    32J/JJ

    Fits

I couldn't resist when the Curvy Kate Unwind bralette popped up on zalando at a sale price. I had very low expectations. I had doubts that a simple bralette without wires could do much for my 32J boobs.

It turned out that it is much better than I thought. I don't have experience with other bralettes but I was surprised at how nice it looked and what a decent shape I get in it. It does not look much worse under a t-shirt than a regular bra. The support is okay for a bralette I guess. The most uplift comes from the straps. The band fits nicely and is ... true to size in my opinion. The "cups" are a good size for my boobs, I don't think that they have to fit differently. I get slight overspill / cleavage at the center but I expected that since there is no gore to separate my boobs. I really like the stripes on the underbust band, too bad this band just rides up. I only managed to have it look like on my pictures for like 2 minutes, then it started to roll up. It does not bother me when rolled up but it diminished the look. The fabric is lightweight and soft.

I think I would wear this bra at home, for example when I come home at late afternoon and just want to remove my regular bra but don't want to be braless during my evening. I don't think I would wear the bra to go out or do much in it. Mostly lounging, watching tv, reading, laying on couch and so on. Also I can imagine this working as a sleep bra. For daily activities I wouldn't wear it since I fear that my boobs would fall out if I move too much and I get neck pain from the strap pressure on my shoulders. While a bra with wires and a firm band can and should do 80% of work to lift the breast this bra would do much less.

A few words on the look. I absolutely love how this bra looks on me. I don't know what it is. It is nothing npecial. I don't even like black very much. But it looks kinda classy and a bit sexy? I don't know but I will keep it and update here once I have worn it a bit more.

    • This looks really nice, you are right! It tempts me to try it too!

    • Very well defined bra personality !

You're right. One needs a bra that's just there while watching how cornflakes absorb milk on a saturday morning...

    • 1

      Looks amazing!! šŸ˜

    • 1

I wear this bra now for a lazy Sunday morning. It is amazing. No discomfort. the only thing that happens with wear is the overspill at the center, so it shows like quadboob under a Shirt. it is not too bad and since I only wear it at home it does not bother me much. Also I recommend this as a sleep bra. it felt nice when I was laying down.

    • 1

Wow! Looks great on you. They did well!
I wonder if it would work as a good alternative to my Bravissimo zara bralettes ...

    • martka00 Oh the Zara Braletteā€¦ now I want to try one of these too! I love the thick straps on them.

    • alisa Iā€™ve got 4 of the Zara bralettes: 2 in black and 2 in lilac šŸ˜ I wish theyā€™d do one in rose or pale yellow šŸ¤©

    • Does that keyhole at the base of the bra bother you? It looks like it wouldn't be comfortable.

    • I also love this bra. I sewed the top together a little more and I get a bit more uplift and no spillover, but I still get the band rolling up. I want to clone mine and make my own in pink.

Also, I have worn this on long road trips and it is great. I love the cutout because it reduces boob sweat.

    • martka00 Omg the lilac! I wanted that one but now it is gone, they only have black or neon orange left :( I was worried that it would be too small since the biggest size they do is 32HH/J, so I never bothered. But I think if I only wear it at home quadboob wont' be such an issue. I would also love rose / pink or if they bring back the lilac :D looks like it sold well. Do you wear it instead of a regular bra or just for lounging?

    • 1

Sovavosi No it did not bother me yet. The "gore" part does not lie anywhere close to my sternum anyway (not like on the model) so it just floats. At first I was scared my boobs would "fall out" there but they didn't.

    • cupandahalf I don't think I could sew it together some more on my bra because it's already kinda small fitting. Or could I get rid of the overspill with that? It would be interesting if you could add a picture of your alternation? I'd also love the pink bra. CK has to make it for us.

    • 1

The neon orange is really neon.. personally I didnā€™t like it.
Lilac is great and I bought also matching pants. It works okay under some of my white tshirts but not the thin ones so not bad...
I wear it as a normal bra when I suffer from my reflux and during weekends. Sometimes I do also wear M&S dd bralette but itā€™s top like so I donā€™t like it too much
Iā€™m currently 32F/30FF in bravissimo and 30FF-G is my size to go in the bralette, so the 32HH-J might be on the small size I guess but if youā€™ll have a chance to try it, you should definitely give it a go.

    • 1

alisa Iā€™ll upload pics of it after I wash it later this week.

    • 1

alisa , It looks comfy, but for a sleep bra, I have to have better separation. I am a side sleeper, and it is painful for me when my breasts flop around or, in this case, just spill out in the middle. :/

    • 1

oooh this looks like a great lounge bra!

Wow. Really a bra sized bralette.

I want to make it clear first of all that anyone else who gets this bra should keep their expectations in the bralette sphere. This is not a wireless bra and itā€™s definitely not a wired bra. You wonā€™t be comfortable running up and down steps but you might be ok driving to the store in it. I find it comparable to my Torrid and Forever 21 bralettes in comfort, shaping, and support except this one fits in the band and cup at the same time, meaning the second two items are a bit better.

Pay no attention to ... the cup measurements above. The cup and band have no real division so I measured from the side support seam. The cup and band are made from a soft silky micro fabric with a second layer of mesh under, and the very top of the cup has mesh only. Both are very stretchy. The band is of an illusion elastic, also quite stretchy. The straps are typical Curvy Kate- not my ideal wide Elomi straps and if adjusted too tightly the edges bite a bit. The straps and the underband are the only parts I find less comfy, though sizing and my body shape may play a role here- they are being stretched quite a bit and the band rolls up because my waist is bigger than my underbust.

I also canā€™t quite judge the size. Recently Iā€™ve been fitting into 42HH or H so this may be too small in the band and large in the cup for me. I will test the band with extender tonight to see if it rolls up less. For those who feel the band is too big, I want to emphasize that this is for light structured support and would provide that stretched to a lesser degree.

For the cups Iā€™m pretty certain they are a size too big and I know I would get more lift if the top section was smaller. The straps would be closer set too. If you feel like you might be in between sizes and you have shorter roots or are full on bottom, go with the smaller size.

The important thing for me is shaping and containment for a Bralette and this does both, comfortably and easily. I canā€™t complain at all as it fits and shapes much better than Torrid or Forever21, and so much more than the 3X - Cosabella Ā» Never Say Never Extended Sweetie Bralette (NEV I tried as an alternative to this. If you find your UB/B ratio doesnā€™t allow for wearing numbered sizing, this is an excellent alternative. I recommend it as a Bralette, but again, not as a bra, even a wireless bra.

Wow! Thanks for sharing such great feedback!

    • As someone in s similar size range, I really appreciate your review! I hadn't thought of bralettes as being in the realm of possibility.

    • 1

I actually like my Torrid ones too if you want to try a few in stores. Think light shaping and lift with no real support- your boobs will move around but not be brushing your navel.

    • Overall do you like it?

    • Great review! Will you keep it? Would you recommend it as a sleep bra?

It looks lovely--minimalistic and classy. Thanks for the review!

    Didn't fit

This one was a huge disappointment. I love the look of it, and when I saw reviews saying it ran small, I hoped it would work for me, but no luck. I'm pretty sure it's a shape mismatch. The cups cut into the tops of my breasts, but at the same time, my breasts easily slide out of the cups toward the middle. The whole thing feels loose and unsupportive. The band does run a bit small, but not by a full band size. Maybe half. I usually wear a 28, and the 30 felt most comfortable to me on the tightest hook. Speaking of the band, it ... rolls up the instant I put it on. Usually that doesn't bother me, but on this bra, the band is so thin when it's rolled that it's actually uncomfortable. It would have been a lot better if they'd used a thicker elastic here. The cups are shallow, I think. My projected breasts don't fit well in them. I'm not sure whether the problem is just depth or whether the cups are small as well. I usually fit into a 28HH or 28J, so these cups should have been much too big on me, not cutting in.

While it didn't work for me, I will say that aside from the horrid band, the materials are very soft, and the bra looks great. If you're shallow, it's probably worth a try. Just be prepared to try a couple sizes.

    band length 21.5-33
    cup width 5.25
cup depth ??? 7" stretches to 8" across both panels, or 10" just past the cups???
    cup height 7"
7.5-8.5 wide diagonally from the gore cutout to the strap
    gore height 3.2
gore width .8 (at the diamond)
wing height 5 from bottom of band by the label to top
    strap width .65
    strap length 13"
    2 hooks

Bought for teen. Wonderfully butter-smooth micro poly knit outer lining. Inner cup is all heavy duty powernet. Well sewn layers without lumps, lovely tiny sewing and serged seams Not an itchy stitch in sight.

Wish that the inside hems that are hidden in the cups, were not reinforced with a very tough thin elastic. When they outgrow this it will probably start to quad all over due to the unnecessary reinforcement in dumb places.

Disregard the cup width/depth/separation measurements - as a previous reviewer mentioned, there's no real cup distinction in this style so I measured from the outermost 'side support' seam to the centre point where the 'cups' meet. In terms of sizing and fit, I find this to be okay. The band does flip and roll up on itself due to the construction of it, but contrary to what others seem to say this doesn't actually bother me at all nor do I find any discomfort with it. I also find it to be too stretchy, than too tight. Cup wise with it being dual cup-sized, there was some inevitable overspill at the neckline. Even when I was a 28G/30FF, I have quite full/firm tissue and would have been much better with a 30FF/G cup, as 30G/GG was too big at the time. I've since gone up a cup size to 28GG/30G, and find 30G/GG a much more comfortable fit.

    Amazon Wardrobe $52, returned
Band slightly too large, but crumples into nothing? It crumples as if way too overstretched, but feels way too loose. Not very comfortable, for all that it feel soft. Can fit 4 fingers between me and the band without much strain/ plenty of stretch left.cuts fit volumewise, but I am more center-set and have to adjust myself further east-west to be in the cups correctly. Straps are set in my armpits in front and arent comfortable there. Somewhat feel as if the outside of my breast are unsupported? And sort of like this bra wants to push my tissue into the armpits. The seam between ... the side of the cup and the band on my side is in a really weird spot. Possibly because it tries to bring the side panel up so high? Would work much better for someone who is set more East/West and less toward the center than me. Fabrics feel nice quality and texture and secure. Band fits against my sternum, but the diamond sits about 2-3 inches away from my chest- I can fit my hand sideways there. Not secure/supportive enough to be a sports bra- bouncing is particularly not supported. Although not much side to side movement as I already had to push myself sideway into the cup. At least it holds me apart ok? After moving a little I start to quad boob and would have to keep restuffing my tissue sideways. Overall, not stable enough to be a sportsbra, not supportive enough for a dailywear bra and not comfy enough for a sleep bra (mostly due to the strap placement and top/side of the cup being in my armpit) If I wore this for a longer period of time, I would get really tired of the quadboob-ing and having to reposition constantly.

For no underwire, it's fairly supportive when still. It's hard to tell how well it would work with a tighter band and with cups that arent much to far east/west. It's also unpadded, and for me shows an unreasonable amount of nipplebump (the seam actually puckered and exaggerated this)

    Quality:
The material all seemed to be high quality expect the bottom band elastic. I wish they went with a functional and softer elastic instead of a plasticy rougher elastic that immediately crumples. 5 stars for most of the bra, 1 star for the band- being functional is important and it isnt even cute crumpled up so that's no good excuse.

Comfort: I am too east/west, and the band wasnt cuper comfotable. the quadding didnt cut into my tissue, it was actually more comfotable than being held seperate, so it's definately not the worst.

Appearance: my fit issues of the straps being wide, band crumpling, and quadding made this look not-so-great. I also dont know how nice the area that connects the cups would look under a shirt with how lifted away from my chest it is. Depends on how tight of something I would wear. The seam bumping up where it hit my nipple looked wrong too, it exaggerated the bump. After taking it off, I notice the whole seam from solid to mesh seems to just be puckering, so maybe it wasnt my niple makeing the bump, but just placement of where that puckering exists. Honestly, this didnt have a whole lot going for it visually.

Over all, Im kind of sad this didnt work. I really love the feel of most of the materials and it seemed well made. It's just a shape mismatch and a few quality details that make it a no.

Got this little cutie delivered from Amazon today thinking I would have a slinky thing to wear around this weekend while Iā€™m married to my heating pad. Unfortunately, it lined up with the rest of my experience with Curvy Kate thus far. The stretch mesh is soft and smooth but does nothing for support. Since this is a wireless style, I wasnā€™t expecting much lift, but unless I tighten the straps to the point of discomfort, there is very little lift at all. I took the photos before tightening to an absurd tightness to get some lift/support, but you can see in the pictures that ... itā€™s pressing down quite a bit on my shoulders. The band, which stretches to an absurd 42ā€, rolls up almost instantly. The straps are also very wide set.

Okay, Iā€™ll include the couple good features. First, the cups actually fit. Like I am not falling out or quadding anywhere. Second, it is a very cute look. I love the illusion elastic and the little undercleave window. If this were more comfortable (see digging straps and rolling band), I would keep it to lounge in when I want to be sexy but lazy. It actually doesnā€™t look too awful under a shirt now that I look at the pictures.

If this were, say, a $20 bralette, I might keep it and try adding a second set of straps or tightening the band or something to make it more functional. At $42, I will be sending this back and trying again.

I normally wear a 32J UK in other Curvy Kate bras, so I tried this in a 32J/JJ. This is very comfortable and looks ok at first, but I get quadboob in minutes. The cups fold over some as well, and there is virtually no support from this bralette. Unlike other bralettes, this does NOT cause uniboob. I would try this out in a larger dual cup size, but it doesn't come in a bigger cup.

Edited to add: I've actually worn this to work a few times. It's supportive enough to walk around it and build up equipment. The quadding is visible through my shirts though.

For me, the support is pretty good. This might be because this is also the closest thing I've had to fitting without causing extreme discomfort. I did get a bra fitting a bravissimo and the fitter suggested I try 30K due to fit issues I was experiencing in Ellace. The largest cup size that this accommodates is a J/JJ.

A common complaint I heard was that the band runs small and originally I was going to purchase 32J/JJ but I saw that 34J/JJ had a faster delivery date - and I needed something to save me from constant back pain ASAP.

When I did receive this my initial ... thought was there's no way in hell this can fit J/JJ tits, this looks small (I was wrong). I pretty much felt strapped in and supported. The band does run very snug though, even though I had to wear it on the last row it was tight, so fits closer to a 32 band. Unfortunately immediately upon hooking it the elastic rolled up. I couldn't get it to stay in place. This is really my only complaint with the Bralette but I'll still be returning it.
