I suspect that the bras are not consistent in size. When you first get into a good bra size, you have to scoop and swoop the breast tissue from your back, sides, and under the underwire to get it into the cup. Over time, it migrates back to where it belongs -- up front. I bought this same model in a 90JJ. The band was a little looser than I'd prefer, and the cups gaped a tiny bit at the top, but with padded bras that is somewhat unavoidable. Over time the breast tissue migrated, and it became my best fitting bra, but the cups still gape a little.

I recently remeasured, using the Boobs or Bust method (as before), and came out a 90K for this bra. I was dubious, but ordered it. It fits better than my 90JJ. The band doesn't feel loose, and the cups aren't gaping. But, I can fit my index finger behind the center gore. To me, all these details suggest inconsistent sizing.
