At this point, I am confused as to why the 28E fits better than the 28DD<- which supposedly runs large thus I would need a 28D! I'm thinking probably because the wires are much wider, and my boobs are kinda wide for their size.
What I love most about the Freya Deco is that it lifts the bust super high and you get an incredible shape from the side. From the front they look good, but I wouldn't say great because if you like wearing tight fitting shirts and have smaller busts, the deco sort of pushes everything to the center, thus looks kind of strange because there's no extra padding at the sides to balance out the shape.
Overall it's a great bra and I recommend it to larger (narrow - average width) and smaller (definitely narrow) breasts.
Upon opening up the box to see the Freya bra I had just ordered...I was PRAYING that the cups wouldn't be too big. My first reaction was, "These cups look too deep for me!" I tried it on to find that the band is made several sizes too large, I immediately had to start it on the smallest hook. (Band isn't a huge issue since I usually have to alter bands anyway)
The cups seemed too big at first. There was a lot of gaping at the top so I tried to adjust myself accordingly, tightening the straps and scooping all my tissue in. My ...larger side seems to fit pretty good in it and there is a teeny bit of gaping for my smaller boob (Also not a big deal).
The only huge problem I had was that was that center gore came up really really high, and it was severely uncomfortable there. I will probably need to chop the wires off this area in order to wear it...
The shape I'm getting is incredible, so I'm definitely going to keep it.
The bra is gorgeous with the stripped pink pattern and bow details. I purchased this on clearance from Bare Necessities. Read more 102 more words
This bra in 28 E was way too tall for me too. I have never had a plunge bra that was this small in the bottom and this tall and too open on top for me. IMO this bra was different than othrr plunges. I liked the Curvy Kate elegance in 28FF a lot better. The only reason I returned the CK Elegance is because it was a cup size too small.
I've altered the center gore on this bra so that the wires just touch in the middle, as I do with every bra.
This bra gives me the most amazing rounded shape, and it's definitely my workhorse bra. It's quite comfortable, and I don't find myself adjusting much at all. The band could be smaller (but I'm a 26-27" ribcage, so it's not the bra's fault), and I usually wear it on the tightest hook. I plan on adding extra elastic to it when I have a sewing machine.
I didn't find the cup height to be bothersome (many women say they're too tall), but I have a fairly long torso. Obviously I found the gore to be too long, but my breasts almost touch in the center, so that's true of every bra.
I had to order this on short notice to wear with a strapless dress. It works well as a strapless and seems to fit well enough (although a part of the underwire is HUGELY painful and leaves a horrible mark even after wearing it for just a few hours).
However, when worn with the straps, my boobs are fighting to escape the thing--tissue spilling out over the top and sides and smooshed together in the middle--not attractive. I'm wondering if I'd be better served by a 28F or even FF, except I'm not sure how that'd affect the wear as a strapless, and I can't exchange it now. I just wish I could wear it with the straps, because it's just about useless to me as it is. So painful!
It is an absolutely gorgeous bra, though. I love the detailing.. oooh the velvet. Got a lot of compliments in the dressing room. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Another Lyla! This time in a cup size up since I've grown! I got this bra from a listing here on bratabase! Woohoo! I still love this bra.
This bra has great shape, very comfy, and is invisible under all my shirts. My first one in a 28DD is probably about a year old now and if I could still wear it I would be since the band is still going strong on the middle hooks. Profile isn't super rounded but not overly pointy either. I can wear this bra all day and it never pokes/moves/shifts.
This bra and the Arabella seem to just be perfect matches to me and my shape no matter how big my boobs are.
Just had to say that I love my Lyla too! I tend to wear it under tshirts because of the great shape it gives me (my breasts aren't fans of moulded cup bras)
Good Points- I got this bra on ASOS in the sale after reading a good review on a lingerie blog. I absolutely love the colours! Dusty baby pink with an aubergine purple and dark pinky/purply details. I also love how thick the wings of the bra are! Pulls in any back fat or migrated breast tissue from wearing the wrong size!
Bad Points- Now, as soon as I put this bra on, I could tell that the band would be a problem. I have tried Freya 'Cindy' and found it to be very tight so was not expecting this! The band is super stretchy and is more like a 30 band ...vs a 28 band. This in my opinion is why the bra was a fail for me! Because I lacked support in the band I had to tighten the straps all the way which made the bra ride up. The result was zero support and breasts up to my neck!
Conclusion- I would recommend getting a 28 band if you are usually a 30 and not to bother if you are a 28 who likes firm bands! I adore the shape and style which is the classic Freya plunge (opaque patterned fabric followed by a sheer cup at the top) and so am definitely going to buy some other styles and see how they compare! Strange fit for me, but keep in mind that I am still trying to find my correct size. The cups are very tall, and I don't fill the top of them at all, there is a lot of wrinkling. BUT, my nipples are noticeably squished in and flattened in a weird way, which is really unattractive since the bra is sheer. Also, even though I can fit a few fingers under the band, the underwire hurt my ribs just wearing it for a few minutes (I am bony), and the center gore came up much too high on me to be at all comfortable. Back to the drawing board!
This bra is just amazing. I needed a strapless bra - I tried on a lot off bras, but this was the only one that fitted well enough. It gives a great shape and it holds everything in place, even after 6 hours wearing - but after the whole day wearing it gets a bit uncomfortable (as every strapless bra, because off the silicon stripes on the band). And my asymetry is not visible in this bra. I recomend it to everyone who needs a perfect strapless bra.
Felt pretty uncomfortable when first put on, underwire digs in, but this does ease off. Very, very supporting and lovely shape. Makes me look quite 'booby' though! Good cleavage. Great under t shirts, seamless and soft.
This bra is really cute. It's a charcoal colour with pink flowers. The cups are unlined transparent mesh which makes it really sexy as well. I really like the pink embroidery and ribbon at the tops of the cups, although it would probably show under t-shirts and the like.
The band fits similarly to all the Freya bras I have, which means it fits great. I thought this would fit like my other Freyas, but I actually found the cups tight at the top, I was getting the double boob effect. Of course the bottoms of the cups fit fine which makes this a little frustrating.
The thing I really liked about this bra was the fabric choice; I like the beige, blue and orange colours together.
The fit didn't work for me; the band fit great as usual but the cups were an issue. I'm not sure if it's the size or the way the cups are shaped, but the tops of the cups were definately cutting into me.
I also had this problem with the 28F size, although the cups were too big, the tops of them were definately snug against me. If my breasts were large enough to fill the 28F size, I think I would probably run into the same problem.
The cups on these were slightly too big for me. Not really baggy, but lots of wrinkling at the tops and even at the sides of the cups. Even though the cups were too big for me, the way it's cut, it still gave a slight flattening shape.
The cups still stick out at the top. I was hoping by getting the larger cup, the fabric would go out around the breast and then come back in at the top... No such luck. This bra is obviously for someone with a very round shape (think overfilled water balloons).
*** Update *** I tried this bra on again today just to be sure. Interestingly, I found that when I put the straps waaaaaay out to the ends of my shoulders, the cups suddenly fit and didn't stick out. So perhaps this bra isn't so much for super round breasts as I thought (because mine aren't!). Could be that my shoulders are just a tad too narrow for this particular style. This would be such a cool bra if it fit properly!
Really nice quality, material feels thick and substantial. Band feels very supportive. Minimal lace, nice detailing, smooth. Unfortunately the cups were too small. Had spillage. This one will be exchanged for a 28F. I think I'll love it in the correct size.
