I ordered this prior to actually finding some other bikini tops I like better. This top is really cute and the photos are rather deceiving in making it look like a pretty good fit. The top is quite wide and shallow, but does have some apex projection.
I love the look, just wish it was a better fit. I might try the same top in one of the other styles. The photos really make it look like a much better fit, if it looked more like the photos in person I would probably keep it.
This bikini is so cuuuute and I so really wish I could keep it as my favorite bikini š For this review I'm going to be referring to it as a bra, tho I do know it's a bikini. I ordered this from Lingerie Outlet Store (https://lingerieoutletstore.co.uk/) and I'll be sending it back as it does not fit https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
Look: The design is wonderful. There's something about the horizontal zig-zag pattern that makes me feel like I'd feel really pretty in this bra on a summer day. I also really like the top band across the cup that follows ...the cup edge, it ties the pattern together with the shape and it's a nice touch. The shape and style of the bra is just generally really nice, it looks pretty nice on me especially with the quadding. (Okay I'm joking quadding doesn't look good) I'd imagine this bikini top would look really great on someone it'd fit!
Fit: The fit is definitely less than ideal. The cups are too shallow. I need a deeper cup and more immediate projection. The cups are lightly padded and it's a 3-part cup, the former being a bad sign and the latter being a good sign. With my projected and very even shape I'm likely to struggle finding padded bras that fit, and whilst I have yet to try a padded bra in my size and shape, I'm forever skeptical. 3-part cups are usually a sign that the bra is likely to fit me as I need the diagonal top seam to cement together the bottom and top of the cup, and usually the top of the cup has to be tall. High apex bras are my true love! Comparing to my 30E Cleo Erin, it seems the diagonal cup seam (from the gore and up to the strap) needs to be anchored further down on the gore. I'm not entirely certain what changing that seam would do in terms of technicality of fabric, but I can reason it to be(and I feel that it is) that the fabric will have a more closed shape on top - going from a triangular shape to more of a ball shape, so imagine from high apex to balconette (thought that's not necessarily a good comparison because high apex bras are good stuff and balconettes can have a tendency to not have a tall enough cup edge). It'll make the overall cup shape rounder, and the way I see it, bras that give me a round profile have enough fabric to do so. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" />
Feel: The fit is all around decent. The band is a little loose and the wires don't feel entirely correct, but the fabric is soft and seems to be 100% swimsuit fabric. If it weren't for the poor cup fit I'd definitely be very comfortable in this. There's no scratchy parts anywhere, no digging, and the straps are fully adjustable.
Quality: The quality is really good. The side boning is flexible but stiffer than I expected, which is a good sign. All the seams are solid and the whole thing is overall well constructed. I think the clasp is the thing that would break first, and even so they're designed to last for a while. The clasp is smaller than I'd expect though, but I can't say if that'll break sooner because of its size. Read more 470 more words
Bikinis are the hardest to fit, probably because there's so little bratabase information and reviews on them in general. It's always a crapshoot if they fit/work. This one does have a cute pattern, sorry it didn't work out for you! Good luck next time.
I hear you. Iāve yet to order one because it is somewhat less flexible as you canāt add an extender, but also with the material being different from bras. Itās a different level of stretch and fit.
It does look cute if it was a size or two larger though.
Wilderness1 Thanks! I'm gonna look for a completely unpadded one next time. I've definitely noticed the lack of info on bikinis on bratabase. :(
Calluna Ye it's very much a different thing altogether. I have a Curvy Kate bikini in a 28 band and it's really stretchy, it fits perfectly but is looser than my Panache bra 28 bands. Is very difficult. A size larger would have worked if I wasn't so even/FoT, but alas I'm so even that the tissue on top takes a lot of space. I think this bikini would work for people who have FoB shapes and maybe even deflated tissue. Or just people who aren't so FoT like me lol :P
Easily the most beautiful bikini that has come into my possession. I bought this before re-measuring myself and realizing my size is 30FF now. This style isn't available in a 28 band which is unfortunate because it seems to run large. I wanted this to work so badly for me.
Another one of the few sizes I tried this bikini top in!
This is my regular UK size of 30E and it has two issues:
- The band is too tight, stretching to just 29". This is definitely a surprise in a Freya bikini top (as Freya is notoriosly known for their loose bands). This bikini is an exception.
- The cups are rather large and covering. There is no gaping by any means, but I feel that cup size might become an issue as soon as I'm wearing this for swimming - remember that swimwear fabrics tend to loosen up and stretch when wet.
In the end, I went for a 32D in this top, which is a surprise given the fact that I'm on the larger side of 30E already in most bras.
I bought this one along with the Freya fever. For some reason I thought it would fit in 30E and boy, was I wrong. Iām really sad it didnāt work. It was a bargain and the colour is so beautiful. Unfortunately not only I donāt get enough support, but also I quad quite dangerously. The band - runs definitely loose. Itās even hard to say if the cups are wide enough without altering the band. The cups - I first thought it was wearable but then I realized that the underwires are actually sitting on my breast tissue under my armpits and my boobs are outside the cup. As the band ...is loose, I didnāt feel it immediately. The center gore is floating, itās not even touching my sternum. The cup edge cuts in. The straps - I really like how the halterneck looks on me but I hate feeling the straps on my neck so I wouldnāt be able to wear it even in a right cup size. The bra is convertible though so you can wear it with regular straps. The only hitch is that they are very long (way too long for me) even though theyāre partially adjustable with notches in the straps. Iām not sure yet if Iāll be keeping it ājust in caseā as it was cheap (15ā¬).
I read some rave reviews about this cut, some of them saying it might be better to size down in the cup. Iām between 30e and 30f now, but most of my 30e doesnāt fit me anymore, besides some Freya bras. Therefore I thought it would be safe to order this one in 30e. Well, this cut does run large in cups but not a whole size or at least not on me. Itās actually hard to say if it fits as there seem to be a kind of shape mismatch. This bikini top features some of Freya characteristics I particularly dislike and which definitely convinced me to stick ...with EM bras: - The underwires are shorter than the channels. I donāt understand why they always put shorter underwires. In my case it causes a lack of support. - The part of the cup between the strap attachment and the outer underwireās end is very long, too long for me and it wrinkles. - The upper part of the band is too long and it doesnāt stay put. This bra just doesnāt seem to be made for my shape and proportions. The cups cut in (the quad boob decreases with wear though, itās less dramatic than of the pics) but I donāt think a bigger cup would be fine since thereās already too much room under my armpits. Itās important to note that the cup material is more or less stretchy. Other than that, the band is rather standard. I have a Freya Supernova bikini top in 30F which is super tight and extremely uncomfortable. This one is much looser but still firm and supportive. I think itās ok for a bikini top but would be definitely too loose for an everyday wear. The elastics in the band seem large enough to not cut in. This bikini isnāt a perfect fit but will try it in the water before deciding if itās wearable or not. Read more 209 more words
I wanted to like this, I really did. I liked the design. I liked that it was a tankini. But, I don't like the fit!
Freya bands usually run big in the band and they didn't carry this in a 28 band, so I was prepared for a looser fit. I also adjusted the cup based on the band I was getting, expecting the sister sizing to come to my rescue. At first, it seemed okay, but scooping and swooping was a terrible, terrible mistake. I would have to go up to maybe a 30F or 30FF to fit the cups the quadboob was so bad.
Maybe it's the construction? It doesn't have an underwire, so scooping and swooping didn't really work as well. Also, there's this awkward seam that runs where the underwire should be, but then shoots up at this unnatural angle that my boobs want to follow.
I tried adjusting the straps, no use. I tried not scooping and swooping and felt flattened out a little. It's probably a shape thing, but this isn't for me.
I love this bikini. It fits better than most of my bras. The cups are a little wide, but very comfortable. The stretchy fabric allows for any amount of projection. I sized down in the cups (from my usual 30F to a 30E) since I'm pretty center heavy (and a plunge style means a lot of my breast tissue is not actually in the cups). There is some odd puckering at the top of the cup sometimes, but adjusting/pulling on the cups a little fixes it easily.
Without being too excited about this tankini or using a tad too much hyperbole, this may be the greatest thing I've ever purchased in my life, excluding my dog. I bought it at a factory shop for only Ā£8 and the only downside is I bought it in a 30E rather than a 28F. No worries, I can just keep it fasted on the tightest set of hooks. That's it. That's the only thing bad I can say about it other than possibly looking slightly ridiculously trying to get into and out of it. The "bra" section of the tankini is made of a white netting material ...and is a properly constructed 2-seam bra with underwire and three sets of hooks at the back. Then along the top at the front, the colourful pattered swimsuit fabric is attached. This means no bunching at the back and no odd seam at the front under your boobs. The straps are fully adjustable and a nice thickness. But saving the best for last - this tankini is LONG. I'm 5'9" and all torso and have never found any tankini that reaches my bellybutton, let along my bikini bottoms. This is perfect. Fits like it was made for me. Read more 99 more words
I was disappointed by this one. Despite being labeled as my regular size, it has really high coverage, wrinkles, wires are almost at my back, and it does not shape/lift my boobs at all - it's just, kinda, eating them up :/ It's often said that the Freya Sweetheart bikinis run small, but it's def. not true for this one - don't know if it's mislabeled or just not my shape.
I bought this when I was at size 30DD, but fits as 30E as well. The cut is pretty forgiving. It's very flattering for shallow boobs, but will work for other shapes as well.
The band is tight which is a surprise in a Freya bikini. Everything stays nicely put while swimming and moving, even after hours.
Despite not having wires, the bikini top does a great job at centering the bust and even creates a nice cleavage! It's a bit flattening from the side, but not too bad as the padding keeps the overall look balanced.
The only small letdown is the thick material... it takes a long time to dry completely (but maybe that's because I'm not used to padded bikini tops).
The bra is pretty, although the cups look quite big on me. It gives a nice rounded shape and the cups are slightly padded, so me being cold doesn't show. The largest downside is the top of the cups that wrinkle as soon as I bend over, but it looks like that's a shape issue, more than a size issue (I have the same with most plunge bra's).
This is a very pretty bikini but unfortunately doesnĀ“t fit very well.
I usually wear 28F and I got this in 30E. The 30 band is snug enough for a bikini. But the cups donĀ“t fit me very well. I get some quadboobing. I also have some wrinkles at the bottom of the cups but if I tighten "the straps" then quadboobing gets worse. Seems I have all the same issues in all my bikinis... I think I shouldĀ“ve got this in 30F.
Funny that this model has quite wide wires, but I donĀ“t find them too wide. ItĀ“s got to be due to something in the shape of the wires... Other bras / bikinis that have narrower wires according to measurements I have found too wide!
This bikini top doesnĀ“t have "straps", but it has one thread that you can adjust to how ever long or ahort you like.
This is a good quality Freya bikini set. The top is unfortunately too small in the cups for me, though, and I hope it can go to a good home and actually get worn https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
The top is 30E. It has underwire, a clasp at the back and the straps are adjustable. There's a metal ring on the central gore.
The bikini bottom is size XS. It has sexy side ties, which I love because that means any muffin top is minimized https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" />
If you need more photos, I can send them your way.
This is a really cute top!
