    Didn't fit

Maximum sideboob. Is this what people mean when they say a bra is "east-west"-y?

I tried this Freya in 28G from Amazon Wardrobe & I'm bummed it didn't work because the color (Shark) was lovely, the cup lining was comfy, and the 28 band was really comfortable. Probably the best Freya 28 band I've ever tried.

But the cups are just wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too wide.

My boobs were sitting so far out to the sides. There were wrinkles at the top of the cup because there was so much side-room for boob!! Crazy.

The wire was just... in the wrong place everywhere. Not even close to my IMF. My boobs just ... folded up inside this bra. I highlighted the empty space in the photo of my armpit.

Is it too big? I tried 28FF's before this and they were all too small at the cup so I was trying 28G next.

Am I too narrow for this bra? The cups feel just so, so, so wide. I've had this problem with a bunch of "large cup 28's" but I am convinced my boobs aren't that narrow, they don't match the little drawn icon of narrow boobs at all, and I didn't think "boobs across 100% of my front (but not halfway to my back)" counted as narrow.

It's really too bad because everything else about this bra was comfortable - the band felt great (minus the wire), the cups were soft lace and so comfortable, and I loved the color.

About me: Usually UK 28F / Comexim 60HH, but 25 weeks pregnant and +2 cup sizes (for now). Too bad I still need (desperately) need 28's, it would be a lot easier to wear 30s.

    • bummmer!! Yeah, I agree with what you said above, just too wide. Looks like there's too much empty space on the side.

Freya (not half-cups) are supposed to be more on the narrow side, too! larger than F cup (according the this graphic that I think I found on bratabase - all data taken from bratabase) https://braodyssey.blogspot.com/2021/05/wire-lengths-from-very-narrow-to-very.html

so, I'm not sure which ones from amazon will work for you? I understand that you prob don't want to invest tons of $ in bras r.n., if your cup size is still changing though.

    • edit: congrats on the pregnancy! Not sure if I said that before. : )

    • I wonder if it’s too tight of a band, causing wire distortion and pulling too much on the cups.

    • It’s been a long time since I tried on Freya balconette styles (in 30F and a few 30FF), but I recall there was significant variability in wire width between styles. And I do remember a few where the wires wrapped around my sides like that.

I’m not sure if there’s an easy way to determine which styles will have narrower wires or if you just have to look at Bratabase measurements for each style.

I think for Freya (could be confusing with another brand though) there is a cup size at which they change the design/shape of the cups for larger sizes, and the wires are wider above that point, but I’m pretty sure that is a larger cup than 28G.

    • Calluna I wish the band was too tight! Because if I could find a 30 that didn't feel like a saggy bag around my ribcage, I would definitely buy 30s in a heartbeat!! But the band was soooo comfortable. I actually loved the length. :(

    • I gotcha! Part of the pictures looked like maybe there was a little bit of wire distortion, but I couldn’t tell for sure.

meerkat This particular bra makes the shift at GG, I believe (based on me recently trying on this bra in 30G and 30GG).

    • callie510 , anya99 has tons of comexims around your new size (60L?) although if you're still getting bigger, hmm.

She sells them for $34 + shipping. https://www.bratabase.com/profile/lny/listings/

Or even some of the 65s might be small enough. Just a thought! At least they're comfy!

Me: Average projection. Fuller on bottom. Slightly wider left breast (I suspect this breast is also 1-2 ml taller than my other breast). Usually wear 28DD or 30D.

I decided to take a chance and buy this bra again in a larger cup size. The previous bra (28DD) fit me really well with a bit of quadding. Unfortunately, I couldn't size down the band since they didn't have anything smaller than 28. I'm really glad I took a chance on this bra, because it fits me so well! Well, I'd say the cups fit me 95% which is pretty darn good. There is a very slight wrinkling at the ... top of the cups, but it's barely noticeable and you can't even see it through shirts. I imagine it's there because I couldn't go down a band size; I also have to wear the bra on its 2nd tightest hook because of this. It's such a pretty bra and I'm glad I found it.

Only other con is that I can't wear tight shirts or the lace shows through, and that looks a bit weird. I remember someone on Reddit saying that lace bras makes it look like you're hiding popcorn in your shirt, and that describes my situation pretty well.

This is a well-constructed and pretty bra. I have two major fit issues wearing it: the cups are too small (however, sizing up in the cup didn't work for me) and the center gore is too wide. It almost feels like the center fullness of my chest is pushing the gore down a little. The top of the underwires touch my chest, but it feels like the wire between the gore and the wire midpoint isn't able to sit flat. It's fairly comfortable, but the center of the underwires tends to dig in on my chest after a while. I will continue to wear this bra as the fit issues mentioned don't make it unsuitable for everyday use.

Honestly, this is the prettiest, most comfortable bra I have had in a long time. I love the lace/mesh look of this bra. The straps are wider than I usually like to buy (because I like to wear them under camisoles and not have the strap show), but they are SO comfortable, I can't complain. The ONLY thing I don't love about this bra is that the straps aren't Multi-way. They are stationary, cannot be crossed or anything like that, which is unfortunate. That said, there's seriously nothing else I don't love about this bra. It is unlined, so my large breasts sit comfortably supported, without any extra ... padding or pressure, etc. I have lactating breasts, due to a side effect of medication, so I generally wear nursing bras to accommodate that, meaning that this is the first non-nursing bra I have bought in a long time, and I am SO happy with it. I had almost forgotten how much more supportive a great bra is. I love this bra, truly. I bought it in black and beige, and I'm looking for it in my size in red and blue because I love it so much. It's well manufactured, and I can tell that it will last a LONG time, way longer than anything from Victoria's secret or similar. I am thrilled.

    Didn't fit

TLDR didn't fit me, but its really cute and soft and i really had high hopes when I bought it. I've been so bummed out about this not fitting that I've avoided writing a review for it tbh.

    DESIGN:
When I saw this in the online store and for a decent price, I just HAD to try it. It looks good in pictures and it holds up in real life. There's three different kinds of lace, each with its own pattern. The bottom 2/3rds of the cup have this flowery lace and by flowery lace i mean the lace itself is weaved in various flower patterns. It is heckin ... cute. The top 1/3rd has vertically stretchy lace weaved in a diamond pattern (extremely stylish!) and the cup edge is another separate piece of very elastic lace, weaved like a band with lots of holes in it. The cups are lined with non-stretch power mesh. The wings have stretch mesh. The straps are shiny, lined with little lace hoops and just a little wider than I'm used to (1,5cm). I got the feeling the straps would be hard to adjust because of the hoops (loops?), but when I tried adjusting the straps, it was easier than on most bras! The decoration on the gore is stylish, more elegant than cute.

Let's just briefly mention that COLOR tho. It's red, but somewhere around wine red and wine purple. It looked hella good online and I still like the color when I have the bra in front of me.

    FIT:
Ah yes, the fit. For me it was not good. Plunge styles never work for me because of my pendulous inner full/vertically even shape, I always spill out the middle. This bra was no exception. There wasn't enough immediate projection as well so my breasts were pushing the cup away from my body and not filling out the bottom of the cup. The cup edge was cutting in to my inner fullness also. At the time of writing this in February, I haven't tried this on since April last year. It didn't fit the first time and since then my band size has increased, and I haven't really felt like trying on a bra that's gonna be too small even with an extender.
I think one of the reasons this bra was a poor fit is partially a clear shape mismatch, and partially some pretty stretchy cup fabric. I need firm non-elastic cup material for optimal fit.

    QUALITY:
This whole bra is so. SOFT. Everywhere I touch it it just feels velvety and silky and it is very pleasant! The wings' stretch mesh is really silky and the hook-and-eye closing part is so soft it feels like microfleece. All of the fabric used in the cup is silky and I don't think the fabric would be coarse or scratchy anywhere whilst wearing it. Even the wire channels are really soft to the touch.
It feels like a solid construction like a bra usually should. All the seams feel solid, nothing feels wonky or flimsy.

Expression is another new Freya style. Sometimes Freya's unlined plunge styles don't work for me because they can be too tall in the cup for me, so my lack of upper center fullness makes the cup look pretty empty. Thankfully, this turned out to be the Fancies Unlined Plunge cut, which is their only Unlined Plunge cut that works for my shape. The main difference is that Fancies is made from completely rigid lace, while Expression is stretch lace lined with mesh, so the cups have some give.

One big difference I've noticed in Freya's new styles is that their bands are much more TTS. ... Gone are the 28s that feel like 30s . . . this 28E is very snug on me because it's so firm, though the measurement doesn't look unusual. I suspect that they have switched elastic qualities, since the Viva I tried has a similar snug fitting band, despite both styles having short wing heights. This is so snug on me that it'd be more comfortable with an extender to break it in, however there's no issues with wire distortion, so I wouldn't personally go up a band size.

The cups are made from a very unique stretch lace that gives the look of round crochet flowers. It gives off a 70s vibe, especially in the Ruby colorway I purchased, which is more of a wine red than ruby. The upper cup is delicate diamond pattered mesh. Both upper and lower panels are lined with mesh. I find this to be a very nice combination as it gives support but is still stretchy. Since I am currently between sizes 28E and 28F, many of my existing non-stretch 28E Freyas are now too small in the cup. This still works for me, both in the cut and fabrication. The upper edge is trimmed with open mesh elastic, though the elastic is stretchier than the seam connecting it to the upper cup, so tall roots may still feel a bit restricted by the seam rather than the elastic. Note that the wires are basically the same as on the Fancies Plunge as well--on this particular bra, they are a gentle shallow curve with longer sides. Wires are comfortable and have good flexibility.

I don't have much upper inner fullness, so sometimes this Fancies Plunge cut works for me, and sometimes the upper inner cup is really empty on me. Right now it looks pretty good. If you have very little fullness in this area, however, you might want to skip this cut entirely, as the cup will just be baggy and empty in this area. Many of Freya's unlined plunges are designed for a round breast shape with lots of upper inner fullness.

Since the crochet lace is the star of the show, the rest of the styling is kept simple. Straps are wide satin elastic with picot edges and are fully adjustable. There are no bows, simply a folded piece of ribbon at the center gore with a small rose gold hoop charm. For once, I find the metal charm on this style to be appropriate, and add to the vintage vibe. This would've been even lovelier if they had kept rose gold hardware throughout!

Expression is a nice update to a Freya classic. Skip it if you can't stand the Fancies Plunge, but if you're a Fancies lover, give this a try! You may want to size up in the band depending on how current Freya bands fit you.

My shape : pendulous, very projected, short roots, narrow roots but wide set, full on bottom, outer full. Freya Fancies is one of my best fitting bras.
Expression has an unusual fit for Freya. No cups and band on the larger side this time, the band is now true to size with not much stretch, and the cups are slightly on the smaller side of true to size, with good immediate projection but pretty average apex projection. The cups are very closed on top, which is perfect for my short roots, but those with tall roots, full on top or center full will probably get major quad boob ... from this bra. Due to my need for a lot of projection, I get some in cup quad boob, but the general fit is good. The cups give a very rounded shape more typical of Cleo than Freya.
This is a very comfortable and supportive bra. Materials are pretty soft, although lace on the bottom of the cups is a bit bumpy. The cups are fully lined with mesh, unlike many older Freya bras. The bra looks beautiful and classy with its wine red color.
A bra that may fit the full on bottom, short roots or outer full, but if you're used to Freya's generous sizing, you may want to size up in the band, and maybe also in the cup.

I like this bra. Even though it is made of mesh and lace, the construction feels durable and not something you have to handle too delicately. The cup shape is good for my round, close-set, even-fullness boobs. This will work for FOB boobs as it has good immediate projection but I can't imagine this working well for FOT -- the top seam of the cup seems prone to cutting in. This band runs a little tight, especially compared to other Freya bras which I've heard run loose. It feels too tight after I eat a lot or when I'm walking intensely and my ribcage expands. Cup is also TTS, compared to the Freya Love Note which was too big on me. The blue color is not my favorite, nor is the lace pattern that reminds me of my childhood curtains, but it's a good functional bra so I'll keep it.

The most important thing to know about my breasts is that they're very pendulous and the tissue is very soft. I have relatively narrow roots, medium height. They're also splayed and wide-set.

The color of this bra is so striking. I really like the design of Freya bras, and this one is no exception. The three-part construction of the cup is solid, and the contrasting lace of the top section is really visually striking. The top section doesn't have any stretch, so there's a possibility of cutting in or not filling out the cup, depending on your shape and root height. I did okay, though! I really like this bra, although the gore is too narrow for me and it's just a smidge too shallow at the IMF, but the real reason I'm not keeping it is because I hate that the lace at the bottom of the bra isn't pinned to the band, meaning it can easily roll up (and did even as I was just wearing it for try on and photos). She's a beaut, though.

I thought this bra was a but too tight in the beginning, but it is actually very comfortable for me. It’s the first bra I’ve tried where it doesn’t feel like it’s trying to move upward on my back when I wear it. To me it is very comfortable with the low wing height and low gore, it really hits spot in with my shape. It does start to get a bit “rough” after many hours of wear, but I have bought an extender to try and see if perhaps it is only because it will stretch more with use.(Already after it is a bit better, even without ... the extender) I am going to order more from Freya Plunge and see if I can’t find any that are more neutral in fabric for tight tank tops

    A little update.
I have tried their Rio bra, and this one is very similar in fabric and feeling. Sadly the extender was no good for me and it does not seem to stretch very much with wear (I suppose that's a bonus for some)
After wearing it a few times I have noticed that the cup size is a tad small for me and shows a bit of quadboob under my tight dresses. If you like Freya Rio, do try this one
