I decided to try this DELIMIRA bra because it looks very similar to the Mae Wireless T-Shirt Bra (http://bra.pe/SCLEE/) that has become my casual summer go-to. The Mae seems to be unfortunately discontinued and is no longer available in 30 bands, so I decided to try this as an alternative. Sadly, the fit is different, and the quality is not up to par.
I tried the original fabrication in the color Adobe Rose in size 30D, which didn't work out. I reordered 30DD in the new version called "Black So Soft," which is an improvement, but I still don't like the fabric. ... Instead of the slick, cool microfiber used on the Mae bra, the DELIMIRA is made from fuzzy microfiber that has a very warm handfeel. The black has a peached feel, which I don't like, and attracts fibers like nobody's business. As I mentioned in my review for the other DELIMIRA bra I tried, overall I find the quality of these bras to be pretty mediocre. For this bra especially, I would say quality is below par for the price range as you can get much nicer quality from brands like Target. There are absolutely no trims on the bra except standard hardware.
The cut of the bra is very similar to the Mae, with tall, molded wireless cups that have a deep plunge into the gore. The gore is a bit narrower than on the Mae, but the measurements are about the same. The band on this bra is the only real redeeming factor, because it is quite firm and feels TTS for a 30. There is flexible plastic boning at the side of the cradle where it connects to the wings, but it feels extra heavy and cheap. Straps are standard width for a matrix brand, but some design genius decided that instead of leaving the straps fully adjustable, they are tacked at a forced stopping point in the back, so they are only partially adjustable.
The 30D was way too small and cut into my center tissue, but the 30DD is a much better fit in the cups. I wish they were a bit shorter, since they do come up quite tall, but they feel OK. The Mae bra in 30DD was too tall under the arms and chafed, so this one actually fits better in my normal size. However, I am not planning to keep this bra, because the fabric is unpleasant. The shape the bra gives me is natural, but nothing special, and the cups are still rather shallow in shape, so that if you pull the straps tighter, it will give you a flattened appearance rather than lifting. I have other bras that give better shape with comfort in mind, so there's no reason for me to keep this bra.
