This bra is a disaster of scaling. It's tragic really because it could be a great bra, and it probably is in smaller sizes.
Pros: Firm tts band, soft mesh reinforced at bottom would provide lift in better circumstances, good look as a naked bra and see through material would make it nude on a range of skin tones. It definitely exposes all my fit problems that are usually hidden by opaque fabric.
Cons: wires are ridiculously wide and tall. Like Panache level stupidly wide and tall. No center room at all, making the gore destabilize at the bottom of the cup ...up. Not enough bottom room. A tent like upper mesh.
Wearing this bra shows me what happens with wide gores/not enough center room. My firm center tissue pushes the gore away from my sternum. The gore does not tack, meaning the wires are not tensioned against my body properly. The bra sits on my stomach instead. The cups sit on my breasts rather than supporting them. The wires dig in, causing pain.
You can also see my omega shape clearly. When balled up, my tissue is much taller than my roots, causing that omega fold in front of the armpit. My breasts almost fold back on themselves in this bra because there is not enough room at the apex/bottom/center. That's why I need great apex depth and narrow wires.
I can't recommend this bra to someone of my shape in this size but I generally love the design. Ironically, my best fit is in 38K - Curvy Kate » Vegas Balcony Bra (CK5601) which works much better for my short roots and long boobs. If only CK could use Victory's fabric on the Vegas model! I would only buy that bra. I'm tempted to make my own when I have time and money to do so.
Smaller banded and/or breasted women should not be alarmed! The fit looks quite good on models. They just did not test the fit on us big gals, which is a shame because I really wanted this bra to work.
That gore! Whoa, it is tall. It us remarkable how well Vegas fits vs Victory. I would have never guessed this fit was Curvy Kate by just looking at your photos. Strange scaling!
Oh my gosh. I never would have guessed CK either. Did they just... never try some sizes on real people?
What I mean is, why wouldn't you make trying on part of the design process when you put out a new model? Get a couple of ladies from the various size ranges and see what it looks like. To not do it just seems like taking shortcuts. Shame on them.
I'm still shocked by the 6" gore. Holy smokers! That is amazing in all the wrong ways for us short rooted bra wearers ; -)
calenlass it certainly does seem that they did not fit larger women, just scaled up a smaller pattern. Love4Pollinators you are right, I don't think I've ever experienced a gore this high.
Wow that gore height! I am not sure it would even suit someone with a long torso. I do not think CK is that great at scaling up...there are a lot of full busted women on Insta trying to wear CK and it never seems to fit.
But my best fitting bra is a CK 38K too! They actually do scale well, it's just this one isn't.
I think a lot of those gals on Insta are trying to wear Scantilly which only goes up to an HH cup when they are a much larger cup size. I know Fullerfigurefullerbust and CurvyWordy wear bras too small for them to get into that brand for instance.
fabulouslyfullfigure btw I'm not on Insta but I follow all your pics. Love your tummy love! Also really excited to hear your thoughts on that unlined Comexim.
Yes you are right cupandahalf ! Maybe it is the Scantilly mostly! Oh thanks on the tummy love...it has taken awhile to be comfy with it. The Comexim I ordered a little too large in the band but I can say I was impressed with the material quality! It is a beautiful bra and true to Comexim it is center full friendly and slightly taller cups. I think if I got the right size it would be awesome!
There has to be something off about the scaling on large cups in this bra. It looks like it is 2 cup sizes bigger than your 38K vegas bra. The gore is taller than the wing measurement? Makes no sense either.
It’s a crazy bra. I had hoped you would be tall and full enough to fit it, but no.
Late reply but I managed to get my hands on this for $7. The scaling on this is definitely insane even in 30JJ. My issue was that there's an excessive amount of fabric in the top half...like insanely so, but when I took it in, it seems to fit fine. The wires on it dont really bother me and I'm able to fill out the bottom half. Looking at the initial cup construction before alteration basically looks like it was based off of a beach ball - there was no variation between the top of the cup vs lower half/sides while also having close to zero room at the gore. I also got the folding in my armpits/gore not tacking and I think the problem would just get worse if I size down. It's kind of disappointing because it's a beautiful bra.

It is not as comfortable as Charm, likely due to scratchier elastics and slightly less soft mesh. I think it will be better after I wash it.
The blue print is very beautiful and I like the print over the sheerness.
I will be changing out the wires and the straps and adding soft foldover elastic to the bottom of the cup to make it comfortable. I know it’s a lot of work but I needed more mesh bras for the heat of summer and this works well for that as it is light and airy.
I have been hoping you would review this!! Beautiful!! Also, hoping washing softens the mesh because scratchy mesh and heat rash are an unbearable combination. Ugh.
The mesh is not terribly scratchy so I have hopes. The elastics, however, are nightmarish, so I’m covering them all up, lol.
I do like that everything’s a bit shorter too, because I’m able to replace the wires with my flat verticals I get from Porcelynne. I’ll have to take a picture once I’m done with bralterations.
I thought the fit in my 40JJ - Curvy Kate » Vegas Balcony Bra (5601) was good until I got this size. I knew the band was too loose in the 40JJ but it was way too loose and after a few months has begun to ride up on the tightest hooks. This one is perfect, tts with comfortable stretch. Besides the band, the measurements for each are basically the same and can be attributed to me not measuring perfectly or slight sewing differences. What you would expect for sister sizes. The main difference is that there is no loose fabric ...at the side of the cup, perhaps due to the band appropriately tensioning the cup.
The gore is slightly taller than my center root (hello short roots!) but only untacks at the very top.
The lift remains phenomenal. The wires stay in my IMF and there is plenty of room at the bottom. There is so much center room that I get slight gapping at the mesh there in certain positions but it's fine, doesn't show under clothes. And I would rather that than cutting in or gore probs.
The fabric is not great to start but I know that it gets better over time. I still love the fabric although it does show under everything. Sometimes I kind of like that because I adore the print.
This time I bought the undies too. They are literally the most comfy knickers I have ever bought. They are so soft and the light mesh on the rear does not ride up. The flamingo fabric is not laminated like the bra so it is quite soft. I must get more pairs. I wear them in size 20 and they fit like other CK Brazilians I own in that size. Read more 213 more words
Black bikini top made of nylon & elastane bathing suit material lined with polyester padding in cups with gathered center and ruching before wings. There are 2 decorative vertically placed pearly brown colored plastic buttons at gore that make it more interesting then just simply a black bikini top. Plastic clip in back, still feels unnatural putting on, but is much sturdier then previous year's model. While the rest of the bikini top is nice. My brain wants to invert the plastic clips the first few trys. I wish the buttons were more wood look or more shell button like this is sort of between the two, ...minor detail though.
Not quite sure why this doesn't thrill me, I think most of the issues are fit related. Back rides up, but feels ok going on, but stretched out to its listed size in band after a try on. Can't fault the maker for that. I feel like vertically the cups swallow me, but the depth works. It seems like my projection is pushing cup down as well. The straps are too wide set, cup width is livable but could get away with being a little less wide. I have less of the sweetheart look in the cups for me. The gore doesn't need to be so high. Too much support comes from the straps. All this seems like fit issues. Possibly a cup that is too shallow especially in a smaller size, although I dont have a way to tell. May have done better in a 36K, or JJ or 38JJ. Although 38 would still have the wider frame problems. They were all sold out, darn, forget about shopping for sales. If this fit it would have been nice. Read more 183 more words
This bra is brand new i only tried it on. I however cant return it because i purchased it on zulily. Im cant put my finger on it but it just doesnt work for me.
I think I've decided that Curvy Kate bras just don't work for me, and this bra is no exception. It's absolutely beautiful, but everything about it is all wrong for my breasts/body shape. The straps are too wide-set for me, and I started having horrible back pain after only fifteen minutes of wearing the bra. I have broad shoulders too (though they are sloping), so this was somewhat surprising. The cups fit well, though they do not provide much lift for my breasts, and I'm not crazy about the shape. It might be a good bra for others, but it definitely doesn't work for me.
While the wires are nice and narrow, I have grown since the last time I tried this bra and it no longer is deep enough. I find I have to size up one or two cups in Princess because, even though it's so open at top it looks like it fits, it's not deep enough at the bottom of the cup. I am saving it for when I lose some weight and drop a few cup sizes again, because it's very pretty and a great color.
I was hoping I would get one of the newer models here but I have a feeling I got an old one. Way too wide for me, too much room on top, not enough projection at bottom of cup.
I love the color! Very stretchy and forgiving. The gore felt to wide how ever this is probably due to the fact that the cups are to big, I have a short stem and bottom fullness. I've decided to keep the bra because the cups actually hold my breast tissue up off my rib cadge, the fabric is very taught in the cups, so until it stretches the bra will work well enough under normal tshirts and for casual wear. I've been wearing this maybe twice a week, and the pretty ribbons have already ripped apart from the gore and started to unravel. I think the rest of the bra is fine but this shows kinda lower quality workmanship, the bra still does its job as well as it did when new.
Unfortunately this doesn't fit well. The band is too big and the cups a tad too small and need adjesting throughout the day. Also gives an east-west look. I REALLY wished the Curvy kate bras were true to cup size because i love the look of them!
