So this bra finally came in the mail and I love it! It's so nice to finally have a bra that fits again. It seems that this bra runs tight in the band usually (which had me worried), but mine is actually pretty much exactly TTS. It took some maneuvering to get the bra clasped, but that's because I usually wear 32 bands. This band stretches to pretty much exactly 30 inches.
One problem I am having with this bra though is a lack of immediate projection that I haven't noticed in my other S cut bras. The bottom of the cup is visibly collapsing because of this, and I tried to show that in some of the pictures.
Too bad about the immediate depth, but it looks great on you!
Such a cute bra! I love it!
Yay for a fitting bra plus it looks great on you! Maybe the collapsing will go away as your breasts settle into the bra after longer wear? Assuming you haven't worn it long for photos of course. I find my breasts move a little with wear.
I do sometimes get some of that in my Ss. but i like them, so . .
dbmamaz I usually get a little bit, but not like this (the pictures didn't capture it that well). The foam feels a little thinner I think, and the fabric is kinda thin and clingy so that probably makes it look worse too
This looks great on you! Even though I probably still wouldn't have kept mine I'm jealous yours is more true to size. I had the plunge version but still I had some wrinkles in the bottoms of the cups too more towards the center.
Another lovely offering from Ewa Michalak, my first unpadded bra which I've tried from them! The design and material quality is high as usual, and they have their usual attention to detail.
Firstly, a few basic facts about the bra- it's got a 4 piece cup, with 3 vertical parts and a horizontal part on top. The cups are made of a single layer of lace, with a large floral pattern. The straps are fully adjustable and have a small decorative detail on them. The colour is a very pale apricot/beige, which acts as nude on me, but may be more of a white/pale bra on someone who is ...less fair skinned. There are 4 rows with 3 columns of hooks.
Some of the things that I don't like? The cups are a lot too tall for me- I have the perpetual problem of breasts which are deeper than they are tall or wide, and it turns out that trying to fit to my depth has awkward consequences. The straps are also too wide-set for my shoulders. I also found that my apex lined up with one of the holes in the lace, which meant that I could potentially have a nipple protrude from the holes (which would be rather awkward). The band is too long (not super surprising as I ordered one band size up to get the volume I thought I wanted), and I have odd looseness in the top of the band between the wire and the strap.
Things that I do like? It looks lovely, and the wires are roughly the correct width. I could maybe do with slightly narrower wires, but they aren't uncomfortably wide. The straps are sturdy and fully adjustable, which is always a plus in my books. The cup has good depth for my projected breasts, and gives a nice round shape at the bottom which keeps my breasts at my front and not at the sides, like the description of the bra.
I'm planning to have a go at some alterations, and will also hopefully add some more notes after I've worn the bra for a while.
Edit: I've now had this bra for about 6 months. I ended up removing the top triangle which attached the strap to the cup, making the cup effectively shorter (and more full coverage). With my breasts which are deeper than they are tall or wide, this was actually a pretty good solution. I like the cup shape, even post alteration, the vertical seams give lift and a round appearance. I also shortened the band a little to make it more firm and supportive.
Unfortunately, the band construction just isn't stable enough to be comfortable for extended wear for me. I think that EM bras are designed with a more 'V' shaped ribcage than I have, and also, the fastenings seem to only hold the bottom 1/3 of the band firmly, leaving the rest loose as they're not tall enough. This means that the elastic at the bottom of the bra tends to dig in and roll under if I actually do anything in the bra, and the wires tend to curve outwards at the sides, compromising cup support and poking me in the armpits.
It's one of my bras in regular rotation, and it's still in good condition after reasonably regular wear (1-3 days a week). The band is still quite firm, and the only real sign of wear I've noticed is a little bit of pilling under the arms (but I'm not sure how on earth you'd avoid that). Read more 481 more words
I have this bra in 70J too (also should have ordered 65JJ). This one doesn't look like it is too big, just too tall. This makes me think there is no way you need more than one cup down (to 60L) in the S Iwette, but there is a chance you can salvage your 65L by shortening the band, shortening the top panel of the cups, and moving the straps.
This one is pretty good actually, and the fabric means I can put a dart in if I get extra room at the sides when I'm done. I'm waiting to see if alisa wants to swap for her 70K Bezyk, which I'd be open to doing to compare volume. I think the moral to this story is, that foam cups are terrible for my breast shape, and I need to stick to unpadded styles. The depth and width of the two are comparable, but foam doesn't agree with my short breasts at all. The 60L could be better, but I may be happy to make do with both in the 65L (it saves on postage this way). I already have one bra with baggy foam cups, I'm sure another won't kill me. :)
Yes, I agree. It's interesting because you have these two bras in the same size and the mesh one is clearly so much better, and I have these two bras in the same size and they fit more or less the same, though I prefer the foam for the shape it gives me, even though it wrinkles at the bottom of the cups from not enough immediate depth. I guess this is why so many different bra models exist, no design works for everyone.
This is a basic plunge bra in a 'toffee' colour, which I'd consider to be skin colour on me (points to EM for recognising there is more than one kind of nude). In this size range, the cup is made out of four parts, and has fully adjustable straps.
This bra is a curious failure in many ways. Too large in the back is it's simplest problem, and the one which would be easiest to remedy. It's stretched length is comparable to other 28 band bras I've had, so it probably runs a little tight for it's size, but my ideal bra would probably be a 26 band or ...a really tight 28, so I never really expected it to be firm enough. It is actually the first bra I've tried on in quite some time which has a wire which is about the correct width for my breast tissue. While I marked it as being too wide in the cups, this is more because of the fabric than the wire width. All the really weird fun things are mostly related to the fact that the cup cannot come up high enough on my petite frame with a high root, and the straps are too wide.
I spill into the centre of the bra (I'm not sure whether my breasts would function better with a bra with a higher, narrower gore or whether it's just everything else causing these problems), and my breasts kind of pool in the bottom of the plunge, with huge gapping at the sides. If I could somehow make my shoulders about 2 inches wider, I'm actually quadboobing out of the cup quite noticeably. It's actually not overly uncomfortable (or maybe it's just that all my other bras are so bad), but it looks dreadful.
Positives about the bra? It looks lovely and like it would be really nice under a T-shirt with it's smooth line. The quality of the materials is very high as well, and it feels far superior to my Curvy Kate Moulded bras.
With a bit of determination and creativity, I did manage to transform this into something which is wearable but not ideal, so I can add some additional thoughts.
The straps on this bra are the most ridiculous torture device known to bra kind. Despite being very wide (which is good), they aren't stable at all, so they fold under themselves and dig into my shoulders. I'm planning to put in some other straps at some point, which will hopefully make the bra less painful. I also noticed that the band stretched out quite a lot during the initial few weeks of wear. I ended up taking the bra in several times in order to make it sufficiently snug for me. I don't feel like plunge bras are a real winner for my shape, I'm a bit too top centre full for them to work very well. Still, it's a bra which doesn't show up under shirts, even very light shirts in light colours, and I haven't had one of those for ages, so even this bra has a silver lining. Read more 408 more words
There are so many issues with this bra that I wouldn't even know where to begin. It's not a secret that I have a great distaste for Ewa Michalak and I pray every day that there will be another brand that works for me better than they do, but being a 30KK across most of the brands has made that quite difficult.
Anyways, when I received this bra from another user, it was already altered in some ways. The height of the cups were lowered and the straps were moved inward. I had to do more reconstruction.
The wires are odd shaped and reach way back ...under my arms and is a ridiculous width for someone with a 30" frame, but that's an issue for another time. The material of the cups, for being a padded is terrible for breasts my size and weight. Because of how flimsy they are, they don't really hold shape and so they did a lot of tugging on my shoulders. The straps that the bra was created with required some replacement so I didn't end up with unbearably painful shoulders. It had even gotten to the point where I couldn't wait to rip the bra off because the straps weren't right. The straps that the bra came with weren't fully adjustable and so I cut them down a whole lot to wear them before I even replaced them. The band is actually true to size, I'd say, which was nice and had a nice width across my back.
Overall, this bra is of poor quality for large breasts, I'd say. Even though the shape goes to the largest that EM will make, I wouldn't recommend it. Read more 177 more words
I think it's really interesting how we got such a different fit in this bra. Yes, it was initially too big for me, but after bringing the cup height down, I was really happy with the fit and would have kept wearing it if it wasn't too small. Of course, my breasts are basically the opposite of yours (firm and slightly fuller on top instead of soft and bottom heavy). I think this really goes to show how much shape plays a huge factor in bra fit as much as size does.
Ereshiy It really does. I'm far too soft for anything but sturdy cups. Any kind of leeway and my shoulders suffer from the straps. I have pictures of the crappy alteration I did. I took the comfort straps from my Lilia and sewed it onto this so I can make it wearable.
This is my consolation bra for not being able to get an S Ptys, and it's a pretty good consolation in my books. The bra has a 4-piece construction in the cup (3 vertical and a horizontal on top), is made of a lightly padded material, and is a coral colour with black polka-dots on the cups and band. The straps are half adjustable, and the fastening has 4 rows of 3 columns of hooks. The quality of materials is very high- the bra is sturdy, and has lovely, smooth material and Ewa Michalak's usual attention to detail.
The cup is too tall, and the straps are too wide-set ...for my liking, and also don't adjust to be short enough, although the soft, wide fabric straps are incredibly comfortable and don't cut in. The cup is a bit big, but I'm not sure if my very projected breasts would make smaller size too small. The band is too long, but I expected it to be too long, as I went one band size up to get the volume I thought would be correct.
I love the way that this looks on- the coral seems to be a nice match for my skin tone. The black lace on the cups actually doesn't show up, so you have a smooth outline when wearing it. I have a very round, uplifted projected shape, which I rather enjoy.
I ended up altering the bra by folding the top panel of the cups down to make a half-cup and moving the straps inwards so that they'll stay on my shoulders. I'm quite happy with this alteration, I've made myself a very deep, open half-cup in a size in which no half-cups are made. The bra is very comfortable to wear, except the elastic trim on the base of the bra does have a tendency to roll under a little and cut into me sometimes. Read more 208 more words
Too bad about the immediate depth, but it looks great on you!
