Second attempt with the Freya Fearne and I just can’t get a good fit. In fact, I can’t get a good fit with any Freya bras I’ve tried! And I’ve tried quite a few in different sizes. More on that below...
I ordered this from Belle Lingerie on eBay. They are in the UK (I’m in Canada) but it was shipped to me very quickly, like in 2 weeks. Oh and they accept returns! You have to pay for return shipping but I’ve got the covered under PayPal international returns. Overall a good experience purchasing from them.
The Freya Fearne is quite pretty and the materials are soft and ...stretchy. The cups materials are quite thin.
The band on the fearne is stretchy and larger than the size indicated. The 32 fit me just fine and I’m normally a 34. I tried the 32F and the cups were way too small. But the 32FF cups were too big. Space and wrinkling at the top of the cups. The shape I got looked unsupported and saggy, wah wah.
I find that I get this weird unsupported sad looking shape in all freyas. I can’t quite figure out why. I’ve heard people say some freyas are good for FOB shapes but they absolutely do not work for me. I also find their straps are never short enough for me, I’m always tightening them way too much.
Anyhoo, sadly I’m done with Freya. Why are the only bras that work for me Polish? Read more 141 more words
I keep buying deco and every one a winner. I’ve tried others and I really want to expand my repertoire, but I simply can’t! I have big boobs, deceptively so as I spill from the side (armpits), but Freya deco cannot be beaten on comfort and looks for the price tag, especially when shopping through brastop. I’ve found bravissimo satins are good but not as good as these. Rigby & Peller are the only bra store to offer any similarity in comfort and look under as well as without clothing, but the price tag 🏷 I just cannot justify u til I know I am not going to lose any more weight. For those interested however, Freya deco come up larger normally but not on good bras such as R&P, so empreinte Cassiopee and Prima Donna eternal fitted perfectly at a shocking down size to a 32f (so single f rather than my usual deco double!),
This was my first time trying on a 32FF after using the r/ABtF calculator. So far it's the best fitting bra I've tried on over the last month. I didn't buy it because I was sure about it and I don't like lace bras (sensory issues) but the lace is soft and stretchy, not stiff. I may try it again when Nordstrom isn't closing in 10 minutes.
For reference I've been wearing a 34DD Wacoal Smooth Sider and a Dream Tisha in a 36E. Both bands are a little too big, but their bands run tight afaik. The 34 Wacoal band is only a tiny bit too large ...on the smallest hooks, but the DD cups are hilariously small. The Dream Tisha band is too big on the smallest hooks and in general doesn't fit well, but I'm learning I'm the wrong shape for molded bras and am giving up on them.
You can see in photos that my right boob is at least a cup size smaller after two surgeries. I have an insert, but didn't have it the day I tried this 32FF Freya on. There are some wrinkles in the right cup especially at the top edge lace, but the left seems to fit okay. My nipple sits where the seams meet. Now that I'm looking at the side photo, I can't quite tell, but the bottom of the cup near the underwire may have a wrinkle. I can't tell if it's a shadow or not and I'm still confused about root width and if the the underwire is in my IMF correctly. I didn't know to look for that fit issue or to see if the underwire was sitting in my IMF. I'm not sure if the wires are wide enough. I have a lot of migrated soft tissue. I wish I'd had more idea of what to check for and which photos to take, like one from below might have helped.
I'm very full on bottom, inner full, projected, short root height, average root width or possibly a little wide. Boobs are soft, pendulous, and round. Separated by two finger widths. Read more 249 more words
I think it’s good, and worth trying on again with your insert and time.
Calluna thank you. I'll definitely try it again at some point.
Let us know what you think! One thing to keep in mind with bras is that very often they will soften up more after a few wears and washes. Oftentimes it comes starched and washing it out helps.
Calluna I know that, but it's amazing how often I forget it.
The only bad thing about this bra is that the composition of the cup as far as the outer stitching makes it a bit difficult to wear with anything tight fitting. It is comfortable, fits, has a slight push-up effect on my bottom heavy breasts, and is cute as a button.
It has stretched over time, first in the straps and, depressingly, now so far in the band that it no longer fits. If I were to buy it again, I'd go for size 30F.
When I got this bra, I had just been sized by an actual fitter. It was the first bra I bought on my own in my new, non-Victoria's Secret Size. So, I was naive, and my problems with the bra are more my fault than with the quality of the bra. This bra doesn't work for my shape. I'm full in the center and bottom with narrow roots. It gives me a weird shape, there's gapping on the top, and spill-over in the middle. The straps are a good thickness and it does feel secure without feeling caged in.
I've had this bra for about a month now and I think it's time for my first review! This was my first correct-ish sized bra, which I picked up at a Nordstrom Rack. Selection there was slim, so this bra isn't what I would have picked otherwise, but out of all the ones I tried, it fit the best.
The bra is comfy, and the fabric is nice. I really like the little bit of lace on the edges of the cups, because it's sweet and doesn't show through my shirts at all. The cute green color with the white polka dots has also grown on me quite ...a bit even though green is not a color I wear often. It gives me a very round shape, which I like. Occasionally I think it almost looks a bit squarish, but under clothes it looks great.
As far as size, I am now, a month later, pretty sure that I would have a better fit with a smaller band and maybe even a larger cup. At the time of purchase, I had some pretty bad sunburn on my back, so I felt the bands of all my bras quite acutely, and since this one was slightly tighter than what I was used to, I felt it the most! Now, however, after having acquired a Panache Andorra in the same size, I see what all the bloggers mean when they say that Freya bands run loose. I've started wearing the Patsy on the tightest hook, because it rides up less and feels better than way.
Another thing I'd like to mention is that the straps, within a few wears, became scrunched/folded up at the front, near where they attach to the cup. I think this is due to the location, right where my armpit would pinch over it when I move my arms forward. This hasn't affected the comfort or look of the bra.
To sum up, this bra is a hit with me. Even though the band could be tighter, I feel that it was a great introduction to what is close to my real size. Read more 244 more words
White with pink bows at straps base and central gore; cute but not gorgeous, and very covering - I would say it's a full-cup plunge. I first ordered the 34E, but the cup was a bit tight and I had a feeling it would stretch out so I went for the 32FF, and that was the choice to make. It was tight and the band was cutting at first, but after a couple of months wearing it once every 4 days and washing it by hand, it stretched a bit and is now comfortable on the loosest hook. One of the cut is slightly big (hello asymmetrical breasts), except on PMS days!
The name of this bra ("Off Beat") suits it's personality. With Robin's Egg Blue (muted) fabric and Peach (bright) colored straps, it would not have been my first choice of color combinations.
* With 7.5" cups, this "Demi" Plunge bra is definitely not a demi on a short torso! * Straps are set too wide in the front. They roll and twist into my armpits whenever I move. SO annoying! * The wires are too long that they sit on my ribs. (And at 6.25", they're also wider than a perfect fit for me.) The wires cause the cups to do this funny little buckle above the wires. * The "Plunge" ...gore is still 2.75" tall and 1.2" wide. It's about the limit of available space I have.
Oh, if they could only make a scaled-down version of this for petites... All I would need is shorter and narrower wires, drop the height of the gore just a bit, and move the straps away from the armpits. But keep the depth in the cups the same. Then they'd have the perfect bra for me!
BTW, I love the fabric of the cups; a little like spacer cups but more "body" to the fabric. Smooth, thin and wrinkle-free. Would be great for traveling. Read more 103 more words
Initially I bought the 32F, which at first I loved and thought was very comfortable. But the longer I wore it the more I wanted to rip it off; like it was both squishing me flat and the wires were pushing in too hard.
* Just as a reminder, the cups are full coverage & definitely firm. Support comes collectively from all parts of the bra: the firm band (has silicone on the top of the back band), the firm wires, the tall gore, the cups and the restricted stretch straps (if used). It DOES NOT slide down when used as a strapless! The shape is projected & forward ...round with a very slight pointedness (but not a lot center-fullness). Since the gore is tall, it will interfere with a close-set or center-full shape. But like I said, the gore provides support too. * Personally, on me the gore "tries" to sit on my sternum, but doesn't quite make it. Hence, it flattens me out in the center and causes just a little quadding (but not enough to notice when wearing). * One complaint about the bra is the location of the front straps. There are two positions to choose from, in both front and back. The back ones are fine, but the front ones, even the ones closer to center are still hitting my armpits. So I added a third position, as you can see in the pictures. I couldn't find grosgrain ribbon to match the original, so I used bias tape instead. I "stitched in the ditch" to conceal the stitching, just as the original. The new loops do not show from the front and now it's much more comfortable when I want to use the straps. * A second complaint is the length of the panel for the hooks & eyes. When worn on the loosest set of hooks, there is barely enough fabric to cover the hooks. So they will rub into you if you're not careful about making sure that flap of material is laying completely flat. Read more 230 more words
I tried this bra in the following sizes: 32F, 32FF, 34F. This one, the 32FF was the winner! 🎉
## KEEP OR CHANGE
🤩 This one's the keeper - in other bras, I'm a 34F, but the band on this bra stretched a LOT I've only tried this color so I'm not sure if it's the style or the style+color. 32F starts to compress so it was no surprise the 32FF has the right volume.
- Band is a snug and comfortable - Gore sits nicely - Cups are just right - Straps are fine - Wire sits comfortably - Material is nice.
## MATERIALS & CONSTRUCTION
- Backband power mesh - Three (3) piece bottom cup is stretch lace lined with foam lining - Top cup piece galloon lace with foam lining - Frame and two-piece gore are lined with a mesh tricot - Hook & eye is plush backed with soft edges
My shape: Projected, average width roots, short roots, slightly bottom full, even horizontal fullness. Finally a bra that fits! I am in love with this bra. The straps come in much more than my other bras so it doesn't chafe on my tail of spence. The cups fit nicely and even though my right breast is 2 cup sizes smaller I don't need an insert to fill it out. The material is soft and comfortable. The band is snug, slightly looser than an average 32, but comfortable and not riding up. If you have short roots I highly recommend this bra.
I recently remeasured myself and am building a new bra wardrobe. There aren't any lingerie shops where I live, that carry a large variety of bras (I really do live on a relatively remote island!) so I need to purchase them from the Internet (Thank you, ABTF and Bratabase!). As it is, I am still trying to figure out (finalise, would be the more accurate term) my correct bra size and shape. Incidentally, the bra size recommended by Bratabase was 34D - 34DD - 34E. I also ordered the Panache Tango Ii Balconnet Bra (3251) in 34DD, which has yet to arrive.
This was the first bra ...from Bratabase's Bra Recommendations. Unfortunately, it wasn't an ideal fit. The cup being WAY too large, I didn't bother taking pictures. Strangely, the bottom of the cup was quite full! The gores dig uncomfortably into my sternum, less so under the armpits. The band was a tad too tight but not overly so, which leads me to suspect that to size up on the band could possibly result in a band that was too loose. I did the "upside down bra" test, the bra still felt slightly tight.
All in all, this was a no-go. So, on to the next one! *fingers crossed* Read more 102 more words
I saw online rumors that the Patsy, my favorite padded half cup, was being discontinued so I ordered the Fearne as a 'tester' replacement. I have to say this is probably my new favorite bra.
* The band on the Fearne is stretchy just like the Patsy * Fearne is a little more closed on top. I have an even, self supporting shape and this did not cause any quadding. If you are very FOT or have soft tissue, this may be an issue for you. * Overall, the Fearne fits me just as well as the Patsy does * Fearne's seams are less visible under clothing as compared to Patsy * Fearne's fabric is a lot softer than Patsy. Very comfortable! * I also like the pattern better on the Fearne. The Patsy's polka dots were cute; this pattern feels more elegant.
I highly recommend Fearne if Patsy worked for you. I am off to get the beige color way!
This is an absolutely gorgeous bra that fits me quite well. I'm used to full coverage bras, but the half cup works quite well for me because I've lost some of the little top fullness I had and that does strange things to full coverage cups. The band on this bra isn't as comfortable as my older Elomi bras, but that may just be due to new-bra stiffness. For now, I look forward to taking it off at the end of the day. The support is superb, and I like that the light padding on the upper cup keeps my nipples from poking through, unlike some of Freya's other offerings.
I fit into a 32F in the other Freya and Fantasie bras I've tried, so the cups on this one seem to run a smidge small.
I was searching for a bra that would go with my wedding dress and it seems to me that I have succeeded thanks to a lovely shop in the capital, where the shop assistent spent almost two hours with me... The cup shape and size is almost perfect, although my larger breast is almost spilling out near the central gore (however, the larger cup was simply too big to even consider going up one size). The band is quite loose - fits well on the tightest hook, but it´s mostly the silicone stripes help to keep the bra in place. However, since I usually wear 28 bands, I ...would say this one runs pretty tight.
The shape is nice, rounded and uplifted and looks really well under my clothes without making my breasts seem inappropriately "big", which is a common concern for me. It´s a simple, basic bra. I plan wearing it with the straps on, since I would not feel secure without them. They can be placed in two places on the cups and the band both, which I appreciate, since I have more central fullness and thus I can move the straps to prevent gaping near my armpits and spillage near the center. The side wings are a good height, reaching nowhere near my armpits (which is something my other moulded/padded bras - no matter how much I love them and really want to wear them - tend to do, especially the 28J - Curvy Kate » Starlet Moulded Bra (CK2501) ), which made my armpits hurt. So, if you are short, this is a good option.
Five months later: EDIT: I don´t really know what happened, but the spillage is now very significant and the bra is not wearable for me anymore. I hope it will fit one of my friends, since I can´t return it after bending the underwires... I don´t think it´s a size issue, though. The shape is awfully wrong for my close set, very full on top breasts. Perhaps the tissue has migrated? Who knows.
I decided to try this bra because I thought it would be like Natori Feathers & it was on sale for a great price on Amazon. I was wrong - it's nothing like Feathers. This bra just didn't fit me correctly no matter how much adjusting I did.
First - the gore. Stabby and painful. Second - the cups. I filled the bottom and sides of the cup with no issues. The top (lace-only) portion of the cup had a gap because the cups are tall and my roots are not - a shape mismatch but not a deal breaker in my book. The lace overlay has elastic ...along the edge; this caused quadding in the center.
I also had an odd rippling/waving at the top of the moulded part of the cup. It stayed no matter how much I tightened or loosened the straps. I think this was caused because the straps are attached to the lace overlay and it is stretchy by nature; any amount of tension will cause the ripples. I think maybe a cup size smaller would fix that ripple issue but would exacerbate the quadding from the elastic edge. It's almost like with this design you have to choose between quadding and ripples.
It was too much of a hassle to return (UK seller) so I am putting this in my donation pile.

I tried the 30GG and the band was way too small. So I tried the 32FF, and the band is mostly good. I don't fill out the cup fully since I have short roots, and I'm having some pain when wearing it. I'm still undecided if I'm going to keep it or not, it's a bit of an awkward fit but looks cute.
@margesimpon, I feel like the only bras that work for me are Polish, too.
That's too bad, I really was attracted to the Freya Fearne - it's looks kind of Polish to me!
