This bra is...well, big. It's very high-coverage and the wires are very wide. The starting point of the cup (where the bow is) is practically on top of my shoulder and there's a lot of fabric and underwire in my armpit, which is uncomfortable. The center gore is also fairly high and wide. The straps are extremely long and far apart. Everything is just...big. Tall and wide. It's like the bra was built for someone who's seven feet tall.
Like most Freya bras, it gives you a lot of space at the bottom of the cup and relatively little on top. If you're full on top, this might produce ...empty space at the bottom and cutting in at the top; if you're full on the bottom, it might create duck's-beak boobs. On me, the shape is lifted, minimized, not exactly round but less pointy than Freya's other balconettes, and also slightly east-west due to the overly wide cups. It's not awful, but it's not brilliant either.
On the plus side, the high-coverage, high-closure, made-of-stiff-fabric cups give good support. This is helped by the thick, wide straps and the wide band, which is not too stretchy (although it runs very large — this 28 is actually a 32). There are things about this bra that aren't quite perfect, but it is as close as I will get. I'd like the band to be tighter, but that is just wishing for a 26 band. Just like some other Freya 3 part cups I get a tiny wrinkle on one side. The cups itself fit good, but as I have implants and not a lot of natural tissue the may wrinkle a little bit. The center gore barely works for me. I have hardly any spacing between my breasts. So I'd prefer a lower center, but I know that is asking for too much.
6 month check in after an entire year of searching and finally finding a replacement for 30DD fearne at a smaller measurement, which was not the business.
Fearne in this size has much wider elastic straps which are heavily reinforced along full length so stretch is limited to about half the full potential. The underwires are a low set short, wide U shape and moderately stiff, there's still a good bit of give to them compared to Panache wires. On the whole this style feels fuller than my bravissimo mae or marguerite, which feel moreso than fantasies' elodie and estelle
The depth of the cup is the most ...interesting aspect of this bra. It's made from a bonded satiny poly fabric which is smooth and non irritating, it has no mechanical give in it whatsoever. There's a slight side support feel to this style and is more 'open' or roomy in the immediate inch out from the wire that I personally find to be a great relief as cups which are flattening or vaguely conical in build don't work at all with my hard breasts' or how their roots protrude directly outward from chest wall. Band runs loose; it fits me quite comfortably and I'm usually a 30. Cups are too tall at the sides, and there's a lot of extra fabric where the top of the cup meets the strap (which is a little wide for me). The underwire could probably be a smidge narrower. The shape looks good from the front, but from the side and 3/4 view it oddly flattens the apex of my bust. The underwire slides just the tiniest bit down from my IMF, which makes me suspect there's not enough projection.
The pattern overall is very cute, and I'm considering buying a cup size down, but a little torn still.
This is a pretty and fun alternative to a plain black bra. It has purple lace trim and a purple bubble print.
I like that this bra fits tight, the band stays put and keeps my breasts held up high. Unfortunately the cups are a small and I quad at the top. I can still wear this bra if I want pretty cleavage and a shirt doesn't fit tight to show the quadding. If I order this model again I would get a larger band and cup.
When I was thinner these were my #1 bras. They're far too tight for me now, and they were always a bit too wide in the wire for me, but otherwise the cups fit well and were very supportive.
There is a piece of flexible boning in the band (4.25" high) and there is about half an inch between it and the wire at the top of the band. It marks the end of the lace construction and the more elastic back of the band.
I loved these bras once, hence why I have 2 completely unworn ones (I went crazy during a HerRoom sale and bought half a dozen at once).
If they fit they will support you really well, without being bulky. I always thought they were very pretty, and the seams on the lace were fairly unobtrusive under clothing.
Not a 100% perfect fit (wires are wider than necessary, and it could use a little more immediate projection), but...really close! No quadding and no or minimal gaping (I don't count any gaping under straps and tightening the strap on the smaller side fixed the non-strap gaping on that side). I might even get another in nude.
My shape is wide set, splayed with outer fullness, which might be exactly what this bra wants. Otherwise, even and vertically short, for the important shapes, but I think these are less important for this particular bra. My 'base size' is more of a 30GG, but I went with the 28H going by reviews commenting that the black colorway ran large in the band, and glad I did.
The wires on this size (28H) were too wide for me (as in too wide to be wearable/comfortable), and not sure if it's the too-wide wires, a side effect of having a v-shaped and rounded torso, or if 28H is more shallow than 28GG (or I got a dud in one of the two sizes, which is throwing off my reviews). Despite that this should be the better size...there's not enough immediate projection in bottom of the cup, especially for my smaller (but more projected) side. Where it's cutting in is actually painful. If I knew bending the wires to make them follow my torso ...would fix the issues at the bottom of the cups, I might have kept it.
The puckering is just from a shape incompatibility, I think, and seems to be a pretty common issue. There isn't as much extra space there as it looks, and the 28GG (which was clearly at least a little too small in the cup!) also puckered in the same spot. I think the cups are just too tall for my short (vertically) breasts. Gem may also be cut or fit a tad big in the cups, as I know I've seen mentioned. Not a lot, but if you're in-between, you might consider sizing down--do look at measurements, though. The band also lives up to reviews as running a band-size big, and why I tried 28 bands.
So far, Cleo Kali in 30GG has been my 'best' fit, although it's meant more for FOB shapes and I'm more even (which is one reason I tried this bra--Gem is supposedly geared more toward even/FOT). Shape-wise, if it helps others, my breasts are wide set, splayed with outer fullness, and again seem to be more 'even' as far as a bra is concerned. Read more 198 more words
This bra is just awful! Freya made a huge manufacturing flaw. The cups are over 7 inches wide - it's really more underwire than anything else. The problem is that freya scaled up smaller cup sizes and plopped them on a tiny band rather than, y'know, making a bra that fits people. Do not buy!
This is a really pretty bra. Lined with nude nylon except for the top lace section. Seem to have a really firm band for a Freya. Shape is a little pointy the way most Freyas are. It was too big for me and cups too wide.
I'm kind of disappointed in this bra. I really like the look of this bra, however it just isn't very comfortable. I've only worn it once, so far, so I am going to give it a chance to break in before deciding if I will sell it. Unlike most Freyas, the band on this one is not very stretchy at all. I can fasten it on the first set of hooks, but it is pretty tight. It's not too tight to wear, but I'm hoping it will loosen up a bit with some more wear. The gore is a good height and ...seems a little closer than the Faye, but for some reason it is digging into my chest, which may be as a result of the tightness of the band. The cups fit really well, especially for my larger breast (there is a some wrinkling in the cup of my smaller breast), but it gives me kind of a pointy shape that I'm not sure if I like. Also, the straps are set so far apart on this bra. I have to keep adjusting to stop it from digging into my armpits. It's not very easy to adjust the length of the straps either, but they do adjust to a good length. The thing I dislike the most is that there are only 2 hooks on the back instead of 3. I really prefer 3 hooks on my bras. I wonder is some these fit issue might actually be fixed if I try this in 30GG instead of 28H. Read more 165 more words
I actually love this bra. I was really unsure of it when I saw it online. I spent ages looking at reviews before deciding to go for it. Thanks to brasihatelove 's review on her blog, I decided to go for it. I'm glad I did because it's a perfect fit and very comfortable. It definitely looks better in person than online. It's cute and reminds me of a rainy day in winter, but in a good way. Definitely reminds me of rain. I found it for under $35 on Amazon, and I love it so much I'm thinking about buying the 'nude' color as well since it's pretty close to my olive-y skin tone. It's pretty adorable. I know people have mixed feelings on it, and it definitely won't work for everyone, but I think it's fairly universal in fit. E.G., BIHL is full on top and it fits her quite well, whereas I am definitely full on bottom, and it fits me quite well also.
I also have this bra in 28GG beige. Again, the band is very stretchy, so I am already using the second set of hooks and I've only worn this twice, so far. The projection is great for my shape. The cups fit my larger breast perfectly, but there is a bit of wrinkling in the top of my smaller breast. The cups are much fuller on this size than the GG and as a consequence they start much higher on my breasts, which I don't really care for, but this fits well. The gore is slightly taller in this size, as well, which causes slight digging into my chest when I am in certain positions. The only other thing is that the straps are set wider apart on this size so I get very slight pressure in my upper armpits, but nothing a little adjustment won't fix.
I really like the black with the pattern on it and the material is very comfortable. I do wish I had ordered this in the 28GG, but this will definitely work.
The shape is wrong for me in every way. That makes it hard to tell for sure, but the cup is probably one size too big. The band feels tight because the wires dig in which could mean that it's a size too small, but is probably the right size.
I have been gradually working my way up in cup size, after realizing from viewing all the bra blogs out there, that my cup size was too small.
I have been wearing a Freya Deco 28 GG, after going up from a 28 G...but with the 'scooping' technique, I was getting a 'quad boob' on my right boob which is a size bigger than the left one...so I knew the 28 GG cup increase was still too small https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />...and I was SO gutted to find Freya don't make any bigger cup size in this bra!! (why not Freya when you make ...your other 28 bras with bigger cup sizes and the Deco is so popular!?) It is the only bra that has given my soft tissue, bottom heavy boobs any 'up lift'!
I had always found the Freya Deco strap a bit too stretchy (I measure 27" under my bust)...so after some research on Bratabase I worked out the 'Rio' in a 28 H might fit okay as the strap is quite tight for a 28" strap.............
Well, the Rio's strap is tight! That is great for me as there's no slipping up my back...stays firmly in place, though the tightness would need some getting used to.
The bra DOES fit...covers all my breast tissue after scooping...no quad boobs....BUT the result is a bra that fits but gives a horrible FLAT shape!! ...No nice rounded lifted shape under clothes, no cleavage...by the way this is the same problem I have found with the Bravissimo Satine bra (fits, but no nice shape..flat!) and Curvy Kate bras.
