Took a shot in the dark on an unknown bra in my desperate search for a workable unlined nude bra. Didn't turn out that bad! Could be slightly more immediately projected, but I say that about almost everything. It's fairly narrow, good for FOB shapes, and not totally ugly! So I suppose I consider it a win.
Exciting!! Thank you for your adventure and risk taking :-) :-)
i think i'd consider it a win.
Looks lovely on you! I love the subtle pattern. Great to see more info on other Polish brands!
Thanks! I like the pattern too! And yeah, I figured somebody has to try them lol :)
If you're continuing your search, I've been lusting after the Gossard Glossies unlined mesh bra in beige. If I could get a good fit, it'd be such a great t-shirt bra! It has no seams. There isn't much out there on its fit though. Don't know if it's something you'd be interested in.
Not really... I've heard it runs really wide and shallow and huge. But thanks!
annabellynn Glossie is completely sheer... Leaves nothing to the imagination
I had a Glossie that I loved when I was still in its size range and didn't find it particularly wide or shallow. It can run big though just because there's so much stretch that it can accommodate a couple of different cup sizes. Maybe I should get around to putting up the measurements, since I still actually have it despite it not fitting lol
Have you tried the Fantasie Smoothing Moulded Balcony Bra (4520) ? Its very plain, but perfect under light and tight shirts. It's cups are molded but unlined, so great for summer.
I ordered this bra on US Amazon on 9/21/16. It arrived very quickly, on 10/3/16.
This bra is very pretty. It has a fairly simple design, which I quite like. It has all-over stretch lace, an interior side sling, side boning, and super narrow straps. It has three columns of two rows of hook and eyes.
It runs a full band size small. I am closer to a UK 30H these days, so my usual EU size would be 65K, but the band on this 70J is perfect. Size up in the band if you're not between band sizes.
Now for what I like - the cups are narrow and ...fairly deep. The shape is minimized but not super pointy (it's not round like a Cleo, but then what is? https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" /> ). There is lots of room for bottom fullness. The stretch lace is very soft and comfy.
For what I do not like - there is not much room by the center gore. I consider my center fullness (along with my bottom fullness) my defining shape characteristic, so YMMV with whether this is a problem for you. I plan on narrowing the gore to give me more room at the center. It also does not allow room for much top fullness. I am pretty even/full all over, and it definitely cuts in a little. If you are full on top or tall rooted, I do not think this is the bra for you. The straps are a little too narrow and too stretchy for me. They are a ever so slightly uncomfortable, and they allow me to bounce a bit. I am currently deciding whether or not to switch them out.
Despite all of my gripes, I really do like this bra. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> The beige functions as a nude for me, and the shape actually looks really good under clothes. For the price (~$26 + $6 shipping), it really is a good value. Read more 224 more words
fattireflattire Thanks for your review and for filling in the measurements! I've wondered about that bra on Amazon. Glad to see some different brands being reviewed!
Thanks for the review! I had heard of the brand and I'm curious to try it, but I didn't know it was on Amazon.
Primula, JulieCS no problem! @Gorteks is a great brand, especially for the price.
Starting Notes Polish haul bra five of six! To be quick about it, I don't like it. It was so pretty in the photos online, but it's just the wrong shape, cheap materials, and just... UGH. I wanted it to work so badly!! But no way, unless I cut off half the wings, somehow lose more weight (which would be unhealthy for me), and magically changed the shape of my breasts. Lol, it's just not gonna happen! This bra sucks (for me). I'll go into more detail, as this might work for some people, but for me is was just an absolute shape mismatch, and extreme disappointment considering this ...bra is SO pretty!
Wires It's not quite as dramatic as the extreme U shaped underwires that it seems like all these bras have had so far, and having one major difference that for ONCE it doesn't have a mile-high gore. While they touch in the middle, because the front end of the underwires don't have as dramatic a drop in them, they still seem a bit far apart. They have a gradual slope in the middle, but come up steeply on the sides. This is basically the opposite shape of my breast roots. As for underwire width, they are wider than the Gaia Adeline.
Cup Shape Shallow in depth for this size, and very much shaped like < from the side. It doesn't look quite as dramatic when I wear it because the top half of the bra is stretch lace, so my breast managed to stretch and round it out. But off the body, it has virtually no roundness. The cups are also pretty short in height, so my breasts were pushing the center seam down, which isn't very flattering. This would be good for a very conical shaped breast that has short roots, that is also not very projected. As for materials, the bottom half is lightly lined with thin foam, and the upper portion is stretch lace.
Projection Absolutely no immediate projection because of the overall < cup shape. With it freshly on, and me shoving it up as high as I can make it, I have more than a finger width of space between the bottom of my breast and the bottom of the cup. I'd also say it doesn't have a lot of center projection. It just seems very shallow in comparison to the other bras I've tried so far, and it does measure the smallest across the apex. I could have guessed how this would fit, by how it fit the model in the product photo, but product photos can sometimes be misleading with them purposefully putting a too-small bra on to hype up the "oomph" factor, so I blindly hoped that it would be more projected than it appeared. I guess I need to not be seduced by just pretty fabrics in the future!
Band Giant. And it's just one thin piece of stretch lace!! WHERE IS MY POWERMESH?!?! Of all the bras I ordered, this one starts out as the longest band when lying flat. For a 30 band, it wouldn't have seemed that bad, except for it can stretch to over 32 inches! (I stopped at 32 for fear of ripping the lace, but it definitely could go further than that.) In the photos, I was wearing it on the tightest hook, yet you can see how far it can stretch from my back. Extremely cheap way to make a bra, which is frustrating and disappointing. Even if I did add a layer of beige powermesh, the cup shape is still wrong, so it would be a waste of materials.
Straps Longest of all the bras ordered; I don't feel fear for anyone taller than me being able to adjust them long enough. Also very thin and delicate, which is nice. It finally seems like the band elastic is balanced to the rest of the bra and doesn't overpower everything else. (Yay, one positive! *sarcasm*) They are the usual too wide, though sadly. The lace portion is nice, but it's just too little too late for this bra.
Appearance I do have to admit, the fabrics and design of this bra is just so stunning to me. I love that the straps have a portion of the lace coming in towards the center of the bra. It's probably what attracted me to is in the first place, other than the colorway. I've been wanting a black lace bra for a long time, but I knew I didn't want fully unlined, so to see the lower portion have foam in a beige colorway was exactly what I was looking for. The black lace has a really pretty pattern. And the sparkly charm in the center is just charming! Overall, this is a very pretty bra. Now as for appearance on me, on the other hand, it's not that great unfortunately. It's very wide and shallow and splayed looking, and sits too low so it makes my boobs look lower than they are, and then we have the upside-down 7 shape going on since the cups are too small or short for me and my breasts push the center apex downward. I added a top down view, because it flattens me out more than my natural projection is. It just doesn't look good on. :,(
Comfort Can't really say much for comfort, as I kept it on only for a few minutes to take photos. I felt unsecured through the loose band, and the wide straps always bother me, so I could tell that if I were to wear it for a day, it would become super annoying having to adjust the band and straps all day long. But this time, the gore didn't hurt, so there's that. Comfort is just neutral I guess.
Summary This bra has a deceivingly gorgeous appearance. Fabrics are beautiful, but construction is cheap, and fit is poor. I think this is the first and only bra of the six that I ordered that I don't think I can keep, and will probably be listing it as I took too long writing this review to return it. (Plus return shipping would probably cost what the bra did, bleh.) If you are wide and shallow, have short roots, don't need a lot of immediate projection, and fit closer to a 32C (or don't mind stretchy straps or can alter them), then this bra will work for you! At least from this bra adventure, we have all learned and added to the database. For bra science! Read more 973 more words
I ordered Marilyn before in 36E cause their calculator gave me that size. Bad idea. Do not use their calculator. The band was way too loose and the cup too small. I passed that bra on.
Marilyn in 70I fits a lot better (if not a little too roomy in the cups?) I think in EU size I still have to order 70H despite this recent growth. Or maybe that's just Gorteks sizing.
Marilyn is made of nice stretchy lace all over (similar to Wacoal's Halo Lace bra kind of). It has three part cups that are reinforced with mesh wings for a little side support. The cups.... honestly give ...a nice shape. Different. It's kind of east-west rather than front and center but in a shirt it doesn't look half bad. The top of the cups are finished with stretchy elastic, but it doesn't seem to cut into my soft tissue terribly, it's very very mild. It could be though because there is not much lift and so all the tissue under my collarbone doesn't get lifted either so there's nothing to cut into. The cups, however, are very very wide. At least in this size. They go all the way to my armpits. They are VERY firm. It doesn't bother me so much, I think what bothers me is that bra is kind of itchy on me which should be solved after a wash or two. On my smaller side there is some wrinkling along the wire, but overall nothing too terrible. The gore is a very strong (but not painful) tack. The band at 70 is like a Ewa old 70 band. It's more similar to my Fluo than her newer bras. Do not downsize in the band! It's very very tight.
I think I want to replace these straps with a lot wider ones. They're just not very comfortable this thin.
Overall, I like Marilyn. I do wonder if I could have ordered a 70H and gotten away with it? Right now I'm at my 'high tide' days so the cups fit, but I'm not so sure about when I'm on low tide days. We'll see.
This bra makes me a little more confident that my 70G EM bras will fit just fine. The cups on these are huge (28cm depth, maybe even more) but they fit decently well!
Update: I have tried on several occasions wearing this bra but the wires are just too darn wide for me and it bothers me A LOT. On top of that I find that after an hour of wearing it, the support just vanishes for some reason. It could be the cups are too big... who knows? I will not reorder this bra. Read more 338 more words
Yes it lets it look minimalist while still being interesting.
SO gorgeous on you. Certainly an excellent nude for you! Does it feel like the straps are too short? It looks like the band is trying to ride up your back & the straps look like they are digging in something fierce. I agree it also a very wide look, but if you ever become adept with a needle and thread (or have an seamstress friend of go to a professional) you could move that gore together and that would bring the cups more to the front of your chest. Though it would also make the band a bit tighter.
The straps are WAY WAY overtightened haha. My mum was playing brafitter and was like 'oh but you'd get so much better lift if you tightened the straps'. I forgot to loosen them for the photos.
I do think I want to take in the gore (I usually do) but I wasn't up for the surgery today, lol.
I thinknit look very lovely on you! All over lace sounds so nice! I wish Ewa did some like that.
Edit: "I think it looks" not "I thinknit look"....darn phone "keypad" grrrr... :-O
Lol yes, there's stretch in the bottom, stretch in the top, it's basically a very comfy bra (once I washed it and the lace got a lot more softer).
BTW anyone wash their bras as soon as they get it? I tend to do it cause 1. IDK if the bra was a return so I kinda don't wanna wear something someone else's been wearing and 2. I don't really like the unwashed clothes smell (I can smell the dye and stuff)
I measure straight out of the box, do a quick try on & photos then wash before I actually wear. :-)
Exactly in that order as well!
Lol, she was just trying to get your boobies to lift above their roots. XDDD
If you ever want to get deeper into surgery you could install some tulle or power mesh into the side of the cup like a slide sling if you want to pull it more front an center. ;-)
I really should do my bras in that order as well, but I always just want to try the bra on SOOOO bad that I always rip it out the box and throw it right on. XD Then I measure it like after wearing it for a while. So all mine as like essentially "broken in" when I measure them.
Yea my mum is in some serious denial about my boobs. All women in my family are pretty small in that department so it's probably alien to her when she sees my behemoths. Whenever I get a new bra she's like no way, this will be waaaaaaay tooooo big for you and then I put it on and it's actually small and she just can't comprehend lol. Do you mean the mesh side sling it already has sewn inside? Btw, the 36E I ordered before didn't have that so it's a size range thing.
Oh no, I must have missed that part that it already had a side sling in it XD
Funny brasaremean, when my bras come in I have the same thought as your mum, haha.
LeProfessor Yea I mean I don't really hate the shape of it, though! Sometimes you want wide (it makes the waist stand out more :))
MamaPagan Yea the shock is severe but I honestly now assume, now matter how big it is, it's prolly going to be small, haha.
brasaremean I don't know if I'll ever get used to it. Maybe we all have those Gosia magic boobs afterall! :-)
Too funny MamaPagan and brasaremean, I have the same thought when I get a new bra for myself too.
The wires are shaped interesting, the outer halves angle out at a 130 degrees. I think I've seen this better described as a Nike swoosh. The wires are soft. The upper lace is really stretchy, semi closed on top so it tacks at the top but I can't fill it on my smaller side. The cups extend high up on their outer sides so I could see some people having it go too much towards their armpits, but I like it because it keeps my tall roots in check on the outsides. I don't think this bra would work for lots of immediate projection. The band is TTS, one layer of mesh and one of lace, and has side boning. It is hard to tell in pics but the pattern is pink and grey houndstooth.
Me: tall roots, close-set, average or narrow width, even but functionally FOT, centre-full, size asymmetry. 26" and 34" leaning.
I don't like this shape of the wires much, but I do like the fact that they go up higher than in many bras. I've always had problems with Curvy Kate wires and spilling out of their bras on the sides, so it's nice to find something that keeps my breast tissue in place.
Love4Pollinators It is, alotugh I am not that big on florals, to be honest, so this is very out of braracter for me (see what I did there, eh?)
Thanks for the compliment!
I have a question: is underwear plural only in English? In Polish 'underwear' is singular or plural (as in one underwear, two underwear), as it designates just a piece of something to wear under clothing (bra, panties, bodysuit) or a category of clothing. I always have a problem here, since linguistic difference between English and Polish is a bit much.
Interestingly, we don't have a word for lingerie - both 'underwear' and 'lingerie' are just translated as 'bielizna', and when we want to stress that it is not just plain cotton stuff (what would be normally called 'underwear', but not 'lingerie', I assume) we have to use some kind of adjective, such as 'frilly' or 'sexy' or whatever. In English it is kind of obvious what kind of unmentionables we are talking about if we use either 'lingerie' or 'underwear', in Polish there has to be a descriptor added :)
Like Polish, "underwear" can be both singular and plural. For example, "My drawer is full of underwear." and "The underwear I'm wearing are scratchy." And, "underwear" can be labeled "undies" (slang) which looks plural, but acts like "underwear" (both singular and plural). Language is so amazing and confusing, at times. I prefer telepathy ;-) ;-)
Like you, florals are not usually my favorite. But, vibrant and somewhat minimalistic florals, I sincerely appreciate.
This is a beautiful bra, it fits and is comfortable, so I should love it, but I don't. It's because the single layer net cups are just not strong enough. My breasts aren't super-soft, but medium soft and pendulous. I need cups that are firmer on the bottom that give some lift. The only way I can get some shaping from this bra is to shorten the straps a lot, and even then the shape I get is only meh.
I would also like a firmer fabric on the back. The single layer stretchy satin bulges out between the top and bottom elastic. As MiskiDwie ...noted the floppiness of the back makes it hard to fasten. I'm afraid I'm going to put a finger right through it.
I haven't decided yet if I'll keep or return. It is very comfortable and I do love me a grey bra. I have a Fantasie Allegra on the way in purple. If I like it as much as I did when I wore 34FF I may order another in silver and then I'll return this. Read more 80 more words
Thanks for this review. I've had this bra in my cart for a while. I have very soft tissue and prefer a more supportive cup, so now I'm not so sure.
letstalkaboutbras I think the cup might be a hair too large for me. Maybe if you size down? I would exchange mine but I don't like the soft back either so I'll probably just return.
letstalkaboutbras I am soft tissue as well and soft cups are tricky. If you size down you may find it more supportive but then there's the in cup quadding that can occur around the seams. That drives me bonkers.
finallygotboobs It looks like you are holding your shoulders back to get the cups to tighten? Beautiful bra though...very ethereal in color.
fabulouslyfullfigure In-cup quad is the bane of my existence :( I get it in so many unlined bras. Nearly every one. It drives me crazy, too.
It is tricky for me too letstalkaboutbras and I like soft cup so much...I kind of live with a little bit of it in some of my bras I just can't part with :)
fabulouslyfullfigure no, not holding my shoulders back. I was actually leaning forward a little.
I tried it on again this morning and the cups aren't too large after all., just not that supportive. The tops of the cups are somewhat open though.
Probably the camera angle then π Are you keeping it? It's a beautiful bra!
Love this color!!
Btw, Gorteks Marilyn Soft Bra (B-202) is the same cut as this, but it's made of a thicker, sturdier stretch jacquard type lace. Maybe that would interest you. :)
wild_muses is Marilyn closed on top? I like that one but I was afraid it would cut in.
finallygotboobs it is unfortunately, it has a trim on the edge.
fabulouslyfullfigure not sure if I'm keeping it or not. I'll wear it around the house and see if it grows on me.
Runs a full band size small. Cup doesn't fit the same as Marilyn - cup is designed for slightly short roots/FoB shape, I sized up in cup in compensate. Deep, narrow cups. Straps are thick and only moderately stretchy, fully adjustable. Has side boning, boning channels are on top of the band elastic. Cup is made of a single layer of sturdy printed stretch mesh with an elasticated trim along the top edge. Side sling is of a double layer of low stretch (only vertical stretch) mesh, the center gore and the area leading to side boning are also reinforced with a single layer that mesh. Band is ...designed for a straight torso. Three rows of hooks and eyes, back closure lined in very comfy material.
The design of grey background and florals in subdued purple, brown and green tones was eye catching on promotional images and it's even prettier in real life. Straps, hardware and closures are in a harmonizing grey tinged with a hint of blue-green. The center gore decoration is an unobtrusive grey-blue bow made of a thin ribbon, with a small pendant with a round gold and a transparent teardrop detail. There's tasteful low key picot trim detailing along the edges. Read more 97 more words
I'm so happy to share my "bra win" at Happy2brasShop would say - this is a great everyday bra!
As far as sizing, I sister-sized up. The tag labels this as "34G UK" and I am measuring about 32GG UK and I believe this is the best size for me. The first time I tried it on (2 days ago), I was "quadding out" of the left size (my bigger boob), but now it fits better two days later, haha.
The cup is a single layer of fabric, but it does have a double layer of mesh fabric on the side as a "side support," or sling, to ...push breast tissue forward (see picture). Very comfy! This bra fits me like a glove.
This bra was 17.37 euro, but then I had to pay shipping fee to N. America, and 8% commission fee, + paypal fee.
This same bra is the same price/slightly less to buy through misterna.pl though, it's like $23 usd + shipping, so really good price compared to what we would pay for bras in North America.
Polish bras = so much happiness.
Gorteks Marilyn is not *quite* up to Ewa Michalak BM or an unpadded Comexim bra, but it's amazing for the price; if one wants a smoother seam or better nipple coverage, I would try either of those brands. But for the price, this is a great everyday bra. If the seams show a bit, it's okay because I often times wear layers anyway.
The straps are also in a good place for me. For reference, I believe I have average shoulder width.
I would like to try more Gorteks bras in the future; I feel like I had great luck with this one. Read more 204 more words
Heck yeah! High-five and a chest-bump for the bra win. This looks fabulous on you. It looks so smooth! :)
Happy2BraShop , yes, it feels great. Like putting on nylon fabric (but a bit more breathable : ) That being said Ewa Michalak BM will have a smoother seam finish and also better nipple concealment (same with some of Comexim's unpadded bras, imo), just so people know...but if one is okay with those things, this is a great bra for the affordable price. Thanks for the comment!
Padded Gorteks Sofie in size 34FF 75H. From the beginning, I expected it to be too big, but I decided to give it a try and try it on. This is not a cut for me, because I need models to moisturize the breasts with a lower breastbone, but I got it as a gift for trying on. My last Gorteks bra was 70H, but it was too tight in the circumference and on fuller days on the border with the size. Gorteks is generally small in size, so I need 1-2 sizes more than usual. In this model, the 70H would probably suit me, because the circumference ...is more stretchy and I feel loose. In addition, the cups at the top of the breasts stick out, are too large and reach too high under the armpit, perhaps because they are too large. Visually, I like the bra very much, it is subtle and delicate, the cups are slightly stiffened. The bowl of the bra is made of 3 parts, vertical and horizontal seams (not the best choice for me). The great thing about this bra is that it has a stable, thick circumference (3 hooks) and thick, strong straps. It's a pity that it doesn't suit me https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> I don't count that it will fit me before the period and I will probably sell it. This bra is a hidden gem! Gorteks is definitely a brand that deserves more attention, because they've really hit a home run with the design of this bra. This was one of those bras I fell in love with at first try on. It fits like a glove and it's extremely comfortable.
I expected the material to be a typical lace but it's actually a quite thick jacquard (i think?) stretch lace. This material is not only insanely comfortable because of the stretch, but its thickness provides great nipple coverage for an unpadded bra. The design of the bra is quite thoughtful, with a mesh side support sling ...in the cup and side support boning in the band.
Onto the sizing and shape: it is very true to size for a 32F/70G. If you're one who usually orders a band size up in European bras expecting them to run small, I would not do that in this model. Choose your normal UK size. The wires are a pretty average width, so if you're looking for very narrow wires this unfortunately isn't it (although I have narrow roots and don't find the width uncomfortable at all). The cup is deep, short, and closed on top--perfect for me. It also has great immediate projection. Also, in a wonderful surprise, the straps are not set too wide or high and don't cause any pain to my narrow shoulders. The shape of the bottom section is very lifted, supported, and round, with the top section being a little bit flattening. If you have too much top fullness for this bra it might give you an "elf shoe" or "upside-down 7" type shape. I would not pick this bra if you are a cleavage seeker either. The gore is an average width, certainly not narrow like overlapping comexim gores but because the wires are not hard it is perfectly comfortable.
I would highly recommend this bra for short rooted and/or FOB projected breasts. I would not recommend this bra for tall rooted, FOT or shallow breasts.
I ordered this from Other Eden's eBay store, btw, and they are great. Great prices on a lot of EU brands. Read more 254 more words
This bra fits me a lot like the Fanstasie Esme 30E. I happliy find it slightly minimizing. I almost bubble quad on my larger side. It's just a little too closed off at the top for my roots. The cup width only has a little empty space on the sides at 5". I wish there was a tiny bit more immediate projection but the cup volume is really borderline for depths that fit me so it easily might not be a complaint if I wasn't on the cusp. Overall I'm happy with it for a "nude" even though it's not an especially nice ...shade of beige. The lace mostly disapeared and its thick enough I don't show and tell through my tee. I haven't worn it for awhole day. If my opinion changes I'll come back and edit my review accordingly.
Updated: after having this bra 6 months Im not crazy about it as Iβd hoped. Itβs jusf a bit too small. Now that it's getting cooler and I'm layering I probably won't wear it much but it does work decently. It doesn't have quite enough immediate projection for me so it slips down durning the day and cuts in slightly at top. I have inner fullness and a, even though depending on the shape of the bra can be functionally full on top. Read more 131 more words
My shape: Projected, narrow, short rooted, even/functionally full on bottom, soft tissue.
I'm a 30G currently, but sister sized up to a 70H (32FF UK) since I'd read that Gorteks bands runs small. Unfortunately I found this bra to run true to size in the band, and slightly small in the cups.
I agree with some other reviewers that this bra feels flimsy. The straps are extremely stretchy, the materials are thin, and in general I just prefer a sturdier bra.
The wires are too wide for me, and the top of the cup cuts in a little bit on my larger side. I don't think it's worth trying this in other sizes, and I'll be returning it.
This is a jaquard soft cup bra. The fabric is rather thick, so this one would be a good winter bra. The cups are a little too deep for me, but I can work with that.
Wow, I am sold. This is probably the only bralette - style bra that makes my boobs look better than in a regular bra. The style is similar to F&f Frankie Coral Lace (VG51628453) and it is delightfully comfortable. I will post pics wearing the bra soon, but for now I am a happy camper. It is a soft cup with a little padded piece on the bottom of the cup, which provides enough support with that 'sweet nothing' look.
