    28G

    Didn't fit

This bra is sooo beautiful. I have always preferred Freya's aesthetic but sadly there hasn't been a lot of top fullness friendly style. But this bra is close!

This is my first 28G bra. I had been wearing 28FF's but noticed minor quad boobs so decided to size up a cup on this one. My shape is projected, very full on top, full on centre, tall and narrow roots, extremely close-set, soft tissue and self-supporting.

The band initially feels very tight when I first tried it on (after dinner). But I think it runs true to size.

The cups have the top section made with stretch lace (without the annoying elastic ... on the edge) and bottom with mesh. I would say it is pretty top fullness friendly considering I'm not getting any quad boobs. The cups are projected, but not very narrow. So the wires are too wide on both sides, and I'm not filling out the right cup as my right boob is smaller.

I love this color combination and how pretty the lace is.

Overall it's an OK fit for me but I'm worried that I will get picky about it with time (like I did with so many of my other bras, so I have excuses to buy more). But I may very likely keep it because of the appearance.

Wow! This bra looks so pretty on you! The colour is stunning!

    • 3

alisa Thank you! I love the color as well! And surprised the combination works. If this fits better I would definitely get it in the pink cups/ grey dress combination.

    • 3

I looooove Offbeat in both colors that it comes in, but I haven’t quite figured out the right size for me (yet).

It looks like it fits you pretty well!

    • 2

pretty_promise Thank you! It is such a pretty bra. I think it's true to size in the band and cups, but folks with less projection and top fullness may choose to size down.

    • 4

I’ve seen a couple reviews of the Offbeat on here and it always looks very pretty! Convinced me to order one myself :) It looks lovely on you.

    • 3

I also love this bra. The pink / grey is gorgeous too. I'd like to try it, but I'm a bit scared since Freya bras are hit or miss on me. Are the wires firm and supportive or more flimsy?

    • 4

Rozelyna Exciting! I hope it fits!

alisa From the perspective of a smaller band and medium cup (hence not as much volume), I would say the wires are not filmy at all, maybe average to somewhat firm? I don't think it's super firm, but I do feel slightly more pressure from the wires at the bottom of the cups than I'm used to. That may be better after the band is broken in though. I don't need a loooot of support being my size so I've never encountered wires that aren't firm enough.

    • 1

Wondering if the straps bother you? I'm pretty new to the Bra-o-sphere/ABTF community, so I'm still investigating proper fit and styles, but the straps look like they're almost coming off of your shoulders? Yes? No?

    • 2

BraOdyssey Welcome! The straps are fine for me. Maybe I have wider shoulders (?) so I’ve never had straps falling off in my correct size.

    • 1

      kate166, oh okay...cool! : )

    • 2

It's maybe an option for my slightly FoT shape. Thanks for the review!

    • 1

smjwzhan I think it's quite likely to work for slightly FOT shapes :)

    Didn't fit

Honestly, I’m surprised this bra didn’t fit me. I really thought it would based on its shape and how it fit others. I’ve had my eye on it for a hot minute, and finally decided (thank you Pay Day) to scoop one up.

It’s gorgeous. Sooo pretty, looks nice and delicate/feminine yet feels supportive. It has a lovely appearance on. But it’s sadly too small for my bigger boob. It’s quad-boobing quite noticeably.

    Positives:
    • A true to size 28 band from Freya, what a surprise!! 😂 love the fit of the band, perfectly snug.
    • IMMEDIATE PROJECTION!! Look guys, there’s no wrinkling at the bottom of the cup! I’m so ... happy because this hardly ever happens for me (especially in a UK bra!) but it makes it even sadder that the rest of the bra doesn’t fit lol.

    Negatives:
    • Only that the wires are slightly wide, but I would happily ignore this if the rest of the bra fit. But I think the wires would be significantly too wide in a 28J, however, I might still give it a try.

P.S. Some people might find the wires on this bra a bit firm but they’re fine for me.

    28HH

    Fits

My shape: full on top, short roots, high set, very narrow/borderline Omega shaped, space between breasts, very soft breast tissue, pendulous, evenish to somewhat center fullness (5'1, short torso, store a lot of fat in my ribcage)

I've heard a lot of conflicting reports on this bra, so here I am to add more onto that.

I like the Offbeat a lot, actually! Firstly because its material is just so, so soft. It also has a lot of immediate projection, really thick and sturdy straps, and oh my gosh, isn't this colorway just so cute? Matching outfits with pink straps is such a dream!

Most of the conflicting comments about this ... bra I've heard have been regarding the band and the wires. I actually got a 30H and a 28HH to compare, you can see my measurements for the 30H on my page. I liked the 28HH better, and I'd say I agree with the take that this is 'a true to size Freya band!' but I guess kind of with an asterisk? I'm used to 'true to size' meaning more like a half an inch to an inch smaller than whatever the band size is, and this 28HH stretches to 28 inches. Good for me who measures exactly 28 inches around snug, but keep an eye on that regarding where you fall in your band size if you wanna give this bra a try.

The wires on this bra are way, way wide and also really firm. Neither of these things bother me except for some reason the gore was hurting me the first time I wore this bra? I've seen the gore on this bra twist on people with less space between their boobs, so maybe that has something to do with it, but I had to wear it with a bra liner kind of shoved upside down the first time I wore it. After that, it wasn't so bad. I guess the bra just molded to my shape better? I had a similar issue with the sides on my 30H - Panache » Olivia Balconnet Bra (7751) but that took a few wears before it stopped hurting.

Overall, the Offbeat reminds me a lot of a softer, shorter Envy.

wow, thick band and thick straps!
Like, kind of surprising for a 28 band!

    • 1

I've been interested in this one for a while, and "softer, shorter Envy" sold me on it lol. I had an Envy a long time ago, and while it fit well, it was pretty scratchy.

    • 1

Sheena I hope you get a good fit out of it!

    • 1

The first time I saw the duck egg Offbeat, I fell in love with it. The following link to a picture of it's backside was so enticing.

      https://www.bravissimo.com/products/offbeat-bra-fy394/#duck-egg-blue-fy394deb

But, after reading a review from a fellow bratabaser, I saw how tall the wings were, it looked totally different from the backside photo in the above link. For bigger cups, the wings struck me as matronly. I am sure there is a logical explanation for this but regardless, my enthusiasm dropped off a cliff.

This is cute and comfortable. As usual, the gore is too high for me but it’s manageable. I wish this was a two hook bra, as one cup size smaller only has two hooks. Sometimes I find the three hook band to feel cumbersome. I enjoy the pop of color on the straps. The cups for quite well.

    32J

    Didn't fit

When I saw this bra on sale I decided to give 32J a try. Turns out the cups are too small for me in this bra. While I can confirm that Freya usually runs a bit generous in cups and band, I can get away with a 30K in their bras but not any smaller. I also found the wires a bit wide for that it is only a J-cup and assume they be even wider in my regular size 30K. The top section is made of a soft strechy lace. The support wasn't that great. I don't recommend it unless you like softer more natural fit and don't mind it being not so supportive.

    36HH

    Didn't fit

This is a super cute bra that seems like it would be comfortable. I actually tried this on once at a boutique, but it was a band size too small (I think she gave me a 32HH, but I measured more like 34H/HH at the time).

I reeeeally like the colors on both this one and the Earl Grey (pink/blue) one. It’s a full lace cup, which is pretty comfortable as I stated before.

Unfortunately, it’s either a shape mismatch, or I need to try a size down to a 36H. The cups were quite a bit big on me (obviously). The bottom seemed projected enough, though, and ... the gore tacked. It was way to wide on the sides, both with extra fabric but also wide wires that were kinda soft and flimsy. I don’t recall the band being too loose or too tight on this one, but honestly I didn’t make notes at the time and it’s already packed up to go back to Amazon!

Anyway, might try this in a 36H, maybe even a 34HH since I can’t remember if the band was too loose or not.

I had the same impression of the wires being flimsy and the cup being unsupportive, but I was also wearing it a size bigger so it fit me about like this.

    • 2

Adler613 hopefully I’ll get to try this out again in a smaller size! Amazon doesn’t have one of the sizes right now (I think 36H), so I’ll have to wait.

The gore almost overlaps on this one, isn’t that weird? They really are piddly, lol!

    • 2

What a gorgeous bra! I agree it looks a little big in the cup for you but man that pink is so pretty! I'm thinking of trying this one myself. My only other experience at my current size is with Elomi- would you say it's comparably sized? I've been trying 38H, but I think I'm 36HH, so I have an Elomi Kim on the way to try. Thanks for such a detailed review! It really helps!

What a beauty. Ever since I first saw it I wanted it so bad. I finally ordered one from a swedish site with free shipping to try it out. It looks just like the pictures, it's absolutely gorgeous. The colors are perfect. The lace is so nice.

This is a side support type of bra. The entire cup is made of stretch lace lycra. yes, the whole cup is stretchy!!! It doesn't have any additional lining, it's just the lace. It's very soft and lovely, not too stretchy either so you'll still feel supported. The straps are soft too and wide, and for once, they don't feel too wide ... set for me.

I can confirm it does have 3x3 hooks in this size.

The band is very TTS. In my previous experience in ~2014 or something, at around 32FF size, I found Freya to be very stretchy. This one is very good size for me.

on to the negatives. The gore. It doesn't lay flat, it goes sideways or whatever, like it flips over on itself. I know Freya is known to have soft wires in bigger sizes so I assume it's because of this, as well as it's pretty wide. Also it has a bit of a flare to it at the top,

The wires are wide as expected. however I have much less wrinkling than I do in other bras, probably because of the side support style, so for me, it's not that big of a deal actually in this bra.

And finally, sadly and a common occurence for me, I get a fair bit of wrinkling in the bottom of the cup.

I think the biggest dealbreaker for this bra is the gore. If it would lay flat and not flip on it's side, I'd probably keep this (or rather, return this one and order it somewhere cheaper lol because swedish pricing is insane). But yeah. Damn. It's so so beautiful.

    • Boo! What do you think the issue with the gore may be? Buckling from weak wires + heavy breasts? Or too much material / too wide of a gore for more close-set/narrow boobs? Combination?

I had different fit issues with this bra, but mine went back too. It *is* beautiful and it was really comfortable for me, though the wires were very wide for me as well. I would 100% pick this up second-hand later, but for full price I wanted much more uplift and rounding than this could my rather soft tissue. It encased my breast tissue beautifully in the 30J, but the elf slipper shape was too much for my sensibilities at that price point. Better luck next time!

    • I have incredibly close set boobs but most bras I've tried with this high gore do actually sit flat, like, yeah they sit on my tissue sometimes but they don't flop around. I can't remember which one but I know one I tried in the past did this too, I think it was Panache Envy.

I think it's mostly because the wires are so soft and has a weird flare. I'm not too sure. If it sat like, 2 cm lower I think it would have been better and might have worked.

I'm not too fussed about the side shape for myself, it's not "too" pointy for myself but yeah. I might pick this up later if it goes on sale for like half price :P And then maybe try to adjust the gore or something. it's so pretty I can't even

    • Excellent review alidieux , thank you!

I first saw the Offbeat on Bravissimo and the backside view of the band intrigued me. It looks oh so soft yet seems to be structurally strong. Viewing the Offbeat on other sites made the band look weird in comparison. Besides being tts, is there anything else you can say about the band? Oh, and thanks for clarifying the number of hooks.

    • It's pretty soft, silky material, kinda thick and feels sturdy, similar to Elomi Kim's silky cup material. The hooks have like super soft fabric on the inside, it's the softest out of all my bras lol.

For the structure, do you mean like this kind of difference (elomi kim but most of my other bras have the same as Kim) https://i.imgur.com/aMDcIkt.jpg

It has a different shape as well as the "strap" doesn't continue (or whatever to say) on the bra. it's just a normal seam.

    • The band in your photo structurally does not look like the image on Bravissimo and is exactly like what I was seeing on other sites. I wonder how often that happens? Thanks for providing the comparison to the Elomi Kim, they are similar.

    28HH

    Didn't fit

I tried this bra on in a local bra store. The band felt really tight, and I was quadraboobing. I'm usually 28h in Freya but I had to size up to 28HH. I still has some overflow in this one.

The gore doesn't touch my sternum either. The underwire cup isn't too long, and the side of the cup doesn't go into my armpits.

    30E

    Didn't fit

I love this bra visually as it is very pretty. It's an okay fit, but not my absolute best.
I believe I have shorter roots and slightly FOT (or the opposite, tall roots but FOB - I am not sure yet). Either way, I need more upper open-ness than some very closed FOB bras. The 30DD is way way too closed on top and I get quadding. The 30E is better - it may be slightly too shallow and wide, so it is not quite as much of a forward look as bras like the panache ana or the comexim plunges. I am also rather center full, so I ... have to really scoop the tissue away from the gore (my tissue is soft and will just go wherever lol). However, it is still a round look and a comfortable bra, and cute.

This bra runs really snug in the band, so after 2 months I still wear it with one hook on an extender. I don't even use an extender on the Ana, which does run looser, but yes the offbeat SS is very snug. I believe my 30E fits closer to a 28E in how small it runs. I wouldn't mind getting another offbeat eventually in 30E (there's a decadence lime green on amazon that is quite cute) but I want to see if there are better fits out there first.

Update: this bra doesn’t work https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> my center fullness keeps falling under the gore and hurts me. I’ll be selling it

    • You could have short roots and be functionally fob. I am. My root length is approximately 2 inches long by 5.4-5.6 wide.

I cannot see my nipples when I bend over making me full on top, BUT, due to short roots + top emptiness all of my breasts are at the bottom making me functionally fob despite me actually being fot.

If your breasts are low, you have short roots and you're fob from what you described.

Try a more projected bra (polish bras are the most projected imo) and see if that fixes your issue.

You can get comexim at break out bras if you're in the US. Levana is ok for getting ewa Michalak. Bob carries nessa as well
Miseczki carries a bunch of polish bras.

Ewa Michalak CHP is very open on top, SMN sm may be other good choices.
BM is also great for upper breast fullness (get a bra with stretch lace on top/mesh to accommodate top fullness so instead of quadding, it will stretch to you)

For in between shallow and projected you should look at subtille and brands like it.

I adore Rosa Bella (check out her IG) she's amazing no matter your location.

Fantasie would be another brand you could try. And bravissimo.

Start with bras that have play room (the stretch top) before trying bras that aren't stretchy on top and then use bratabase. When you find a good fit, check out others who also wore that bra and try those as well.

    • Oh yes I am most likely FOT/even and slightly FOT with short, narrower roots. When I bend down, my tissue is very round on top and seems to be slightly FOT, but the root is shorter so it makes me more functionally FOB I think?

I actually love comexim! The overlapping gore and seams with padding is quite comfortable for me and allows for projection. I did some trial and error with breakout bras, and 30F fits me best - 30E is a little too narrow and was sitting on tissue, 30FF is too open at the top and seems too tall/scratched my armpits. In 30F, the wires are just right and are just a little past my roots, which seems ideal. I own a plunge and a halfcup and they're some of my most comfortable bras. The halfcup especially, because it is shorter and very open at top but with flexible seams, accounts for my upper fullness without any quadding. The plunges run a little tall but I've been able to figure out which are a little shorter, and will maybe get another eventually if it goes on sale.

I also am interesting in trying Ewa but I have..no clue how to get them in my size. Breakout Bras carries 30F in every bra, but it seems like Levana Bratique only cares Ewa in larger sizes and doesn't account for my small but rather projected bust. I think I'd wear a 70DD in them? People say to move up a band size and keep the cup the same or move up one, I'm a little confused, may need some more research.

And yeah, I've looking into fantasie and bravissimo - apart from the deco, most freya bras have too tall and wide of a gore for me, and don't really work. I've tried like...every freya plunge known to mankind, and all are too wide in the gore.

    • You could try comexim unpadded! Bob has a few 😊 they may work well for you. Try a size down from the padded though 😊 if comexim works well for you, there's no need to swap up unless you just want to! Comexim makes plenty of bras and you can order directly for a lot cheaper if you buy multiple.

Ugh, I dislike this bra. sorry I did not take measurements. It's my understanding Freya used to make decent bras (I'll link a blog post below so you know I'm not making things up, lol) But I know this woman [through her blog, not personally] who liked their bras and wore Freya Phoebe (note: if you google "Freya Phoebe" like I just did now, an actual woman comes up, not a bra) like for 15 years. So, Freya really used to make bras that lasted.

In my opinion, the only people who say "Freya is a quality brand" are shills. (Shills just means they "build credibility about something ... without disclosing they have vested interest.") aka, they are paid to say it's quality. I mean, there are work-from-home jobs where people are just paid to promote online social media bra brands, through reddit and social media. I can't imagine someone who *knows something* about garment construction saying something like this. (although someone with a background in garment construction could be paid to promote Freya, I'll just add this disclaimer. Aka, lingerie marketing firms, but I digress.)

Speaking of shills, I went to a shill social media account that is clearly paid to promote Freya and read that this bra runs small in the cup/band. (Freya's parent company Wacoal-Eveden grossed 1.3 billion last year, they have enough $ to pay lots of "influencers") But other styles in Freya run large in the cup, like the Freya Fancies?? Ugh, his lack of sizing consistency is a sign of a cheap brand. Empreinte runs consistent, that's all I'm saying.

Okay, I'll start with the good points. I love the colour, and the back of this bra is appealing. I like that it has thick straps. The front of the bra, ugh. Even if I went up one cup, it still is not going to work. The shape of the cup is too wide. It pushes my breasts down. The fabric is cheap and totally unappealing. I couldn't wear this bra for more than 10 minutes, the cheap fabric was bothering me so much. I could scrub the floor with this bra? I could use the coarseness to really make it shine? Idk. But I wouldn't pay $64 cad (that was how much I paid on amazon).

Obviously, the brand doesn't work for me. Brands that I like that actually are quality (and work for a narrow & projected shape) in my bra size : Empreinte, Comexim , Comexim- Sold By Breakoutbras , Ewa Michalak , Other Polish brands like Kris Line and Nessa

Here is the link to the blogger discussing how Freya has changed https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/comments/3n17oh/comment/cvjxtb9/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 I don't know if it was since 2011 that the brand has "cheapened out" that's when the brand was bought out, I wouldn't consider Freya, Fantasie, or Elomi a UK brand. It's made in China. The company headquarters are in Japan.

Thank you for this review! I always liked the look of this bra, but I think I will skip it. I found most Freya bras I tried over the years flimsy and not very good, the sizing was often inconsistent and not enough support in large cups. I think they have a cult following because the Deco is their best selling bra and very popular but I don't see other bras mentioned a lot. btw the absolute worst was 30K - Freya » Starlight Side Support Bra (5201) the fit awful and fabric like sandpaper on the skin!
