So, I ordered this from BraStop when they were having a sale, and since reviews I'd read said it tended to fit small/tight in the band, I decided to order a 30GG. Bad idea. I was a little worried about how big it was when I first unwrapped it, but given as my mental image of what a bra that should fit me would look like, and the size of ones I actually own are, I didn't think much of it. Trying it on, I found that the band was actually fairly loose, and I could easily fasten it on even the tightest set of hooks right off the bat. Not to mention I could fit 2-3 socks inside of it+my boobs. So, long story short, it's going back for an exchange, but it was definitely an educational experience.
This bra is very tall and shallow in the cup, so it didn't at all want to sit in my inframammary fold. When first swooping-and-scooping into the bra, the underwire situated itself a good two inches below the root of my breasts. If I hiked it up to where it needed to be, the band suddenly felt far too loose and the straps - even fully tightened - were several inches too long.
Despite fitting poorly, the bra was actually quite comfortable. I contemplated keeping it just to bum around the house but figured the underboob sweat if it kept slipping down would be intolerable.
If you have wide set, tall breasts that are shallow - especially on the bottom - then this is a great tshirt bra. The materials are very soft and comfortable, but since it is molded you will need a compatible breast shape to get a good fit.
Would be a nice everyday bra, but unfortunately the straps are too long (only adjusts half the strap) and the cups come up too high on the side. The too long straps make it ride low on my body.. thus the quad boob.
I have mixed feelings about this bra. It looks really pretty but once I put it on I was disappointed. For starters, the material it's made of makes it incredibly uncomfortable to wear for any length of time. It's very stiff and scratchy fabric; almost feels like chicken wire! I cannot determine if this bra is true to size or if I ordered the wrong size, but something about it is just off. It feels snug in the back and the cup is strange. I fill the cup on the bottom but there is a fair bit of wrinkling on top, yet not enough to go up a ...size. The straps are only partially adjustable which makes it even more difficult for petite women, so I had the straps on the shortest setting but still could not get the support I needed. I think this bra is much better suited for taller women or those with full on top breasts. I have soft breasts so I think the shape of the bra just did not work for me. It gave me a torpedo pointy shape which was quite visible under my shirt. Also the seams and embroidery are clearly visible through the shirt partly because the material is stiff and does not lay flat against the skin. Overall, this bra is not very comfortable and I would not recommend it. I would definitely not buy it at full price. However, I kept it because I bought it at a ridiculously bargain price from brastop.com and because once I tried it on while I had my period (and my breasts were swollen) I was able to fill the cups and there was no more wrinkling. Despite that, the shape is still very pointy and irritating. The bra is moderately supportive and I can wear it under sweaters and coats. It's not my go to bra by any means but it'll do in a pinch. Still, I would not recommend it. It's a very pretty design but the fabric just sinks it. Read more 234 more words
I've yet to find a T-shirt bra or low-neckline padded bra that doesn't cut into my breasts. This was no exception. There just wasn't enough space for my breasts, and I am usually a 28J. Other than that, the patterned mesh material seemed flimsy and probably the seam wouldn't last, but the base material felt very sturdy. That's probably because of how heavily padded and stiff the bra was. The shape it gave was too wide to be flattering, but the low gore was one of the most comfortable I've experienced. Didn't dig in even a bit, since it was so padded.
I finally found a tankini in my size on ebay from KazBra! It fit true to size. There is basically a mesh bra with underwires inside the tankini swim top. There are 3 columns of 2 hooks to fasten the bra at the back too! It does fit me and I do love it. The top part of the cup is elastic and quite tight. I am full on bottom and shallow up top with tall roots, so I look for a closed top part of the cup. I am almost quad boobing! So I would only recommend this for ...someone with short roots or very reduced upper fullness. I would think you would have to be fob to fit into it. The shape doesn't give a lift to the breasts so it is a natural shape. There is no padding inside. The straps are fairly wide and fully adjustable. Compared to many of the other tankini tops, I find this one modest yet still shows off the curves. My husband LOVES it on me and says it is his all-time favourite swim top on me. I do find it hard and tight to get in and out of it. Other than the dressing/undressing, I love it and can wear it often without feeling self-conscious! Read more 124 more words
This tankini looks very beautiful, but has a weird fit. It has a built-in bra that fits like a fairly loose 36GG. The bra doesn't provide much lift, as it's made from two layers of very soft mesh. It feels comfortable and soft. However, the top edge of the tankini is super tight, even if you don't have much upper fullness. Maybe it would work for someone who doesn't have a wide upper torso and no upper fullness. The closing in the back of the bra is with metal clasps, just like in a bra. The bottoms run very small, I would recommend getting at least one size up. The fabric seems high quality, and the print is lovely.
The Good: Love the color. Decent shape. If not sitting down, it's quite comfortable, with an extender. Good shape.
The Bad: Like my review for the 40DD, needs extender on band, and is much smaller than 40. Past that, the underwire sits too low, and digs in when I sit down. Ever so slight quadboob effect.
The Bad: Feels cheapish compared to my Fantasie or Curvy Kate. The underwire sits too low and digs in when I sit down. Regarding the other issues, gore sat off my sternum and quadboobed a bit. Then the worst part, there is no way this is a 40 inch band. The tag says 40, and on a full exhale-tightest possible my UB measures about 38, and I can not get the hooks together, they fall short about an inch. Had to use an extender, which barely got the job done. NOT the bra for me. I DID however, pick up a 40E as well, reviewing separately.
I can make my boobs fit into this bra, but keeping them where they should be is the problem...would require multiple intimate adjustments per hour, which I just cannot sustain during the work day or anywhere in public. Although I do tend to have this problem in most bras I own (my breasts are too close together, probably?), it's a far bigger issue in this bra in particular.
Pros: soft, breathable fabric looks sexy when adjusted properly no underwire poking for me
Cons: straps too stretchy, not able to adjust short enough too much of a plunge to contain me cups too far apart for me underwire slides down as day goes on causing [a] breasts to slide out the middle a bit (quadboob), [b] bottom of cup to fold, [c] gore to pull away from chest
Thanks so much for posting! So many reviewers don't put up any photos at all when the bra is a really poor fit. In fact these pictures are arguably more helpful to other users than the photos that display a perfect fit or a subtly imperfect fit!
This bra clearly has an issue with the cups being unusually shallow near the gore (see photos by other users who tried it in various sizes). However, the 32G in this bra is also clearly too small for you... Go for cups whose depth measurement is close to your lying down boob perimeter.
Thanks wendybien for the advice. I'm new to the site and still need to figure out how to search for the proper fit.
Well, I figured this was such a cute bra, I'd try it again. Based on the measurements of the 30G (here on Bratabase), and my experience with how stretchy the band is, I ordered this size. I even ordered the matching panties in UK 10, because I was feeling whimsical. Anyways, it's pretty comfortable, but it feels all-over too big, so I'm going to exchange it for the 28G, which has already been reserved for me, and I'll put that up after it arrives.
Gives a full coverage and a smooth shape. Cup is tall and shallow. The upper part of the central gore digs into my body though I can pull a finger under it between the underwires from the bottom side. It seems to be a construction mistake and can be painful.
For widely spaced, full-on-top breasts, this bra was a nightmare! I really wanted it to fit, but it feels much more like a US 34H than a UK. The cups were many sizes too small, there was quad boob everywhere! The stitching along the top of the cups is very fine and the stitching started to undo before I even got the bra on.
On a good note, this bra has a great fabric that's very smooth and soft. Perfect for t-shirts. It is lightly padded all over and the straps have a good amount of stretch to them. The straps are only half-adjustables, so be aware of that if you tend to need to shorten them a lot.
One side is quad boob, (left side) and the right side doesn't fill 100%. It's cutting in under my armpits, not sure if that's me or the bra. I like the band. It definitely feels better than my old 34DD bras.
