Don't be scared off by the underwire- it's comfortable, and supports a lot more. And it fits well- no boobs escaping here! (Yes, I actually did have my boobs escape a bra. It was a Freya Idol Moulded Balcony Bra (1050), and they kept slipping under the underwire. It was right below the nipple, and looked like a boob hat.)
The underwire fits perfectly, but there's a little bit too much fabric around the cups, which makes it look funny under thin shirts. Probably better for someone who's never been pregnant/nursing.
The Elodie is another near-miss for me. Although it's high-cut and feels somewhat mature (definitely not a sexy bra), the embroidery is very pretty and I like the cappucchino color since it's a little different from nude or ivory. No problems with the band, although I'm on the middle hooks now despite relatively infrequent wear. The cups are on the taller side and the wires are longer and wider... very close to wide enough for me. They do start to dig in after a few hours, though, and give me some underarm "fat" because they're not quite right. I suspect that this bra wouldn't work at all for ...people with narrower- or higher-set boobs, because the wire comes just under my underarm.
In the cups I feel well-supported, although I agree with others who say this bra gives a separated pointy shape without a ton of lift. I like that shape for more put-together occasions, though — I usually wear it for interviews, conferences, and such even though it hurts by the end of the day. The lace at the top isn't stretchy, so there's a hint of wrinkling on my smaller side, but other than that, the cups fill. People who are fuller on top than I am might get some quadboob.
My biggest problem with this bra is the gore, which is too high and wide for me. It digs in after a few hours, too, and ouch.
I don't wear this bra a whole lot, but I've had it for two years and kept it because the fit is pretty close, a little different, and sometimes useful. The cups and embroidery have held up beautifully to two years of infrequent wear and washing; the band has stretched out a little. Read more 182 more words
