I feel like my ...conclusion after buying this bra is that I will generally fit a 40J in Elomi better, even though that size is generally too small in Panache and Curvy Kate. This is probably due to Elomi’s grading. After wearing the 40JJ over the 40J, there is really no difference in cut at the bottom of the cup for this bra. The bra is only bigger at the apex and top, and taller. Because I’m short rooted I can thus get away with a smaller size.
As far as this particular bra goes, fit is similar to Matilda or my 40JJ - Elomi » Sachi Plunge Bra. It’s wider and taller than 40JJ - Elomi » Kim Plunge Bra (4340) and the top fabric is not elasticized although there is a strip of loose elastic on the top. It does not dig in in either size.
The straps feature a racer back hook which is nice if you wear shirts like that. Band is firm, straps are Elomi’s usual comfortable stuff.
My favorite part of wearing this is the nice rounded shape I get in this bra.
I wanted this because of the beautiful fabric but it is a very scratchy mesh. Much itchier than Sachi’s fabric. I probably won’t wear it because of this so I’ll send it back.
Ooo, this is a bra frame I probably would have settled for if I hadn't already seen the difference Ewa Michalak bras make with the size of their wires. These wires are too wide and tall for me. The straps also don't adjust all the way, which feels weird. High roots beware. The cups aren't quite deep enough for me. I'm still getting the tissue fold over issue on the outer side. I really don't like how all these "side support" style bras just shove tissue to the sides. Seems like the intent is for the opposite to happen. I know it's a cup depth issue. It's just frustrating. I'm almost done reviewing these wide wired bras. I feel like I'm just not gonna be able to wear UK bras anymore. Ewa Michalak just fits my shape so much better. I can't wait for them to come back from holiday! Pretty sure they're back tomorrow. Ok, that's all I have for this bra.
This bra is so close to fitting, and something I would have settled for easily before I tried polish bra maker Ewa Michalak. The cups are close to the correct volume, but the distribution doesn't fit my shape. The band and the straps are comfortable. The gore almost tacks. The wires are too wide and too tall, so the side wrinkles and my tissue is folding over on the edge because the cup is not deep enough for the amount of projection I have. This would be a decent safety bra if I hadn't found Ewa Michalak bras. The fabric also comes up too high under my arms because the wires are so tall. I can see the fabric chaffing my tail of spence region. Good to know this one exists as a backup if I get in a bind. If you have decent projection, but not polish manufacturer levels of projection, this bra frame may be the one for you!
See my review of 40JJ - Elomi » Tia Bandless Bra (4280). This is a more beautiful color and a better fit. In fact, it fits so well by itself I don't think I have to do any alterations at all, except perhaps take in the cup slightly under the arm where it gaps. The wires fit well, the cups fit, band fits. All in all a really lovely bra. I will rebuy it when I have more money.
Current measurements from Reddit calculator: L109, C105,T 97, and S136, LN141, L134. Roots: average to slightly short height, average to slightly wide width. Pendulous, soft, projected, aging tissue. About even fullness, but because it is so soft, functionally fuller on bottom, I'd guess. After a weight change, I needed new bras. My suggested size from the Reddit calculator was 40JJ or 42J (UK), As it can overestimate sizing in softer, less firm and pendulous breasts, I chose 40J/42HH as my starting point, one size smaller than the calculator. I ordered different models in several brands: Panache, Sculptresse by Panache, Elomi, Cleo by Panache, and Goddess.
The ...colorway, Very Pink, in the Brianna is more an electric lavender color. Typical of most UK bras in this size range, it has 3 hooks and straps around 1.8mm; the straps are likely long enough for most people. It, like a few others I tried, was a little creaky in a few places, but imagine if I washed it that this would go away.
The gore tacked nicely, the band fit was snug and didn't feel as if it were going to move, and the bottom of the cup fit in the IMF perfectly. The first time I tried it on, last week, I thought it too tight, but today, it seemed fine. Of course, I've lost 5 pounds in the last week (water weight from changing medication), so that could be why. I left it on by accident after I tried it on today - I got busy (work at home). It was an hour before I remembered it was on and that I needed to take it off. Seems very comfortable.
It is definitely a bit large on my smaller breast. It's just a teensy bit too large at the top of the cup in my larger breast. The wire is tallish, but not poking me. Like all UK bras, the wires/cups are too wide. While the bottom tacks nicely, as the wire heads off in a 50-60 degree angle from the bottom of the cup, I want it to be at an 85 degree angle. At the top of the cup, under my arm, there is at least 6-7 mm of fabric between the wire and the edge of my breast. But, in every other way, the Elomis fit me better than most and I haven't the means to order Polish.
I ordered a 42H to replace it. Now that I've lost a few pounds, I may wish I'd ordered a 40HH instead. I'll measure it soon and find out... I do have photos and I'll get them up soon. Read more 334 more words
See my previous review: 40J - Elomi » Tia Bandless Bra (4280). I will be overlapping the gore. That is the only alteration I need for this amazing bra.
I think the thing I like most about it is it fits well while giving me a more minimized profile, I think by giving my boobs lots of space at the bottom of the bra and a very gradual rounding to the bust point, and having the bust point low enough to get a more rounded top portion. This bra is specially graded for short, narrow rooted folks with a lot of projection. It's really ...a great design. I would love Elomi to make more on this base because I am less of a fan of the feel of the fabric, although this red is perfection and the lace is super soft.
My typical size in Elomi bras is somewhere between 38JJ and 40JJ depending on band and cup depth at the bottom. I would therefore suggest that this bra runs deepest at the bottom and firm in the band.
Alterations: with my favorite Panache wires in it and the gore overlapping the fit is perfect. I don't have any digging in or quadding, and the cup is nice and short on the sides, the gore, and the cup height is perfectly full coverage. A great bra for shorter roots, either full on bottom or full on top because of the stretch lace. Read more 146 more words
40J...I seriously almost decided to keep this bra, despite the fact the the wires seemed to be too wide. It seems to be the first bra in my journey that wasn't too small in the cups (no quad-boob/spillage), AND gave me a shape I like. HOWEVER, the gore HURTS and I just can't live with that. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
Best nursing bra I've found. Fabric is soft and comfortable. Lift is better than other nursing bras I've tried. Can open the cups one-handed but need both hands to do them up again. Good support. Soft cup, no underwire. Does not show through t-shirts.
Another gorgeous tropical pattern on you! So disappointed to read the mesh is scratchy. Do bra designers really select these irritating fabrics???
