This is my third try with Fantasie's Vertical Seam cut. I decided to size up one cup size in the Angelina Vertical Seam Bra, as I recently received the Erica Vertical Seam Bra in my normal size of 30DD and found it to be a bit shallow, so I was curious to see how the next size would fit. However, this turned out to be a mistake, because the proportions of the cup ended up too tall on me. While this bra is lovely, I would say that you should stick with your normal size in the Fantasie Vertical Seam styles, and if they are ... too shallow for you, then the cut is just not suitable for your shape.
I already have the Angelina Side Support in Cafe au Lait, so this time I picked up the color Platinum. Unlike the Side Support, where the bottom and sides of the cup are mesh reinforced with tricot for stability, the Vertical Seam is just single layer mesh with one full vertical seam at the center of the cup for a 2HC construction. This style also has a mesh inner sling for a bit of side support, though this style is definitely less supportive than the Side Support styles. Because I sized up, the entire cup was just about a half size too big all around--wires, cup height, and depth all made the bra look disproportionate on my body.
The band is pretty standard Fantasie, as it is made from plain, firm powermesh. There is a bit of embroidery detail at the hooks, which is nice. The entire front of the bra, including the cradle, is covered with rich, gorgeous two-tone embroidery in a fan-like motif of poppies. Platinum is actually a black base with black, cream, and grey embroidery. The quality of the embroidery is much softer than Sienna, but isn't the softest I've encountered. Straps are wide picot edged elastic with topped on embroidered fabric at the front. The center gore features a twisted two-tone bow and a teardrop crystal. This is a very lovely bra and seems to be worth the high price tag, as long the fit suits you.
I think this cut would be best for even, rounded shapes that are not particularly full or heavy. Very projected or conical shapes may not find the 2HC Vertical Seam construction suitable, and very full breasts will probably not find it supportive enough. The Vertical Seam cut gives a more natural, less lifted/projected shape than the Side Support styles.

It would be super helpful if, when you have the time, you could measure your bras and add that data to the database. A lot of us really benefit from the data, not just for researching bras within our own range, but also for finding trends within models, styles, and across the sizes. If you could add those measurements, we would be super grateful! Thank you!! :-)
