Comfort: Soft, supple, and stays in my IMF. No itchy laces. No scratchy fabrics. A win.
Style: I am a Russian doll. A delicate, slightly over the top, beautifully silly object in this bra. It combines two of my favorite colors, blue and red. I love it and I didn't think I would after the beige version.
Fit: This bra fits perfectly. The wires are nice and narrow and firm but not painful. I have no quadboob. By some magical forces, I have no gapping on my small size either. The shape is compact, round, and lovely. I feel gathered in rather than pushed out. At the same time it seems to have room at the bottom of the cup and the apex. The gore is short so I don't push it out, so I feel much more held together. I just generally feel lifted, enclosed, and rounded. I also have some hot but subtle cakes on ...a plate. This is my perfect breast look.
Look: I hate it. All the little dots and ribbons and embroidered lace are so precious. In the beige it suits my skin tone but because the cups are sheer I can't wear it under white shirts. The dots all show as well. I probably would like this better in a different color, but in beige it's pretty horrid. I really like minimalism, clean lines, and classic beauty. This is not that. I'm sure others love it however.
Comfort: It's pretty soft and comfortable. My only gripe is that the elastic in the band is narrow, but it is quite soft everywhere. I want to put it on and wear it.
I'm going to return it and get a different color. My breasts need to look that good every day. Read more 147 more words
Fit: Unlike other bikini brands, this is built snug so it won't stretch too big under water. Therefore it remains true to size/a little smaller than true to size. I have yet to wear it swimming but I will amend my review when I do. The cups are a little small on me, probably to give a nice push up effect. I have considered sizing up one cup and if I find one cheap in 40J I will. I think the cup size is the reason why I have some gapping on my large size at the armpit. However, there is gapping on ...both sides, and my smaller side looks like it fits in the cup well, so it might just be a fit problem with my very narrow projected breasts being incompatible with the wider, shallower Curvy Kate padded cups (because unpadded CKs fit me really well). I get cakes on a plate cleavage but I will have to change the straps to pull towards my neck versus to the back like a regular bra. If I liked halter necks, it would probably remove the gapping completely, but I can't take the weight on my neck. When I change the straps to move towards my neck, angled inward, I can see that the gapping on the side is way better, as my breasts get pushed together. I wish the straps were thicker and firmer so they didn't fold over from the weight of my chest. The shape is lovely from the size, and the wires are nice and low in the center, so comfortable.
Comfort: Very comfortable except for the thin straps. The Lycra is soft and the inner molded cups are not scratchy.
Style: The shirring at the bottom of the cups is a little loose, and I worry about it moving around in the water. I have considered tacking it down, but I'll have to think about how to do that. The pattern is beautiful. My favorite colors are on the aqua/turquoise spectrum, and red. Basically this ticks all my boxes of beautiful color. It's definitely a 70s revival style print, and it's very fun. I have a pair of red, a pair of white, and a pair of aqua bottoms from Forever 21 that match and I feel pretty spectacular in this suit.
This was edited upon a second try-on and measuring session. This is a brand-new release from Curvy Kate.
Me: Very short, narrow, roots. High set, round, pendulous uber- projected, full in center, full on top to even.
I would describe this shape as a true demi plunge in this size. When I first put it on I thought Holy Shit are those MINE?!?! Because I look so hot, I have center and cakes cleavage. To the point where I'm pretty sure it's too small (or too short for my short roots?!?!?) even though it's in my usual Curvy Kate size.
Fit: Basically the ...same as my 38J - Curvy Kate » Cabaret Plunge Bra (CK5111), very similar measurements, but with shorter cups (like an inch shorter!). The wires are softer than the Cabaret. There is in-cup quadding and slight quadding on my large side. The band was about the same size as my 38J Cabaret so I used an extender, but it immediately stretched to 40 inches when I tried it on, which with the extender felt less secure. The second time I wore it I did not use the extender and adjusted the straps up a bit, which provided a much more secure fit, but this is when I experienced a tiny bit of quadding on my large side. The straps adjust fine for me but there is embellishment on the front like on the regular Princess. Because my tissue is brought to the center and the wires are softer I push the gore out so there's not the stabilizing gore tack of the Cabaret which has Panache-style firm wires. The cups begin at my breast tissue, so there's no gapping at the strap. The shape is super round, like if Cleo Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831) was a plunge for people with incredibly short roots.
Comfort: The fabric is soft, no scratchy mesh here. The straps are also soft but a bit stretchy. I have a big problem with Cabaret and 36JJ - Curvy Kate » Bardot Balcony Bra (SG3101) because of the itchy mesh and embroidery. I have no such issues with either the dotted fabric or the soft lace and ribbon top embellishment. This bra is a delight.
Style: The ribbon pulls out a bit on the top so there are loops when I look down. I'm not too bothered by it. I like the Princess so much better in black. I don't really care about the ribbons and bows and everything because I can't see it as much in black. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" />
An amazing plunge for very short narrow-to-average roots. I will be ordering it in a cup size larger and seeing how that works for me.
Wow!! Super round: beautiful! Hope your next purchase is perfect!! :-) :-)
Ok, after comparing my 38J - Curvy Kate » Cabaret Plunge Bra (CK5111) and the Princess Plunge by laying one over the top of the other, I have come to the conclusion that they are almost exactly the same but the Princess has lower cups, bendier wires, and further in straps. Same narrow wires (could the wires have gotten stretched out in transit?) but because the cups are shorter I feel like I'm gonna spill out and I quad slightly. But wearing the band without an extender makes it feel much more secure. I have updated the measurements and will update the review later today.
What was wrong with me yesterday that I couldn't measure properly? Must have been the heat.
I will be ordering the 40J on Friday so we shall see how that goes.
The wire of the sides of the bra dig into my breasts under my arms. The gore felt annoying (too tight?) in little time although it was sitting flat. The material is hard mesh thus a little scratchy. So this bra is not comfortable. Cups are a little loose on the top with some wrinkles but the bra looked ok. I used a back extender because the band was too tight at 33" stretched. How can they call that a 40" band at 31" unstretched?! It comes in many pretty colours.
Fit: This bra is the right size but looks too big. It is meant for someone with narrow but shallower breasts that are taller than mine. I normally fit molded cups because my breasts flow like cake batter into most molds. Not so for this bra. Its cut and sew style with an underlying foam cup makes an angular, stiff shape which does not allow my breasts to shape and be shaped like it. They push out the gore because there is no room for center fullness. They bulge out the sides where the bra is cut low and with too much ...room (why?). They press down the bottom to make room. The cups gape at the top because they are too tall, but when the gore is pressed in I fit perfectly. I'm not sure who this bra would fit in my size range. Maybe a more narrow splayed tall breasted someone. I'm not sure though that her breasts would not spill out the side. The straps are flimsy and fold over. The fundamental flaw here is that the straps should attach farther towards the armpit to allow for forward projection and prevent armpit gapping. That alteration might make the bra wearable for me but it's not worth it because of the other insurmountable fit issues.
Style: I love the minimalist but lovely design. The bow is fine, the crosshatch design of the fabric on the gore and wings is nice. The seams are not too prominent. The beige is a good fit for pale skin.
Comfort: The fabric is soft but for the band. Under the cups it is harsh and chafes. The straps are narrow and very stretchy. The band elastic is not narrow but not as wide and soft as Elomi. Read more 210 more words
This is almost an exact match to the Curvy Kate Daily Dream but with a tankini over it. Measurement from bottom of inner band to tankini hem is 12 inches. Band is very stretchy, tankini material over band is tighter.
Fit: I can’t tell why this didn’t work for me. For some reason I had sadboob™, where the shape of the bra made my breasts point downward, almost as if they were lifted but their full on top shape was left to do its thing, that is, to point down. There was some projection, but in general they were held close to the chest in an East West fashion, shallow and wide. Looking from the top I enjoyed the view, but from the side the top of my breast was exposed, the apex was pointing down, and then the bra came in at a rather horizontal ...angle forming a downward pointing triangle with a slight curve on top. Generally speaking, the bra was much shallower and wider than the other unlined Curvy Kates I have tried, but very low as well, unlike the shallow wide Curvy Kate Daily Dream Balcony Bra (CK4501) and friends. The Portia was very narrow at the top of the gore, so much so that the wires crossed when my centerfull breasts pushed them together, but in all other respects it was exactly like the Curvy Kate Dreamcatcher Balcony Bra (CK2301). At the same time, at the bottom of the gore it was quite splayed, unlike other unlined Curvy Kates. The wire seemed medium flexible to me. It was quite low set, with lots of décolleté exposed and open on top, if a little more closed than the Dreamcatcher because of the ribbon top. There was no quadding on this bra, and generally I felt the fit was similar except for the gore width at top.
Comfort: The fabric was soft and the lace and ribbon were as well. The wires were not uncomfortable as the wings were nice and low.
Look: The shape was so bad, which was a shame, because I actually liked the hot pink with orange color. I do like certain shades of hot pink, and looking down at the tops of my boobs framed with ribbon was nice. However, the side view was so so horrible. Why, Portia, why? Oh well, it's a close enough look to the Princess that I will wait for the summer colors to come out for another brightly colored beribboned monstrosity which actually will make my boobs perky. In the 30FF/G range, this is considerably more shallow than Dreamcatcher, Gia, and Ellace. It is more projected than most, but more shallow than several other CK. It is also more closed on top than the others. I was surprised it cut across me, mildly. Also, it has less center projection than the aforementioned models. Interesting how the shape changes throughout the range!!! Bra engineering would be so much fun :-) :-)
I wish this had worked for you: the color is delightful. :-) :-)
It's so weird to me because the Dreamcatcher and the Portia are basically the same bra in this size. I wonder why it changes across the sizes so much?
Yeah there was little center projection in either bra for me, like my breasts were being swept to the side. More like an Elomi bra but shorter and shallower.
If I hadn't read the "related models" page, I would never guess Portia and Dreamcatcher were the same cut. Never.
We both tried the newest Portia (Fuchsia/Melon)....perhaps there has been a change recently. The Dreamcatchers I will try next are Melon and Black. Lemon Fizz was significantly more immediately projected than Fuchsia/Melon Portia. So much so, I would not recommend Portia for projected breasts. Strange!
Hmm. I'll look out for your review of the Melon Dreamcatcher then. It would be so weird if they made that bra shallower in the new styles and more projected in the other ones.
Also that's a good point- I need to make sure the right colorways are inputted into all my bras.
I think the center projection category may be what is most different in the 30FF/G range. Because I'm center full, increased center projection feels fantastic. If the Melon Dreamcatcher is what I'm hoping (very projected), I'll feel euphoric ;-) ;-)

Comfort: I couldn’t really bear the Dreamcatcher’s fabric against my skin. The band seemed quite true to size. It could have been my imagination but I felt the Dreamcatcher’s band was the most uncomfortable. This could have been a general discomfort for the whole bra however.
Look: See fit. It doesn't matter how pretty it is, the shape is so bad.
World's prettiest bra. Fabric has far too much stretch and provides very little support. Technically, the fit is good, but unfortunately it's pretty much unwearable for me.
So pretty. Knew it was a long shot - molded cups very rarely work for me, but I had to try https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Kind of a weird fit but the shape is pretty good and it’s one of the only bras I have that doesn’t have a super high gore (so it can be worn with a moderately low-ish neckline). The weirdness is found in the sides of the cups; there is LOTS of extra fabric there so it gaps away at the outside of the cups.
I tried sizing down to a 40H, but the fit was even worse (still gapped at the sides of cups and also gave me spillage at the tops of the cups) and the shape was an odd upside-down 7 shape.
Wow!! Super round: beautiful! Hope your next purchase is perfect!! :-) :-)
