I’ve worn this bra a lot, although I’m not sure it really fits. It gives a nice, uplifted and projected shape that I found life changing when I first discovered it. I’ve nursed 3 kids and have gained and lost weight, so my breasts are soft. I’m still learning about breast shapes, but I’d say mine are pendulous with short but wide roots tending towards full on bottom. The main disadvantages of this bra (for me, in this size) are that the straps are so wide that they rest too far out on my shoulders. The straps always show when worn under sleeveless clothing. It sometimes shows in ...the underarm area as well. I am short (5’3”) so many tops are too low in the armholes on me- so this may not be a flaw of the bra. It also gives me a lot of back and armpit fat. This could just be because I’m carrying ~20 extra lbs for my frame...🙄😊🤔 Advantages of this bra for me: I can swing my arms front to back and the wires/sides of my boobs don’t hit my arms. It puts my boobs front and center. It creates projection. It lifts so that there is no chance of skin on skin contact under the breasts or of the covered breasts hanging down and touching my torso. It feels pretty comfortable. It is very smooth in front for wearing under knits. Invisible, really. Overall, a great bra for shirts with sleeves! Read more 136 more words
Pros: Spacer fabric is thin, comfortable, stretchy. Breathable: good for summer. Flexible, rounded cups: nice profile. Good projection/not shallow. Top quite closed: good for short roots. Underwire sits nicely in IMF. Straps are soft, but firm stretch. Even tension between band and elastic edges.
Con's: Spacer fabric will show prominent nipples. Not the best support: cups tend to collapse above the wire. Not much to look at. Boring. Definitely NOT 'sexy'! Gore is both too wide & too tall: sits on my breast tissue (not uncomfortable at the beginning, but painful by the end of the day). Straps adjust just barely long enough on low-set, but petite frame. Also only partially ...adjustable to shorten. Back fat! Little/no side support. Wings could be taller, but sides of cups rub slightly against Tail of Spence. This color of 'Nude' is a yellow base, warm tone: not neutral. (Would be fine for warm skin complexion.)
FYI: ordered 32F through Amazon, according to size chart: "32F US/32E UK". Tags shows 32E for both US & UK sizing. Edit: after many months, I find this one stays in the drawer most of the time. I find the gore is just too tall for me, and even though it's not putting excessive pressure on my sternum I still find it uncomfortable. Read more 99 more words
I am a Fantasie fangirl, and this bra is a good example why. Everything is perfect about this unlined beauty otherwise! Sophisticated baroque red & white damask print, delicate high-quality lace trim, superior quality construction with softness everywhere it touches skin especially the straps, nice firm band with just enough give so you don't feel it all day, lovely firm wires that can adjust a little in their channels, uplift & centering with a great natural profile under clothes, nicely deep at the bottom of the cups for immediate projection. The straps are fully adjustable, the band has two hooks and three sets for when/if it ever stretches ...out (Fantasies really wear, so it could be a while). Its kind of a hybrid between a balcony and a plunge, I think, because it has a low gore and swoops down, yet still provides balcony coverage. The bra feels and looks very sophisticated and feminine. I wish it fit, but since it is a Fantasie it is true to size, and since it is a balcony I can't get away with a cup size too small! Read more 78 more words
High quality, sturdy bra. Thin moldable memory foam lining. Greater depth to allow for projection than any previous bra I’ve tried. Gorgeous lace detail that is an overlay instead of acting as the band itself-phew! Very high center gore, almost too wide spaced, but doesn’t seem to cut into any tissue. The upper crease line along the top of the cup cuts in a tiny bit, but not too much as to create a quad boob effect. It seems to almost fully encase my breast tissue as a full coverage bra should!
I measured as 32E/F and tried the 32E in white. I have tall and wide roots, and full on bottom, close set.
I really wanted to keep this bra. It is really sturdy, fit very well compared to everything else I tried. The straps are not very widely set, and hence do not fall down. It filled well with FOB, and even took in most of the breast tissue migrated to my underarms.
The two issues I had with this bra was 1) the gore was really uncomfortable - even after scooping breast tissue that was going under the gore 2) some wrinkling on the side, and gaping on top when posture isn't correct.
I tried cleo Marcie princess balcony, curvy kate princess balconnette, freya francis plunge, cleo lucy - all of which had major gaping on top. Compared to that, fantasie alex was a really good fit if not for the gore. I guess FOB, tall and wide roots are hard to find a good fit bra for. The search continues! Any recommendations would be welcome!
Absolutely gorgeous bra! Lovely colour! I actually thought it was an Empriente because it was by a few of those and it’s got the aesthetics of Empriente. I love the sheer mesh upper portion and that the lace is relatively flat.
But 32E is not my size and the band is quite stretchy. I’m also getting cutting in from the elasticized cup edge which might be a size issue but I already had 4 Ewas to narrow it down from and I didn’t like this as much to try another size. I knew it wouldn’t fit but but store is structured that most of the sizes are in the back stock room so you can pick up a size from the front and they will check the back for sizes. This one is a sister size up so I didn’t bother her to get a 30F.
Anyway, glad to have tried it. It’s quite beautiful.
I picked this bra up at Nordstrom Rack... it only took 3 visits over the course of about a month before a bra that fit me showed up there. I tried on a number of Freya, Natori, Chantelle, Dkny, and Calvin Klein without success, and then this one-- band just right, gore tacking perfectly, cups filled on top with no gapping, and the wires sitting right in my IMF. Check the tag, and it's a Fantasie bra. Ha, I should have known.
I have had better luck with Fantasie than any other brand I've been able ...to try out. Their side support full cup bras seem to be the easiest to find, and so far all the versions I've tried on have been perfect for my breast shape. A little more coverage than I'd really like (won't be wearing this with any low-cut tops), and they give me a bit more of a natural, slightly pointy "green" shape rather than the more rounded "purple" shape I'd prefer, but eh, it's a bra that fits. I'll take it!
For reference, I am FOB (2/5), somewhat narrow-rooted, with moderate projection. I have some inner fullness but my breasts are widely spaced and slightly splayed. I struggle a lot with gapping and wrinkling in the top of cups but I've yet to have that issue in a Fantasie bra. Read more 130 more words
Your breast shape sounds a lot like mine. I am going to try to find a Jacueline in my size. Thanks for the detailed review. You got a thumbs up from me :)
I think this bra is a decent fit overall, but it can get uncomfortable over the course of the day due to the taller wires. I don't think it would be such an issue if I wasn't both so short and short-waisted. In my opinion this bra is much more utility than beauty, but it does its job well. I has a decent amount of depth and gives a very nice up and forward look.
This bra is great. It's super soft, very supportive and so pretty with the brown and light pink pinstripes. The straps are completely adjustable and the bra itself gives a nice natural shape. I'm generally a 30F, so the band is just too big for me.
This is another bra I purchased from a local boutique before I discovered Bratabase & r/ABTF. I was told to wear it on the tightest hook from day one. I'm ashamed to say I should have known better but I digress.
I’ve only worn it once, maybe twice to try it on. Even on the tightest hook, it doesn't seem supportive. The band rides up in the back after several minutes. The gore sits flush & there is adequate cup separation. There is no poking.
If I were desperate I'd look into having it altered. For now, I have many other options.
I will hand-wash & air dry, then return to measure it.
Do not buy the red colorway! I would recommend this in nude (see review of 30E). Not sure how the black or white fits, maybe someone will add them here on bratabase.
Terrible fit due to the odd construction. Fabric on lower cup are fused or glued together and a thick vertical seam makes things worse. I now has a pointy vertical ridge on the lower cup. It feels like the lack of flexibility make the cup size sligthly smaller than the label indicates. The breast are moulded to a three faceted shape and I also have a quadboob problem.
This is a great bra and you should keep trying on larger sizes until you reach the size that is too big for you. Go back to the next smaller size and assess it's fit from there.
For me the cups were too tall, and the overall fit was not in anyway flattering. The wider lace panels on the back strap pooched and looked gross. The gore tacked in hard and painfully, and I suspect the wires are too wide. This one was a big no.
Just got this bra in my correct size so I can't speak to longevity. It feels well made and is quite comfortable though! My breasts sit along the wire nicely and the cups seem to have good projection for me. I have slight wrinkling on the top edge on my smaller breast, tightening that strap helps some though. The gore is just a wee bit tall on me, but I also have a short torso. The band is nice and snug (I was wearing a 34 before), and doesn't slide around. I really like the fabric, it's soft and very smooth under tops. Also gives a nice rounded shape. Overall, I think it's a pretty good fit!
I have soft, wide set, FOB and slightly center full breasts with short roots. Also a short torso and a slight rib flare.
This is a high quality double layered, bra sized swimsuit. The material is patterned in a navy and black and textured to the touch in "wave like" patterns. I thought it was so beautiful, so I gave it a shot. Take a look at the internet pictures, as mine are dark and don't do it justice.
I bought this swimsuit last summer, but I've only worn it once, as I'm too tall in my torso and low set (I'm 5.11") and I had to adjust the straps too long for comfort in order to get the cups in the right place. The cups themselves are wired and there is ...padding. The bum has good coverage with no slipping. Something that I really appreciate about this swimsuit is that the inner cups are sewn into the swimsuit so that they don't flip. I've tried so many cup sized swimsuits that have wired cups inside that can flip upside down, which is really annoying when you're trying to put it on and take it off (especially when wet). I couldn't figure out how to measure the band, but it does up like a regular bra, and it has 3 rows with 2 hooks. You can wear this swimsuit with straps or as a strapless.
The cups were projected enough for me at the wire and at the apex, and the cups were a bit wide but didn't feel too wide when on (especially compared to other swimsuits). I would actually say that this swimsuit is not very shallow breasted friendly.
I'm sad it didn't work because it's such a great quality swimsuit. As usual for swimsuits, I ordered a sister size up so it wasn't so tight to get on, but a 32" band on my 28" rib cage was a little sketchy as a strapless as it kept slipping down. Read more 198 more words
Another lovely Fantasie bra I am bidding farewell to. Band is too tight, and straps too wideset, which means going up a band size will result in straps falling off my narrow, sloping shoulders immediately instead of in 5 minutes. Great for forward projection, full on bottom.
If you're ever interested, you can order something like the Comexim Padded Plunge with free alternations like "straps moved in 2cm" from Poland.
I think they will even do it a bit more, like 3 cm, but that's only what I've heard. I wear this bra as my "t-shirt bra" It really doesn't show through. https://www.bratabase.com/browse/comexim/basic-plunge-bra-170/
They have a basic padded 3-part half-cup as well, if you prefer that style.
