  1. Fancies Plunge Bra (1011)

I bought this bra for one reason. It's yellow. Not neon yellow... a nice, soft, lemon yellow, and there is a serious lack of yellow bras on the market that might fit someone with projection. I intentionally picked a 30 band because gateway backs tend to make me look like the Michelin man. I was hoping to avoid having 4 back rolls and this band accomplishes that while still staying secure on the middle hooks.

I've gathered from reviews of the Fancies padded half cup longline that it's a generally terrible bra with very flexible wires and zero projection. Thankfully I can report the ... unlined plunge version is much sturdier. I'm aware a lot of Freya plunges require a very specific shape and I expected this to wrinkle at the apex while cutting into my upper root but it really doesn't do that. In all honesty, this is one of my better technical fits which was a sweet surprise. It's not as comfortable as an Ewa or even a CK, but it is Freya and I didn't expect the world here. Very narrow wires, very good immediate depth. Very wide gore. I'm splayed and it's short so it doesn't bother me although if it was any taller it would and it would bother a lot of people who are close-set all the way to the IMF. The gateway back is fun and a little more delicate to look at so I've let it show with strappy back shirts without feeling like I'm telling the world HEY, HERE'S MY BRA BAND.

I know this bra, with its wide keyhole gore and single hook band, isn't gonna be everyone's cup of tea. But it satisfied my craving for a pastel yellow summery bra on the cheap via Amazon so I'll keep it around.

Looks great on you! It is indeed a nice soft yellow for summertime too.

    • That is very cute!

      What is a gateway back?

    • Thank you! I feel like my pics don’t do the color justice, the light in my room kinda sucked lol

Sovavosi its a bra band with a split back... hard to explain. Others may have posted pics of the back of this bra, I did not because I have a good size identifiable tattoo on my back I can’t really edit out. Gossard did a lot of bras this style, the Phoebe comes to mind and I know there’s pics of its back on here

    • Thank you, I found a picture. I was having trouble trying to Google this term :)

    • It's lovely on you!

    • This makes me want to try this bra again in 30E. It's so pretty.

    • Gorgeous! I like several of the colors Freya offers in this style, but the gore and narrow wires....ouch. Thrilled this beauty works for you!

    • Just tried this on in black in a sister size... I really like it, but doesn't quite fit my FOT shape! Glad it worked for you, I love the fabrics. :)

    • 1

Fancies comes in so many cute colors, but I think this is one of my favorites! Sadly it didn't work for me - gore was much too wide and the elastic at the top of the cups cut in.

When I first saw the Vixen, I loved its look and immediately thought (or wished?) it could be a perfect fit for me. And it is! Thanks to annabellynn who made this possible via exchanges.
It seems like Freya designs some of their plunges specifically for my shape with narrow & deep features. The fit is similar to Arabella or Oh la la. I read comments and reviews which were mentioning the cups being too closed on top, but this doesn't interfere with the fit on me, despite my tall roots. When wearing it I feel as if I weren't wearing a bra at all, but my breasts are simply lifted by a magic force! So it must be magic. And it seems the force is with me, too. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

Looks gorgeous on you!! I so wish I could find a Freya Plunge that fits, but they are too deep when the cup is finally wide enough. Sigh.

    • Thanks Love4Pollinators! Yes, the unpadded Freya plunges tend to be deep. You might have better luck with their half cups.

    • 1

My new fav, too! Freya plunges are amazing!

    • 1

So cool that it works for you! Yay!

    • 1

The measurements on this look really nice. I've never liked freya because I've always gotten a pointed semi droopy shape but now I'm wondering if I just needed to size down

    • 1

revisa I think the newer model plunges don't fit as pointy on me as the older ones.

My first 30 band!! (Although I will say, it seems a bit large to me for a 30 band, but anyway.) My bust shape (I think) is slightly shallow on top, wide, tall roots with full sides. This bra is mighty mighty comfortable, however, it is not actually padded but instead lined. Not a real deal breaker for me, but just a general heads up. Unfortunately, the cups wrinkle slightly at the top. I am uncertain if this is because I am not super full at the top of my bust, or if I need a smaller cup size, or if its the result of the bra being rather smushed in its packaging.

Looks gorgeous on you! I used to worry about top of cup wrinkles, but no more. I'm shallow on top, too. If it is comfortable despite the few wrinkles, wear it proudly :-)

    • 3

Looks like an excellent fit!! :)
To me, the wrinkles look like strain lines, rather than empty space, how they're angling toward the straps. Could be due to the straps being too tight. The band is arching up in the back in the center, and there are some pretty hard divots in your shoulders where the straps are. If you loosen the straps, do the wrinkles go away and does the band stay parallel to the floor?

    • 2

Love4Pollinators thank you so much! When I first saw the wrinkles I was thinking oh dang! Back it goes, but you're right. It may not be as much of a calamity as I was thinking
Slava-Zone, thank you for pointing out my straps! They are way too tight! When I loosened them, there was still a some wrinkling, but I'm now thinking that it may not be an indicator of a horrible fit. Also noticing it fits better on the tightest band for me. Seems a bit big for a 30 band.

    • 1

i've noticed that Freya bras run large in the band. I usually wear a 32 band in other bras, but wear a 30 in Freya. maybe going down a band size to a 28, keep the cup volume, and loosen the straps. i have a great difficulty finding straps that don't dig in, even after loosening them a ton. if the straps don't hurt then yay! :)

    • 1

i thought freya in general was a stretchier brand. If you look at bras here in your size you can look at the stretched band measurement and see which ones run tighter/looser. also, most (decent, imported) brands consider 'padded' to mean lined with light foam, not the push-up-style padding that most US stores seem to like.

    • Moriko thank you so much for letting me know! I'll try a 28 and see what happens!
Dbmamaz good to know! I was all 'this itty-bitty lining is padding?!' I've got so much to learn I see

    • actually in my size a lot of them are only lined on the bottom half of the cup, too. or bottom 2/3. the top panel is not lined at all

    • Ended up taking the band in 2 inches and it fits like a dream! No more wrinkling at the top!!

This bra was a happy surprise! I was looking for a nude seamed cup bra that wouldn't show too much under clothing, and I really wasn't expecting this to fit the bill. I only tacked it on to my amazon order because it was eligible for free returns.

This bra is sooooo comfy! It's also the prettiest bra I own. My only grievance is that the band is really big. I can wear it comfortably on the tightest hook right now, so I'll probably have to alter it eventually. The bra gives a nice rounded shape to my breasts. Even though there's lace and seams, it doesn't show too much under clothing. The bra is also quite a bit darker than my skintone, but it disappears under my white t-shirts. I'm so excited to have found this bra!!

I used to LOVE my Freya bras, even though they weren't a perfect fit. They gave a nice rounded look and I could wear most of them every day, though there were a couple that had seams which might show under a thin shirt. They were great bras. My favorites were discontinued. If you love the fit, I would definitely order another one in the same or a similar style so you have a backup.

    • You say "used to". May I ask, what changed? Did you find a brand that fit better?

    • 1

I liked the Freya Marvel and the Freya Patsy. As my size increased, I couldn't get them anymore because they were discontinued. The newer styles seemed to be a different cut and didn't work well for me. I think I might have sized out now, but I'm not sure.

    • I see. That's too bad! I haven't tried Marvel, but Patsy didn't work out too well for me.

I am close-set with immediate projection and shallow tall roots. This bra fit almost perfectly expect for the gore, its too wide and too tall. Depending on my activity/posture the gore can be very painful but usually is not too bad. The cups have excellent immediate projection. Depending on how I am standing the top of the cups collide with my tall roots and cause some wrinkling. I ideally need bra with balconette cups like this (lower apex and shorter cups) but a true plunge gore. Bought this bra in cup size smaller then usual because according to measurements 30E seemed ideal. I think I could use a pinch more room but a 30F would be to big. The band is stretchy so I will have to alter it in a couple months. Appearance wise I do not really like this bra. It remind me of a girly orange camouflage. I wish it was just flowers and not the black stripes.

  6. Deco Charm Moulded Plunge Bra (1471)

I've been waiting forever for this bra!
I found it at Nordstrom rack a few months ago for $30-40, and have been slowly acquiring money, when I found it on Amazon for $20.
This is the BEST fitting bra, next to my new Vibe. Even my Freya longline doesn't fit this spot on. And the shape it gives is perfect.
I was liking more of the unlined, upslope shape before I lost some shape/boob due to hormone changes, so the Decos have been my go-to's through this.
Otherwise, the Freya Rio fit very well, but was highly uncomfortable and scarred me.

I'd recommend this bra to someone with narrow and maybe average ... roots, average projection, and ..idk shape, I'm about even and this fits fine. Sometimes have trouble with closed tops, other times the tops are too large for me, but I have an uncommon shape.
The design of this bra is gorgeous. It was love at first sight https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" /> I love the detailing on the cups and straps, and the vibrant color.
This is also good for boobs that need up front and centered cups, which I need after I'm lifted. The gore isn't too wide at all, and the cups don't taper to the sides up top, or have gapping, like the Deco Honey.
I honestly can't wait to buy more of these and the Vibes. They're perfect, and, having been so depressed due to shape/volume loss and still fitting into the Charm and Vibe, finding these bras makes me sooo happy again.

I also apologize for my lack of photo editing/cropping and..spottyness.As I said, major hormonal changes. And I'm in a rush but wanted to post pictures of this because it's perfect https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":p" />
I'll add measurements for this and the Vibe later.

Never apologize for photo quality, Queequeq0925. We all appreciate timely, detailed, illustrated reviews. I was wondering how you were doing with bras after the startling news that Freya Rio scarred you!

    • 1

learningaboutbras I'm happy ti hear that, and thank you ^_^

I'm doing well with bras. A few days after wearing the Rio was a bit painful, but it lessened up and I don't have any lasting issues.
I just wore looser bands for a week so the cups wouldn't be up against where I'd been cut.

Funny thing is, the band of the Rio is way too stretchy, but also somehow too tight, so there was minimal support on the tightest hook. I think betweem tightness/lack and I guess super sturdy wires and material, it just doesn't seem to be a good thing to place on your skin!

The scarring has lessened though, and I haven't had any problems like that with any other bras :)

This is a really gorgeous bra, but I am very sad to say that it’s not a good fit for me, and altering it would only fix some of the problems. The gore is too wide, as are the cups, and the cups are too tall and open. The band is fine, I think, and the cup material was nice, as is the colour and embroidery. It’s going back though, along with the Fancies which also does not fit. I almost decided to keep it because it was so cheap but it doesn’t seem to work under my clothes well, and it’s too nice to have under my blah work shirt and sweater. I did rather return them both and try something else.

I'm sure you can find a better fit. I don't have much upper fullness (and I have short roots), and I have a hard time finding bras that aren't too tall on me. Check out my profile if you need ideas of bras to try. You'll see how they all fit me as I have pictures posted.

    • 1

Wilderness1 Thanks. Because I have soft malleable tissue, it can look like I have upper fullness in some styles, but I really don't. I do think that if this bra was less wide and the cups were a smidge shorter, it would fit better. I'm going to see what works for you. Thanks. I'll check out your profile.

    • I am in your size range so I couldn't resist reading your review. This bra is SO pretty - it's a shame it's not a great fit. This exact same thing happens to me if cups are even slightly too deep: the cups gape and look like they're not filled at all. Sometimes if I then go down a cup, I "overflow" and get quad boob galore. I wonder if this bra would work if you go down a cup size? I think you could possibly go down a band size as well...the straps are way too far apart for you. My "@Freya Size" is 28DD without fail. It sounds ridiculously small, but Freya seems to have long bands and deep cups. Freya is not the best fit for me, either, but I find it impossible to resist some of their beautiful bras.

    • ShaniSunAZ Hi! Thanks for your input. I have considered a band and cups change. I think that I might be able to swing a 28 in this one, but I'm not sure if I can swing a cup size down. Pretty sure I would overflow. Besides, two main issues are the gore being too wide and the cups are just a smidge too tall. And I don't think that the size down would affect the cup width enough, because I'm center full anyway, with soft tissue, and not likely to fill the sides still. But you never know, if if find a super cheap 28E/F, I might try it again. But it's not a priority for me right now.

I am really surprised by how this deco fits and how it feels! I've tried couple of standard decos with wires and while trying them I was so impressed, then after 1 hour I couldn't stand bra on my body. Was painful all over the arms due to its big and wide cups.
However, nothing like that occurs in this one! I was sceptical to try it but decided to give it a go as it was in decent price as for used one.
The band is snug, I can easily close it on loosest set but for more comfort I've used extra row from the extender. The band ... feels really comfy, especially that I'm very annoyed recently about everything and nothing (that is why today I've decided to put on sale my loved fortnight and other lace longline bra).
The strap placement is not very bad, acceptable and doesn't bother me but would prefer slightly narrower.
Cups are on the wide side, my boobs escape to the side a little but still I get decent cleavage! I have quite narrow but not extremely roots, and I find the width 13cm to be perfect, but this bra does well with wider cups. Definitely this bra is way better than Gossard! No quad boobs and no empty space. Succes achieved !
I must truly admit - this is one of the comfiest bras I have ever tried ! I wished Freya offers more colours in this style https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

I love the soft cup as well! When I asked for more colours on reddit some time, someone told me that the cut of Freya's soft cup triangle bikinis is very similar. They are available in many colours, i found lots of older styles on ebay. Only downside is they're halterneck, but I sewed the straps to the back band and that works :)

  10. Starlet Vertical Seam Bra (1061)

I changed the underwires of my 30E - Freya » Starlet Vertical Seam Bra (1061) for longer and more flexible ones. Turns out, my instinct was right! The new wires turned Starlet from a torture device into a very comfy bra that fits perfectly.

Old underwires: width 12,3 cm / length 22,8 cm / sturdy
New underwires: width 13,5cm / length 23,8 cm / flexible

How this affects the fit of the bra:
    - The cups became wider and slightly more shallow.
    - The new wires stretch with the band, so the band is a few cm longer now. Since the band doesn't have a lot of stretch to it, it ... fits more comfily this way.
    - The underwires don't poke at all - neither under my arms nor at the center gore. I'm happy.
    - There was fabric sticking out under the arms because the old ones were too short. This is now fixed.

I wish Freya would use more flexible underwires in the smaller cup sizes by default, as those sturdy ones often feel restricting and uncomfortable on people with small boobs or bony ribcages.

    • Where did you get the new wires?

    • Vadaslava I got them at an onlineshop in my country that's selling sewing and dessous making supplies :)

    • Vadaslava It's always a good idea to check out local sewing supply shops and department stores first! But in the case of the Starlet, the wires they sold there would not fit, so I went for an online shop with a larger variety in wire shapes and sizes.

    • Wait, that's a thing?! How did I not think of this? Thank you! I'm definitely going to look into this!

Very nice! Since it's coming out in a black colorway, I may pick one up again at some point. I'll definitely keep this in mind if the wires are still stiff and pokey.

Having worn a 34B for years, sometimes 32B/A or 34A, and even 36A, depending on what was available in the style I liked, I read a few articles online which prompted me to measure myself whereupon I realised I had been wearing the wrong size for years. Based on my new findings I ordered a Cleo Zia along with a couple of other similar balconnet bras from Bravissimo in 32D. The fit wasn't perfect so I went to the store where I decided to have a proper fitting - the assistant took one look at the Zia and told me it was too ... small. Based on my shape she recommended Freya Patsy amongst others and I can truthfully say it is the most comfortable, best-fitting bra I have ever owned - I now have it in three colourways. I tried 32DD first but the band was too big and I now wear 30E in different brands, @Cleo and @Lepel, and, as long as it's a style which suits me, find that this is right for me.

I tried this bra on in Nordstrom's. It was really comfortable but even after scooping all my breast tissue into it, there was a large gap between the top of my breast and the bra. The saleswoman said that this bra fit me perfectly, and that's how the Deco bra is supposed to fit but I doubt that. There's no way I could wear that bra with such an obvious gap!

  13. Frankie Plunge (4581)

The Frankie Plunge bra by Freya is such an absolute favourite of mine that I am considering buying it again now that it has starting to stretch a bit, perhaps in black.

I bought this bra back in 2011 when it was sold with an amazingly cute silky shorts. At that time, my breasts were slightly bigger and I got the wrong size so the cup cut in my flesh, gave me subtle quadraboobs and was painful after a while. My breasts also looked very pointy and odd so my review was less enthusiastic.

Why do I love this bra?

    1- It's a seamed bra.
While not everyone is fond of ... seamed bras, I find them better for many reasons: they give great support, it is easier to notice when they don't fit, they are more suited for my breast shape (more tubular than shallow and wide), it is easier to adapt them to asymmetrical breasts (by tightening one strap) and they have no padding at all.
I also have no worries about my nipple showing because I find that it's not that noticeable in this bra.

2- It changed the way I perceived bras because it looks so awesome.
The Frankie plunge is neither your typical white tshirt bra nor your typical sexy black-and-red lace bra.
As a French woman, I find that the typical bras for adult women are either the big molded bras I hate (in black, white or beige) or the sexy bras (padded or not) with lots of lace, mostly the same. When I saw this one, which is original without looking too childlike, I fell in love with it and thought: what the hell? I'm gonna buy bras that are cool, funny and sexy at the same time because I'll like them and because I'm a funny girl!

With its colourful polka dots, nice silk fabric and see-through top, this bra is quite unique, fun and good looking. The best part for me is that it is not so visible under white clothes, I use the same layering as I do with my Freya Jolie and nobody notices the details.

    3- The shape is nice.
As I said, I have breasts that have more projection that width, they are more round than pointy but a bit squishy. I find that this bra respects my natural shape while enhancing it and supporting my breasts. I don't find the shape to be too pointy, but it's not perfectly round either. This bra is not the bra that gives me the most projection, but the cup is full everywhere and my breast tissue isn't pushed into a weird shape, which is all I could ask for.

    4- It is comfortable.
Now that my breasts are really about a 30E, I can appreciate the smoothness of the fabric and it feels so good it's like I'm not even wearing a bra.

5- You can adjust the straps all the way down to the cup.
While it is not necessary, I find it really useful because I am quite short. I often need to tighten the straps at least up to my shoulders and having my left breast a bit smaller than my right breast, I find it really useful to be able to tighten the left straps more.

    Is there room for improvement?
Yes, I wish the underwires would go slightly higher under my arms since my breasts love to flee from the side, but I am still fine with it because at least, it's not poking anywhere, which is an issue I often had with other brands.

I also think that the band stretched out too quickly compared with another Freya I own which is the Jolie bra.

I suspect this bra looks better on breasts that are bottom heavy but I could be wrong.

By the way, for those who might be interested, I advise you take a smaller size than usual when it comes to the shorts.

    Didn't fit

I love this bra visually as it is very pretty. It's an okay fit, but not my absolute best.
I believe I have shorter roots and slightly FOT (or the opposite, tall roots but FOB - I am not sure yet). Either way, I need more upper open-ness than some very closed FOB bras. The 30DD is way way too closed on top and I get quadding. The 30E is better - it may be slightly too shallow and wide, so it is not quite as much of a forward look as bras like the panache ana or the comexim plunges. I am also rather center full, so I ... have to really scoop the tissue away from the gore (my tissue is soft and will just go wherever lol). However, it is still a round look and a comfortable bra, and cute.

This bra runs really snug in the band, so after 2 months I still wear it with one hook on an extender. I don't even use an extender on the Ana, which does run looser, but yes the offbeat SS is very snug. I believe my 30E fits closer to a 28E in how small it runs. I wouldn't mind getting another offbeat eventually in 30E (there's a decadence lime green on amazon that is quite cute) but I want to see if there are better fits out there first.

Update: this bra doesn’t work https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> my center fullness keeps falling under the gore and hurts me. I’ll be selling it

    • You could have short roots and be functionally fob. I am. My root length is approximately 2 inches long by 5.4-5.6 wide.

I cannot see my nipples when I bend over making me full on top, BUT, due to short roots + top emptiness all of my breasts are at the bottom making me functionally fob despite me actually being fot.

If your breasts are low, you have short roots and you're fob from what you described.

Try a more projected bra (polish bras are the most projected imo) and see if that fixes your issue.

You can get comexim at break out bras if you're in the US. Levana is ok for getting ewa Michalak. Bob carries nessa as well
Miseczki carries a bunch of polish bras.

Ewa Michalak CHP is very open on top, SMN sm may be other good choices.
BM is also great for upper breast fullness (get a bra with stretch lace on top/mesh to accommodate top fullness so instead of quadding, it will stretch to you)

For in between shallow and projected you should look at subtille and brands like it.

I adore Rosa Bella (check out her IG) she's amazing no matter your location.

Fantasie would be another brand you could try. And bravissimo.

Start with bras that have play room (the stretch top) before trying bras that aren't stretchy on top and then use bratabase. When you find a good fit, check out others who also wore that bra and try those as well.

    • Oh yes I am most likely FOT/even and slightly FOT with short, narrower roots. When I bend down, my tissue is very round on top and seems to be slightly FOT, but the root is shorter so it makes me more functionally FOB I think?

I actually love comexim! The overlapping gore and seams with padding is quite comfortable for me and allows for projection. I did some trial and error with breakout bras, and 30F fits me best - 30E is a little too narrow and was sitting on tissue, 30FF is too open at the top and seems too tall/scratched my armpits. In 30F, the wires are just right and are just a little past my roots, which seems ideal. I own a plunge and a halfcup and they're some of my most comfortable bras. The halfcup especially, because it is shorter and very open at top but with flexible seams, accounts for my upper fullness without any quadding. The plunges run a little tall but I've been able to figure out which are a little shorter, and will maybe get another eventually if it goes on sale.

I also am interesting in trying Ewa but I have..no clue how to get them in my size. Breakout Bras carries 30F in every bra, but it seems like Levana Bratique only cares Ewa in larger sizes and doesn't account for my small but rather projected bust. I think I'd wear a 70DD in them? People say to move up a band size and keep the cup the same or move up one, I'm a little confused, may need some more research.

And yeah, I've looking into fantasie and bravissimo - apart from the deco, most freya bras have too tall and wide of a gore for me, and don't really work. I've tried like...every freya plunge known to mankind, and all are too wide in the gore.

    • You could try comexim unpadded! Bob has a few 😊 they may work well for you. Try a size down from the padded though 😊 if comexim works well for you, there's no need to swap up unless you just want to! Comexim makes plenty of bras and you can order directly for a lot cheaper if you buy multiple.

I wear a 32E in the Offbeat Side Support, because the band on that style runs small. When I decided to try the plunge version, I started with 32E and 32DD, assuming it would be the same. The cups of the plunge are significantly deeper, so the 32DD was a much better fit. However, the band of the plunge runs true to size, and was too large in 32. So, I decided to try my usual band length and ordered a 30E. Much better fit!

The tops of the cups and the gore are a bit wide for me. Considering overlapping the gore to address both issues.

Edit: I ended up deciding that the cup shape is off enough for me not to keep this bra. It’s so close! But just not quite right.

I bought this hoping for the support of the Idol Balcony bra with shorter cups that are better suited to
my body type. I’m super disappointed and returning it. The band runs HUGE. I have a 30E and even on the tightest hook, I can put my whole hand under it and stretch it several inches away from my body. It measures 35 inches stretched! Cups seem true to size.

    • Sorry it was disappointing! If it's like the other bras I know from that line, the band is probably cut to a normal (unstretched) length--it just stretches halfway round the globe. I really didn't like the Fancies line overall because of the materials and construction. Flimsies would have been a better name lol

    • 1

wendybien “Stretches halfway around the globe” is an accurate assessment! Good to know the @Fancies line is all like that! I’ll skip over those in my quest for a perfect bra :)

    • I appreciate your review and info on this style. Unfortunately, for some reason all the Freya's I've been able to get my hands on in 36 and 30 bands are also horrifically stretchy. No support whatsoever. Keep hoping that there will be a version where this brand finally figures out how to make a bra, that we can't do hula hooping or jump rope with.

    • Ugh typo'd when I meant to say ***all the Freya's I've been able to get my hands on in 28 & 30 bands, also horrifically stretchy*** The only way around this is to look for anything with a low elastane percentage, like 6 to 10 percent. taller bands rather than thinner ones, tend to stretch less. Maybe this is why most brands use barely an inch wide band on all their sizes, hope to force every size to have a crappy loose fit that rides up over the underboobs.

    • Sorry to be the (late) bearer of depressing news, but I have been checking out Freya bras since the brand launched in the late 90s and apart from their first few seasons in existence, I can confirm their problem with excessively stretchy bands is a chronic one. I think it just goes with the price point and targeting of somewhat younger wearers--the quality just isn't there. If you are limited to UK brands and need a small band, I would look at Cleo, Fantasie etc. instead. Cleo runs small and firm, Fantasie is pretty true to size in small band/large cup.

  17. Deco Darling Moulded Plunge Bra (1774)

My shape is soft, low set, slightly pendulous, and narrow/short rooted.

I got the pink and black darling deco from Belle Lingerie. This bra is pretty and different looking than my other bras... it's the first 'patterned' bra that I've bought. The straps adjust long enough for my tall frame, but the band feels stretchy. I wanted to size down to a 28F in this, but I couldn't find one in stock to get at Belle Lingerie. I'll probably be wearing this on at least the second set of hooks just to get the support I need.

The bottom of this bra is shallow, and even though I can get ... it in my IMF, there is still some empty space at the very bottom of the bra where there's just not enough projection next to the wire. This works a bit in my favour though, since it pushes everything up, giving me great cleavage and rounding out my boobs at the top of the bra instead of letting them sink into the bottom. The cups themselves even appear long and shallow, so I wasn't surprized. I do get some side boobage in this bra, and I'm not sure if it's because I'm out of shape, because the wings are short, or because I sized down from a 30F to 30E?? The edge of the cups show through tight tank tops/t-shirts. I think the regular deco would be nicer in this way, as the regular deco doesn't have the same edging material on the cups.

Overall good comfort and nice cleavage.

    • Idk, that looks too small to me. Not because of the side boobage, but because your boobs are not securely in the bra. I dont think the bra is supposed to be quite that low coverage. But i could be wrong.

    • Haha, I'm not sure either but I do like the cleavage. I have a hard time getting much cleavage out of any bra, so I was like "oh yeah". You might be right though, it could be a bit too small. I think the next size up would gape though (it's a classic problem of mine since I'm always between sizes).

    • 1

I have a 32DD in the Spotlight version which I just added, though it’s not a new bra for me. I’m thinking of getting another Deco, only sizing down to the 30 band...but unsure of cup size because I have some slight quadding in the current model, so the E would probably also spill over, but I’d worry that the F would gap too much. Anyway, I think this looks great on you but unsure for you if the 30F would be better. I know I freaking love the cleavage from this, and the basketball boob shape I get. It’s boob armour, and a bit hot in warm weather, but is so nice to feel so pretty in.

    • If you like it, wear it! My boobs are so squishy that I'd fall out of a bra like that, but thats my problem lol

    • Calluna I thought about getting the spotlight version, as I tried it on once before (in a too large size), but I couldn't find it. I could have definitely sized down in the band. Sounds like we're in the same boat with sizing. I love the cleavage too!

This bra fits! It was a bit of a surprise, to be honest, because I haven't had a lot of luck with soft cup bras. I don't get any wrinkling or quadding! Yay! The cups are very projected and very closed at the top. I would probably get quadding if my breasts had more even fullness, but luckily it works well with my FOB breasts. I get a nice rounded shape from the bra, not at all pointy. My only criticism with the fit is that it really pulls my breasts away from each other, and it doesn't give a lot of lift. Still, the bra is very ... comfortable and I feel well supported.

The construction of the bra wasn't quite as good as most Freya bras. The cup is made of two layers - a satiny fabric and a layer of soft mesh. The satin fabric is sewn in two parts, and the mesh layers has three parts. The two layers aren't sewn together, except at the edges. Because of that I got some weird bunching of the mesh the first time I put it on. The elastic around the armpits doesn't sit flat against my body - it almost looks like ruffles. It doesn't show through clothing, fortunately, but it is still odd. I found the band pretty true to size.

I haven't decided if Zen is a keeper or not yet.

I'm both happy and disappointed with this bra. I'm happy because it's fits me perfectly! The band is nice and tight and the cups are tall and deep enough for me. When I bend over, I don't feel like my boobs are going to fall out! The bra lifts and rounds well, giving me the soft hills look. The straps are inlaid with the same print as the cups, which is a really nice detail. For a seamed bra, everything lays pretty flat, so the texture shouldn't be too visible under clothes.

But the bra doesn't quite look like the stock photo. The floral print on my bra is ... a lot darker than the one in the stock photo. It is the same print, but I didn't get the round flowers nicely centred between the seams - I got random bits of flowers that give a much darker tone to the bra. Also the white decorative strip at the top of my bra is a lot thicker. It changes the appearance from looking like a white bra with flowers and decorative trim, to a half white, half floral print bra. It's not ugly - I would still have bought it. It's just not quite what I expected.

I see what you mean - in the advertising for this model it looks much more summery. Still a lovely print, but darker, as you said. I'm glad it fits well though :) !

I feel like the cups on the 28F Patsy I tried were narrower. These are very wide on me so it doesn't work. I would also do well with a tighter band. Feels softer and more comfy than the Patsy I had. Possibly a difference in wash and wear between the two though.
