I've never really been interested in wireless/soft cup bras before, but perhaps I've just been browsing too many bra websites and started to wonder how they would fit. Since I have a small band size, it's really hard to find bralettes or soft cup bras that fit, since usually anything that fits my band size snugly will completely smush the breasts. I hate sports bras for this reason. However, I saw this one randomly at Nordstrom Rack in the bralette section and decided to give it a try, and I am happy that I did!
The main factors that drew me to this bra was the ... presence of a hook back (I despise pullover styles) and removable cup padding. I thought this could be a good comfortable bra to wear around the neighborhood on casual days when the weather gets cooler, since you don't always have to put on a structured bra to go outside, but the unlined bralettes I tend to wear at home don't give enough coverage or shape to go out in public. It's made of the same knit nylon/spandex that a lot of one piece knit sports bras are made of, so it feels a bit warm and woolly, but I am not planning to wear this during the summer anyway.
Felina provides a helpful guide on the tag to help you determine your correct size. Size S is listed as suitable for sizes 32A-D as well as 34A-C, and I have to agree with this. While the measurements don't show much cup depth, I feel pretty confident that it could certainly fit the upper end of the size range (32D/34C), since it fits me at 30D and would stretch further. I'd also agree with the band size, since it can be hooked on the tightest hook to sit almost flat on my 27" ribcage, but it feels totally loose. Given how stretchy the fabrication is, I think this would definitely stretch to fit within a 32-34 band size. It may also work for larger 30 band sizes, but to the extent that it wouldn't ride up. I doubt it would feel supportive on a 30 frame, but sometimes comfort is all you're looking for, and we don't need that much support all the time when it comes to this type of bra.
The sizing recommendation is given as thus:
S: 32A-D, 34 A-C
M: 34D-DD, 36A-D (this is truly odd since it insinuates that it only fits a 2 cup range in a 34 but a 4 cup range in a 36?
L: 36DD, 38A-D (same as above, what?)
XL: 38DD, 40C-D (this makes more sense to me as the band to cup ratio seems to be maintained)
I tried this on under clothing and was pleased to see that it really looks like wearing a normal underwire t-shirt bra. The plunge shape also helps it work well under clothing as it doesn't come up too high at the center chest. I like that the straps are also nice and wide, and although it's not fully adjustable, I had no problems with it.
I plan to alter this bra's band to give myself a more secure fit, but overall I am very pleased with this wireless bra! Now, if I could only find one that's actually designed for a 28DD/30D . . .
