This is a no-underwire bikini from Freya. Usually I wear a 30E, but this bikini has a very tight band, therefore I have it in 32DD. It is very comfortable and I like the style of it. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> There are two problems with it: The top of the cup doesn't sit flat and folds away, no matter the size, it seems to be a common problem (even though from afar it is not noticeable) and if I bow down, I don't feel entirely sure everything stays covered. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" /> It's fine in the water though, doesn't expand and it feels safe, doesn't float away or something. Generally, I like it very much.
Supportive bikini top with inner underwire cups and outer layer of sturdy fabric. Would say the cup shape is almost a weird pointy style but it doesn't matter because of the outer fabric. Wrong size for me so available here on bratabase. (I did not include the frill in measurements for gore and wing).
My shape: close set, center full, full on bottom, average/narrow width roots, tall shallow roots, soft tissue.
I ordered this from Bare Necessities partly for bra science and partly to see if it would win me over!
I absolutely love the green/pink print on it, it has some flecks of neon green color too which I love. I ordered this a size smaller than usual since it was all they had at the time, but it’s a decent fit/shape considering. I don’t feel like it’s too skimpy up top and on the sides, I do tend to tolerate “skimpier” style/type of coverage in swimsuits. The fabric is nice and soft ...and overall looks well made.
The cups are soft, there are no wires, and the center “gore” the fabric is sewn over itself a bit in a triangle. The soft cups have one vertical seam and one horizontal seam, they are not very deep and look very flat, but since they’re wireless they take more of your breast shape I believe. There is a very soft side boning on the sides of the cup, it’s flexible but still gives some structure which is nice. The top is adjustable as a halter and is comfortable on my neck.
The band is comfortable, albeit slightly loose. There’s only one plastic setting in the back, so I do wish it was a little bit tighter, I’m not sure how this would hold up when wet. Band is 27” in length and stretches to about 31.5” (I don’t usually pull a lot on the bands to get measurements because I don’t want to ruin a new bra/top, so it probably stretches a bit more than that). It is looser than my loose underbust measurement, so maybe that’s why it feels a little loose (?), not sure, but I don’t think I’d want to risk it.
I ordered the side tie bottoms in size M (which is the size I usually get in swim and regular underwear) and I absolutely hate them. First, they are too big, I couldn’t tighten the strings enough to get a snug fit around, and the back coverage is very full, a little more than what I like. (I will try to update the bottom pics with measurements). Plus it just sort of hangs since it’s so loose. I measure 39.5” (100cm) at the fullest part of my hips. Overall, it misses some marks for me in terms of fit, both top and bottom. Read more 304 more words
This is a great bikini top! Though it is non-wired, it fits perfectly, the band is comfortable and the cups as well. I also tried it in size 30E, but here the band was way too tight (and the cups were a bit too small).
I have the grey version of this top. I bought this a few years ago before covid, so the fit has changed a bit. Then I was ~5 lbs and much tequila flab lighter, i had trouble filling the cup at the top more often than not. Now, I have a perplexing quadboob while not quite filling the top of the cup at the outer edges, but also spilling out the sides at the armpits. I think the cup volume is okayish, but maybe the wire is too narrow and doesn't come up high enough on the outer sides. Gore sits fine, and I like the thicker straps. I'm 5'3" and the straps adjust short enough for my liking. Overall the construction seems very solid and the design is cute without being cutsey, so I do plan to keep it until I find something that properly fits/I can use it as incentive to pare down a bit.
Very cute top. Shape doesn't look droopy, which I feel often happens with bandeaus. Feels less secure than the 32D,since the elastic on top of the cup is a bit loose for me. Band is a bit loose for me as well, but doesn't ride up (not yet... I will alter if it rides up). Narrower wires than expected for a bandeau top, but still too wide for me. Also wider than the 32D.
This was my first bandeau bikini bra and also my first Freya bra. I bought it online, so I had to guess the right size. Assuming it was similar as my usual 34DD/34E, I first ordered it in 34E. The band was too big and the cups were also 2 sizes too big. So I returned it and ordered the 32DD instead. It looks and feels very good with the soft halter strap and slightly padded cups, but the cups are a little snug for my boobs a few days in the month. I am not sure that a 32E would have been perfect for me anyway, so I am happy that this bikini is my 2012 summer beach winner.
That’s really cute!
