cup height appearently does not work for short-rooted people in my size.
I wonder whether it is because of production inconsistency. Is Curvy Kate sometimes inconsistent in their bras? Did they just change the cut of Ellace? Should I exchange it for another one in the same size to see it the cup gets shorter, or should I skip Ellace and go for the sister cuts like Curvy Kate Madagascar Balcony Bra (CK3701) or Curvy Kate Bardot Balcony Bra (SG3101) to see if they fit? The sister cuts are pretty difficult to find though.

In the 40-ish Curvy Kate's I've tried, they have been the most consistent dimensionally. Although I have not tried Jewel, Ellace is taller, more accommodating of taller roots than Bardot, Madagascar, and Florence. Florence and Ellace are the most similar, but Florence is a bit shorter. Please know I'm speaking from the 30FF/G size of the range. It is entirely possible your sizes are built differently. Best of luck!
Just checked my photos: Florence is shorter than Madagascar and Bardot, too. So, for shortest cup, Florence may be a good choice.
Love4Pollinators Thank you very much! I will look into your suggestions. Florence looks so nice, I wish it comes in 28 band.
Usually black fabrics are smaller, but there was not a difference between Black Florence and Blush Florence. Purple and turquoise were dimensionally the same, too. I had hoped a black Florence would provide a slightly smaller band. Nope.
While I"ve never found a CK i could wear, I LOVED Panache Floris when I was a 32J. But when I gained and became a 32JJ, it doesnt fit nearly as well - too wide, poking me in the arms. Still good projection, but it didnt grow exactly the same way I did.
Deep narrow cups, good for projection, not too heavily padded, cups open at top. Front and centre shape. A cupsize too small for me. Can pass for a 28E.

Nice bra, but too small for me. I will try it again in 28E.

Wide gore, band is a bit stretchy. Fits a bit bigger than the Smoothie.

This is one of my most favorite bras I have tried on so far. I love the fabric and design of this bra. It was narrow and projected enough for me! Sadly it doesn't work because the straps are too far apart, and how it sits on me causes gaping in the center (due to straps angling inwards). When the straps are on straight, they rest on my shoulders, and the gaping goes away. The cups were too small, major quadboob. I'm fairly certain this would fit me in a larger cup, and if the straps were more inward,I would try it. Sadly for me, this is another case of I need a smaller band size/less wide straps. I got it in the ruby/spice colorway and it's gorgeous!

Gore was poking after a few hours. The band was kind of tight, but didn't bother me; I actually may need to try this bra in size 30D.
Although I'm not a huge fan of Curvy Kate, I went on a limb and bought this bra.

I got this bra to try to figure out my size and shape, since it was just the cost of shipping. The band is very tight on me. The straps are wide and comfortable, and I notice no gaping on the cups and fill them properly. I'm ambivalent on the decorations/colouring, and removed the teal ruffles and bows from it so that I could wear it under regular clothes. With the original decorations, it takes two tight layers to cover the lines.
After wearing it for a day, though, it became extremely uncomfortable and felt overly tight.

This bra is super comfortable, with two caveats. The band is super skinny, and the cups have an odd apex. It fits great, but looks a little odd not on.

All of the detailing on this bra make it the prettiest one I own at the moment, but I can't quite fill out the sheer detailing on the top. Since I'm FoB, it just wrinkles into itself and looks rather sad, even on my larger breast. The band is very firm and supportive and I didn't find the bra itself uncomfortable, though.

My second curvy Kate bra. Went abit crazy after I got the starlet which I love.
This is defo a cute little purple one with intricate detailing. Fits well although underwires dig in slightly. Also slight quad boob on left side but okay on right!
Overall I still love this bra but will update you if the situation changes once I start wearing it out! 😉

This bra is amazing!! The band is a loose 28 (it actually stretches to 30.0 inches, which is perfect), the straps adjust long enough and they are neither too close nor too far apart. The wires are wide enough for me, and the wires go up just high enough for me. There is enough space in the cups but not too much space. The cups are slightly-moderately shallow, but not too shallow. The only thing that wasn't perfect was that the underwires are too high in the centre. Plunge bras shouldn't have underwires that go high in the centre. Otherwise, this is a great bra for somebody who is slightly-moderately shallow and has wide roots.

Make sure you add in the measurements! Smaller bust sizes are just as important to the database! I would like to see a review too, I am around this size now and am very interested in the fit on others around my size range.
