November 2015 Update: Cups WAY too small. I've had this sitting in a box along with a lot of other bras throughout college and now it's finally time to break them out and sell them! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Original 2013 Review: This was one of the first 30 bands that I bought, before I knew about Bratabase, so I didn't know how big Freya bands are. The reviews on Barenecessities where I bought it said to size up in the cup. This may or may not have been correct for me; I can't really tell since the shape isn't correct. While the wires are wide, the ... cups are too deep for me near the center front. This bra is definitely for breasts that are more close-set and full (rather than shallow).
I altered the band since it was much too loose. I ended up making it too tight (first bra alteration ever) but it's stretched out over time. If the band was any bigger, I wouldn't fill the cups all the way. Since the band is so tight, the wires have been stretched out. They actually come back too far under my arms, but the cups encompass all of my tissue. If I swoop and scoop like crazy, I have slight quad-boob, but once I settle there are small gaps in the center front. (I think that this is because the cups were stretched too far to the sides, so it allows my tissue to settle in my armpits even though they're fully encompassed.) The shape of the cups is unlike anything I've ever seen and I definitely know now that the Freya half-cups would not fit me well.
Pros:
- Really pretty colors
- Smooth, so it doesn't show under clothing
- Firm band
- Highly adjustable straps
- Slight push-up pads (VERY hard to find in anything above a D cup [even if my breasts are technically small and would like some cleavage])
- Gives me a very forward-projected shape under clothing
Cons:
- Cups too deep, too wide, and too close-set for me
- Band too large (before alteration)
- Gore digs in
- Straps too wide in front so they dig into my armpits
