PSA: This bra is not my size! I am already in the midst of altering several of my other bra bands that have stretched, and because I couldn't ever find this bra in this color in my size (a 30F), I settled on a distant sister size with the intention of totally reworking the band and where the straps attach. I'm not setting fit because it's too far off, and after alterations how it fits on me won't offer constructive data for the database.
I will say that it is so, so pretty I'm not even sure I can express it ...in words. It is definitely girly, but in a ladylike vintage sort of way that makes me think of petit fours and tea parties. The lace is just right, not too fussy and not too subtle, and since the 30F - Fauve ยป Coco Padded Half Cup Bra (0251) in Willow has the same lace, I know it doesn't show under clothes. And the shimmer! The satin is so soft, and it really does shine. Also, the adorable rhinestone-and-pearl accented double ribbon bows at the straps and center gore are small and definitely blend in, but are just enough detailing to make the whole thing look perfectly finished and luxurious.
I am totally satisfied with my decision to buy it, and I can't wait til I can wear it! Read more 130 more words
Let us know how the alteration works out. I am also looking for the same bra, but haven't found it in 30E - might look for a sister size and shorten the band like you.
I was inspired by another bratabase user! Unfortunately I can't remember which one so as to give them credit, but we'll share the love around. :)
I look forward to how that goes- that's a pretty major alteration! I did something similar with a Fauve Dali halfcup, but I was lucky enough to only have to work from two sister sizes away. Or- well, one sister size away, since Fauve doesn't come in 28!
I have this bra in red and white; red is a 32E and white is a 36D that I altered the band down to a 30 on. I'm not sure if it's because the colourway is different, or because of the difference in cup size, but the hooks and eyes and the band in the white are much narrower than in the red.
The cut of the Marla is best suited for boobs without a lot of upper volume. The underwires are not the widest of any Fauve models (that would be Isobel or Mia) so they barely fit my wide chest. The straps are fully adjustable and very comfortable. The embroidery felt a little scratchy at first, but it is beginning to soften with wear. The bra looks quite luxurious, sadly the panties looked wrong on my body and the bra is quite hard to match with any underwear because of its brownish purple color.
This bra is seriously stunning, but I accidentally ordered the balcony instead of the padded halfcup, and it's WAY too deep and narrow for me. Which shouldn't be a shock, since Fauve unpadded bras are known for being narrow!
Seriously wish I could fit into it though, it's just gorgeous.
:-) Sounds lovely!!
