Apparently I'd never written a review for this bra - but since it's one of my favorites, it totally deserves one!
This bra feels almost made to measure. It fits super well and is so comfortable overall.
The wings are really low for an EM bra and for this size, which is *great* for me personally, but might be an issue for people that prefer more containment on the side.
I also love how it has the double V-attachment for the shoulder straps in the back, very similar to my Ewa Michalak Ja Wiem bra. This feature, combined with the decorative straps in the front, helps ...'center' the strap placement a little more - which is great as I always suffer from wide-set straps.
My most common size in Ewa Michalak is 70GG and for this bra, that size is definitely spot on. So I do feel it runs true to size.
Projection is good, quite different than my @Ja Wiem, that has more of an 'upward slope' in it's projection and less immediate projection like this Sieci.
The briefs (in my standard Ewa size 40) are comfy and cute as well, even though the added strap make them sliiightly less of a comfort choice, more of a 'making a point of wearing the full set' kind of style.
Quality is great - as I've had this set for 3+ years, wearing and washing it often, and honestly it seems almost as new!
Edit / PS: forgot to mention there's a removable criss-cross strap situation that connects to the bra + briefs, which is why there's loops on the bra band; but to be honest I'm too lazy to ever really add that haha. Read more 176 more words
that's great to hear about the quality as I am pretty new to EM, so I'm not sure how long they will all last!
WOW! Phenomenal fit! Looks perfect on you. It’s really cool and strap-tastic.
What a beautiful bra!
Stunning on you! And wow, three years? That makes her bras more than worth the prices!
Yeah: turns out I ordered it in March 2018!
I do have a pretty large rotation, but think I've definitely worn it twice a month since then? And washed it every other month or so?
Her bras do seem very well made. I hope mine last that long too!
Funny I suddenly was confused - I have an SM that has straps to go w the panties too - but its not that one! I havent worn it in a while because I got the 75K - Ewa Michalak » Smn Buduar , which has a weird lace flap with its own separate straps, making it hard to put on or wear as a 'normal' bra.
Also - for people who havent tried ewas - my first FB from her was not the current model standards and I got it new, and I still wear it 3 years later. The next two FBs I bought are almost 3 years old and are in nearly perfect condition.
The FBs are even more sturdy (and expensive) but yes - the old bit about - buy bras tight enough so they still fit when they stretch out? Not Ewas. Some of them are stretchy and some just arent. I have bras which will need extenders to the day they die because the bands were tight and just dont stretch out.
I think the SMNs are more projected at the wire too. They feel deeper, and they still give a nice round shape, but they're not as compact as the SM. I wasn't sure if I would like the SMN when she first released it, but I really love it, especially now that she has some in a more cutesy and colorful aesthetic.
I don't have this specific set, I'm not a strappy kind of woman, and I always cut them off, but I think it looks amazing on you! The beige panels are a good match for you, looks like more woman and less bra.
As for quality, in my experience - Ewas last forever. I have a lot of bras, but I do wear them all. I have a couple that are pushing like 8 years old now and they're still going strong. They really don't stretch out much with proper care. The cups stay supportive, too; if anything breaks down, it's typically the straps. I've seen a few wire snaps on her Facebook too, so I suppose that happens, but for the life of me, I can't say how! Ewa is an engineer, and that comes through in her bra construction. Some of my lace bras are pilly, but that's truly the only wear they really show.
I can definitely attest to the quality and longevity of Ewa Bras. I still have some from 2015 that look new and preform just the same as the day I got them. The only bra that pooped out on me was my beloved Wróżka. And it’s just the backband fabric in the back. I’m planning to replace the band fabric and breath new life into it. Other than that, the cups, straps, and hardware are all going strong. Same with her panties. They last forever!
Funnily my quality experience with Ewa is reverse from Comexims:
For Ewa, I feel the mesh bras last forever and keep their shape / firmness SO well.
However the 'lined' poly material bras, I've tried; S Turkusowe Kwiaty and PL Kicia Szalowa, did really get worn out over time!
Their band stretched wayyyy out and the outer cup material became looser than the inner cup lining..
Lace BM's are in-between for me quality wise, some pilling and discoloration with washing but the overall fit says okay.
For Comexims I have the opposite experience: the poly / silky lined bras like Andromeda hold up awesomely, while the meshy bras like Tropical Garden or Yoko loose their shape, start buckling and the band wears out quickly.
So for me for longevity, in Comexim I prefer to buy lined/poly/opaque material bras, while for Ewa I'd much rather go for mesh.
Interesting, right?
I so wish I could wear a bra like this because I love the sheer look, and the shape you have in it is incredible! But I fear the gore is way too high and my boobs actually hate unlined bras, just outright refuse to comply. Lol
Which kinda sucks as everyone here seems to want people to put on an unlined style to help assess fit needs. I only have the one unlined (in a cup size that no longer fits me, its a 32FF and my 32GG bras are way too small right now) and it was because I liked the fabric so much and it was made to the same pattern as the lined bras I'd been wearing so I thought it would work just as well. But the fit/shape was simply not good. Just allowed my tube-boobs to stay mostly as tubes which wasn't very flattering. Plus the cup wrinkled where I couldn't fill it (near the straps) which is at least hidden in lined cups.
But it was such a pretty red bra so I kept it for Valentine's.
back on the Ewa quality train - i do have a few hooks/eyes coming loose. mostly on the one first FB i bought which I think was before the model was finalized, and i forget which other one
When I was in Kraków, Poland for work recently, I wanted to visit a store where I could try on some Polish bras 'in the flesh'. Didn't have much spare time so I could only visit 1 shop for max. 1 hour.. Some googling led me to *Brafitteria*.
I was somewhat disappointed when it turned out they mostly sold regular / UK brands like Freya, Gossard, Cleo and Panache.. No Avocado or other Polish brands. But luckily they did also have a small collection of Ewa Michalak! My experience with EM so far was limited to the two bras I already owned (70H - Ewa Michalak » ...S Turkusowe Kwiaty (703) and 70GG - Ewa Michalak » Pl Kicia Szałowa and I had never tried any unlined EM bras.
I was especially excited to try Czarna Mgielka, as I've coveted that bra for years but was never sure which size to order.. and semi-cautious because I'd read about scratchy fabric / tight band, high wings and possible stabby gore; making me want to try it on first. The Brafitteria store had Czarna in 70H (too big) and 70G (too small). So a classic Goldilocks moment 💁🏼 but very useful to determine my size and confirming that the rest of the issues I could deal with. So YES I still want Czarna and I'll probably order it soon in 70GG!
Anyway, back to (edit: not Ty Wiesz but) Ja Wiem..: I had _not_ expected to fall for this bra. I'd seen it around on EM's website but I dismissed it as too boudoir (and too expensive to justify buying just for occasional wear) - and I didn't like the rhinestones. But at the Brafitteria store it was one of few bras in my size, so I did try it on and... WOW, epic uplift! This bra felt great, almost like it was made to measure. No straps chafing my armpits (hallelujah!), no wrinkling, comfy band, wires pretty much perfectly matched my IMF.. And I actually really liked the design. Very pale powder pink with contrasting black seam finishing, like a ballerina gone bad girl 😉
So, because I had allowed myself to get one bra as a souvenir from Poland, I bought the set!
I've worn it frequently over the past few weeks, with good results. This bra is really well-constructed and very comfortable. The 70 band fits snugly on the second (out of 4) set of eyes. Same as my other EM's in a 70 back, that I've been wearing on the 2nd hook from the start and progressed to the 3rd hooks on thinner days or between washings. Fine by me and as I've found Ewa's bands to be pretty stretchy-but-sturdy, I wouldn't go for a 65.
So in this bra's shoulder/armpit area, I don't know what magic they used but the straps do not bother my armpits - at all. On my first EM (Kwiaty, S style) the straps were wayyy too wide set and I've altered them since. On Kicia, my second (PL style) it was better, but on this SM the strap placement is awesome. Hoping Ewa will apply this to more future bras! Also, the wires are nice and low under my armpits! Chafing straps and poking wires often bother me, but this really is a happy-armpit-bra 🙂 Yay!
However this bra is probably 95% but not 100% perfect, some small issues considering projection / size: The wires are quite narrow (feels like a smidge too narrow, perhaps?). After wearing, the wire marks on the side do align well with my breast root / IMF but under my boobs, the marks are a bit too low. This is often an issue for me (and usually much worse), with buckling / folds & 'orange in a glass' in bras with insufficient projection. In this bra, the projection angle is a bit weird actually. It doesn't project forward (like a 90' angle) but more upward (like a 50' angle), if that makes sense? I believe this is also what makes the wire slide down a bit. I'd almost consider a 70H for projection - and because on my bigger side, there's some in-cup quadding next to the black seams, where the powder pink fabric has more 'give' than the seam. But the cups in this size are already quite tall on me (the straps will definitely show under anything other than high-necked shirts) and the 70H Czarna was definitely big, confirming that 70GG is probably the best size for me in unlined Ewa's.
Oh and I also bought the matching strappy briefs, which look amazing on (with many laces & straps, great design!) and fit very well in size 40. So far I've experienced Ewa's briefs and thongs to run pretty generous, as in other brands like C'Kate, Gossard etc. I normally wear 14 (42) and sometimes even upsize to 16 (44).
So all in all, some nitpicking issues aside, Ja Wiem is great and I'm very happy with this unexpected purchase from Poland!
P.S: Sadly the rhinestone adornments cannot be easily removed like I'd hoped, as they are actually part of the sliders to adjust the upper straps. Guess I'll have to get used to them or attach new sliders. Removing the straps is also an option but IMO this would make the bra less special? Read more 781 more words
Thank you for the comprehensive review. I'm impressed with the lift you're getting, too.
Great review. How do you feel about those doubled straps in the back??
I suspect that doubled, harness-y type detail of the straps at the back is actually what is preventing the bra straps from bothering your armpit. It probably results in the straps sitting on your shoulders in a more comfortable position as they are angled more toward the center of your back.
I believe the SM runs super shallow like that in order to lift the breasts higher - some people get amazing uplift in it, esp for FOT firm types, iir
Looks beautiful on you! This particular bra never appealed to me either, until I saw your review and pics. I especially love the back strap detail - it really does look like it makes a big difference in comfort. The more even division of tension along the back of the band is so simple and brilliant if it directs straps and pressure to more comfortable positions. I wish she made it an option on all her bras now!
wendybien , Stinkmouse & chirality , you're probably right I hadn't even realized! How the back straps are probably making a difference in the way the tension is distributed. So yes I really like the look and feel of this doubled back strap 😊
And oops, browsing EM's site to see if there's more of this double back strap glory bras: I just realized this is Ja Wiem, not Ty Wiesz.. The black&white picture on Ewa's site confused me 😬 Edited review with the right bra name!
LOL thats so funny - my first notification of update on this bra took me to the old one and the second notification came here
SO happy to have this - took me about a year to actually order it.. Almost missed out, seems like they're discontinuing Kicia?
Luckily Kaszka from EM agreed to have them make me a PL plunge style instead of the S, and it turned out great! Decided on a 70GG and it fits well without the cookies.
The strap separation bothers me much less than in my 70H - Ewa Michalak » S Turkusowe Kwiaty (703) . The gore is lower and very comfortable (with the Kwiaty S style, the gore tends to irritate slightly after a day of wear). Perhaps the wires are sliiightly narrow, almost poking my breast ...tissue. No discomfort however.
Quality is great - soft cotton lining, sturdy straps, nice firm band. Appearance wise this is probably a love / hate kind of bra - I happen to love it! Awesome leopard print that continues all the way into the band, the black lace part is lined with beige and there's beautiful red ribbon adornments.
Also the matching thong is adorable. I got 2 in size 40, which is fine on my generous hip / butt area.
All in all, probably my new favorite bra! Read more 87 more words
I've had this bra for almost 2 years, only got around to reviewing it now! Trying to follow alidieux' example to be a better contributor here and actually ADD to the database (:
This SF in 70GG has a bit of the Goldilocks complex for me - where I might prefer an inbetween size as it seems borderline too tall / large? There's some wrinkling in the bottom cups, which I'm not sure is due to lack of projection / orange-in-a-glass or too-largeness. On my smaller side there's some excess fabric in the upper cup. Larger side does seem to fit properly. The 70G might have been sliiightly small, like my BM, but as I generally prefer that in bras; perhaps I should have sized down after all (like Ewa does advise in it's description).
While the stretch lace is forgiving and the general fit seems acceptable, the cups come up pretty high and the gore does poke my sternum (for the record, I am sensitive to higher gores, would not be an issue for everyone). Also, as I've generally come to expect in (EM and most other) bras, the straps are too wide-set for me - after a day of wear they do irritate my armpit area.
I do very much like the design; I adore this particular color scheme of animal-meets-aqua/green/blue. The general appearance and sturdy construction of Zenith makes me wish it fit me better / more comfortably! The matching briefs do fit my 110cm / 43 inch hips/butt in a size M/40, but I could also have worn a 42/L.
As I don't reach for this bra regularly (think I've worn it about 6 times in 2 years?) I'm still contemplating whether to keep or sell this set... Or to try and increase wearability & comfort by bending the gore outwards with pliers, as I've successfully done on other bras (like my 70H Ewa S Kwiaty) - and possibly move the straps inwards as well. Decisions, decisions (; Read more 349 more words
I saw this bra on the bra swap and I have been wanting to try a BM so I took a chance knowing this probably wasn’t going to fit me. But it is so pretty! And way too big lol. I’m definitely not a 70 band. The band felt stretchy to me but the person that I bought it from said it felt firm and tight and that was the reason she tried on and sold. So I would trust her opinion over mine! The lace is stretchy and soft and so beautiful!
Wow, I love this bra! Even though my experience with Ewa Michalak bras was fairly limited up to this point (having only tried PL and S styles), I decided to take a chance on this brand new style, and I'm so glad I did! This is one of the best fitting bras I've had in a long time.
First, the construction: The cups are a stiffer, non-stretch material on the bottom, with 2 vertical seams. One seam is pretty much in the center of the cup, and the other is a little bit closer to the gore. The top part of the cup is a stretch mesh, with ...no seam or embellishment at the very top of the cup, so it lays nice and flat - perfect for my tall roots and FoT shape. I can wear a 30 or a 32 UK band, depending on the stretch and I feel this band is perfect for me on the loosest hook. There are 4 sets of hooks, so combined with the fairly firm band, I should get a long time of wear from this bra. The straps are fully adjustable.
Onto the fit: Almost perfect! The gore is a soft tack, but the support is great. The cups are deep enough by the gore to accommodate my center fullness. And, as I mentioned before, the top of the cup lays nice and flat. I wore this to an outdoor art festival in the heat, and it was comfortable and kept my boobs from being a sweaty mess. The pictures I posted are after wearing the bra for 14 hours, and I didn't have to make any major adjustments all day. Any redness around the straps is not due to strap irritation, it's actually sunburn from apparently not applying sunblock well enough by my bikini straps (oops!).
Long story short, this bra is a wonderful feat of bra engineering! I will definitely be getting it in black, and I hope EM makes it in other colors/patterns! Read more 228 more words
Ugh now I really want one. Why must I be so broke? I know myself too. I'll exhaust my pretty options before I consider practical ones like this.
center fullness, from EM? haha! Its less coverage than I expected - are you very FOT?
I'm so excited, mine should be here soon.
Fits you so well! Love seeing this new style....great review!
dbmamaz - I'm fairly full on top, but my bigger problem in most bras is that I have tall roots. As far as center fullness goes, between being close set and having more center fullness, I don't often get a firm tack, but this soft tack is pretty darn good for me!
roxannelovesbras - Thank you! I couldn't stop looking down at my boobs all day! :)
I guess most women with tall roots are not so FOT. Its interesting to see the variations, to me at least. I'm glad this bra works so well for you
I do that too with a well fitting bra! Love it! ❤️
dbmamaz - I'm not extremely FoT, but lean more that way. I think my tall roots cause my boobs to act even more FoT than I am. My roots start about an inch below my collarbone. So when I said I was fairly FoT, I probably should have said I'm slightly FoT. I definitely have more fullness above my nipples than below when I bend at a 90 degree angle. I'm still new to a lot of this terminology!
I hope your new SF makes you happy. I find the uplift from the bottom to be phenomenal!
I’ve tried this bra before when I was a 34HH/J, but it wasn’t a good fit. This looks great from first glance, but does have a few questionable fit issues that are minor.
First thing’s first, though- the bra itself: Bibi Black is a black lace overlayed on top of a beige material to give it that “see-through effect.” It is typical for an Ewa Michalak BM bra. Narrow wires, medium gore height, wide set straps. The sides are a little lower than some of the other EM BM style bras, and I’ll talk about that later. The overall feel of the bra is great, the material is fantastic ...quality. The band is snug, but that is “typical” of black bras in general, so I hear. It’s definitely comfy, even though the band is on that snugger side.
The overall fit on me is interesting. The gore slightly floats, but I’m not sure if it’s because the band is really snug and it’s pulling the wires up and out, or if it’s a touch too shallow. I did a fitting help post about this bra, and one user said it looked like a “bullet bra.” I personally do not feel like it is a bullet bra because it looks round from *my* view. The left side (my big side) peeks out of the lace in the middle very slightly. The sides are super low, and it’s giving the effect like my scoop and swoop is too intense or forced - I promise that all of the breast tissue is in the bra and not forced in. I do have a little extra skin from weight loss that gives that appearance, and with the wings/sides being lower, it exasperates the problem.
Overall, the non-tacking gore and low sides are minor issues to me, so I’ve decided to keep this bra. I’m still in the process of losing weight and weaning, so I imagine I’ll eventually get to a spot where this bra will fit better. Anyway, I love the bra and definitely recommend it if you are an Ewa Michalak fan, a fan of Polish bras in general, and/or are looking for something narrowly wired and pretty. Sooooooo.... this bra is beautiful, that can't be denied. The navy lace on red is such a great colour combo.
Unfortunately, for me this bra shows perfectly why I dislike and don't wear padded bras (even if it's a touch too big). BTW All the photo are with (both) cookies in except those where I say there's no cookies.
See when you have tissue as soft as I do, it tends to do the yoghurt thing. It just flops into cups and settles in there and that's really it. So being slightly FoB (even with my freakishly tall roots) it shows perfectly here I can barely fill out the top of ...the cup. Add to it I probably could have done with a 70G when it comes to this bra because the cups are most definitely too big, and it's a disaster all over.
I don't know if Pl is one of those cuts you need to size up in? I did size up to 70GG and I think that I could have easily done with my calculator size 70G.
I don't think I can say much about the Pl cut that others have not said. I will say that the cookie pockets are brilliant, but the whole 'construction' feels incredibly *bulky*. The band on this is extremely loose, more like a loose 75 than a 70, honestly! I absolutely hate the shape this bra gives, lol. It looks SO unnatural to me. I wasn't feeling the support. Maybe due to size, or maybe cause I'm just not used to that kind of support where the bra does all the work for you. Most padded I ever wore was spacer foam.
But I will say the experiment was successful. Now I know not to purchase Pl, Chp or any of those cuts. I do wonder if the S is a lot different. In photos it doesn't seem to be and it looks like I would not have a good time with it either. So I guess my absolute hatred towards padded bras continues to be completely justified.
With the bra I also got the thong. At size 38 it's very stretchy and fits perfectly (I normally buy like size 42 and even 44 in panties I wanna be reeeeally comfortable in). So that's a surprise.
Overall, IDK what to do with this bra. I don't necessarily want to sell it because it would be a pain shipping it, lol. I might just keep it in case I experience yet another growth spur but fingers crossed that doesn't happen. Read more 308 more words
Those colours are truly gorgeous! I'm sorry the PL didn't work out for you.
The PL style is one you should typically size up on, just like the S style. Personally I don’t get any better of a shape with the PL than I do the S, both are just bulky like you said. The CHP you can usually size down on (size dependent of course) as they have more open cups to give more of a rounded look. Yet the wires tend to be wider, and the wing taller, so I get wire poke under the arms. The S style will feel more secure than the PL-less risk of flop out haha, but if you don’t like the PL you most likely won’t be fond of the S style either.
If you pull the band tighter for more support, does it help with the cup fit? I assume after a swoop n scoop, your soft tissue escapes back towards the sides due to the band not holding the cups or wires secure? Maybe a Rixie clip could help? When the band is supportive, the cups should fit better. This of course won’t help with the bulky feel, haha, but at least it may make more comfortable and wearable. Also, with you being more FOB, you might find you get a better fit without the cookies, since they take up that needed lower cup space.
I feel you with this one, as I love the idea and look of the padded bras, but can’t stand “feeling” the bra all day, nor my arms bumping the breasts due to the East West effect I get in them. This one is a gorgeous color scheme and it does look great on you regardless of the fit issues!
I have heard that FOB dont need to size up like others do. Sorry tho!
I normally wear my SF size in the PL, probably because of the tall and shallow thing. I do think you fill out the middle of the bra a lot better than I would. It feels like this bra shape was really designed for round, semi soft breasts so they could be molded into balls and give that VS cleavage look. If you put two cookies on one side, what happens?
The top of the S cup is more straight across than \ / leaning, but that bra is tall and shallow on the bottom. Not all size ranges experience this but that is the most common complaint that I’ve seen.
Awe, too bad it didn't work for you. It definitely is gorgeous! I generally wear 30F in padded bras (except I wear larger in a couple brands), and I have both a 65F and 65FF in the Pl. The 65F bubbles and cuts in without cookies in, and the 65FF fits without cookies, but my smaller side has a teensy bit of gaping. I get a similar shape as you in the Pl, and it's not my favorite. I actually never reach for my Pls because of the shape they give me (plus the straps are SO short on my 65F - Ewa Michalak » Pl Dark Magenta (1048) . The shape of the magenta improved a little bit after the bra had been worn and ashed a couple times, but it still gives me a pointy shape. I wear my bras without the cookies because I find them really bulky with the pads too. From looking at pictures of the S, it looks like it fits similarly to a PL, but with a shallower bottom and a higher apex. I've never tried them myself, but I don't plan on it either. The CHP was too open for me and I couldn't get the right fit (tried larger and smaller sizes), and the Pl and M are pointy on me. I've pretty much given up on padded EM bras. I wanted the CHP to fit me SO badly, but alas the fit was just mediocre.
I think this looks like a really good fit in the pics. Sorry it didn't work out.
Thank you all for your comments
Sonya I just can't get over that shape, it is extreme!
dbmamazrachaelll I expected this to not be that good so it wasn't that much of a disappointment.
MamaPaganSovavosiWilderness1 I in general have issues with cut and sew padded bras cause they are a little 'too structured' for me, which is why I'm always wary of padded bras. All padded bras I ever wore were molded/spacer foam bras for this reason exactly. So unsurprisingly that is the exact issue I have with this bra (and curiously, the Sf cut as well). Too much structure makes my boobs just take whatever shape the bra is rather than working with it to make a nice shape. I don't know if that would even be possible with this bra really... even without the pads it just has soooo much bulk in the front, I genuinely could not tell if I'm filling out the cup completely or not tbh. I do think the loose band plays a part in the fit of this bra MamaPagan. I did try to Rixie clip it, no luck. The cups take an even more east-west shape. @Sovavosi, putting both cookies in makes my smaller side fill out the cup nicely, but the shape doesn't change much. On my larger side I quad significantly. My guess is this is what I would get ordering a 70G.
I think I will not be trying any more of padded EM bras (which is really good news cause instead of spending I get to save money, so overall it's a win).
Overall I'm not too disappointed because earlier padded bra experience has already me prepared for this, and luckily I didn't order this bra direct or at full price so I'd say it's not that much of a loss.
But at least you know what does & doesn't work for you instead of wondering "what if......" so, as you stated, it's a win in knowledge and experience. :-)
That is very true. Now I know.
For Bra Science!! :-) (quasi-copyright by @Calluna) ;-) :-D
Pretty! If you do decide to sell, let me know :) I have a 70G Pl that I love but is starting to feel small (despite the fact that I'm losing weight, for some reason :/).
Sheena honestly, the more I look at the photos the less I want to hold onto this bra!
I actually think it looks great on you! If not for your review I wouldn't know there were any fit issues. But completely understandable if you're not comfortable in it.
I also think that this looks great on you, but it might be a change in your comfort zone. I have been there many times before. Have you read my latest review? :-)
There’s so much that I like about this bra, but I’m still on the fence about the fit.
I’ve tried the Ewa Michalak S cut before, but it gave me almost too much uplift, and I think I sized up too much. This CHP cut is different, in a good way, but I think I could’ve even gone down 1 more size? It seems slightly too projected.
This is a 2 vertical seams, half cup, padded bra. It has a TON of immediate projection and is very open on top (because it’s a half cup). It comes with cookies that pad the bottom and give a good lift. ...Without the pads, it’s too open on top for me. With the pads, I get a very full, round, “Marie Antoinette” look. Honestly, I was going for a look like that with this, so I’m happy with that. The band fit firmly, and I believe the straps are half adjustable.
Going back to the projection and openness, I’m wondering if I could’ve sized down 1 more cup size to get a little more compression. It seems like there’s space where my nipples are housed inside the bra. The cup height is pretty good, I don’t notice as much gaping at the strap as I normally do with other bras.
Overall, I think I’m going to keep this one for now. The size problems are minor thanks to the cookies. Plus, I think exchanging it will be too much of a hassle since this came directly from the Ewa Michalak website. (Side note: shipping was SO FAST from the website, I think I literally ordered this bra on a Monday or Tuesday and it arrived by Thursday.) Read more 176 more words
This is at least the 3rd time trying the BM Antonina, but my 1st time reviewing it.
I have a 70GG - Ewa Michalak » Bm Bibi Black (1000) that fits almost identical to this 70GG Antonina. I own so many black/dark colored bras that I wanted something light colored. After an accidental order issue with a special order bra not actually getting ordered by a shop, I had the option to pick an item in stock, and so here we are.
The BM Antonina is a soft cup Ewa Michalak bra made with lace and an inner sling (I guess you’d say it’s mesh) that ...give the “nude” under the lace look. Like I said, it wears almost identical to my Bibi Black. It does have a peak at the apex which I guess causes a “torpedo shape”…honestly, I don’t see it, I didn’t see it in the Bibi either but someone mentioned on that bra that it looks that way. From my view it lifts and rounds the shape giving a more natural looking appearance under shirts. The band is snug, but that’s typical of Ewa bras. I will say, in comparison to the Bibi Black, it’s not quite as snug.
My one issue with the BM bras is they’re slightly too flimsy for someone like me with very soft breast tissue. I notice that the BM style does not contain as well as something with a firmer fabric or elastic along the cups. I may have to try a SF style Ewa Michalak next, as those are advertised as being suggested for containing soft tissue. Read more 162 more words
My love affair with Ewa Michalak bras continues! So I got this one on clearance from Zathiya, right before she closed. (sob) It's not my normal bra size (I usually wear a 70G) but it is close enough that I could justify buying it. (Plus, it was half the price of what I would usually pay, so score!) The straps are, as always, too wide for my narrow shoulders. Even after doing the strap re-placement surgery, the fabric still digs into my right side armpit. I know it's because of the larger cup size, but it's not annoying enough for me to give up on it. Plus, the bra is ...really pretty! The lace is a deep royal blue, with the stretchier black lace on the top part of the cups. The gore has a little peekaboo window, that I, surprisingly love. (It's not an open part, but has black mesh lace covering the keyhole part. Hopefully I am making sense, hahah! You can see it in the stock pictures.) I am really liking the SF styles so far. I feel like they give me a little more oomph than the BMs, but it might just be in my head.
It is a gorgeous bra for sure! This model was actually my first Ewa bra (ordered in a 70JJ from Zathiya as well) and I too loved the look and that gore. The lace on top is not as sturdy as the other SFs since it's not lined though, so when the fit of the cup is a bit small you run the risk of ripping the lace. I tried to reorder it directly from Ewa in 60L but was denied.....so sad......
The SF does give a better shape and a bit more support than the BM but the strap placement (& curve of the cup at the armpit) are definitely not ideal.
Maybe it's better that I ordered a cup bigger than usual! I was surprised that it didn't gape at the top at all; I figured, worst case scenario, the bra doesn't fit me at all and I can re-sell it here or on ebay. So I was pleasantly surprised at how well this size fits me. I wonder why you were denied that size? That's so sad. :(
When I measured two different size SFs the only difference between them was a taller gore and taller cups. The cup depth didn't increase. I wonder if this is also the case for you.
I have a hard time measuring the cup depth! According to the measurements I have here, there is a difference, but it doesn't FEEL different at all. It's like you said; a taller gore and the cups are taller.
I wish we had more data to see if that's really the trend with this cut. :)
mandapandarawks I agree it was wise to size up for this one, it seemed a bit smaller than the other SFs I have in the sister size tovthis one. I was denied because Ewa won't do the SF in a 60L, the cap is 60KK. I was told that she might make an exception for a few select SFs, but definitely not the Royal Blue, (or the others I requested so far Haha.)
@Sovavosi I agree! We need more entries to judge the patterns better for sure. Not just between cup sizes but sister sizes as well.
This is a flat-out gorgeous bra - iridescent teal with a navy overlay and orchid bows.
The fit isn't great for me. The band is too firm; 70 is supposedly the equivalent of UK32 but this fits more like a firm 30 or even a stretchy 28. The cups are too big for me; my old S models in 70FF were noticeably too small so I went ahead and skipped up 2 cup sizes, but I guess Ewa Michalak cups have more difference between them than I expected!
I also think I may be going off the 'S' shape, it's not quite as comfy for me as the unlined models such as BM. You have to fit the shape perfectly, which I maybe don't anymore. They have a very even, round shape where I'm more pointed in the apex, maybe? It's a shame because they're cotton-lined, which is super-rare in a fitting bra, and they're great for T-shirts and stuff because they have their own structure.
I was pleasantly surprised that the color is more of a true hot pink than an orangey-coral (which I feared - orange looks bad on me, but hot pink looks good!)
The fit isn't all I'd hoped, though. The 70 band is very firm; I usually wear 30 bands in UK bras, and I found this a little tight. If you're closer to 32 in UK bras I would definitely go for a 75 for this particular model. The cups are too big for me; these fit like true 32GG cups, IMO. So overall I'd say this fits closer to 30H or even 28HH.
In case you're not familiar ...with the EM S shape, it has foam-lined cups which make it their closest thing to a T-shirt bra. They're not quite as deep & narrow as an unlined EM but still much deeper than any UK T-shirt bra you'll find. Most of the depth is in the apex & top making them great bras for FoT. They are seamed construction so they are not seamless under a T-shirt, but cuts like this (with no lace on the outside) look pretty darn invisible (unless you get a lot of top gapping like me in this one.)
This particular S is, of course, swimwear, but I can't comment on its swimmability since I haven't taken it into the water. Since it doesn't fit well, I think I'm going to either return or sell it. Read more 134 more words
I ordered this because my correct size, 65H, is special order and I thought the sister size, not special order, might work instead. I was pleasantly surprised that the straps were narrower set than my 65H SM. The band was a bit big, as expected, but the cups were also a bit big, which was odd. I liked the narrower wires than the 65H, but it seemed like there was a bit less immediate projection. My centre fullness had the same issues with the bottom of the cup that I have in the 65H, but this is worse.
Otherwise, quality, shape, and fit are all standard and lovely! I was expecting the lace to be scratchy, but it totally isn't.
This bra does not fit me well, it makes me so sad!
I usually wear 30GG (in Cleo), f-o-b, center-heavy and short-ish roots.
The 70 band is perfect, very soft and is true to size. The wires are long and poke my underarms. The wings are 11 cm high! The wires are narrow and soft. The feel as narrow as my 30GG - Cleo » Hettie Balconnet Bra (9011) . The cups are made of soft and strechy fabric, which seems to be high quality. I feel like the cups might fit better for tall roots or full-on-top breast. The bottom of the cups were perfect for me, but the top of the cups were too big and too high. I don't think that going a cup size smaller will resolve this problem. The gore almost tacks, but is does not tack as firmly as I like.
I suspect the cup was too large for you. I have short roots and it's so hard to determine when something's too big vs. too tall! But most people don't go up a cup size in Ewa's unpadded bras, especially BM. Remember 70GG is a cup size bigger than 30 (65) GG, 70G would be the same cup size :)
I also tried a SF 70G that was too small in the cup and a 65GG SM that was too small both in the band and the cup... That is why I tought a 70GG would fit me!
I had a similar experience in SF Wanilla. Sigh. Ewa's wires are simply too narrow for me and too wide at the base of the gore. So, one size is terribly small because of the wire width and the next size too big because of depth. Sigh.
Why did you end up selling this? Im just curious. It looks good from the pictures. :)
I sold it because by the time I got it, I was pregnant, lol! It took almost 2 months, and it fit like a glove, but at just 5 weeks pregnant (with my 3rd) my breasts were already tender and growing so I knew it would not fit me long. And then once the baby is born I will be nursing for 2 years or so, thus the bra wouldn't work for me then either :(
This bra is way, way too small on me, but I think it's absolutely beautiful and has a great shape, and I will definitely be trying to get one in my size, once I figure out what that is. Boobs are right out front (which I like), material is soft, straps have a large level of possible adjustment. I can't comment on how it would wear with time, but I will update this when I have had one that fits for a while.
I got this one secondhand from mandapandarawks off Bratabase (r/BraSwap).
I love this bra more than I thought I would, bows and all! (This is my first EM BM bra that has bow attachments and I’m not normally into that kind of thing, but boy are they CUTE.)
It fits nicely, although I’m slightly more full/heavier right now, so they slightly quad in the center. I’m hoping with time that it’ll fit better now that I’m trying to get back on track with my activity level.
Even being secondhand, the band is comfortable and not too tight or too loose. The straps adjust just like all the other EM bras I have and they’re not too wide for me.
My experience with the fit: I like the look of balconettes but am accustomed to only being able to wear plunges, so I got excited when I tried this one on in a local shop and found that the gore was narrow enough to be comfortable. Unfortunately I think the cups are too narrow for me. When I first put it on, it wasn’t immediately uncomfortable, but it felt like it was forcing my breasts forward more than most bras I’ve worn. After I’d had it on for awhile, it started sliding down in the front and digging into my ribs enough to be painful, so definitely not right.
Upon ...close inspection it seems like it might be a bit small in overall cup volume in addition to the band feeling quite tight, so if I had the opportunity, I would be curious to try this same cut in a few other sizes (70H, 75G, 75GG) and see if any are more comfortable. However, the store I bought from doesn’t normally stock this this style (I was told the one I bought was a cancelled special order), and I’m not confident enough that it would work in any size that I think ordering online would be worth it.
Other observations: -The band is fairly stretchy, but still fits very tight. My measurements are on the larger side of a 32 band, so that size frequently feels tight until it’s broken in, but this one still felt tight with an extra hook or two on a band extender. -The fabric is very soft and comfortable. I found the tag on the inside to be a bit rough though, and probably would have removed it if I had decided to keep this bra. -The straps are set quite far apart. I consider my shoulders to be of relatively average width, and the spacing would have been ok but not ideal for me if I could comfortably wear it without a band extender. With a band extender, the straps were sliding off my shoulders. -The wires are shorter on the sides than a lot of other bras I’ve tried. This may have some effect on the fit for some folks, but I didn’t personally notice that it was better or worse for me, just different. Read more 267 more words
that's great to hear about the quality as I am pretty new to EM, so I'm not sure how long they will all last!
