I really love the look of this Curvy Kate Balconette and wanted to love it but the fit is just not a match for me. I need WAY more immediate projection, so it should be good for someone more shallow. And that might bring the seams up enough to cover someone's nipples, too, just not mine. The quadboob + wrinkling was also surprising for me. So this one just isn't for me.
I love this bra in every way except that I think I need a 34G instead of GG. Although Curvy Kate is known for stretchy bands, it seems that in recent years they have gotten less stretchy. Their cup sizing used to run small, and it appears that it runs more true to size now.
I have also lost weight (& thus breast volume) and gotten fitter, so it seems my ribcage has gotten more muscular & thus thicker.
This bra fits well overall. I like how the band fits sung, I would not want it any tighter but it is comfortable to wear all day. The cups hold my breasts nicely. I'm fairly happy with the shape it gives me, but I do have to position my breasts just right or else I get a more pointy shape than I like. Once things are set, they stay in place and look good for extended periods. The center gore runs a little high, but is not uncomfortable. I think it's a keeper. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
The band was way too big, to an absurd degree. I immediately fastened it on the tightest hooks and it was still loose. The cups of this 34GG were indistinguishable from the 34G I tried on at the same time. Despite all the hype that this bra should basically be exactly what I'm looking for shape-wise, I found it kind of mediocre. The band was loose, the wires too wide, the cups wrinkled on top, cups ...were a bit tall, straps too wide-set. None of these were really drastic, but it adds up to a bra that I'll be returning to Amazon. I think if it had fit properly, it would definitely be a keeper - all the materials were comfortable, and I love the sturdy elastic at the bottom. I do hope they change the stretch lace in future versions; it's much stretchier than the material of the cup and this mismatch makes the bra prone to in-cup quadding.
I tried on the Crimson color way, and it was beautiful - a nice burgundy color without any purple undertones. The elastic at the bottom of the band is a contrasting champagne color on the black version of this bra, but on this version it all matches. Read more 131 more words
I was hoping that this bra was similar to the Showgirls which it visually resembles, but the structure/shape is quite different. This did not give me the rounded purple shape I associate with the Showgirls. It runs more true to size as it is less shallow. My regular cup size was fine, and I probably would have happier to sister size up one band size (to my regular Panache band size).
The gore did not tack on me; I think the wires were too soft. When I pressed the gore flat I got the tiniest bit of overspill on my larger breast, and plenty of gaping on the smaller side. The bra was visible under shirts.
I love the look and colors, but this one just fits awkward for me. It is usable to help rotate my bras, but I won't purchase similar bras to this in the future.
The band length on this was great for me. However the tops have way too much gaping. Must be best for very full on top. The straps and wires were way too wide for me and there's gaping in the bottom, so perhaps I need more immediate projection.
The cup is too big, but wires on 34G might be too narrow. It also looks like you might need to go down a band size. So try it in 32GG if you really like this model. Btw did you scoop and swoop?
Orange_Kate thank you! And yes I did scoop and swoop always lol
So this year I finally decided to buy a black tankini and pair it with colorful/fun bottoms. (Still waiting on my bottoms to arrive, and SUPER SAD I passed on one of Torrid's patterns last year.)
I also had to put in all new measurements to add the fit review. I've lost enough weight to officially be in 34 bands, but my volume remains. The 34GG Jetty was on sale on Amazon (34H was not), so I grabbed that and crossed my fingers. I do have some quadboob and bulging at the seams but it's totally hidden. This tankini is an unlined bra with a half swimsuit over it, ...so all the bumps get smoothed out. I guess in bright lights it might be a little noticeable but I'm not worried, because I was kind of hoping for a bit of overflow. For me, now, swimwear should be a little sexy, and it's a garment I'll only be wearing a few hours at a time.
Oh yeah, take the stretched band measurement with a grain of salt. It fits great, but feels really stretchy. I kind of wonder if I could get away with a 32H instead. (I do not plan on buying to try, but maybe next time.) Also, standard bra closure hook and eye, not the plastic clip!
I will also have to update this review once I've actually worn it in water. Read more 124 more words
Pretty decent fit but not good enough to keep. I tried a 34g and gg. The larger bra fit the best but I got some gaping at the top. Also, something was a bit off with the shape for me although it's worked well for lots of others.
This is the first Curvy Kate bra that's a "maybe". I read that the band ran large so I sister sized down from my usual 36G. The previous Curvy Kate's that I've tried were molded so any shape mismatch was evident. My breasts are narrow, projected, and FOB. I didn't have any gaping and the top or sides and while I didn't have any quadding I think if I went up a cup I'd get enough volume for the gore to lie flat.
The bra itself doesn't feel like great quality. The fabric felt pretty scratchy though I don't know how much would go away after a few washings. The gore felt a little wide for my close-set, splayed breasts and gave me a little east-west but this might be alleviated with a larger cup. It's pretty sheer and I feel like I would get a lot of nipple show through, particularly when it's cold. I do love that there are 3 hooks.
So much better than the Parfait Honey babydoll in quality and fit. I didn't expect such a good fit! My standards are a little lower for nightwear: the band doesn't need to be quite as firm and I don't object if there's a little quadraboob, but I think I could actually wear this under a dress if the cup embroidery wouldn't show. In fact, that's my only complaint. The embroidery is so 3d that it renders an otherwise amazingly versatile garment almost useless. It probably looks less obtrusive in other colors. The fit is so good, though, that it has redeemed my enthusiasm for CK. I will now be stalking the ritzy!
The bra is very comfortable and pretty but the wires were too wide for me and the cups too shallow. Nevertheless it fitted quite good but not as perfect as I wish.
This bra is comfortable but I have gone from the first hook to the 3rd hook in a couple of days, I may have chose too large of band. It fits nicely and is pretty. The underwire pokes underneath some where I think it has been slipping. Still trying to get the straps figured out because they were hurting my neck and shoulder but adjusting them longer helped that but they slip off my shoulder some. I have a small gap at the top but it does not really bother me and looks fine under a shirt. Bra now fits good, just took some adjusting and I fill it out well now.
Really pretty bra, great lace details and shape. The lace is chunky so it's noticeable under a shirt. I'm pretty bouncy in this bra, so I might save it for special dress.
Wow! A moulded bra up to a J cup? I'm on this. I was so excited to try this bra as I prefer moulded cups but they can be harder to find in a larger cup size.
Unfortunately, Amazon are crappy and crushed it with their paper packaging but I tried it on anyway.
All in all it fit pretty well apart from some quadboob after scooping, buuut, and I don't know if this could be because it was crushed in transit, the moulding sorta lipped out near the gore and created a visible ridge under t-shirts. A real shame because I got no orange in a glass ...effect, the wires fit nicely and the band was nice and firm but not tight. The shape it gives is nice - rounded but a little pointed, another reviewer said 'retro' which I think is accurate https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Also, this thing gives craaaazy uplift and great cleavage for a balcony bra. The subtle leopard print adds some interest to an otherwise basic everyday sort of bra but it isn't visible under light shirts.
A word of caution if you're gonna try this or any of Curvy Kate's bras - the straps are usually wide set which can be a problem for those of us with smaller frames. Read more 113 more words
This bra is really nice. The center gore doesn't quite lie flat on me, but my boobs are really close together, so I'm not sure that is ever going to happen. The color is nice and neutral, the fabric is very soft and the details are quite pretty. This bra is not projected enough for me, but would make a great everyday bra for someone with a shallower shape.
hi this bra is very beutifull on you you must try 32h .i think i have it and i have wrinking in the band do you know why >?
