I'm still a rookie, so take my observations with a grain of salt. 😊
My personal negatives : - The gore keeps moving on top of my breast tissue, I can't even get it to stay in my IMF for a minute. The rest of the underwire stays in place and the band is okay as well. I don't know if that's a cup seperation issue or a gore placement/height problem. I'm pretty sure I have inner fullness and close-set breasts, so that makes this tricky. - Also the straps are placed a little too far apart. I have to keep a very good posture or my shoulder push against the ...straps which distorts the cups and causes gaping.
Overall it's still one of my better fitting bras since I have the gore thing in all my other bras too, but this band is a little tighter and more comfortable throughout the day. It's also very pretty. I have to wear it on the third/second to last hook though, so I might sister size down next time, but I'm held back a little because the straps might be even further apart and of course the wires would be wider as well (right?). I was actually advised by Ewa's employee to size up because this model runs tight, but I think I could have gotten my usual band size of 28/60, since I'm technically a 26/55.
I hope this review is useful and I did it right. 😊 Read more 134 more words
Yes, you would be better off in a 60 and maybe even a 55. And I think that would actually help make the straps closer together and cups narrower, not the other way around. BTW, we have pretty much the same under bust measurements. :)
My new Ewa came so fast! It shipped on September 13th and just came today, the 21st! I hadn't even started hoping each day that today was the day - just wasn't on my radar! They did have this one in stock already, so there wasn't the extra delay as it was made (part of why I got the 65D and not the 65DD..)
The cups are so nice and short as I hoped they would be! It's perfect for all my lowest cut scoop necks (and my short short roots!) I do have a bit of in-cup quadding on one side from the small dart that goes ...from the gore in towards the apex but it's not too noticeable.. I worry that in a 65DD the cups and gore could be too tall, particularly since it's so open at the top and my breasts are pretty short. The gore on the 65D is already a bit taller than I would prefer. It might be fine though! It's real tempting to order a second to see https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" />
I am happy with it though! Will have to add measurements/fit/review as soon as I can get to it (grumble grumble it wants me to enter new measurements since it's been too long.. I should do this for my own good I know..) Read more 119 more words
Looking forward to your measurements. I had this in 65DD, and the depth was 9 inches, I wanted to size down, but I wasn't sure if it would be too small (since a 9 inch depth would correctly be on a 65F)
I bought this bra alongside a 3D and a CHP to try out a few different EM styles. Although I didn't buy it for the design, I love how fresh and spring-like it looks and the vibrant colour - the only thing I don't love is the stripy straps, which remind me of a circus tent!
Fit-wise, the band runs quite tight for a 30 band and was probably the tightest of the three EM bras I tried (all in 65D), though I don't know how quickly it would stretch out as I haven't worn it for any length of time. As with the 3D, the cups on this ...are quite wide, although this probably won't be a problem for everyone as my boobs have narrow roots. While I had some empty space at the sides of the cups, the cups were overall too small for me and I was quadboobing into the centre.
I was hoping buying different styles would give me an idea of which style might suit me best, and especially of the difference between the PL and 3D styles, but this was a bit difficult to judge with the cups being too small. Definitely going to try this gorgeous design in a cup size larger though, so hopefully I'll get more of an idea of how the styles differ! Read more 113 more words
This is the bra I ordered from EM on Black Friday. I ordered it because it is in very light soft pink, and I need something that can be worn under light-colored, low-cut clothes. This bra did not fail me in terms of the short cups. But just like every EM 3D/3DM, the wires are too wide for me. The straps are also wide-set. As a result, I feel my boobs are pulled to the sides rather than lifted up, if that makes sense. The cups are not gaping and the volume is approximately okay, but there is some empty space on the sides next to the wire. ...I could use a little less cup depth if the cups were narrower.
I would love some suggestions about what to try next for polish bras. I wanted to try the EM M cut, but they seem even wider than 3D/3DM? Comexim is a possibility but I am confused about their sizing. I really need something in soft/pastel colors with short cups and a low gore. So perhaps I need to ask for reduced cup height and reduced gore? What else do I need to get customized? Currently I am wearing my Curvy Kate bras--Bardot, Madagascar, and Jewel. They fit me really well, but non of them go with my light-colored, low-cut clothes.
Any suggestion would be appreciated. If you need to see my measurements/shape, I listed them in my profile. Read more 132 more words
If you've had good results with Curvy Kate, the simplest solution is 28DD Florence in Blush (pale pink). Ellace in white may be helpful, too.
Ewa Michalak wide straps are nearly infamous. Some users experience great results moving the straps and attaching them a bit closer to the gore. It can change the fit of the bra...
Comexim. Do you prefer lined or unlined?
I second Ellace in white. Should be a very similar cut to your fitting Curvy Kates.
Love4Pollinators cupandahalf Thank you for the suggestions, but Ellace is a horrible fit on me. The cups are way taller than the said similar cuts. Florence does not come in 28DD. Besides, all these bras are balconettes, so the gore sometimes goes above the neckline when I wear my low-cut clothes. I really need a plunge bra in soft colors.
It seems the straps of this bra are wider than the EMs I previously own. I think this explains a lot--in the past I was able to wear the slightly-too-wide bras comfortably if the straps were not so wide to pull the cups apart. I may try to move in the straps or just tolerate it, because I like the look of this bra so much.
I am fine with lightly lined or unlined. Unlined bras work better in the hot summers (I live in AZ), but lined bras are great too, as long as they are comfortable and compatible with my clothes.
I was worried about Ellace being too tall, and Florence will be too. Curvy Kate Lifestyle now comes in a sheer beige. It's very plunging and the cups seem quite low, but it starts at a 30D. However I found the band a firm 30. Because it's sheer it might not be too dark on you.
Comexim Ginger might work. Light, very deep plunge.
It is amazing how the scaling changes in these product lines. In my size, CK straps are narrower than AN and the cups are shorter. We may need to enlist the help of someone more familiar with your size range.
Great news: Comexim will alter the straps and move them in for you :-) :-)
Replace AN with EM above. Autocorrect.
cupandahalf Thank you! I will look into the options you suggested. Looking at the measurements of Ginger, I may need something around 65E/F? Love4Pollinators I agree, sometimes scaling changes fit in the larger/smaller sizes. In my size range CK also has narrower straps than EM. I am not sure about cup height since I have been trying different styles for these brands, balconettes for CK and plunges for EM. Normally I don't have issues with straps, it is only this EM bra. Are Comexim straps wide-set too?
I bought this and the Ch Cherry to review on my blog, and alas, neither of them fit. This one is a mystery to me, as it has similar cup depth as most of my well fitting bras. I think it's just the fact that it's so low-coverage, it makes me quad. I need a 65DD. Hopefully I can sell and replace them both before they're gone =/ I was so excited to add reviews for these.
Such an adorable set. Hope it sells for you quickly!
If I was a D I'd buy this in a heartbeat! It's so stinking cute. I'm on a bra ban now and I'm only buying one more (second hand, won't get another chance). I think this might be my next one after my ban is lifted.
Oh, forgot. How do the shorts fit/true to size? Are they comfy?
gratiat It is super cute! I'd recommend it. It's really comfortable too. I just mostly based my sizes off my Lawenda and forgot it ran small Dx
The shorts are really comfortable and well made. They run TTS if not a little big since they're pretty stretchy. I got a 36 and recently gained some weight and they still ended up fitting perfectly. I'm measuring about 37-37.5 in the hip right now.
*Ran large, I mean
Thanks! It looks like this'll be my next next bra then. I love the glamour but the S style is so high cut on me and I fall out of a plunge.
what are your measurements? UB and OB leaning over?
gratiat np! And yay! I'm sure you'll love it :) if it helps, the bra seems to run TTS also.
@newhere My UB is currently 29 and OB is 34.5-35 and I am tuberous, so anywhere from a bigger 30D to 30DD. I should have gotten the 65DD for sure. :/
Queequeg0925 are you going to get a 65DD? I have one and I feel it's very open on top (like its a bit bigger/more open than the CHP Colette I got-- both 65DD). If you do get it, I'll be interested in your review.
Prettyncharmeuse I hope to! As long as this sells, I should have enough to replace it :)
But I can see what you mean. However that worries me about the 65DD Dx I actually just re-measured myself and am between 35.5 and 36 OB again somehow and this almost fits (@newhere sorry about that, my boobs are really all over the place lately. Driving me nuts :[ ). The only way I can see that making much sense is that it's very open on top. But if and when it sells I'll tag you in my review for the 65DD.
do you fit in 65E CH? we have almost same measurements. i was 35.2 last time i measured. or is it too big? was thinking of getting that.
newhere For this, I would get a 65DD even at 35-36". If you're 35.2, I'd say try the 65DD.
Right now I would have fit my 70D Ch Lawenda better than the 70C I have. That runs large in the cups, so I'd say I should still wear 65DD in the Ch.
I do think Prettyncharmeuse is right that it's open on top as well, and I currently have to size down in bras that have a lot of room on top.
I'm estimating that 65DD will have about 8" depth at the deepest spot (on top) and 65E should have...8.5" or so?
Hmm.. perhaps I'll do an in depth review on this one anyway. I'll try and do it tonight so I can check it out a bit more.
I purchased this because the despite the tagged size, the measurements looked good. Either the previous owner measured incorrectly or I converted incorrectly, but this is too small for me.
Very pretty, the main material is a light cocoa brown. The lace overlay is pale pinkish tan, the ruffles and rippled ribbon as well as the straps are a pale pink. The band is true to an EM 65.
Boo! This is thisclose to fitting me. It's really pretty and it's really comfortable. It's also a really great example of Ewa's inconsistent sizing. I comfortably wear a 65E and a 65F in her soft cups, and this is pretty close. I don't care what the label says, this is a 65DD/E.
This bra was one of three I ordered in different styles from Ewa Michalak - a PL, a 3D and a CHP, all in 65D. I used the calculator as a starting point for my size, which gave me 65DD (a sister size to the 28E I normally wear) but decided to size down a cup because using my leaning measurement normally overestimates.
In my case it seems that the calculator was accurate after all, as this bra was a cup size too small even without the removable pads. The cups are quite wide so I had a fair bit of empty space at the sides, while also quadboobing ...into the centre (not visible very well in the photographs, as the bulging was near the gore rather than at the top of the cups) - almost as if the cups were set too wide for me. The band is firm and does seem to run a bit tight for a 30 band, though I wonder how quickly it would stretch out since even after just trying it on a couple of times it seemed a bit looser. The cups are quite flat and shallow, I guess partly designed that way for cleavage.
I'm planning to try this style in a cup size up at some point - not totally sure whether the issues I had with this bra would be solved in a larger cup size, but EM bras are so pretty it's worth a try! Read more 136 more words
Everyone has told me that Ewa Michalak bras run small in the band and to size up. I didn't size up and stuck with a 30. I wear it on the last hook and don't have any issues. I do prefer a firm band, though, since I have Ehlers Danlos syndrome and fibromyalgia, which make me prone to chronic pain in the thoracic outlet area. The firm band prevents me from tensing up my shoulders, chest, and neck.
The cups on this bra are too small for me. Aside for taking the measurements for Bratabase, I didn't try removing the pads, but I am ...guessing that I would still have outer cup/armpit spillage.
Otherwise, I was impressed with how this bra was able to gather my breast tissue (which spans the whole width of my chest and armpits) and narrow the gap between my breasts.
It sounds really cheesy, but this bra makes me excited to get dressed in the morning and I usually wear it if I'm having a bad day health-wise. There's something about the rhinestones, the bows, and the lace that make this bra feel special and like it's some form of "self care" even if I'm just running errands and have nowhere important to be. This is one of Ewa tighter bands, I wear two hooks extended for comfort. The 3D cut is the best up-center pushing cut from Ewa for my FOB breasts. As all bras of this cut it is close to too high in the armpit but wearable with extender. The bra cuts in my breast muscle if I do not extend enough but this is true for all bras of this cut. The looser the band the better for me. Colorwise the bra is like a blueberry smoothie. It is not a definite violet but close enough. Compares to me previous experiences this model is quite big or open for a 3D which results in a slightly more rounded shape. 3Ds usually tend to a more pointy shape.
This as my second try with CH Cherry, my EM standard size this time. The first try was with size 65C as everyone told my "size down, its sooo big". This was not true for me, I got serious quadding and returned the bra. The bra fits in my standard size through it is on the larger side. In smaller days I get a tiny bit of gaping top center (I am FOB and have a larger distance between my breasts). The shape is really up and out and centered which is far away even from my good old CH Owoce Lesne some seasons ago. I am still struggling ...a bit with the strappy detail as I am not good in finding the point between digging in and being too loose, but most of my tops are not low cot enough to show them anyway. The band as well as the straps are on the stretchier side for Ewa, I wear the bra with one hook of extender for comfort. Speaking of comport, I expected the bra to be less comfy but it is one of my comfiest Ewa bras (and I have quite some) both gore and in the armpits. I hope she will release some more CH cuts in the future. Read more 103 more words
A gorgeous bra, and my first Ewa Michalak...and my wallet might be in trouble, because I love it a lot!
I think it is pretty much a perfect fit, the best fitting bra I've had yet! I have breasts with immediate projection and tall shallow roots that are also very close set. Other half cups sometimes gape on me, but I get no gaping with this, woohoo! And the gore is nice and narrow as well as very short. The band feels true to size to me (equivalent to a 30 band).
The cookies aren't necessary for a good fit for me, but they do give a bit of extra oomph, so I might wear them sometimes with a low cut neckline. The outer fabric has a silky feeling, and the inside of the cups is a soft cotton.
This is my first CO from Ewa. I have FOB breasts, rather high set and neither shallow nor projected or something in this range. I am pretty consistent In my Ewa size (basically all padded styles seem to fit in 65D with more or less hooks from an extender on the beginning), so I decided to get this one to replace my older PL styles. I think it is not surprising that the size fits like all my other Ewas. I cannot say anything new about the PL style, I guess. On me it is slightly less covering and shaping a bit more to the center than the M why ...I decided to go for this CO. Compared to my older styles the bra gives more push to my breasts, it looks like Ewa has worked on the pattern a bit. I really like the color of the bra but I do not love the lighter straps, in my opinion it would look a bit better with darker straps. Anyhow when wearing a top under a thin blouse, this bra can work as a nude which is also a good deal. It is one of the stiffer bras and it makes some sounds when being worn but this will stop with some time of wearing. Read more 105 more words
This bra is slightly too small now but 65DD CHs are slightly too big on my smaller side. So this is a bra that I'll be keeping, since it has great multiway straps and I can wear it as a strapless (though EM says not to do that).
I would say CHs ideally fit a slightly narrow/projected even shape due to the good immediate projection and open on top cut. However I am FOB and the fit is still pretty good. The band on this bra is slightly strange. It has boning halfway through and then the bit near the clasp is more stretchy. Personally I don't like ...the appearance of the back but it doesn't change the fit for me. The bra design is a simple black color that works well under clothes that aren't too thin (some outfits the dark colour or seams do show through). I comes with 2 sets of straps, a normal black pair and a padded pair. I find the padded ones to be excessive on me but if you dislike thin straps they would be very comfortable.
Overall this is a great simple multipurpose bra that can work for many different shapes. Read more 92 more words
This bra is slightly too small for me now but it's still one of my favorites. It would be best for even shapes with average roots, as I have a bit of space on the sides and a bit of collapsing in the cups. Overall it's a great lower coverage bra
I bought this bra a a replacement for my loves CHP Groszki i roze in the same size. My breasts are average - narrow and FOB. As the forerunner the bra fits very good, the band is a bit tighter than my older model so I wear it with an extender. The shape is very rounded, I can wear this bra with low cut tops. I am still struggling a bit so find the best adjustment of straps and band. When I choose a tighter band the bra stats to hurt in my armpit, so I have to be a bit careful. The material is not so soft as the ...material from Groszki, but I guess this will get better while wearing this bra for a while. Till now the bra is creaking sometimes. I cannot say anything unexpected apart from the fact that the color is much more beautiful than in the online shop. I tried to find a comparison for a while and I guess the best description is "raspberry syrup" or something similar. It is really beautiful and I love the fact that the straps have a matching color and are not black.
Turns out the user who sold this to me was correct, this bra is too small for me. It fits my smaller breast well of my smallest days, but my larger side quads way too much. The gore still tacks.
Gorgeous design and sturdy materials. The metallic accordion-style-ruffles show under most of my shirts (and are surprisingly stiff to touch), and the pom-poms are there to stay. The band seemed TTS before I altered it. Nice narrow wires and good projection - the wires fit me wonderfully. The tops of the cups may be a bit closed due to the trim? Hard to tell with it being too small for me already. There are 3 columns of 2 hooks and NO cookie pockets.
