I love this bralette - and am wearing it now (albeit with far more layers on top than in my pics, haha!). Gorgeous aqua colour, lovely soft stretch lace. Three hooks and eyes on a nice wide band means that it is somewhat supportive (enough for moving around the house in or probably even going for a walk under a thick hoodie etc) despite the shoestring straps. The seaming on the cups is soft to wear and also helps with support. As soon as I saw this I wanted it - then sighed due to the lack of sizes (this is the smallest band and largest cup available (!!!! MADNESS...)) but decided I could likely get away with it - as a 30E-F the cup is fine for me and could probably accommodate far larger/more full on top busts than mine I'd reckon. I love wearing this - for some reason it makes me feel like a hot surf chick with a passion for lingerie, haha! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />
There is a *lot* to be said about loving how something makes you feel. It looks great on you, especially with your ink.
Aww thanks Kristine, that's very kind of you. I think it's nice to have an undergarment that I feel free in - maybe the lack of wires etc make me think that it doesn't matter so much if it's a perfect fit so I can just enjoy wearing something that's relaxed and not stress over how it's not quite right HERE or HERE....:-)
This looks like more of a novelty/fashion bra than something to wear everyday unless one can find a perfect fit. The band has 4 hooks and fits snug on my small ribcage even though this is a 32" band size. The underwire of the cups is slightly narrow for the size and the center gore is a little wider than my favorite bras.
The longline style is what makes this bra more fashionable even though it has functional qualities. Each wing of the band has two strips of boning for shape and contour. The band and cup do not offer full support of the breast even though it is a longline. I find that tissue tends to escape out of the top outer corner of the cup.
This bra is molded but without any push up padding. The lining is very smooth, plush and not too thick. The khaki/jade green satin is stunning with lace details and cut outs in the band.
First off, Elle Macpherson's bands run at least a full size small. I'm generally a 30, sometimes a 28, and 32 on these bras is a bit tight on me. It does stretch after a while, as all bras do, and after a few days wearing it for a couple hours to break it in, it becomes more comfortable on the last row of hooks. That said, this bra is GORGEOUS. It's actually a bit too small for me in the cups, but not enough to cause problems, and the balconette style doesn't cut in at the top. It's got a bit of a shallow cup to push more of the breast up. I suspect a 32DD would have worked better for me, but a) my boobs look great in this one and b) the store didn't have one and I love this bra too much to part with it.
It is a very cute bra. Sheer and very very thin, with lace on top of the cups which is really pretty, super light and comfortable, the shape it gives is really round and makes my boobs look smaller and kind of flat, the support is very little but I still like it because you feel like you are not wearing a bra Jajja I would say is true to size, the straps adjust all the way, it has a pretty bow between the cups.
This bra is beautiful! It is unlined and light, yet has enough structure to offer an excellent natural shape. Up against all the stretchy molded contoured mystery fabric world of bras, this one has a classic elegance that I have a curiosity for. I love the silk fabric, the delicate lace, and the the side supported lift. However, of my breast tissue (side) does not quite make it into the cups, after swoop/scoop I have quaffing, so suspect I am a 32DD in this model https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> Unfortunately this was a discontinued line/eBay purchase, so no chance of exchange. I decided to keep, it was a great score, if just for the joy of having it...if it stays in the drawer for too long, I will list.
This bra runs small both in the cup and the band. Fortunately I had read reviews from other Elle Macpherson bras and ordered the 32D instead of a 30D and am very glad I did. The biggest the band stretches is 29", the precise comfort zone for my back. After a swoop and scoop it fits perfectly! For the record, I am a shallow/wide root with pointy, close-set breasts. This bra creates a lovely, curved silhouette with its slight contoured padding in an upward molded shape that even gives me some cleavage. On top of all that, it's silk, including even the ...lining of the cups. The golden lace detailing is gorgeous and properly sewn down instead of just laid on top and the straps are about 2/3 non-stretch satin (while still adjusting in the back just enough for my petite stature), so I think this bra will last a long time.
My only dickering will be the bows. Though they look rather cute, the little bows on the back are completely impractical for wearing anything over it (the matching bikini has the same issue with two bows toward the front). After taking the reference pictures I set about removing them. Instead of the usual single attachment easily snipped off, these were very tightly sewn down and it was nerve-wracking getting them off without destroying the silk. In the end I succeeded, but it took the better part of 20 minutes and a lot of very carefully seam-ripping to achieve it. At least now I can wear this bra under a shirt without having weird bumps on the back. Read more 172 more words
This is a cute bra, but I'm not 100% happy with the shape it gives me. There's not a lot of uplift or support, and I get the teeniest bit of gaping in the cups at the center. But the gore is sitting on tissue, so there's definitely a slight shape issue. I'm probably a bit too conical for this bra. The lace is cute and the color is a vibrant gem tone. The lace of the wings seems a little flimsy and I'm not sure how long it would hold up, especially near the hooks. This bra does work for the shallowness of my shape, so I think it would work for those in the shallow spectrum. But because of the shape issues I'm experiencing, I think it would better suit those on the more projected side of shallow.
I like this bra a lot. It's the first bra I got in my actual size so I can't really give to much detail about fit since I'm learning myself. My only problem is that it's pretty itchy and the center gore digs in a bit too much. Plus the band is a bit too stretchy for my liking.
I ordered this and the 32C to compare - I will ultimately be keeping the 32C which is a sister size to my normal 30D. Band runs on the snug side and I am able to wear this on the first hook and it feels snug and more like a 30 band. The bra does sit a little closer together in the middle than fits my body, but this bra is absolutely beautiful and gives amazing lift and cleavage. Once you get it to fit - it is worth it.
I have had problems with bras cutting in and making quad boob - this does not do that and ...seems to just wrap beautifully in line with the body. Gives nice rounded shape.
If you are not wide set, this bra in your sister size (one band size up from your normal and one cup size down from your normal) should work great. If you are slightly wider set, you might also want to try one cup up in the same band size to allow the bra to feel more centered. I think the wider cup of the D feels more comfortable and centered on my body, but It was too deep for me. I am hoping with time I can get the C wires to relax a little - no matter what, this bra was just too beautiful to send back! Read more 122 more words
Really pretty bra, lovely color. The lace is nice. Cups are very smooth with just a bit of padding.
Doesn't quite encase my breasts. Get some spillage in the armpits/around the straps. Not quite wide enough or back far enough toward my side to get my whole root, it would probably be great for someone with a narrow root. Seems more close together on my chest than my breasts are.
It's just the slightest bit too closed in at the top for me. It's not really noticeable, I don't get quadboob. I can just feel it kind of trying to close in a bit where it shouldn't be. Not a huge issue, if it didn't have other fit issues I wouldn't mind it at all!
In general it's just crossing the line from "Good enough" to "Not good enough". My other Elle Macpherson bra isn't perfect either but it's slightly better than this one. Which is unfortunate because I like this one a whole lot better haha.
I'm not a huge fan of this bra. It's pretty decent for a tshirt bra but there's some issues with it.
The lace around the trim is really itchy. The bow on the gore is huge and unnecessary. The wire is WAAAAAY shorter than the channel. There's almost an INCH more channel than there is wire. So that makes for some funky looking wires when worn.
In general I find it ugly but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and whatnot. But it's decent enough! It does its job even if it's a little itchy and ugly.
Very comfortable, feels sturdy and supportive. Shape is maybe a little too lifted for the size and results in a fairly pointy profile, so I'm not a big fan of how it looks under knit/clingy tops.
Tight band, but this is the first bra I've had that fits snug. Did get an extender in case I need it. Not sure if its quadboob or the cut of the bra, but cuts in as it crosses the top of my boob. Not high enough on the outside of the cups, some armpit bulge. Wires don't feel quite right. Maybe not wide enough? Straps feel a little wide set. Cut of the bra cup isn't right, but its workable.
I bought this bra primarily because it is adorable. It does seem to be tight; I have sore red marks in the band's place when I remove it. I was informed upon trying it on that this brand runs small, and further research has yielded the same results. Band runs at least one size small, without question. My only other issue is the high cup under my right armpit. It does a fairly good job of containing the under-arm breast tissue, but seems to rub against my armpit uncomfortably in certain positions. Still, it's wearable. And still adorable.
The band is loose enough that I can stretch it quite far from my body, yet it still leaves red marks where it sits (and does not slip up in the back). The cups are low cut and give me "the double-boob effect" if I'm not slouching. The frills on the straps and back show through clothes, as do the seams.

The cups are low cut and bordered with elastic that gives me "the double-boob effect" if I'm not slouching. The seams between the five parts of the cups are a little itchy and show through clothes, but it's very breathable due to the double-layer mesh material.
