I tried to capture the bright color of this beauty, but it was really hard to get the color to convey on my phone camera as it is in person. In person, the color is brighter and a richer green. The poppy detailing is close to a burnt orange. It's truly stunning, and unlike another I have owned before.
The band is the most stretchy of the 3 different models that I bought, and is the only one I can wear comfortably without an extender. The cups run TTS, and, while the materials doesn't much much stretch, it is accommodating ...to FoT breasts. It fits my larger breast perfectly, and is slightly loose along the top above the seam on my smaller. The wires are certainly too wide, but there isn't much wrinkling along the wires and it isn't at all noticeable under clothing. With this, I get a very round shape that is slightly minimizing and held close to my body. This will be great to wear for clothes I would otherwise fear my boobs busting out of the top.
Bonus: on top of the great shape, the bra is crazy comfortable. I definitely recommend!
The first noticeable thing is the band is quite tight; definitely requires an extender for me (currently between 32 and 34 band size). The cup is TTS, if not a touch small. If I had any more volume, I'd definitely be quadding. The top is not stretchy at all, but still accommodating to FoT breasts. I generally get at least some amount of cut-in with all ...UK bras, and don't at all with this. The material is really soft, matte microfiber. The band has some nice detailing that keep the bra from being too boring.
I wasn't crazy about the shape without a shirt on; however, once I tried a shirt on over top it, I really get the whole 'upfront technology' CK is touting in their recent models. The shape is very round and all kinds of uplifted! The wires are a bit wide for me, and I do get some wrinkling by the wire, but it's barely noticeable in my larger breast, and it's not at all noticeable under clothes.
Ultimately, I decided to only keep the beige color, as my lingerie drawer runneth over at the moment and I only have one other 'nude' bra in my current rotation.
Notable difference between the beige and black colorway:
- the band on the black is smaller - the wires on the beige are a touch wider - the cups are a bit smaller on the black - the materials, especially around the wires and band, feel smoother and less irritating on the beige compared to the black Read more 188 more words
I am seriously in need of beige myself but I was thinking about getting another Comexim Basic or 2. Value and looks per dollar, how do you feel they compare?
While the Basic fits better in terms of size and shape, I'm glad to have both. Basic, on me, is provides a more perfectly round and a bit compact shape; however, Daily Dream has softer and smoother materials and provides more of a boost and lift to the girls. If you want 2, I'd say get one of each. Basic's shape is more subdued, and Daily Dream will put the boobs out there. Other than that, they're comparable for value. Aesthetically, bra alone, Basic is better. Daily Dream is not a seduction bra by any means.
This is the first seamed bra I’ve found that works for my shape and first style by Curvy Kate I’ve tried. It’s still padded, but up until now I’ve only worn the Freya Deco which was the closest fit I found after striking out on a lot of seamed, unlined styles. I’m now sized out of the Deco since I quad badly in my 32GG and 34GG is too loose in the band and too shallow/tall in the cups due to the awkward size scaling.
The three vertical seams here give me a nice uplifted, rounded shape thats new to me in a seamed bra. It is a ...bit on the shallow side but it has just enough immediate projection to work for me since I have pretty soft tissue. I usually get a pointy torpedo look in bras with diagonal or horizontal seams and wrinkling elsewhere due to shape mismatch so it’s nice to find one I like with only vertical seams. I also have trouble finding cups that aren’t too tall and I like how this is more open on top since I’m pretty FOT shape wise.
The band is nice and firm, I prefer a more snug band and measure right in between a 32 and 34 but I usually size down since I have a lot of squish to my ribcage. You may want to size up if you’re used to brands that run larger and stretchy in the band like Elomi and Freya. I’m also right between H/HH with a bit of asymmetry and decided to go with the smaller size here since I was afraid the HH would gap too much on my smaller side. There’s slight quadding on my larger side but loosening the strap helps and I think as I break it in it’ll stretch with wear and mold to my shape better. It definitely lives up to its name of Boost Me Up, I’m almost getting a cakes on a plate effect which is nice since I’m wide set and basically NEVER get any cleavage, even in a Deco a size or two too small.
Overall I love this bra, it’s exactly my style and what I’ve been looking for since I began the journey finding a bra that fits. I like my bras to be basic black without being overly feminine. I don’t need fancy prints, frills, lace, or bright colors and I hate bows. I love the little silver ring detail at the gore instead of a bow and the matching silver rings on the straps since black and silver are my favorites colors. I wish the hook and eyes were silver too but that’s a minor detail easy to overlook or replace on my own eventually. Time will tell how well it holds up, but since this seems to be a newer model by Curvy Kate I’m hopeful it won’t be discontinued any time soon since I plan to get at least one more to have as a backup. Ordered this set (bra and short) when amazon had it marked down.
From my review of the 34G: Firstly, this looks like a moulded bra but its actually a 3 part cup. The lace obscures the seams. Didn't matter to me, but it's more likely to fit more people since its not actually moulded. Band is firm, gore low... top edge seems likely to curl outward Material feels like swim suit material on the cups. The band is standard power mesh.
Added for the 32H: Wires are a smudge narrower on this size. The lace on the cups extends down to the band, which has a tendency to curl on ...me (all bras not just this one) making it a little itchy. If I could get the band to curl outward instead of inward (my bras seem to choose their curl direction randomly) it would be less uncomfortable. Keep this in mind if your bands curl too. The weird armpit looseness/gape is gone in this size. Possible I just needed another size or that it was slightly defective (poor tension when sewn maybe)
Beautiful bra and I love the poppy color but maybe CK will bring it out in pastels/nudes as an alternative to the freya deco (not seamless but similar shape) Edit: A/W15 has a champagne/black one coming out. Unfortunately it's black lace over champagne fabric, so it won't work under light shirts. Still pretty!
SHORTS: ordered the sz 14/large like I usually do. Fits nice. Very Slightly roomier than Cleo 14 briefs but it's a different material
This is a beautiful bra. The wires are the new narrow curvy Kate wires, so they fit me fine but if you are used to the older wide wires it may not. Band is a little stretchy. fits comfortably but the bottom edge scooches up just a little (I get squishier below my UB), 6 hook back is very tricky to get done up on your own. Gore is a little high for me, and just barely doesn't tack. Bottom of cups is a little shallow for my projected breasts. It's wearable, but not ideal (similar to the ritzy I tried). I'll be sending this back, since I prefer the temptress I ordered along with it, but my best friend voted that I keep this instead.
The d shape - that’s what I call these bras ^_^ it sort of looks like my breasts form a d if you look from the side (from my collarbone down). I really like this bra, but I couldn’t seem to figure out what was up with the cup shape. It was a bit tight in the band (would probably have gone up if it fit better) and I couldn’t fill out the top of the cup so the lace creased and wrinkled. I really liked the appearance though and it did seem very comfortable in fabric.
Today is the first day I've been able to wear this bra as it was originally too big. But thanks to some weight gain, I'm getting to really try it out today.
Me: slightly FOB, very soft tissue, very centerfull, narrow and high set roots, need lots of immediate projection. The bra that usually fits the best is CK Florence in 32H, so I assumed I would need a 32H in Daydreamer as well. Hint: I was wrong.
The Good: • It's a really pretty bra. It feels very pinup-y to me. • I like the laminated fabric of the lower part of the bra. • The straps are slightly stretchy and ...comfortable • The center projection and immediate projection are both fantastic in this bra.
The Not-So-Good: • I don't like the upper fabric. It's much looser than the lower fabric and less supportive, which gives me in-cup quadding and loose fabric on top. someone with firmer and more upper fullness than I may not have this problem. • This band is bigger and stretchier than my Florence. When I first received this bra, I had to fasten it on the tightest hooks, and it was still a bit loose.
Measurements coming as soon as I can find my measuring tape!
I was just so surprised by this bra! The wires are much narrower than any other CK I've tried and the wings and cups are lower, too. The 32H is actually pretty true to size, if a touch long in the band. When I first got it, I found it very comfortable, but I've gained a few pounds and now have noticeable quadraboob on my larger side and the edges of the band cut in after a few hours. It's possible that sizing up to a 34H would fix things, but I fear that the wires would then be too wide. The seams are nice ...and flat so there's no lumpiness under clothing and the beige is a good-enough nude for my light skin. The shape is excellent. The subtle patterns on the band and the sides notch up the pretty factor without ruining it for tshirt use. There is a bit of flattening on the bra at the bottom of the cups because it's a little shallower than I am, and the wires are still wider than I need, but it totally works. It appears to be well-constructed of sturdy materials. Read more 87 more words
Of my recent Curvy Kate purchases, I was looking forward to this one the most -- stretch lace, forward facing technically, gold band all sound like it makes for an amazing bra. However, this one was the most disappointing both in terms of fit and aesthetics.
The band is really tight, so much so I wouldn't be able to wear it without an extender at least for awhile. The cups are also really large; I might benefit from a cup size down, but I doubt I'd try it. The wires are much too wide for my shape, and the bottoms of the cup are shallow, leading to great wrinkling by the wires. All this combines to provide a shape that is best described as 'rounded torpedo'.
The stretch lace is *quite stretchy*,which I'm happy to see Curvy Kate utilizing in their bras, but it ends up looking sloppy somehow.
I applaud CK for their attempt to branch out in their bras, but this is one that will require some work before it's perfected. Well...for me, anyway.
After much success with the Cleo Marcie, I decided that I needed some more "neutral" bras, so I decided to do some hunting. I have very full on top breasts, so I was recommended the Curvy Kate Emily. I had never tried anything by Curvy Kate before so I was excited to finally try it out.
Sizing/Fit (Band) - I measure about 31 inches around my underbust, so with bandsizes, I can easily go between 30 and 32 inch bands. On this one, I decided to go with the 32, that turned out to be perfect! It wasn't too tight in the slightest, yet it didn't ride up. ...
Sizing/Fit (Cup) - I had heard from a few other reviews that many Curvy Kate unpadded bras ran a little small, but I went ahead and ordered my usual size of 32H, and it turned out to be a perfect choice. I had no gaping at the top, yet no quadboob. The profile was nice and round, but not 'in your face' like many molded bras (at least for me). This bra seems pretty forgiving, so I would recommend this as a starter bra for the Curvy Kate brand. The only thing I would say about this bra problem wise is the wide underwires. My breast tissue ended way sooner than the underwires did, but it wasn't uncomfortable in the slightest.
Appearance/Comfort - This bra is beautiful. There have been a lot of complaints about this bra looking too 'mature' but I have to disagree. Even for my eighteen year old tastes. The embroidery is very detailed and I love the satin bows on the center and on each strap. The fabric is also very soft and breathable.
I'm really hoping this bra works for me in the next cup up. The fabric is so smooth that this thing is a dream to wear, and it looks like it would be a great t-shirt bra--no lace or other details to show through thin fabric. Unfortunately, it's a bit small for me (gore doesn't quite tack, spilling out of the cups), but it seems to fit true to size.
It gives great lift and shape to my very soft, very pendulous boobs.
This bra is super sexy and I wanted something to give that Marie Antionette cleavage for scoop neck tops. I ordered it in the black/wine and black/silver.
I heard the band runs big in the Showgirl range, so I got a 32. It fit very snug, but still had some stretch. At least I got the band size correct!
The cups.....that's a whole different story. I'm still trying to figure out my size, so I decided to try an H. I read that the cups run small in this style, and boy, no kidding! I need at least a HH or J next time. ... I could barely tuck everything into the cups. If I walked around too much, I'm sure I'd have a nipple fall out!
The shape is very rounded and pushed north. I felt like I had 2 oranges on my chest when I was wearing this bra!
The quality of the materials seems top-notch and the style is just to die for. Unfortunately, this size didn't work for me, but I will definitely be looking for a replacement. The matching shorts make this set a must-have for any large busted woman! Read more 95 more words
I am so, so sad that this didn't fit! The side sweeps down which prevents that discomfort you can get around the armpit when you have a smaller back size and big boobs. The edging at the bottom of the band does flap up if you slouch, but other than that it is such a beautiful bra.
I thought this bra would be just as good as it was for me in 30H. It is not. There is quadboob, the shape of the cup does not work for my boobs at all, and the band cuts in at the bottom, even though it feels too loose. It was a real disappointment.
TL;DR Size the cup down, might show through thin or tight tops
I haven't worn this bra for a full day as a strapless yet (I'm still figuring out the right size to wear and want to possibly send this one back) but it does make a good appearance. While wearing it strapless for a while at home, I could see that it would not slide down and that it did make a nice shape. Style: For a basic strapless bra it does have a really cute not-so-basic style with the tuxedo detailing. I'm a little concerned that because this is a full coverage padded cup with a thicker ...top line, it could show through tighter or thinner clothing. But at least it provides enough cover, that if anything should slide, my boobs will not be exposed. Fit: The 32:11 did not fit me the best personally. The cup seems bigger, but the band is tighter than other 32 bands that I have, which is very nice for a strapless bra. The silicone in the band does a good job at not sliding, however I can imagine it becoming a little uncomfortable during sweaty days. Nonetheless, I would take non-slip over comfort any time, especially with a strapless option that needs to stay up only with the band. I'm not sure if the band will stretch out, and I sure hope it does not. However, to be sure I'm going to size down. I would make the 32:11 a 32:10 or a 30:11 just to be sure. With the straps in place, I fill the cups out nicely, but without them the bra sags a bit and I want it to fit perfectly without straps. Read more 182 more words
The princess is best for wide set breasts with less projection. The underwire is very wide (as in it practically goes on my back) and it makes projected breasts look flattened.
Florence has turned into my go-to. It works well for FoB, needing a lot of projection. It gives a nice, rounded, lifted look. I need a lot of room in the bottom of the cup, but I almost never fill the top of the cup. I do just fine with Florence. The lace on top is not stretchy. With Panache straps, they always fall off my shoulders. But with CK Florence the straps stay in place on my narrow shoulders. The gore is tall (taller than Princess's gore for reference) and that can be annoying at times.
I am seriously in need of beige myself but I was thinking about getting another Comexim Basic or 2. Value and looks per dollar, how do you feel they compare?
