    Fits

My shape: FOB teardrop with lots of upper fullness and shallowness that makes me functionally even allover, loads of immediate projection but only moderate overall projection, mid-height, center-set, with a small conical ribcage and super wide roots (on me, anyway), and very firm tissue that fights back when pushed around by padding.

This review is for the Rouge colorway.

I found this listed on reddit as a NWOT steal, and while I really wanted the biscuit colorway, I jumped on it. It's beautiful! I'm so glad I did, because it's a great fit on par with my 30F - Fauve » Pearl Padded Half Cup Bra (0221) ... and my 30F - Fauve » Marla Padded Half Cup Bra (0291) , but less open at the neckline.

This bra is kind of shallow in the bottom of the cups, but Fauve Magic means it doesn't matter on me, and I get a gorgeous rounded shape out of it instead. It is a little more minimized than I might want, but overall it's so comfy I don't care. I think it's also a little shallow right around the gore, but aside from a tiny bit of quadding when I stick my chest out, it's otherwise not noticeable.

The wires are lovely and feel like the perfect width on me. After checking with my fingers and wriggling around, they might be slightly wider than my Fauve Pearl, so the side fullness is a little more spread out in the side of the cup.

The straps are embellished! I love that sort of thing. They are wide and comfy and adjust plenty long for me.

I started out on the tightest hook, so the hooks are going to have to move. I'm pleased that it's so tight, because as I move into usually-28 territory, all my Fauves are starting to be too loose even on the tightest set. The top edge along the wings also rests flush against my underarm, which means that either the elastic is tight enough or the band is conically-cut enough for my silly ribcage.

Now I definitely need the other 3 colorways, if I can find them. Hooray!

    • That is stunning on you!

    • This looks terrific! Unfortunately Fauve half-cups just make my boobs look sad, but they seem to suit you really well. :)

    Didn't fit

I was worried because the Evangline has a rather shallow cup measurement for Fauve padded half-cups and I got some quad-boob when I was taking pictures, but when I tried the bra again 2 weeks later, it fit well. I think it depends on my time of the month. This is a lovely go-to for the first two weeks of my cycle, after which I can switch to the deeper/more open on top Pearl, or my Comexim Basic.

Having tried several Fauve Padded Half-cups in 30F, here is how well they fit me, from best to worst. Better fits are deeper and/or more open on top.

    Didn't fit

To this date, Evangeline Padded Half Cup from Fauve is my favorite bra.

I find it both elegant and quite sexy (I have it in gold/black) and it gives my boobs the perfect rounded shape from the side which I value a lot. The straps are soft, elastic and comfortable and doesn't dig in to my shoulders.

I love this bra so much that I actually ordered another one in the same model just a couple of days ago, but in red. It was indeed expensive, but this is top quality and totally worth it.

    Hasn't set fit

Astounded to find a padded half-cup working on me, but it does, amazingly well, though the shape it creates is definitely closer to the body than I expect to see. Tons and tons of lift, authoritarian construction and a VERY firm band appear to be the key. It has more depth in the bottom than most padded halfcups and thus accommodates my projection, but without actually giving a projected look. I have a lot of fullness on top and a tall root, with a slight slope above up to collarbone as well as the flagrant FoT, so I'm beyond delighted to find a workable half-cup. It gives a ... ... well, a less projectile than I expect yet absolutely perfect cakes-on-a-plate shape. It does not budge over 18 hours' wear, literally not an iota of downward wire crawl, wire mark perfectly placed right up in the inframammary fold, hallelujah. It's so comfortable there is literally zero to notice about it being on -- even late that night -- other than how awesome-looking one is and how little one's back hurts.

The same size as in my far duller, utility Fantasie side support bra, Susanna, worked perfectly here. The wire width seems very similar i.e. medium or maybe a tidge on the narrow side, and comes up plenty high enough at the sides -- very nice wire shape to find in a half-cup. (I did not have any gore issues. I'm wide-set as hell and the gore's a bit narrow for me, but I'm also splayed and firm so central support is wasted on me anyhow, it's all about uplift and push-in.)

(Note: Bratabase won't let me enter that it fits me without doing the whole measurement rigmarole. It absolutely does fit. I'll fix this eventually.)

If you are in my size range, which is at or near the top of Fauve's cup limit, and you're browsing for a padded halfcup because you're wide and shallow and have been told that that cut's a good bet, and you're just wondering hmm, what about Fauve, then I suggest another choice may suit you better. (I've just reviewed the Dali, for instance. It seems more along the usual shallower/wider lines.) The Evangeline seems to be that rare and precious foothold in this category for us comparatively deep, projecting, narrow, firm full-on-tops.

This is a pretty bra, good quality, very comfortable, but just doesn't look great on me - the straps are too close together so make it look like my boobs are pointing into my armpits, and the cup gives me an odd squarish shape. Didn't keep.

    Didn't fit

I bought this bra because I found it on sale for cheap, I like half-cups, and I know Fauve and Masquerade bras are comfy.

It doesn't fit me properly in the least: it's too shallow and small for me in this cup volume, the gore doesn't tack, and the band is very slightly too stretchy for me, even on the tightest setting, because I wear a 30 band.

    But it sure is pretty!

I have a review of the nude/Biscuit color here: http://www.bratabase.com/bra/dli7c/ I haven't noticed any differences between the colorways, other than the obvious (nude disappears better under light shirts, etc.)

  8. If fairies and elves really exist, they're shopping for bras like my Fauve Evangeline Padded Half Cup in Red. The full, rounded profile; the ethereally beautiful Leavers lace layered over the cups; the stretchy yet supportive band that doesn't cause back fat...My 30F Evangeline pushes my breasts up, to form that uber-cakes-on-a-plate cleavage, AND forces them toward the center of my chest. One can have almost touching breasts that from the front are very round in appearance but still move toward each other only with reluctance. I value bras that create maximum fullness around the center gore. Until I tried Ewa Michalak's 3D bras, I thought Fauve's half ... cup bras were the only ones that could do this. I tell ya, having very naturally firm breasts isn't all it's cracked up to be.

I got this Evangeline in Red, bought another in beige (Biscuit), and then tried it in black. All three fit the same. Every bit of the bra is comfortable. There is NO break-in period with Fauve, at least with the dozen or so I've tried. I've tried mostly padded half cups, but also three sheer half cups.

I worried that the Leavers lace was too delicate for frequent wear, but the underside of the straps wears faster than the lace. In fact, neither the red or beige (Biscuit) Evangeline is showing wear in the outer cup material. Maybe that's why these bras cost what they do, to source higher quality, more durable materials?

Being petite with close set breasts means even most plunge center gores are too high for me. I'm sure the gore height and cup coverage of Fauve's half cup bras are a necessity for women with soft tissue and more space between their breasts, but the gore is just too high on me for more than occasional wear.

I actually bought a backup of this bra, figuring a nude-for-me bra is versatile enough to justify the expense. However, the sad fact is that being petite with close set breasts means even most plunge center gores are too high for me. I'm sure the gore height and cup coverage of Fauve's half cup bras are a necessity for women with soft tissue and more space between their breasts, but the gore is just too high on me for more than occasional wear.

  10. Great shape, a bit of gapping on my smaller boob, but that's ok. The straps tend to slip down my shoulders because they are too wide-set.
