ORIGINAL REVIEW 12/2022: This bra was probably the best fit for me (FOB, short roots, close-set on top) of all the styles and sizes of Elomi that I've tried, but the fabric was too stiff and scratchy and the wires were a bit firm/tight for my pain situation. The lace on the edge of cups also rubbed uncomfortably into my tail of spence. It's possible that a lighter color fabric would be softer, and that it might get softer after washing, but it's not comfortable enough for me to take that chance. I might revisit in the future if my pain gets better. It is very supportive.
UPDATE 9/2024: ...Well, I did revisit this bra about a year later and now it has become my best fitting, most comfortable bra! It did become MUCH softer and more comfortable after washing and wearing a few times, and all of the itchiness and fabric-related discomfort went away. Wearing an extender the first couple of weeks also helped it be more comfortable during the break in period. Now it is so comfortable that I often forget I'm wearing a bra!
Also, it works well for my asymmetry because of the stretch lace cups. It also has one of the lowest gores of the bras I've tried, which is really helpful because I am quite close set. Love this bra! Read more 117 more words
The cups appear to fit great until I try to relax my arms. Somehow, my breast tissue is squished back into my under arm area, so lowering arm causes it to sit on top of breast tissue (that isn’t usually there!). It feels very unnatural, like I need to keep my arms at an angle (like doing the chicken dance!) . I thought I could fix by extending the straps but they don’t extend near long enough. This is very unfortunate because the rest of the fit (gore, etc) appears very good. Seems to be a very high quality bra.
Fits fairly well but not comfortable enough. The material is somewhat scratchy on the edges, particularly two corners by the clasps that are exposed when hooked on the loosest hook and they poke into my back. Digs into my tail of spence a bit, less than some bras but enough to be annoying. The gore however is a great height for me and is comfortable. Fits my larger breast well, the smaller one has some emptiness at the top of the cup but it's acceptable. I think this is a good shape/style for me but is just not comfortable enough. The fabric might get softer after washing but I think the tail of spence area would still be an issue.
Band is a little too tight- wires dig in a little and it is hard to hook in the back. Cups too loose on top. I have bottom fullness and think this cup height is just too high for me. Stiff lace cup edge digs into my Tail of Spence which is a dealbreaker by itself. Lots of forward projection and supportive "locked and loaded" feel. Returning because I don't think this is a good style for me.
Very comfortable! This is the most comfortable Elomi I've tried yet (have tried Morgan, Kim, and Charley). I'm full on bottom and think this is a good style for me, although there's a bit too much gapping at the top of the cups, so I'm going to try a cup size down. Compared to the other Elomis, this has no stiff lace edging on the sides of the cup to dig into my tail of Spence. The cup edges are very soft and smooth. The only slightly uncomfortable part is the hardware where the straps join the cups, but it may be tolerable. Everything fits and feels great other than the top of the cups. I'm not personally in love with the lacy style that looks full cup on me, but that's not a big deal.
The bra: Four part construction with side support. This bra has a petite cut - shorter gore, sides and more centered straps. Straps are wide, semi-stretch and include a j-hook.
The fit: While the petite cut of the bra was nice, especially when it came to strap placement, the shape of the cups was just not a good fit. These were too big and will be too deep, even in the correct size.
This bra feels nice to wear. The straps are comfortable and the fabric is not itchy. The shop where I was fitted did not have my fitted size (38) in stock so the woman altered the 40in band. Unfortunately, it seems I take a 36in band and the band on this particular bra is incredibly stretchy so it is a poor fit. This is my least favorite bra of any bras I own. I would not even repurchase it in the correct size.
The center gore rises higher than my breasts, pushing my shirt up and off me when I sit (I am very high set and often have this problem with full cups), and the band sides are nice and thick (@3") but roll under my arms making this bra incredibly uncomfortable. I don't quite fill the top of the cups, but seem to fill the bottom of it fairly well. It's a well-constructed, high quality bra, but the style is wrong for my rounded body.
Note that the center gore height measured (3") and the wing height measured (4") are misleading because the bottom of the center gore starts 1.5" above the bottom of the cup, and the bottom of the wing height starts 1" above the bottom of the cup.
