I ordered this from amazon to try, knowing the return would be easy. My shape is narrow, even, projected with average-to-short roots, close-set with lots of upper-center fullness and soft, saggy breast tissue. This bra felt pretty comfortable when I first put it on, but doesn't provide much support. The stretchy band and straps and stretch lace let my soft boobs just "hang out"; there is not much lift or shaping going on. However, it's not a total bra fail, as the fit is somewhat decent, and it's lightweight enough to wear in the hot summer. I don't like the pepto-bismol-pink colorway (Sweet Pea)
This seems to fit me well for a moulded plunge bra. Although there is slight quadboob towards the centre, the plunge cut allows room for my centre fullness without my breasts falling out the middle, and the foam cups keep me lifted and contained. The cups do seem a bit wide as the underwire ends near the back of my armpit and there is empty space in the side of the cups, but this bra is comfortable enough to wear for a day.
This is another silky, satiny fabric, much like the Iona, which I also love. Delicate (flat & non-irritating) embroidery covers the cups, which have just a touch of stretch: enough to help the bra move with you & be comfy, but retain its great support.
Also, the straps, while being wideset, are just a tad more inward than the Iona or Arabella, totally eliminating that irritating cutting into the side of your underarm tissue that can happen with other balconettes. Toward the very end of the day, I can feel a little pressure from the end of the wires, which otherwise are nice & broadly shaped & - what I love most about Freya - not too high on the sides.
This is my favorite Freya style of the 4 that I own. I was surprised that the lace is not scratchy at all, the straps are softer than usual, & the cut of the cup is a bit fuller than the other plunges - kind of between that & a balcony, like a true 3/4 cup.
The wires are short at the sides - which I personally love, as I hate too-long wires that scrape under my arms (I'm looking at you, Panache). The cups are a little more generous than most Freyas & of course the band runs larger. I usually end up wishing I'd bought a ...36G, as with the 38FF I always start out on the middle hook. But that size wasn't on eBay for a steal. So.
I have it black, which has a lovely periwinkle blue subtle pattern across the bottom cups & little rosettes at the gore. I wore this all day in comfort, as the cups are a lot broader than the balcony style Antoinette I have, & the material is far softer than the embroidered Mischa. Read more 76 more words
Generous, comfortable cups, with lift & separation. Rounded silhouette. Pretty embroidery. But I have the same problem I do with Fantasie: the band is made of a harsh mesh material, with rough elastic that does not lie flat. I can only wear this bra for about 5 hours before the side wing fabric begins to rub raw spots on my skin.
In this case, the band is rubbing on you because it is too big. A tightly-fitting band of the proper size doesn't move around, so you don't get the rubbing. The cups are too big as well, since you can't fill them and the wires are too wide. You should downsize in both band and cup.
Thanks for the thoughts, but that's definitely not the problem. If anything, I could stand to go up to a G. I get a perfect fit in both the Mischa & Iona in this size - but they're a nice soft satiny fabric, not mesh. The band's not moving around at all; it's snug on the middle hook. It's the mesh fabric of this style that is the problem for me. I find it rough on my skin & not flexible enough to conform to my boobs.
The straps are too far apart, which just suggests that balcony bras are not great for me. The wires are wide enough and the gore low enough (when I push the wires down through the channels). But the wire will not stay in my IMF and there’s a lot of wrinkling at the bottom of the cup. I think this is the correct size for me, so this could indicate not enough immediate projection, or just a shape mismatch. Overall, it wasn’t supportive enough or the right shape for me, so I have to return it.
Edit: the band is probably too tight and causing the wires to distort, so I need larger band sizes. My shape is: very wide roots, short/med root height, close set, med projection, slightly center-full, and functionally full-on-bottom.
The largest band that I could find this in was 38, and it was too tight for me. More importantly, the cups run quite large (wish I had realized that before buying it, but at least I can still return it). I think I could have sized down 2 cups sizes. Despite the best swoop and scoop I could manage, I did not even remotely fill the cups...it was lowkey comical. Not a good match for my shape, as I don't have enough upper fullness for this style, but the wires are nice and wide.
My usual size is 40F in UK sizing. My shape is: very wide roots, short/med root height, close set, med projection, slightly center-full, and functionally full-on-bottom.
It's a great plunge bra with just enough padding to keep nipples from displaying. Great projection. It is stiff and does require some substantial time breaking in though.
This is so far the best fitting of my new sized bras 38FF since discovering abrathatfits Pros:Cute color, good projection for my FOB shape, I like that it isn't moulded, love the stretchiness of the band Cons: a little bit wrinkly at the end of the day but ok for 2 hours after S&S. So far as with all bras, my splayed shape means the wires don't widen fast enough for it to reach my IMF in the center so that's the main thing on my wish list. At least it's comfortable?
it's pretty, sits on my sternum nicely (no trampoline) it has good lift, especially for an H cup, and it doesn't cut in under my arms, which his my favorite part.
I was fitted into a Freya bra in a size 36FF, and kind of wished I had just a TINY bit more room in the cups, and wouldn't it be nice if it didn't make so much back fat, and.... well.... did get more room in the cups.... Yeah, it doesn't fit. I'm going to try taking the cup in a little (or carry stuff in my bra to fill it up). Very pretty, nice shape, just a little gappy at the top.
Cuts into top of breasts, digs at the sizes, and yet it's still the best fitting bra I own. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> Workin on it!
I love this bra SO MUCH but it's a bit shallow for me and smooshes me too much. Still considering buying it in the proper size to see if that helps (doubt it'll still fit right but I love this bra oh so much lol). Note that the band is extremely stretchy on this bra.
Wearable but too narrow central gore for my soft breast, soon after adjusting my breast tissue starts to fall out of the cups in the middle. Low quality compared to my other Freyas, lint bumps appearing on smooth material.
Exactly like the Freya molded plunge, the cups are not very projected, orange in a glass. Very comfortable with a stretchy band and straps. Looks great under clothes
i usually have a major problem with straps falling down, regardless of fit and style for all bras. I was thrilled when i first put this on, comfortable, looked great, everything where it should be. after wearing for 4+ hours, still pretty comfortable and the straps did slip occasionally but not often enough for me to give up on the bra. the band did stretch, very tight on first wearing and 2nd hook on second, but still comfy and holds thing well. the two hook closure is supportive and WAY more comfortable than the 5 hooks i'm used to. the wires don't poke and gore lays flat. the shape is fabulous but very... firm. doesn't move well, more so than other t shirt bras i've worn. looks fine with low cut tshirts and tank tops.
Yeah , it looks really comfy with not much support. And something besides a @Deco from Freya! Cool! : )
