This is my second Empreinte Melody Contour Demi Cup in 32E. I picked up this NWT gem for a real deal after going on a hunt because I adored the Melody I picked up here from a fellow Bratabaser. Interestingly, this one is fitting differently than the other - it seemed smaller sort of overall. I decided it was more likely due to me (my body and breasts change depending on where I am in my cycle) until I took a look at the measurements side by side. The Caramel colorway IS smaller. Not by a ton, but it's enough to give me ...some quadding I wish I didn't have. The band is considerably smaller and less stretchy, and that is actually something I'm happy about - I'm on the closest set of hooks with my other Melody, whereas on this new one I'm on the farthest set. This experience and discrepant observations aren't steering me away from this style - I still quite like it - I just find it hard to understand how these bras can retail for $100+ USD with anything less than exacting quality control. I will not be paying retail for one of these bras, ever. Still, the projection, shape, support, and firm yet minimal "padding" are everything I want in a bra. Read more 121 more words
This bra is pretty amazing. Nothing has yet matched my immediate projection AND narrow roots AND given me so much beautiful lift and shaping. There are two things about this bra that, for me are not dealbreakers, but are things others should be aware of - 1) The band is STRETCHY. I started the day on the third hook and am now on the first hook. I will happily alter if need be, but knowing this as I now do, I would have sized down to a 30. This is saying a lot, because 32's are typically TIGHT on me. 2) The ...straps will not go any longer - not a problem for me but for anyone else it could be. I mean very literally that the straps are at maximum length, there is no adjustment left. If you have low set breasts or are taller than the average American woman (64" or thereabouts, I'm 65" with a long torso) you could have a frustrating problem. Now that that's out of the way, back to the pros! My breasts completely fill these cups, including when I am sitting. The cup is an E and I usually take an F, so it's on the larger side for an E, meaning perfect for me as I'm a little deflated from yo-yo weight gain/loss over the years. The center gore is fairly high but comfortable on me - my breasts have some separation. The bra is moulded and therefore padded throughout, but not by a lot... it's like an extra thick lining that hides nipples and provides fantastic shaping. My breasts when unsupported are pendulous (see my shape set http://bra.pe/KCho/ for an idea of what I mean) and this bra picks them right up, when the reverse is often true. Even when I am sitting they stay supported - there is none of that annoying sinking feeling and breast-to-torso contact I so dislike. The lace overlay is really pretty, and gives this otherwise t-shirt bra a nice feminine touch. Under the slinkiest material I own the pattern does not show through. I don't know that I'd ever pay the ridiculous American retail price for this bra ($179, um no....) but I'd buy it again for the price I've paid for other mid-range bras. Read more 292 more words
This is my 3rd cheaply acquired Empreinte, courtesy of a German lingerie purveyor on eBay. Like my other two, the cups are probably a full cup size too small for me, but the fit is otherwise so dang good I'm willing to write off the quadding as a minor problem. If I lose weight it comes straight out of my breasts so this could be a perfect fit ten pounds down from now. Anyway, this denim color is a pretty deep blue lace - with almost a hint of teal - over black moulded cups. The bra band is comfortably stretchy but does not ride up. The projection is pretty generous so I don't have to adjust my boobs too much throughout the day. I would never buy this bra at full price but I'm happily enjoying these bargain acquisitions. The shape they give me under clothing is very nice - lifted and rounded, and front and center. I enjoy that my upper arms don't run into side boob all day.
This bra is a transfer from Wendybien. I knew it would be too big in the band since I normally wear a 28GG. I will have to take in the band . Another beautiful bra with gorgeous details. It is a light blush color and works well for me as a nude. The cups are deep!!! and narrow . They really accommodate my very center full breasts well. Gore tacks pretty well considering I have touching breasts. This is a full coverage bra, cups are a little taller than I like at 8", however they aren't wrinkling on top. There is a ...very tiny bit of wrinkling at the apex that I think could go away when I get the band shortened. It is a little hard to judge because I'm holding the back of the band to try to judge the fit.
The lift is good and gives an understated look in a t shirt. Seams really don't show. Wires are very comfortable. I think this brand is rapidly going to become my favorite brand. I just wish they weren't sooo expensive!!
I think most people would go down one or two cups in this bra because the cups are so deep.
This review is for the @Empreinte Cassiopee Underwired Seamless Bra in the Opaline colorway in 32E UK. My ABTF size is currently 30FF but at the time I bought this it was 32FF.
Band: * Seemed a little more stretchy than I expected. Since buying it my band size has reduced a bit so it's hard to say if it's truly loose or I just need a new size. Has 3 hooks by 3 columns.
Wires: * Narrow, thank goodness for me!
Cups: * Seamless. Gives a natural rounded shape (not cakes on a plate).
Straps: * The straps are fully adjustable and sit nicely.
Fabric: * This has a gorgeous embroidery pattern with iridescent thread. I bought ...it at the holidays and it does sparkle!
Hardware: * The hardware is matching and it has tiny matching bows where the straps meet the cups.
About me: very close set (breasts touch), very narrow roots, very projected at the wire, full on bottom, short roots, soft tissue, significant rib flares, narrow shoulders.
FIT
* The band is more forgiving than I'm used to and that might be what's making this so comfortable with my rib flares. * The wires are wonderfully narrow at this size. * The gore tacks well for me. * The cups are great for my short roots, full on bottom. * The straps are plenty long enough and fully adjustable. This might be considered a center pull because it does not cut into my TOS. * The sides are a comfortable height for me.
OVERALL IMPRESSION * I love it so much that I bought 2 more in other styles! It's the first bra that doesn't hurt my rib flares. This is a pricey bra so if you can get it on sale that's ideal. But since I've tried on many dozens (maybe hundreds) of bras and this is the first that I can wear comfortably all day, it's worth it for me. Read more 199 more words
Fits incredibly deep. Cups are over 10 inches (for a width of 5.3") which is really more volume than I need. In theory I could wear it, and it remains super supportive thanks to the quality of the materials and construction, but I do have a lot of wrinkling. Still very comfortable despite being too big. I don't reach for it due to the size issue but it would be great if I had it in the right size. I suspect this would be a pointier fit than other Empreinte bras in the correct size.
The Lucy is beautifully made and makes a perfect nude for someone with very fair skin. But unfortunately the store where I purchased took almost 2 months to deliver, so althogh it was slightly too big at the time I bought it, it was WAY too big by the time I received it!
Very short, slightly narrow, projected, close set, center full, even breasts....
This is the most immediately projected, molded bra I have ever seen. Like Empreinte unlined bras, even the molded bras are exceptionally projected and narrow. Interestingly, the cup fabric is thin and stiff rather than soft foam. This won't add bulk, and it has the ability to round and center projected, narrow breasts phenomenally well. The lace covered cups disappear under thin knits.
The cups are so narrow that I can't fit into the bottom. But, the projection in this cup designs allows plenty of volume. The gore, like every other gore, is too wide for my close-set breasts. However, the width is admirably narrow down the entire length of the gore.
Although I prefer 28" bands, Empreinte elastics are very supportive in a 32" band. The straps are half-padded and comfortable.
I hope someday to find an Empreinte for me. Until then, here is another for someone else https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />
In my regular bra (Cleo, Freya, Fauve, etc) I'm a solid 28G/30FF. I'm pretty much even, leaning more to FoT.
Since reviews said Empreinte bras run deep, I ordered one size down from my usual size. I ordered 80E (FR sizing, 32E UK), since that was the only one available at the moment I bought it.
Although it says a demi cup bra, this bra acted like a full cup on me. I fill in the bottom of the cup, but the lace on top is a little loose - however it doesn't show underneath clothing, so I'm not bothered by it. Having said that, I think if I ordered ...80D, it probably would fit me better and would actually look like a demi cup.
The straps are only partially adjustable, although I'm fine with it, it's something others might want to take note of. The band is also stretchy, akin to Freya bras. It has only two hooks, but the width is wider than regular Cleo bra. The wires are narrow, so I like that because my breasts need narrow wires. The shape is uplifted. I would say the shape is like Cleo Meg.
All in all, it's a gorgeous and well-made bra. It feels sturdy and even though it's a tiny bit on me cup-wise and band-wise, I still feel supported. A little alteration would fix the problems I'm having. Read more 120 more words
I adore everything about this bra but the price tag. The fit is perfect, even for a hard-to-fit frame like mine. The straps are padded and comfortable, and the lace cup is sexy but still doesn't show under almost every top I own. It's a fantastic bra that I love to wear!
Whoa. That is quite a dimensional difference. Surprise!
