Astounded to find a padded half-cup working on me, but it does, amazingly well, though the shape it creates is definitely closer to the body than I expect to see. Tons and tons of lift, authoritarian construction and a VERY firm band appear to be the key. It has more depth in the bottom than most padded halfcups and thus accommodates my projection, but without actually giving a projected look. I have a lot of fullness on top and a tall root, with a slight slope above up to collarbone as well as the flagrant FoT, so I'm beyond delighted to find a workable half-cup. It gives a ... ... well, a less projectile than I expect yet absolutely perfect cakes-on-a-plate shape. It does not budge over 18 hours' wear, literally not an iota of downward wire crawl, wire mark perfectly placed right up in the inframammary fold, hallelujah. It's so comfortable there is literally zero to notice about it being on -- even late that night -- other than how awesome-looking one is and how little one's back hurts.
The same size as in my far duller, utility Fantasie side support bra, Susanna, worked perfectly here. The wire width seems very similar i.e. medium or maybe a tidge on the narrow side, and comes up plenty high enough at the sides -- very nice wire shape to find in a half-cup. (I did not have any gore issues. I'm wide-set as hell and the gore's a bit narrow for me, but I'm also splayed and firm so central support is wasted on me anyhow, it's all about uplift and push-in.)
(Note: Bratabase won't let me enter that it fits me without doing the whole measurement rigmarole. It absolutely does fit. I'll fix this eventually.)
If you are in my size range, which is at or near the top of Fauve's cup limit, and you're browsing for a padded halfcup because you're wide and shallow and have been told that that cut's a good bet, and you're just wondering hmm, what about Fauve, then I suggest another choice may suit you better. (I've just reviewed the Dali, for instance. It seems more along the usual shallower/wider lines.) The Evangeline seems to be that rare and precious foothold in this category for us comparatively deep, projecting, narrow, firm full-on-tops.
