Very pleased with the fit and look of this bikini top! (Why can't I get a bra to fit like this?) As usual I'd be better off with a 28 band, but it wasn't available so I went with the sister size of 30D. The band on mine seems to be a little big -- it measures a full 32" stretched. However, I can easily take it in near the clasp. This top lifts and supports better than any bathing suit I've had in years.
The Freya Kansas is very well made, especially for a swimsuit. I was pleasantly surprised by the elastic ...inside the halter straps. I've never seen this done before, and I think it makes a huge difference as opposed to just having empty fabric ties -- it really adds comfortable support, but in a subtle way. The mesh fabric inside the entire top also adds some additional support. The clasp at the back is sturdy and easy to operate (unlike department store swimsuit hooks, which I've broken on one or two occasions).
The shape this top gives is very good -- not pointy at all as I feared it might be. Rather, it gives a very nice rounded shape, even for my small chest. The cups are two-part (meaning there is one angled seam near the center) and are free of all padding. They are lined with only the aforementioned lightweight mesh. I don't find them to be small -- I think the measurement is just what it should be for a plunge cup in this size.
Very happy with this purchase and would definitely buy Freya swimwear again!!
** UPDATE ** The band turned out to be too loose on this bikini top... However, swim tops are easily altered, so I've fixed it. It's the equivalent of a tight 28DD now, which is fine, because once in the water it loosens up noticeably). Read more 221 more words
Me: Average projection. Fuller on bottom. Slightly wider left breast (I suspect this breast is also 1-2 ml taller than my other breast). Maybe tall roots? Usually wear 28DD or 30D.
28DD was my recommended bra from Bratabase. I bought both 28DD and 30D because some of the reviews say the band runs small. 28DD fit me perfectly. With 30D, the band was a bit looser but I think 28DD fit me better. For 30D, the gore wasn't didn't fully tack. Straps don't dig in and my muscle/fat doesn't stick out from the bikini. It's a good bikini, but I think I'll keep the 28DD.
When I started with my search for a bikini top, I realized that 30DD fits okay but gapes on the top when I moved my arms forward. Sizing down solved the problem and luckily the bikini still fits without quadboob. I am FOB which should also help. I'm not a huge fan of the design - its okay - but I feel safe when swimming. The top of the bra tends to turn down when I'm swimming which results in the white inner side of the cup showing on the top. I thought about fixing this with a few stitches but I have not tried till now.
I bought this and one other bikini while on vacation last year. At the time I thought it was a decent enough fit although I never wore this one, I wore the other one once. It is too small in the cup, which I knew when buying it but it was better than other bikini tops I tried that weren't from full bust brand. I think the underwires are actually fairly narrow for a bandeau as well, but am not sure as I usually don't buy 30D bras. The gore measures wide and tall, but since you can ruche the center it can get narrow and shorter. This would probably work best for someone who is more FOB and shallow.
For some reason I thought for a while that I would fit into this bikini top, but it doesn't seem that way now. It is about two cup sizes too small for me now. I love the colours - have been a sucker for loud bikinis all my life. Classic Freya quality, balcony sweetheart shape, comes with XS tie side bottoms.
I have a wide root and shallow boobs. I do need flat cups but not extraordinary wide wires. I almost don't have any volume on top.
The band runs true to size, in my opinion Freya Swim runs tighter than usual Freya styles. The cups are true to size but very, very shallow and wide wired. They usually are a little to flat for me but I really liked the design so I kept the bra. The bikini top doesn't do anything with my boobs as the cut isn't the best for me.
I measure 28.15 but sizes up to a 30 for comfort. The bikini top feels a bit tight and after S&S i get some quadboob that goes away after a few minutes. I have quite shallow breasts and could possibly try another cup size up but this will do for now.
I have wide-root, separated breasts that naturally fall into my underarms.I don't know why this bra is considered to be "padded". It has underwire, but there is no extra material under the lining. This does not seem to add any bulk at all. It's beautiful, with vivid flattering colors, and it's comfortable, too.
I love this bikini. I have a similar one, from years ago, but with the halter in the centre. This one stays put when swimming, fits like a dream and looks gorgeous and stylish. Also kept its form after its first holiday!!
I love this bikini top. It's comfortable, makes my boobs look good, and - even better - it stays in place no matter what I do in it, diving into a pool, running into big waves . . . (the bottoms don't stay in place as well, though). Unfortunately it's getting a bit too small now, giving me slight quadboob. It fit perfectly when I was a 30C in other bras. The colour are more vibrant than in my pics, btw. - somehow my camera didn't capture those well.
