This bra is beautiful! I love the sheer mesh combined with the embroidery and silver color, it's striking in person.
The fit is very good, right in line with what I've come to expect from Fantasie. I did think this felt a bit looser than usual in the band, and sure enough it measures more like a 36 band (37.5 stretched, 29 resting). Not really a deal breaker for me, although I'll probably wear it on the middle or tightest hooks. The shape is good as well; I wasn't sure what to expect from a single vertical seam, but it gives pretty good immediate projection and a nice ...shape somewhere between "perfectly round" and "natural teardrop." My only complaint, and it is pretty minor, is that the texture of the lace detailing definitely shows under thin shirts. It creates a bit of a tension issue between the mesh and the embroidered sections, it gives my breasts almost a quilted appearance under thin shirts.
This bra has some really nice details. There is really nice embroidery up the front strap edge- it almost makes me want to show my bra straps on purpose! The gore overlaps. There is a side sling. The gore has a small silver bow with a little gemstone. This bra makes me feel like a fancy lady- a little classy, a little sexy. I'm already a bit sad that the matching underwear are ridiculously overpriced, because this is meant to be seen and I'd love to have the set! Read more 145 more words
This is an extremely pretty bra for being a seamless cup and solid color. It makes wearing a day bra feel a little more glamorous. But it's not my favorite (for the several reasons listed below) and I basically use this under my woot tshirts, since the flatter profile and full coverage work a little better for showing off artwork.
This bra cup has extremely soft moulding, which I personally don't like. It puts a lot more weight on my straps, and then I have to wear the back tight enough to get red marks by the end of the day. It gives me a wider profile when viewed from the front, and the side profile is less lifted than I like. I also extremely self conscious about my ridiculous little thermometer nipples showing at work; they show through in this bra unless I'm wearing a thick sweater.
Could it be? A perfect bra?? I ordered this bra from Nordstrom because it was on sale, it's a sister brand of Freya so I figured it would fit well. It fits amazing on me and makes my boobs look great! It's a balcony cut, so it's higher up than I'm used to but it's not a problem at all. The embroidery on the Vivienne is absolutely gorgeous and doesn't show through in t-shirts.
I like the color and general construction of this one, but the fit doesn't seem to work for me.
My biggest problem is that the wires want to sit lower than my inframammary fold. It ends up digging into my ribs and being uncomfortable pretty quickly.
The cups both do and don't seem to fit. I feel like they are too wide but they aren't deep enough for me. I also get some wrinkling in the top of the cup. Probably a shape issue more than anything, but it may be worth trying a cup size smaller.
Unfortunately, the straps are also too wide spaced tor me so they don't want to sit on my shoulders correctly. The sides of the cups also dig into my underarm (common problem for me).
Ultimately, this one looks ok but isn't a good match for me. I *might* try a different size, but I don't know if that would help.
Pretty color and lace but a total shape mismatch . Once again I ignored my instincts and allowed the bra fitter to convince me this one fit. She tightened up the straps so much my shoulders may never recover and told me said how great it looked. On me everything about it is wrong including very wide set straps, gaping at the top and minimal to no support. Fantasie bras are cute but their sizing/styles are always iffy for me.
It looks better in promo shots than on me at this size, but it's a great anytime bra. Received one well-loved from another member and purchased one new so I feel comfortable saying the band size is consistent, true to size and doesn't stretch out much with wear. I really need a 32 - but I am finding that to be the case of late. I prefer a tighter band, and am becoming more aware of irritation from miniscule movement of many of my 34's. Cup size seems pretty accurate. I could use a half-cup larger on one side, but moving to a GG would result in unacceptable gaping on ...the smaller side. Cups are a bit wide for me - another reason I don't think moving to a 32GG or H would help. Support is excellent, particularly for such a skinny band. Lift is subtle but good. Straps aren't quite as wide-set as many balcony styles, so they're less likely to show w/sleeveless tops and wouldn't slide off as readily on narrower-shouldered ladies. Gore is quite low, which is also very versatile. The sides/wings are also quite low, so suitable for me & my under tall friends. It is wear-all-day & sleep-in comfy. Looks are very plain. It shines brightest when covered up. Cups are firmly molded, which is a love or hate feature. I love it for smoothness under clothing & disguising size differences. Bottom line: great basic if it fits you. Read more 127 more words
I actually went to a lingerie store in a nearby city that carried extended cups, only up to a G in most cases, because I've been having so many problems finding a molded t-shirt bra. This was the best of the lot, so I got it, but now I find that this bra is too shallow in the bottom of the cup. The apex of the cups is also wider than my natural shape. The volume of the cup seems about right under, but since I am not filling it out in the right places, it won't work under my tightest shirts. It does give a very nice lifted shape under the right shirts.
Wires too narrow and bendy. Molded cups are silly shaped. Apex is way too high and empty. Folding underneath because my boobs want to be in the apex. Band 2-hook and not really supportive Volume - mostly okay. Straps are too wideset. Somehow, I still quadboob slightly when I'm sc/swooped properly.
This is too big, and also I just don't love it. I have the problem I usually have which is I'm getting poked in the armpit from underwire, and the core comes up hire in the center that I like. I have a feeling if the bra actually fit and supported by breasts the gore would be pushing into the flesh. I'm gaping the most at the top, which often happens with fuller coverage bras so I'm not surprised. I don't think I'll give this a try in a size down.
Since I went a cup size down compared to other's I was trying recently I did not expect it to me so hysterically large. It was especially roomy at the widest part of the cups, The slightly cone shape of the cups did not fit my cup shape. It was also too big under, and too big on top. Center gore height felt good but was not flush against my sternum. The underwire didn't bother me on the side but the side of the cup itself felt like it was cutting into me, especially when leaning forward.
This is a very pretty bra. Love the lace. The band has nice stretch. The cups are seamed in a way that provides good upward lift, and there is decent projection. The bottom edge of the band is a soft, smooth fabric that feels nice on the skin.
I’ve had this bra awhile but couldn’t remember why I never wear it. I just tried it on and remember... it doesn’t fit. 😬 If you have a wider breast root and a little less projection than I do, or if you’re definitely fuller on the bottom, then this is probably a great bra. I am more narrow and slightly ...FoB to even, so for me, it’s a shape mismatch.
The cups are too far apart for me in the front so the top of the gore doesn’t tack. (I tried sliding the wire up, but it slid back down.) The cups are way too wide, which results in the wire being too far back on the side for me (and it rubs awfully if I bend forward). I also have breast tissue trying to escape at the top of the bra, especially on my larger side, because the cup is too wide/shallow.
If you have the right shape for this bra, definitely give it a try. Skip it if you have narrow roots, more fullness on top, or greater than average projection. Read more 123 more words
This used to me my best fitting bra but I believe it's now too small. I find it rather plain looking (striped beige fabric) but it's decently soft and not scratchy. The underwire doesn't poke me under the arm and stays put in my IMF throughout the day. The gore significantly twists towards my left (bigger breast). I don't get quad boob but the cups look tight and my nipples end up above the horizontal seam when I scoop and scoop.
I only tried this at Nordstrom in Nov 2015. Awesome cleavage in this too small size, the 34GG would be worth a try on. The price tag at 84.00 is really steep though
This bra does the trick - gives a smooth appearance and a decent shape under a t-shirt. It's pretty comfortable too. The cups are a slightly too wide, which leads to occasional strap slippage. One of the wires has ripped through the fabric earlier than my other bras purchased around the same time.
I bought this bra already quite used, so I know that effects the measurements and my fit experience. I don't think this bra would work for me even if it was new. It's a classic shape mismatch for me (narrow, short root, center-ish full).
I would say that this runs wide-ish and shallow like many molded bras, so the gore floats a lot and my breasts are squished together a little in the middle. The top is a bit too closed and cuts in - slight quadboob. The parts of my breasts that are in the cup are pressed outwards so there is an east-west effect.
I normally ...wear a 32GG so I knew the band would be too big. The overall feel of the material is soft and I could see this possibly helping convert people from the famously soft VS bras.
I wore this for an entire day and found it minimally annoying despite the obvious fit issues. I will keep it but definitely glad I didn't pay full price and will continue my search for a well-fitting smooth beige bra. Read more 74 more words
I loved the shape of this bra when I was a 32G, but gained weight and had to go to the 34G. While it doesn't look bad under clothing, the shape is odd - the apex is about 1" to the outside of the nipples. It works great for my FOT breasts though and holds up the weight well. The fact that it is a smaller frame (works well for my very short waisted body) means I'll live with the odd shape.
Bought this in August; reviewing in December, after having gained 10-15 lbs The band is sometimes so tight that my back becomes so stiff as to impede movement in the region under and surrounding said band. And there is still wrinkling in the cups because I still am not quite filling them. The wires sometimes dig in on the outer sides, and sometimes there is space between my boobs and the inner edges of the cups. And lying down in this bra , but can hurt because then my boobs always want to flop outwards, but the outer edges of the cups just don't go far out enough for that. This was listed on eBay as a Susanna Side Support, which was either an indirect recommendation or listed on here as similar to a direct recommendation at the time. IIRC, the band was not as tight when I bought as it is now, but I was filling the cups even less now than I was then.
bras are not for lying down in. Lying down fit is not relevant.
However, if the band is that tight, its going to distort the shape of the cup, so you really have no idea how the cups fit.
Also, bratabase recommendations are not really very good. they are just a suggestion. there are likely many other bras which will fit you better.
However, you seem to have an ongoing issue with all of your bras hurting on your side? It coudl be a rib flare or even - i know this sounds crazy, but I had a chiropactor who said one of my ribs kept going out of joint. It would be more tender then.
one other thing - not all bras fit the same. Some have stretchier bands than others. Some have deeper cups and some have wider cups. You really need to be trying on more bras. try some on in person if you can find them in your size - some nicer stores have more sizes - not walmart or victoria secret. But try things on and see what fits and then look for that bra used.
dbmamaz some folks do sleep in their bras so maybe laying down is relevant for them? The last time I rolled over on my boob I thought I might need a sleep bra but I hate wearing anything at night let alone something constricting.
well, usually not the same bra you wear upright tho? i did sleep in bras for a little while, but I think I used older, worn-out ones
drakefish I think you need to be looking at 36 or 38 bands, considering your best fitting bra stretches to 39 in the band. So perhaps 36-38F to FF?
If you do tend to gain and lose a few pounds (I know I do), you can always buy an extender and use it for those tight bands. It will put the straps farther apart in the back though, if that is an issue for you.
Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Not ignoring it, I'm just saving everything I have to say for the fitting help post I've been meaning to make. Soon . . .
It seems to run larger than the Rebecca Spacer I previoulsy owned (bought two years ago, 32G/GG was too tight but okay in the cup), I would need 32G whereas I wear 34G in Freya Decos.
I lusted after this bra for weeks before finding one in my size on eBay; it's from last year so pickings were slim. I really love gray bras and bold lace patterns, so this is right up my alley.
I have several Fantasie Rebecca bras, and all of them are 34G and fit well. In most other brands I'm a 34GG. Since this is an unlined cup AND a Fantasie bra, I assumed a 34G was a safe bet, and I was right. The band is supportive but comfortable. The cups are made for roots a bit taller than mine, but I'm used to that. The lace has ...some stretch to it, but not as much as my Panache/Cleo bras with stretch lace. It has that tiny sliver of elastic along the edge of the cup (like Curvy Kate Ellace) that I imagine would cut in for FOT breasts. The wires are a little wider than my tissue but not uncomfortable.
I haven't tried a ton of bras, but what I've found is that Fantasie tends to be decent in comfort but give a natural/somewhat pointy shape, and this was no exception. It's certainly nowhere near as round as my Panache Envy or Ewa Michalaks.
The lace is really gorgeous! It's white over the satiny gray mesh on the bottom, then gray/white lace near the apex, then white lace at the edge of the cup. There is a small jewel at the gore.
The "side support" that is advertised heavily in the name was a little bit of a let down. I don't think it made a difference at all. It was just a carefully placed panel and seam that met up with the strap.
Overall, it's a decent bra that fits well. The shape isnt my favorite, but I'll still wear it. Read more 196 more words
I have this bra in the 'Butterscotch' colourway (a warm beige), but the silver is even lovelier - it looks very sophisticated!
