BM Sofia is a gorgeous purple over black non padded underwire bra in Ewa’s BM style. The cups are done in the standard format of 2 lower sections connected by one vertical seam, one upper stretch lace horizontal section, and a 4th triangle/wedge section that connects the straps to the cup. The BM style is a fuller coverage bra that separates the breasts beautifully.
Unique features of this bra is the sheer peek-a-boo gore and wing section.
The band measures 22.625” and stretches to a max 28.9”. It has the typical 3 hooks and 4 rows of eye loops.
Cup Depth as measured by:
1 Hovering the cup between the ... knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance.
This measurement is: 12.25”
2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance.
This measurement is: 15”
I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.
The gore is wider at 0.7” while the normal is 0.5-0.6” for this size. I didn’t notice this as being an issue when I tried it on for photos, but felt it was worth mentioning as it is a bit wide for this size.
As for fit, it’s a bit disappointing. The cups are a very full fit, with the top lace straining, doing a slight flattening and cutting in. While it is still wearable, at least at low tide and in winter under sweatshirts, it is not as comfortable as the BMs usually are in this size and that’s only with 5 minutes in so I’m not sure this one is going to work for me. The gore is just over a finger off the sternum which isn’t bad for me. The hook set is comfortable on the tightest hooks which is also typical.
The mesh that lines the stretch lace on the top of the cups is *a lot* firmer than my other BMs, so it doesn’t have as much give as I’m used to, making it less accommodating than most of the BM models. If it wasn’t for that mesh being so firm, I think this one would be a good fit.

Second "all day" wear today, and should be nearing high tide. The top lace tension now feels normal-like the average BM, so between my 10/29 all day wear and storing the cups filled with balled up shirts (don't laugh) it seems to have worked!! Yay for a comfy wearable bra!
