So I've been waiting close to 4 years to get this bra. I had heard that there were issues with scaling in the large cup + large band sizes, but large cup + small band sizes should be okay. When I got this in the mail and took the bra out, analyzed the construction of it I just knew that the initial fit was probably going to be a dumpster fire without alterations. Luckily I had only spent $7 on this otherwise I would have sent it back. I got my original recommended size of 30JJ and purchased an extender as Id rather have something thats a bit ...too tight stretch over time and become wearable, rather than something too large. I now realize I probably should've gotten 32JJ anyways due to quadding and a floating gore after alterations because Im pretty sure this style doesn't come in 30K. The cups are insanely open on top with an equal amount of space at the apex but close to zero room at the wires. This left me with my breasts sitting in the lower portions of the cup and filling it out semi decently with a tent on top, there was so much fabric that it was literally up to my collar bones while also leaving me with a boob fold and floating gore, something I also experienced in CK Ellace. After taking in the upper section of the cups I was left with a bra that's actually functional, I do plan on lowering the armpit and moving the straps in a smidge. The cups also might be a size small because Im getting the tiniest amount of quadding. The gore and wing height are something that I appreciate and find comfortable. I dont think I could justify paying full price for this due to how awful the scaling is in the larger cup sizes and having to perform alterations to get it to work. This bra is just super shallow. It's also very wide and tall. I think the shape you need to fit into this bra in large cup sizes is very rare. Usually you'd need more projection at the wire in J+ cups. I tried this bra in several sizes and none worked, I had too much space on top but not enough at the gore / wire. Sizing down didn't help me.
Essentially this is a great bra but I haven't yet tried it in a size that fits me. It's beautifully made, gives a great rounded shape and is supportive and comfortable.
First, I want to start off by saying that photos do not do this bra justice as to how pretty it is in person. I thought it was black and this boring beige color but it's actually this really adorable champagne. Unfortunately this bra didn't fit but it worked as a diagnostic bra. The sides could've been lower and the tops of the cups are still a bit high on me, the wire length could've been wider but this may also be because the cups are too small, the cups on this also roughly 1in higher than my CK Romance which would fit perfectly except it's also too ...small lol. I noticed my breast tissue seems to be folding inside of the cups, Im getting what Im guessing is strap gap, it does get less intense if I pinch the fabric of the top cup in. Other than that the wires are actually in my IMF and I'm not getting wrinkling on the sides/by the wires. The gore isnt tacking and is actually twisting more towards my larger side.
A common complaint I saw was that the band elastic was irritating. Imo it reminds me of how the decadence is constructed and I honestly liked it because for me, it makes the band feel sturdier. Over time though I did find that the elastic straps were not strong enough and had a little too much stretch, which led to them becoming painful. As much as I love the way this bra looks, and how it shapes me, I dont want to perform any alterations on it when I can probably get something that fits better by relisting it.
Im taking this as a definite sign that I'm FOB with a short root height, lots of immediate projection, and I need something that is closed and firm in the upper sections. I am planning on trying the CK Victory next in 30JJ as long as the upper section is closed. Read more 219 more words
Probably the worst bra I've ever owned. I'm so glad I got in on clearance. This thing is cheap and flimsy and ridiculously wide. I get in cup quadding at the seams and it looks like I've got 4 tits. I'm surprised anyone would ever like this bra.
Oh, wow, I just this second finished posting about Ellace in 34JJ! I get what you say about it being flimsy - it's so lightweight it practically floats, but I liked that about it in a wistful sort of way. Most of the bras I have (and need) are quite full coverage and sturdy fabrics. I was longing for something light and airy, But it doesn't give enough support, so I'm sending it back. The 34JJ cups were too big for me, so I didn't get quadding. Sorry it didn't work for you!
It’s sad because this looks really nice in the smaller sizes. Apparently having a large cup size means your wires need to wrap to your back. 😑
This made me laugh! I second your opinion, I had a larger sized one a couple years ago and gave no support and was not cute, I was always mystified why others like this bra. I suspect that Sovavosi is correct and it just goes off the rails in the larger sizes. Darn it Curvy Kate!
Big in the cups - it was too big when my usual size was a 30JJ, and is now too small at a 30KK. It was also quite firm in the band - I'd say it fits like a tight 30K or loose 28KK. The gore is quite wide, the straps are ridiculously long - they need altering to adjust short enough. It's very, very tall under the armpits, and it's quite square at the back - the wings taper to the band very fast, so the straps can come off my shoulders quite easily. That said, it's still pretty good. Appearance-wise it's lovely, and the shape is better than I've gotten in most of the CK unpaddeds.
Gia is a beautiful bra. The lower portion is a stiffer fabric than I was expecting. It doesn't have a lot of stretch or give but it feels luxurious compared to some of the more recent mesh fabrics CK uses. I found an amazing deal on this and bought it in a cup size larger because they didn't have my size. I'm not sure if Gia runs small because I was surprised at how close of a fit it is. I usually have issues with not filling out the top of the cup in any bra but Gia is relatively closed and I fill it out nicely. My only complaint is the wide wires. I have empty fabric on the sides and it feels like the wires are trying to wrap around to my back. The seams do show through shirts and look a little lumpy, but that may be due to buying a cup size larger.
This bra fits ok. It's a tiny bit too tight in the band, but the cup are perfect. The sister size 32J is a little too big in the band and the cup. I like this one, even though it pokes slightly my ribs after 12 hours wearing it.
