I bought this bra to wear for a friends wedding. I had to size up in the band to get the projection I needed and it still buckled at the bottom while I was wearing it. It is fairly closed on top. I think this bra would work better for someone who is wide rooted and fairly shallow. The band is wonderfully soft and comfortable. It is a bit small for a 38 as I typically wore a 36 band when I bought it. When the band stretches it widens the cup and creates a more east-west shape than I like.
