    Didn't fit

This bra is a full lace BM, that extends to the band as well. It's a rich brown colour and the camera honestly doesn't do it justice. The cup has a black lining, which lends to a deeper brown. The cup is four part construction, with a vertical seam on the lower half and a stretchy upper half (the upper half section is lined with stretch tulle). There is also another section of material that connects the upper half, lower half and straps.

When measuring, both the minimum and maximum cup depth were recorded. However it was the maximum cup depth that I had entered in the measurements table. ... The maximum cup depth was measured by stretching the cup over the knee. This was recorded at 14 inches. The minimum cup depth was measured by hovering the cup between the knees and hanging the tape measure. This was recorded at 12.8 inches. The cup depth measurements, do not seem the be the standard for the range however, so it's entirely possible I got a rogue bra.

The band stretches from 22.7 to around 28 inches. I find that doing it up on the 3rd hookset is most comfortable for me. (This is the second loosest hookset)

As for the the fit, it juuust about misses the mark for me. I seem to be having a certain string of luck when it comes to EM bras. On my larger side, I am getting some noticeable centre-spillage, but the bright side is that you can't really see it under clothes (depending on what the top is like). the smaller side has it but to a much lesser extent. The gore sits about one and a half finger away from sternum, which isn't really a problem for me, and I don't consider it a deal breaker. It's something that happens in almost every bra. I am close-set and my centre-fullness, I think, contributes to this occurrence. The bra itself is very comfortable and I honestly can't complain when it comes to that.

One unfortunate thing that seemed to have occurred, was that the stitching on the band (where the elastic is sewed on to the lining and the outer lace) seemed to have unraveled at the end. So I'm not sure what happened there. But I've since stitched that up.

You know, I'm starting to think when every bra that we get seems to be a rogue bra... maybe it's just the norm...

    • lol brasaremean maybe...but then I see other bras in the range with other measurements and I can't justify it.

    • 1

I am so sorry you keep getting the rouge seamstress. My heart goes out to you. 💙
Between the wire width, cup depth, & stitching issues, ugh, I don't even know what to say aside from I am sorry. :-(
      Big hugs 💙

      Thanks MamaPagan

    • 1

I expected a lot more quadding, but it's not terrible. The wonders of 3D bras vs singular measurements! Hopefully you can get some use out of it and it is painfree. 💙

    • 1

Yep.. that's why I'm not too bummed out with this one (^_^). It really did surprise me. I can definitely get some use out of this one. Thanks :)

    • 1

I know howyou feel, I experienced the same thing with my 60L SFs. The measurements did not match the fit. But hey, we'll take smaller measurements with wearability over larger measurements & pains any day!

    • 1

Frazzleberry this is beautiful color on you! It seems to me this amount of overspill is at least partly a size issue, possibly with materials/construction also contributing. I hope I am not being repetitive as I can't see all the comments, but if you rescoop/swoop and immediately force the gore to your sternum, does that eliminate the quadding or just make it worse? If the quadding is worse when you force it to tack, it's clearly at least a bit too small, though the stretchy upper cup material may also be contributing to the fit fail if it is not supportive and strong enough for you. But if force-tacking eliminates the quadding, that may mean that the cup is just buckling (often with fabric scrunching up under the breast more and more as the day goes by), and that a cup of similar volume, but with a more robust construction and materials would actually work great. I noticed that your SF shape bra which has a more open neckline, two seams on the lower cup and does not have the stretchy lace appears to do a better job of containing and supporting all the breast tissue, so those could be features you want to look for in future purchases!

    • wendybien thanks, I really do like the colour on this one. If I reswoop/coop and force-tack the quadding is worse. The SF does support the tissue better (so I would like to try that one again some day..lol), but (and this is a huge one) I get a ridiculous amount of spillage throughout the day with that one. Like not just center spillage but full-on quadding (on both sides).

It didn't seem that way initially when I got it. But once I moved around and started wearing it for the day. Yep. It's also pretty noticeable under most of my tops (the quadding for the SF that is)

    • 1

ok so it's likely a combination of factors with this one, and with the SF I would not be surprised if you needed a bigger cup too (also perhaps the band was too loose for you? can't remember the size now!) Some people find that the "blunted" effect of Ewa's round round cup options can rob them of needed apex projection, so sometimes you can solve that by sizing up, sometimes not... If not, a similar volume but in one of the designs that is also padded and seamed but allowing great apex projection can be the one you want. It's very individual trial-and-error.

Basically when you are in this cup volume range and you are young/growing new tissue and thus have all this dense, heavy, projected natural tissue, especially with a small ribcage, you ideally want all the stars to align for fit to work: the materials should be really supportive (this is why some super-full-bust-range bra peeps strongly prefer a padded material because it is pretty tough once shaped and strengthened by seaming), plus you want ALL THE SEAMS lol and you want them placed just right for your specific body! So yes, that's a lot. But providing all these fit features is part of EM's raison d'etre, so I hope you can figure out the magic formula!

    • Lol yes, there a lot of t's to cross when it comes to what's needed, so I get that.. I do eventually plan to try the SF again in a larger cup size (I had sister sized with that, so it was a 65K) and the S series, just waiting on the right time

    Fits

    BM Brownie 60L

BM Brownie is a full lace BM bra. It is brown with a berry colored larger bow at the gore. It has a sheer black liner to the cups. The lace is the exact same as BM Croptop Topaz, but Topaz has an opaque beige liner to the cups instead. I ordered this bra and 3 others from MagdaBras4you, who provides exceptional customer service. Basically if it is a Polish brand of lingerie, she can get it.

    Now for measurements:

All measurements are taken prior to trying the bra on to insure no figure is obscured by the body. I also take ... all flat measurements before taking the stretched cup then band measurements for the same reason.

The band measures 22.5” and stretches to a max of 28”. It has 3 hooks and 4 rows of eye loops.

    Cup Depth as measured by:
1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance.
    This measurement is: 13”
2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance.
    This measurement is: 16.5”

I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.

The wires used were the lazy J wires that are typically found in the SF style instead of the standard U wires that are found in the BMs. This makes them 6.25” wide instead of the 6”, and also pulls the cups more under the armpit, and the straps more wide set.

The removable paper label was mislabeled as an SF style. The bra is definitely the BM style without the SF stiffness, so it was just a labeling mishap.

    As for fit,
Like my other 60L BMs this one could stand to be a bit smaller as the cups are spacious. Unfortunately the cup size down is too small for me at the moment, so I feel that I am technically between sizes for the BM style. As the 60KK is painfully small in the cup, I will take these at a bit big and yet comfortable happily over the pain. The wide set straps (and lazy J wires) do make the strap meet some arm resistance, so I get a bit of upper cup wrinkle near the strap. The fit would look a bit better, but as you can see, I was slouching in the photos. :-/ This isn’t a problem for me, as it won’t be noticeable under my sweatshirts and doesn’t affect the comfort or support.

From looking at the cup shape, this looks a bit too closed and tall on you. It’s too bad but it’s nice the support is still there.

    • As long as it's comfortable and doesn't cause any pain, I'm happy with it at the moment. But yes, it isn't a perfect fit.

My nipples actually sit at the seam instead of the upper lace section (where they normally do) and it almost tacks, so it's one of those few steps forward, few steps back situations, haha.

    • 1

This is a really pretty bra despite some of the fit issues.

    • 1

      Oh it's beautiful!

    • It really is brasaremean. Something about the earthy tones for me lately. I just love them. 💚

    • 1

btw I always thought nipples should sit at the seam otherwise the bra is too small! How wrong was I?

    • 1

brasaremean I think it all depends on where it's situated?

I really do love this bra (mine are in Miami, so I'm hoping by next week I get it)

    • My nipples almost always sit above that seam, but that doesn't mean you're incorrect. My bras also never tack, which is also supposed to mean too small. I'm happy if it's within a finger's width if tacking. Maybe my bras have always been too small?

    • 1

brasaremean my nipples are never at the seam unless I go down like 3-4 cup sizes. It depends on the person.

    • 1

Frazzleberry Woohoo! I hope they fit you perfectly! 💕

    • 1

      Thanks.

    • 2

Frazzleberry i think it depends on if you are full on top or in bottom. The seam should sit just below your fullest point generally, although different bras have different bust points.

    • 1

      Aaah, kk. That makes sense

    • 1

cupandahalf that makes me sad, I’ll never find a bra short enough.

    • 1

I feel like Goldilocks again, haha. One too small (short?) and the next size up too big (tall?) 😖 Where is the just right bra?!? Do we need to go for a walk through the forest in search of it, Sovavosi? 🌲🌲🌲

    • 1

Sovavosi I feel ya. There are few bras that make my size and none that make my shape. And I’ve grown again so now I think I’m more in the 40K range. :(

    • 1

      cupandahalf I’m so sorry ☹️

    • 1

cupandahalf Sorry honey. Big hugs. 💙💜💚 Do you want to join us in the forest search for the mythical perfect bra?

    Fits

Hm. I've been pondering this bra off and on all day. I've tried this bra that Mamapagan sent to me three different times today, and I just don't know how to assess the fit.

At first glance, there's a lot of wrinkling at the top of the cups. I'm not sure if this is just because I lack the upper fullness or if it's due to the fact that the bra itself is too big.

I have wrinkling on the bottom of the cups, but it's more of an "orange in the glass" effect if that makes sense.

The straps are so wideset that I think it attributes to ... the wrinkling/gapping I'm getting in the top cups.

The band is tricky. The band is too loose on the loosest hooks. The band seems to be a good fit on the third hookset, but after adjusting things a little, I found that the band rode up. Okay, fine, tried the second hookset. This option seemed painfully tight... But after I took some pictures of the fit, the band was riding up?

I don't know how to assess the fit. It's like I'm still getting a teapot effect, i.e. the weight of my breasts are STILL pushing the band up and cups down, which doesn't make sense due to the wrinkling/gapping, UNLESS it's just because of my lack of upper fullness and short root.

Making the band too tight + too tight straps == band rides up.

If it's orange in a glass, are you having wire pain because there is breast tissue that is not contained under your armpits?

This is just my opinion, but I do think that Ewa makes the cups too tall in the upper end of the range and very few people are actually going to fit it. If the bottom of the cup and the sides are filled out, then I'd say that it is a fit.

    • Sovavosi Hm. I understand what you're saying, but it was a combination of one or the other. My band was too tight and the straps were all the way loose, and then my band was too loose and my straps too short.
I have wire pain when I wore it on too tight of a hookset, but that's understandable. I actually had welts from the wires from doing that.
I feel like the bottom of the cup isn't filled out on my smaller side. I have the same issue on my larger side, but not to that extent. So are you saying based on that, that the 60L is too big?

    • 1

Sorry the fit wasn't what you anticipated it to be. Hopefully your bras from Magda will fare better for you. 💙

    • 2

If you’re an omega you probably won’t find wires narrow enough to fit you, if I understand how that works. How do the wires feel otherwise? Do they poke you in the armpit or ribs? If you can live with the wire width then I wouldn’t say it is too big. The first photo from the front looks good to me. You might need a 65 band though.

    • 1

Or not, sorry I thought your snug UB was 29”.

    • 1

      Thanks MamaPagan Me too!

@sovavosi the wire width is fine I feel. I don't have too many issues there. Just the odd cup dilemma.
And haha, nope. Turns out I've been measuring incorrectly, but I'm a consistent 27ish UB anymore.

    • 1

If it helps, here's an article on the orange in glass effect:

      http://www.venusianglow.com/2013/05/empty-space-in-cup-aka-orange-in-glass.html?m=1

    • MamaPagan I thought mine could be considered orange in a glass because my tissue fits everywhere but the top and bottom of the cup, since I have that weird folding underneath my breasts in the cup of the bra.

    • Sorry about the fit :(

    • Not fitting in the bottom could be too shallow or the wires are the wrong shape.

    • Sovavosi Now what do you mean by too shallow? Like the cup? I'm confused :o

    • 1

      Frazzleberry It's okay! :)

    • 1

If the bottom of the cup doesn’t have enough immediate projection then you can get wrinkling at the bottom of the cup. I don’t think it’s too shallow, rather that the wires are the wrong shape. The BM is her most projected bra AFAIK.

    • Sovavosi ah I see, I see. So you're saying my shape is incompatible with a BM?

    • 2

Could be, but at this size there is so little choice. I think the responses in this Reddit thread might help you.

      https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/comments/aons9f/question_is_a_little_wrinkling_in_the_cup_normal/

    • 1

Sovavosi Thanks! That had a lot of helpful information. I'm still curious about how a 60KK might fit haha.

    • 1

DerangedDragons19 I should be getting my BM Brownie sometime this week in 60KK (it finally cleared customs, it arrived the same time as my Gorsenia, so idk why it took so long). I'll be putting up the measurements when I collect it/have the time.

Sovavosi that link was very helpful

    • 1

Frazzleberry ohh goody! I'll be looking forward to your review! :)

    • DerangedDragons19 no problem ;)

    • 2

I think the cups are just straight up too large - wrinkling in the lower cup can also just mean that the lower cup is too big rather than an OiG/depth at the wire issue. I suspect that the extra space is making the bra unstable, and your breast tissue is pushing the excess fabric over the wire at the bottom which is contributing to that teapot effect you're describing.

    • 1

hugsforyourjugs that could very well be! I just didn't know how to assess the fit. I mean, maybe it doesn't fit? Maybe it does? It seems like from different angles it does fit, while others it doesn't fit. The cups felt more comfortable than my JJ's by far, but that doesn't mean it fits either, you know? I have a 60KK BM that should arrive Friday and I'm hoping that'll clear up some of my confusion. :)
      Thanks for your insight!

    • 1

I will say that this bra is the first one that encapsulates all my tissue up where it starta under my arm. I noticed that I didn't have that weird tissue folding/pinching in this bra, so I felt that was a huge step in the right direction for me :)

    • Observe on my left hand side of the side view pictures :)

      http://bra.pe/X0JS/

    • 2

I'm not sure the wrinkling isn't just the bra. I have some wrinkling on various BMs, even ones that are too small.

      Apricot: http://bra.pe/IlBN/
Sofia, when I was swelling out of it and it was painful: http://bra.pe/IlWT/

The bottom of some BMs just wrinkle, I don't know why.

    • 2

I feel that while the BM in our range has decent projection, it still lacks the immediate projection right at the wire. :-/

Not the good size, because the band is really too tight for my usual 38HH and the wires are pulled in my back. EM's size advisor says I should be a 90HH, so I think I'll give a try for the next bras from the brand. Plus, my left breast is well encapsuled, but the right one is too big and the end of the wire hurts. :-/

Measurements are based upon the bra having been worn once. This bra fits like a typical EM BM bra. The color is a dark chocolate brown.

    Fits

My shape: FOB, projected with soft tissue and narrow shoulders
I love the really deep brown color of this bra! It really is like a brownie, with a little raspberry colored bow (that's rather large honestly, but not annoyingly so) at the gore.
This fits me perfectly, though the band feels slightly less snug than my other Ewas. Not a problem; I just wear it on a tighter hook after it's been worn a day. It feels like the cups are a little higher on this model, too, and that the lace is maybe stretcher than other colors? It feels like a tad bigger overall, but not so much that it doesn't fit me.
