Didn't see much on Internet about this bra, but I liked the design of this bra so badly, that I ordered 32F, which is supposed to be my sister size (usually I am 30FF in UK sizing). Unfortunately, the cup is really shallow and makes quad boob effect even on my smaller breast. The gore is perfect, low and nicely designed. The lower part of gore was lying nicely flat, but upper part did not lie - I think it was caused by too small cups though.
Also, lace feels a bit itchy sometimes - I think it might be an important information for those of us with sensitive ...skin.
The thing I learned from this bra is that 32 bands are not for me - I did not feel this support, which I get from 30 band bras. So, bye bye sister size 32F! (I have Freya Firefly bikini in 32F though, and it's not that bad).
Sadly I am returning this one. I think even my usual 30FF would be too small, maybe 30G? 30GG? Because even my trusty old Freya Polyanna in 30F has deeper cups. I think I am just adding this to convince myself that I actually should return this bra (did I mention, how I love the design?)... Read more 104 more words
Amazon Prime Wardrobe: Swimsuit Edition! (Where I order bras/bikinis available on Amazon Prime Wardrobe to try on and add more data to Bratabase!) My shape: FOB, projected, soft tissue, narrow shoulders
So here's another case of mistaken identity/mislabeled bra/bikini. Luckily, it's just a try-on bikini, so I'm not out anything but the time it took me to try on/measure/take pictures, which I would have done anyways. This was listed on Amazon as a UK 32G, but I was sent a US 32G, which is several cup sizes too small for me. I don't know if it's because it was listed as a "Junior's" bikini? That would certainly explain how small ...this is in the cup! The label attached and on the bikini says UK 32F, which is more in line with the actual size, so I think there was some miscommunication on the website. Anyways, this is a well made, pretty cute bikini top! It's got a little ruched/gather effect at the middle of the cups, and the top edge has scalloping, which I personally think adds a little more cuteness factor. The cups themselves are 3 part construction, ((on diagonally horizontal and one vertical) but the outside has an extra layer of fabric so you can't see the seams. It's a nice alternative for someone who likes the fit of bras with seams, but the look of molded cups. I am really loving how cute the Curvy Kate bikinis are! They have so many different options. I just wish their bras/bikinis fit me. Read more 143 more words
I ordered Fantasie bra & panties from Prime this week. Just to see if it could possibly be fantastic (pun intended) enough to be worth the price and/or be an alternative to my beloved Polish brands. Nope. No cigar. I'll post it on the weekend.
Speaking of size conversions: I HATE them with a passion. Please, retailers, stop doing this. Well, actually, I don't care, but please still list or show the sizes as they appear on the manufacturer's tag.
Poor you and your bikini quest...I just wear simple triangle bikini tops. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Thank God. Bras are enough trouble.
I've got four other bikinis I have to measure and review, but yes, none of them worked. I wasn't surprised; it was more of a half-hearted hope that maybe SOMETHING would fit ok, but nothing remotely compares to the Polish bras and how well they fit me. I agree about the size conversions. It just causes more unnecessary confusion!
Thanks for posting the pics and measurements. The cup depth/width/height seems pretty close to my 32E size and the style looks cute. I might give this style a go if I don't like any that I ordered to try.
I've also been ordering some bikini tops to try (for bra science too and hoping I will eventually like one enough, lol) and it's hard. I wish they wouldn't convert the sizes either, I've made so many mistakes when ordering because of this.
mandapandarawks Oh honey, your bikini luck just doesn't end, does it? Sorry and big hugs. 💕 I hope the Peach on the Beach nails it for you. 🍀🍀🍀 You are so overdue for a bikini win!
braluv have you been using Amazon prime Wardrobe to order swimsuits? They have a LOT of them available, though I think they are a little overpriced if you buy through them. I only picked out ones that had underwire and came in my size or sister size, and that only amounted to 5 actual bikinis, lol.
This particular one is pretty cute! I would probably wear it if I could try on my for real size, but since they converted it wrong on Amazon, I don't even know what size I would be sent. They have it for $66, but I'm sure you could find it cheaper on eBay or somewhere else!
mandapandarawks I haven’t been using Amazon lately since I had such little luck before and I feel their prices aren’t as competitive sometimes. I have mostly been trying some stuff in store at Target, Nordstrom Rack, and ordering from Bare Necessities (BN) and Target (they have free returns). BN has some great pricing right now and send out coupons all the time, plus they usually have free 2-day shipping. There’s this new style from CK which I think is really nice: https://us.curvykate.com/curvy-kate-wrapsody-black-bandeau-bikini-top They also have this same style as a one-piece which looks really chic and classy.
Short, projected, slightly narrow, close set, center full, even breasts....
The rib flare in my IMF is causing 28" and 30" bands to bite under my breasts. These bands also lift so well that almost every gore is too wide. So, I'm trying 32" bands because they don't lift my tissue into gore wires. And, the looser band affords my ribs relief.
This babydoll was selling on Ebay. It took me a few minutes to decide it was worth purchasing and converting into the Kitty Plunge bra. The babydoll band is wider than I anticipated and contains boning to help it lay flat against the chest. As it is, the ...babydoll will convert easily into a longline plunge. And, with winter approaching, I will appreciate a bit more fabric.
Because I wear thin wool layers almost exclusively during winter, a padded plunge is helpful in regard to nipple shielding. The shape under knits is lifted, centered, and perky. This will work well with my winter attire and add a bit of insulation. I would not prefer this bra in summer, however.
Three by three fasteners, .6" wide straps, and a fine mesh band provide ample support. However, it feels Curvy Kate used less substantial straps than the usual .7" straps. For this bra's intended use, this makes sense. For my use as an everyday bra, I will likely replace the straps. The embroidery is sublte and elegant. The color combination causes me to consider ghosts, witches, and pumpkins https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" /> I feel like a good witch when wearing Kitty.
I've been wearing this babydoll for over two hours and I have not yet had the urge to rip it off. For me, this is AMAZING. 32" bands may be just what my ribs require. Another comfortable, supportive bra from Curvy Kate. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />
I adore this! And I'm excited about this as a longline plunge! Please do post photos when you finish the conversion! How do you feel about this shape? Supposedly it's the same cut as the Aloha bikini and all their padded plunges in general.
I will recieve a 32F Aloha....eventually (shipping to and from the U.K.). Then, I can better compare. However, I can say the Aloha cups are more malleable than Kitty. For that reason alone, Aloha seems to fit full on bottom breasts a bit better than Kitty: Aloha molds to one's shape better. Overall, they are very similar....I just don't have measurements to prove it :-)
I must have lost quite a lot of boobage, since this exact model in this exact size was way too small two years ago. I don't know how to feel about it, tbh xD otherwise - a nice, smooth t-shirt bra.
Interesting you're having such different results from two years ago. Are you trying a brand new one, or the same one you tried two years ago? If it's a new one, maybe they altered the cut.
Very short, projected, slightly narrow, close set, even breasts....
This cup is just .2" too narrow. The wrinkles in the bottom of the cup are due to my breast not sitting at the wire. There is just a bit of empty space. This should fit perfectly in a 32FF/30G.
The cup is a good height for short breasts, narrow enough to fit very narrow breasts, and projected enough for projected breasts. I would not, however, recommend this bra for wide or shallow breasts.
The low and narrow gore is such a relief. Off to order one size larger. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />
Okay, this was the bra I fell in love with the first time I saw it. The rich fuchsia an the inner print are oh-so-nice! But then again, you can't have everything you want. The fit is tricky. I had a 32E - Curvy Kate » Starlet Moulded Bra (CK2501) and I quadboobed severely, so I though going size up in a sister-cut bra will do the trick. Boy, was I wrong (or at least I think so). My smaller (right boob) lies comfortably inside the cup, while the left (bigger) escapes sideways. I tried to scoop and swoop, but after I take a breath left boob escapes again. Argh. This one goes straight to fitting help. (Also, the hand - print is much less visible than on the stock pics. Bummer.)
Stunning colourway, the vibrant fuchsia with the terrific contrast of the dark violet straps. 'Tis a shame it doesn't contain your larger boob because it otherwise looks outstanding on you.
You might have to pad up a little on your small side?
Wanabee no idea, I am not sure if the problem lies withing the cut or the size. Iposting a fitting help request. Kristine I know, right? I loved this bra since I saw it for the first time, and I was hunting it down ever since.
I didn't know there were hands on the inside too. That's so cute! Bummer about the fit.
I see what you mean about your left breast escaping off to the side. In the initial pics, though, it looked like it was ready to escape medially, so I wonder if a larger cup might work. Your right breast does seem to fit perfectly, however.
This might be my favorite Curvy Kate soft bra. It wrinkles a little bit, but you know, you can't have it all. I will have to alter the band since it is a bit stretched out, but otherwise it is a solid bra.
Yet again ... Curvy Kate, why are you doing this to me? The 32E - Curvy Kate » Tease Me [showgirl Collection] (SG2001) was too small and my nipples were sticking out of the cup, but the 32F in the same model and colourway is just too damn big! There is at least a centimeter of space between my flesh and the bra in the upper part of the cup and I am *so* disappointed. Well, this one is going to be 'look at me in it and take it off now' bra.
[EDIT 14.01.2014] After a while of wearing it I seem to like the fit more and more. Now it kind of adjusted to my boobs and I like the fit nicely. Magic or what?
Just like the 32E - Curvy Kate » Flaunt Bra (CK106) (which btw is one size smaller) this bra is perfect: gives me a pretty cleavage and makes my boobs look bigger.
Unlike my last soft bra form CK (32D - Curvy Kate » Lottie (CK1601) ) this one fits pefectly (somehow a 32D was bigger than a 32F. Go figure.) It's nice on the skin, tight just enough to enclose tissue comfortably.
I was a little iffy about Curvy Kate after trying one that fit but seemed really cheaply and poorly made. This one is much better! The shape is just a little pointy but overall very natural and flattering. The back slides up just a little but isn't a dealbreaker.
How many reviews have you uploaded with not a single picture or measurement? What matters to me most is the measurements and pictures!! Sigh.
dbmamaz I'm just getting started here :) I did add measurements on the bras I intend to sell, but I do plan to go back and add measurements and photos to all of them.
Also, a review should not just include how the bra fits YOU, but should be a little more general, so it is helpful for other people as well. You can add your personal notes about bra fit as a "note" to the bra, so it's not visible to others.
I don't mean this as an offense. Maybe it would be helpful if you check out other reviews with many positive votes, so you can figure out what is important :)
@braccrastination I'm not a professional reviewer and I'm also new to the site, but I would hope that any information I provide would be helpful to someone somewhere :)
bracrastination I'm not a professional reviewer and I'm also new to the site, but I would hope that any information I provide would be helpful to someone somewhere :)
(oops, made a typo and had to post again to get your username name right)
and sorry if we seem to be ganging up, its just there's been a lot of people posting reviews without measurements. and thats what makes this place different than reading about the bra on amazon or something - the data, the measurements. Its not just you
But most of us are not professional reviewers. I'm sure not. I've been learning a lot here over the past 2 months
vexingbet You could include the characteristics of your own boobs in the review, so people who read it would know if it applies to them or not. (i.e. wide/narrow root, fullness on top or on bottom, hanging or not, and so on.)
Btw I'm not a professional reviewer either, I think none of us on Bratabase is :) Still, it IS possible to write reviews in a way that does not just give your own impression, but also would be helpful to others.
bracrastination I hadn't encountered any of these terms for shape until I came here. I don't know what shape I am and it really just confuses me more. Is there any way (maybe asking for fit help?) I can get help determining what my shape is?
I think the main reason for the all the comments is because you posted your review as a public adventure. I'm surprised to be honest as I've mainly found Bratabase to be very supportive. It stinks that you're gettng attacked when you're just trying to find bras that fit.
uniteacher Thank you for understanding that I'm a newbie :) I see now that I did flood the adventures page. Can I undo that? I didn't realize at the time that clicking that box did anything more than just make the review public. Live and learn, I guess :/
I agree with uniteacher , I am personally shocked at some of the comments on this thread. I don't think it is really that hard to be welcoming or at least civil to newbies who are just discovering the site and how it works. There's no good reason to start out by immediately jumping on them.
How would you guys feel if someone had attacked you the very first day you posted here?! Did we rudely demand that you contribute something to us before we had even helped you with anything? I think not, that is certainly not the way I was greeted at any rate. If people on this site welcomed you when you arrived, if others have been kind and patient with you in your fitting journey I feel like you should try to pay it forward.
As far as I'm concerned, it looks great. I'm jealous, 'cause Curvy Kate just doesn't work for me. Wires are much too narrow, at least as far as I can determine. :(
This is probably at least 2 sizes too small, but the cup edge doesn't cut in. I found it quite comfortable until I put on a bit of weight recently and now it's a bit tight in the band. Bizarrely I also own this in a 32FF which fits about the same. One size up only sits further back under my armpits and higher on my breast. Cup is quite shallow, I think I suffer from 'orange-in-a-glass' syndrome in this bra (and many others), I cannot fill the bottom and the bra sort of flops over at the empty bit.
i am officially in love. this bra is lovely, supportive, gives great cleavage without spillover, and surprisingly is wearable under most clothes. i expected the mesh band to be really stretchy, but it isn't at all.
I guess this is a half or maybe even a quarter cup bra? In any case it makes me feel very uncomfortable, I am spilling out seemingly everywhere. The cup barely cover my nipples, the wires remarkably short and cut into my armpit breast issue. Overall it feels and looks way too small.
In 2020, a bra needs to have something special to convince me to wear underwire. This one make me feel sexy as hell and I cannot wait to be able to show it off! The band is really tight for a 32 and I'm hoping it stretches a bit with wear. I just got this bra today, but will update this review as I break it in!
I think the Vegas balcony bra by Curvy Kate is maybe the most gorgeous bra ever! The flamingos, the Vegas theme... Wow! No wonder I've tried this in several sizes, desperate to make it fit.
The mesh on the top of the cups is too soft for me, it wrinkles. My boobs aren't firm enough to keep the soft mesh flat.
The underwires are wide enough, BUT they are too low on the sides. Before, I thought I need wide and low underwires. Wide yes, but this bra made me realize some wires can be too low for me. Some Curvy Kate bras have too low underwires; Vegas bra ...is one of them, unfortunately. Breast tissue is left above the cups in my armpits, because the cups are too low.
The band is a little bit loose, so I would go down a band size. But it makes no sense to try yet another size in this bra. I'm sad I just can't seem to fit in this bra. It doesn't enclose my boobs on the sides. Curvy Kate has other bras in the same model too, so I guess I'm gonna have to avoid this model. Read more 87 more words
Provides a nice rounded shape, but it's too shallow at the wire. They sat on my ribs and I couldn't fill the bottom of the cups. At the same time I quadded across the top. It's a shame too, because the width of the wires was perfect for me! The band was snug but true to size. Couldn't tell if it would stretch out quickly.
Other features: * The straps were slightly too far apart. If I went up a cup-size they'd be too far apart & cut into my armpits for sure. *It has the J-hook in the back to convert to racerback straps. I already had to fully extend the straps, so the J-hook wouldn't work for me. I guess I'm too low-set.
Points of interest: *The sizing on the sewn-in tag must have been changed at some point (or else an error was corrected) because an additional label was glued onto the original tag showing the new sizes.
TIPS: Go up in Band size ! I am a 30 and this feels like a 30 when it is a 32 band size. The underwire is VERY narrow!
My review: First off I must say I ordered this in the size I thought I was before being professionally sized. So my review is not based on my error.
This bra is very nice, high quality, extremely comfortable (even thought it doesnt look that way being it is too small for me) It has no lining, foam or padding.
It is mesh like very netting small tulle fabric that is thicker than tulle.
The way this bra is designed really pulls the girls forward facing and makes them an awesome perky round shape.
I have very pointy nipples usually seen in lightly lined foam bras, but being this is taught fabric it smooths them out and you cant see them.
It is very pretty. I feel your pain 😪
