  1. Moulded Sports Bra (4892)

    Longer straps than the Panache, which is good.
    Much wider, shallower cups; the wire width makes it not as comfy or as supportive.
    Slightly less firm band.
    Shape isn't as good as in the Panache; lift and projection are less present.
    Much more true to size than the Panache, in which I wear the 34F or FF.
    It fits, but it's not as good an option for my particular rack.
    I do like the width of the band as well as the contrast stitching and hooks.

    Have you ever seen a work truck or a work van? The kind of vehicle you drive when you don’t need a pretty paint job, but you need to get some serious work done and haul your tools securely?

    This bra is the work van of bras.

    It is not cute. It is not colorful. It is not a bra you’d want to show off with cute leggings. But I’ve had this bra for years (4 maybe?), and in that time, I don’t think my breasts have bounced once while I was wearing it. This is actually my second version of this same bra because I had the first ... one in a different size when I was thinner. They last forever. (Don’t be afraid to run up some mileage on this work van!)

    This is an encapsulation bra, not a compression bra. Your breasts will not be squeezed, but they will be imprisoned. (This is a good thing if you plan to jump around, IMO.) They will not be round. The seams will not be subtle. You may not want to wear a thin shirt, if you are about those aesthetic issues. The band is firm, which I like in a sports bra, but you may want to size up if you’re between sizes because it won’t stretch out much.

    Technically, the cups on this bra are a too wide and a little too far apart for me. The wire goes too far back under my arm, and the gore doesn’t tack at the top. The wires don’t rub or pinch, and everything feels secure, so this “fits” well enough that I can wear it comfortably. If you have a wider breast root or breasts that are father apart, then this would be a good bra for you. I would avoid it if you have a lot of fullness on top because the top of the cup is not going to stretch or bend to accommodate that. If you’re full on bottom or have even fullness, then it should be fine. If you have narrow roots and are more close-set or center-full (like me), you can probably still wear this one, but just be aware that the wires aren’t going to fit perfectly.

    Fits

    So I know I’ve said this bra fits, and it does mostly fit. The cups are actually a little too wide for me, and a little too far apart. The wire goes farther back under my arm than it really should, and the top of the gore does not tack completely. That being said... with close-set, narrow, and projected tissue, these issues are not unique to this bra for me, personally. The wire does not rub uncomfortably, and I get good stability and control despite the imperfect gore fit, so it “fits” well enough that I like it.

    I love the spacer foam. It’s lightweight and breathable. It ... doesn’t create quite the same lift and shaping as the Panache Sport Sports Bra (5021), but it still works really well. I can jog and feel that everything is secure. I like the J-Hook so I can get the extra security of a racerback but can also unhook it when I’m done exercising, and I don’t ever need to pull the bra over my head.

    If you are narrow/projected like me, this won’t be an ideal fit, but it’s a good fit and a good option if you don’t want as much coverage as styles like the Panache 5021. If you have a wider shape, it will probably be a perfect sports bra for you.

    (Purchased lightly used.)

    Underwired, lightly molded-cup sports bra with J-hook for racerback option. Has 4 sets of eyes for 4-hook closure. Bra is black with white bits including stitching details and hooks and eyes.

    Band is tight.

    ~~~~~~~~~~
    Fits, kinda. Not enough to keep. Only wore it a couple times.
    CUPS: Molded, but malleable. Not made for my boobs. Way too tall.
    BAND: Very, very tight. I can wear it. Very supportive with 4 hooks.
    CUP DEPTH/APEX: Depth is okay, but the apex is too high for me. Lots of empty space at the tops.
    STRAPS: Fine for me. Only partially adjustable. Have to let them out to wear them hooked in the racerback position. Too wide set for my frame.
    COMFORT: Good. If it fit me better, I'd probably really like this bra.
    AESTHETICS: Good, I guess. It's black with white stitching. It's a sports bra. Kinda fits like a breastplate on me, but I'm short with short boobs.
    ~~~~~~~~~~
    Will be listing as it doesn't really fit me.

    This bra is not owned any more

    I kept this bra because I needed a sports bra asap, but the pointy profile made me so uncomfortable under tank tops that I stopped wearing this once I moved on to a replacement (the Panache moulded cup sports bra.) It's a really pointy shape because of the horizontal seam around the cups. It's a soft cup, so I was also concerned about nipple show through while wearing it.

    The front V-neck shape was odd, because though the cups fit me, the top edge of the cup near my neck cut in just a bit because it's trying to be a flat line from the strap over to the center gore, and caused it to cut in a bit on my full-on-top shape. The wires are very wide and come up in to the armpit, which also didn't work well for me.

    I wore this during yoga classes, and the band is very firm to the point of interfering with the breathing exercises, and it didn't relax and stretch as much as I had expected it to.
