This band is SOOOO small. I'm generally a 30 and I have to use an extender with it! But with it on it's very nice. The cups are generously wide and comfy and the lace is very beautiful. The lace is a tad itchy though.
So this is my third try for this bra. Oh, the things I do for love (of a pretty bra). In this size it wrinkles a lot at the top when i move my arms (maybe this would be good for someone who's full on top?), but it's definitely better than the 32E which was painful on the sides. I do wish the wire came out a bit wider, but i think it will be okay. The band and the wires are tight and firm--definitely size up for this one. The straps are only half-adjustable and I need to use a strap saver for them to be short enough. In this colorway I'm just not attached to it. I wish I could find the blue one in this size, then I would consider it worth it, but for now between the vintage look and all the wrinkling, it makes me feel like a grandma! I don't think I'll be keeping it.
The straps don't adjust! At all! There is NO adjuster for them. What the fuck?! I'm 5'2" and short waisted -- most bras already don't adjust enough. This was horrible! Totally unwearable!!!
This isn't the greatest bra for me under clothing, as it doesn't do much to soften my conical/splayed boobs. But it's so pretty and it feels great, so in my drawer it stays! I wear a 30F in Freya halfcups, so I'd say this runs small both in the band and in the cup.
Band runs firm: I normally can't wear a 32 on the loosest hooks, but this one has been happily sitting on the loosest hooks without shifting ever since I bought it. Three hooks in the band is also a nice feature.
Cups run wide and a little shallow (which could possibly be contributing to my impression that the band runs firm?). Technically I need a smaller cup width with a touch more projection, but soft tissue means I have relatively biddable breasts so can wear this shape comfortably enough. Although by 3/4 of the way through the day the whole bra has inevitably tipped forward, pushing the underwires into my ribs, as my boobs lose their temper and demand more space up front.
The lace is not stretch lace, and nor is it particularly strong lace. The cups therefore give a very natural shape: some lift and a touch of rounding.
The cups fit very well, but the lace can be a bit itchy. The band is also just the slightest bit too tight, which I'm hoping will just fix itself with time because otherwise I love it.
The cup on this bra fits me nicely, and would suit FOB breasts. Wires are about medium width, the bra looks really good.
Pros
Nice looking Deep cup Rounded shape
Cons
Band is a bit narrow and has tight elastic combined with not tight mesh - leading to the "back fat" look Cup comes up a bit high at the front, and some many have trouble filling it (like me) The bra looks quite worn and daggy after only a short period of time owning it Lace at the bottom of the bra curls up slightly
This bra fits perfectly in the cups but the gore comes up pretty high. The band runs tight on this too, but I'm not sure if I'd risk sizing up. I just popped in a strap extender for one more hook length. My breasts fill the cups perfectly with nice support for an unpadded style. The straps are the perfect length when let all the way out, which is nice because it means I'll have plenty of room to tighten them up as they stretch.
This is the first Elle Macpherson bra I've ever bought that didn't fit properly. The band was simply too loose. Given the brand's usual tendency to be very snug in the band I'm really confused.
I altered it myself and the band fits now, but I had to take off a little less than two inches of fabric so I don't know how long it will last.
I'm usually a 32F in Elle Macpherson and their sizing is so reliable that I have been able to buy theme without trying them on and have them fit. So, I was annoyed when the band was too large on this bra. It is the second one I've bought in the last year that I've had a problem with. I suppose they are loosening up band sizes in this brand? Everything else was great.
