I did not have high hopes for this bra, I have had very bad luck with UK brands recently and Fantasie is the only brand I ever had a shape issue with before reaching my current size. But! It was only about $20, so I had to try it anyway.
This is the weirdest fitting bra I have ever had. It is SO shallow. The cups are very wide and not projected at all. It gaped and wrinkled all around but was actually smooshing my boob straight back into my rib cage. The wire did not sit in the right place at all and the center gore gaped terribly. Somehow, the outside of the bottom of the cup was so badly not supporting my boob that it was folded over as if i had just placed a napkin in my IMF. The top of the cup also had a weird thing happening with the fabric, it seemed like my boob was pulling the lining down but not the outer fabric, so it was bunching up oddly.
Salsa 30JJ I am adding this bra for data/informational purposes only. This Bra is not owned by me at the time of addition to the database.
Salsa is an unpadded underwire balcony bra. It comes in several colors, but I have it in White. The pattern is sheer with a flower vine embroidery. There are 3 parts to the cup, 2 vertical and 1 horizontal. Due to the sheerness, nipples will show through.
The band measures 25.5” to a max of 33” with 3 hooks and 3 rows of eyes.
Cup Depth as measured by: 1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance. ... This measurement is: 14”
2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance. This measurement is: 15.5”
I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.
The cups don’t appear to have stretch to them, but there is some give. The curve on the side of the cup was too high, and the side wire digs into the armpit. I couldn’t wear for more than a few hours before it becomes too painful….. Cups otherwise fit, but do flatten the breasts, pushing them to the side instead of keeping them out front like they belong.
This bra is what I’d clearly call a factory second, though it was not marked or labeled as such. The quality is poor and the sewing off. It isn’t noticeable at first glance, but noticeable on. The center gore isn’t sewn correctly insuring that one wire pushes off consistently, and the curve of how the straps connect to the band is off, resulting in bunching on the top of the band just beyond the cups in the back as well as near the hooks/eyes. It’s like the top of the band is wider than the bottom of the band.
Fantasie used to be my go to brand (had been for over a decade), but this one is not a selling point for what used to be a great and reliable brand. The tag said $60 but I paid under $20, and I think I now know why. Very disappointing.
